system wardrobe malfunctions and small scenario pushers: exteme edition au
after his qi deviation, shen qingqiu starts working on slowly building up relations with his fellow peak lords and disciples; saving liu qingge in the caves, spoiling luo binghe rotten, freely praising his students, inviting the sect leader over for tea, he's a whole new person!
and yet... his friendliness levels aren't going up.
he knows it's a bit icky to judge his relations with other people based on numbers an alien entity is giving him, but he needs them to survive, and he swears that once he's above a certain threshold (somewhere between "civil" and "friendly", he figures), he will mute every and all notifications regarding it.
but they're just not going up. since his deviation he's at least managed to claw his way from "hostile" to "tolerant" with most of them, but some are somehow still stuck in the "aloof" section! they wouldn't even care if he died!
he just doesn't know what he's doing wrong; he understands these things take time, but it feels so bad when people refuse to sit next to him or sigh when they're assigned a mission with him, especially since it's not his fault.
now, it so happens that, one day, the system hears his woes and takes pity on him.
【 user seems to experience difficulty increasing character favor levels 】
you could say that
【 would host like to utilize our special deluxe package to activate 'The Path of Blossoming Hearts and Unspoken Affections' free of charge? ₊˚⊹♡ 】
though shen qingqiu isn't trustful of the system's antics, he can't deny that so far they have helped him well enough, and since it's free of charge with no penalties, wouldn't it be a waste not to use it? the title is a bit dubious, but was the original shen qingqiu not known for his frozen heart? for never sparing a single nice word to anyone? this could be his chance to let it blossom without the system nagging on his characterization.
【 accept optional mission? [yes]/[no] 】
he picks [yes].
two weeks later, he wishes he hadn't.
the package is devided into small scenarios that mostly appear at random, ranging from small dialogue challenges where he has to pick the right option (he really doesn't like those, the dehumanization of it makes his skin crawl), to the equivalent of two rivals getting locked in a room together.
the first few scenarios are minor and not very impactful, to the point where he's finished three of them and his favor count with qi qingqi has increased a whopping +2 (still "aloof") and that of wei qingwei +5 (still "tolerant").
his fourth scenario, however, reminds him of exactly why he should never accept gifts from strange screens floating in the sky.
he's on a nighthunt with liu qingge to slay a mirebeast that's been terrorizing travelers—an amphibious creature with thick, slimy skin, a crocodile tail and a leech-like mouth that shoots mucus when threatened... and shooting mucus it did.
while his clothes can easily be cleaned with a cleaning talisman, he never feels truly clean himself unless he actually bathes. luckily, there's a beautiful, glass-like pond nearby that's surrounded by natural demonic-repellent vegetation, a win! he's just draped his clothes over a nearby branch and submerged himself in the water, when the system rings out.
【 heads up! small scenario "Stolen Silks and Sunlit Waters" is about to begin! penalty: none. wishing user good luck (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) 】
hold up—stolen what.
stolen silks. his silks. stolen by a mossy-jade stag that happens to scratch its huge antles on the exact tree he hung his clothes on, which rattles the branch and causes his robes to fall exactly onto its head, spooking it into a gallop as it disappears into the forest.
how. how does that even happen.
shen qingqiu is just about to get out of the water when of course liu qingge chooses that exact moment to stomp into the glade looking for him, even though he should have been miles away to the village to ensure the people the beast is dead.
for anyone looking in from the outside, it's not a bad picture: shen qingqiu, with his hair pulled up and away from his slender neck, submerged to his (very bare!) pale shoulders in golden sunlit waters, surrounded by lotus flowers and lily pads. to liu qingge, this must be a terrible view, apparently—shen qingqiu can think of no other reason that would cause his face to flush so bright red.
liu qingge tosses his outer robe on the grass between them and turns resolutely around. it's only a bit insulting—is shen qingqiu not pretty enough to try and sneak a look at? even just a glimpse? meanwhile liu qingge is trying really hard to mentally recite the ethics sutra to not fixate on the sound of shen qingqiu getting out of the water (naked!!) or the rustle of fabrics as he wraps liu qingge's robe around his (naked!!!!) body. when liu qingge turns around he flushes an even darker shade as he sees shen qingqiu's bare legs and feet sticking out from under the robes.
"thanking shidi," says shen qingqiu, who notices none of this, as he pulls the robe a little closer around him, "for coming to this one's untimely rescue."
liu qingge grunts, turns, and walks away.
【 congratulations! liu qingge's favor increased. character satisfaction points +50. please continue to work hard! 】
shut up
【 ૮(˶╥︿╥)ა 】
they return to the sect victorious, but very embarrassed. the mirebeast gets all the blame. where his clothes are? well—uh, gone. the mucus dissolved them. yes he knows that's not how mucus works but it did this time okay?!!
yue qingyuan acts a bit strange seeing shen qingqiu wearing liu qingge's outer robes. he almost qi deviates when he finds out his shidi is wearing absolutely nothing under it. it's all very dramatic. apparently the sect is made up of people who shower with their clothes on or something.
【 ⁺‧₊˚bonus scenario!!˚₊‧⁺˖ interactive dialog quest: pick the best suited options to win additional favor points! 】
i don't like where this is going
"shidi?" yue qingyuan asks, looking at him with those big worried puppy eyes.
【 choice A: (demure) this shidi is cold. will you not invite me in at least?
choice B: what are you looking at?! mind your own business stupid old man!
choice C: i'm in love with liu qingge 】
WHAT
if he was drinking tea he would have spat it out, and then coughed himself to death. what the hell kind of options are these!!
【 system has based these options on what will earn (or lose!) user the most points. please pick one. 】
[ admin notes: option A will earn +60 points. option B will neither increase nor decrease points. option C will decrease -100 satisfaction points and increase +200 heartbreak points ]
shen qingqiu silently curses the system. option B is way out of line, even for the original shen qingqiu, who probably would insult yue qingyuan, but not with so little class. he doesn't even consider option C an actual option. and, well, he is cold. and wet. and almost naked. he would like a warm bath and some clothes. A it is then.
he doesn't like the way yue qingyuan's face light up when he grits out the dialog.
【 congratulations! yue qingyuan's favor increased. character satisfaction points +60! keep up the good work! 】
he can't keep doing this much longer.
unfortunately, he does have to keep doing this for much longer.
he's just about to go to bed when someone knocks on the door. luo binghe is already sleeping so he goes himself. just as he's about to open the door the system rings out—but it's too late.
shen yuan is used to wearing old tshirts to bed and no pants (he hates the feeling of his legs being restricted while he sleeps), so he doesn't really care when the only equivalent of this in pidw is a silk nightgown. his mother wore them, his sister wore them. hell, one of his brothers once bought one for fun and ended up using it for months. it's florally embroidered with puffy sleeves and reaches to his knees, that's decent enough, right?
【 heads up! small scenario "Dreamy Encounters at Dusk" is about to begin! good luck! 】
he has no idea what that's supposed to mean and he doesn't care. he opens the door, and it's mu qingfang. not... that unusual, but still.
"can this master help you?"
it takes mu qingfang a moment to remember what he's here for, it seems, because he stares at shen qingqiu for a good few seconds before raising an eyebrow like he's caught him doing something wrong.
"does shen-shixiong always answer the door like this?"
shen qingqiu glares back. "only when unsolicited guests come stumbling around my porch in the middle of the night."
"fair enough."
apparently he's here on behalf of yue qingyuan, who had asked him to do a post mission check up as soon as he was available, which is now. which yue qingyuan had apparently forgotten to relay to shen qingqiu himself. awesome.
he invites mu qingfang in (he can hardly close the door on him, it's late for him too!), and sits through the usual poking and prodding.
the system is prodding, too.
【 would user like some advice on how to maximize point earning? 】
no
【 ( •̯́ ^ •̯̀) system is only trying to help!! 】
i really don't need your help with this, thanks. i can keep a conversation on my own.
【 optional system booster: not mandatory. user may choose to decline this quest.
option 1: this one appreciates your care. the hardship is... unexpected. (look away shyly). i find it difficult to accept help sometimes, even when i need it.
option 2: i'm in love with you.
option 3: stand up and pretend to faint into his arms 】
shen qingqiu is about to spit blood—what the HELL is this!!! why do all your options make you look bipolar HUH??? and what's this about professing my love to people?!! why is that always an option??! this isn't a dating simulator, stupid system, they'll think i'm crazy!
【 all these options result in an increase of character satisfaction points (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) 】
HOW
【 (ó﹏ò。) user seems misinformed about character preferences. [mu qingfang] likes to take care of people! 】
... i decline the quest. booster. whatever. i'll figure it out myself. and stop talking about him like he's some one dimensional character!
they hear stumbling coming from the little side room, then the creaking of floorboards. binghe peeks through the door, hair sleep-ruffled and his robes pulled on over his sleeping clothes.
"shizun?" he asks, worried, "what's wrong? why is mu-shishu here?"
【 ⁺‧₊˚bonus scenario!!˚₊‧⁺˖ interactive dialog quest: pick the best suited options to win additional favor points! 】
oh god, not again.
【 option A: (gently) nothing is wrong, binghe. this master is alright. go back to sleep.
option B: (gently) nothing is wrong, binghe. this master is alright. (invite him to sit next to you during the examination)
option C: (gently) nothing is wrong, binghe. this master is alright. mu-shidi is just keeping me company tonight. 】
huh. so you can give meaningful options that i would actually consider picking?
【 ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜ 】
[admin notes: option A will decrease -100 points for luo binghe. option B will increase +20 points for luo binghe. option C will decrease -300 points for luo binghe, and increase +20 points for mu qingfang. option A & C increase luo binghe jealousy levels with 400 points].

(POV: little Ning Yingying overhears the peak lords gossiping about her Baba and corrects them!!)
—
“What?” Ning Yingying blurted out before she could stop herself, pure confusion on her face. “Shizun doesn’t sleep with women!”
Several faces blanched, and Yue Qingyuan rapidly began to look constipated at her bluntness.
“Oh honey, Qi Qingqi said, pitying. “You shouldn’t even be hearing about this.”
Ning Yingying shrugged off the hand the older cultivator placed on her shoulder, now even more upset. “He doesn’t sleep with my aunties. That would be weird. And gross.”
“Your aunties…?” Mu Qingfang’s eyes cleared. It looked like he was rapidly putting things together in his mind.
“Your aunties are at the Warm Red Pavillion?” Qi Qingqi seemed stuck on that fact, eyebrows raised high.
“Yes!” She tried not to stomp her foot. Just because Baba didn’t mind when she acted childish, doesn’t mean they wouldn’t. “Why else would he go and visit there?”
Wei Qingwei coughed awkwardly. “Well, I mean…”
Qi Qingqi stomped on his foot, and he let out an unmanly screech.
“Why do your aunties live at the Warm Red Pavillion?” Qi Qingqi asked carefully, eyes narrowed.
“Ba—Shizun says it’s because he doesn’t have enough money to pay for them to leave.” The little girl looks sad, but then she brightens up again like a flower in the sun. “But he says he’s getting there, so they might leave soon!”
“Oh.” Shang Qinghua said, looking paler than usual. “Well that’s fine, then.”
“Did you almost call him something else?” Asked a female peak lord who Ning Yingying didn’t recognize.
“Baba says I can’t call him Baba in public…” Ning Yingying informed them glumly. “Because people might think he didn’t adopt me. And that they might treat me differently. I think that’s kinda stupid, though, but don’t tell him I said that…”
Yue Qingyuan put a hand over his entire face, and groaned.

Wan Jian Disciple Shen Jiu
In the extras, I believe(? Pretty sure at least) little Shen Jiu had the ability to use Qi to manipulate metals, and maybe as a youth, when Yue Qingyuan brings Shen Jiu to Cang Qiong, the Wan Jian Peak Lord snatches up Shen Jiu before the Qing Jing Peak Lord can, because of his giftness with Qi manipulation and metals.
Wan Jian Disciple Shen Jiu is taught the beauty of creation, and the price you pay for a masterpiece. And if Shen Jiu watches the forging process, and watches how the metal is beaten, and molded, burned in an inferno, quenched in oil, sharpened by friction, detailed and oiled, and thinks of his own life, and realizes he has the potential to be as breathtaking as the swords that adorn his shizun's study, then that's between himself and the anvil, no?
In this au, Shen Jiu would never drop the habit he picked up with Wu Yanzi of having weapons tucked into every corner of his body. Two swords upon his back, war fans, daggers, knives, throwing knives, all sharpened to an edge that could cut rock like butter.
While he may have a reasonable amount of weapons visible on his person, there is always an almost unreasonable amount of weapons hidden on his person.
Oh also in this au Shen Jiu corners Yue Qingyuan and demands to know what the hell is going on with Xuan Su, because he's knows that swords don't feel like that Yue Qingyuan what did you do—
Shen Jiu is renowned for his works and skill, his signature being the delicate and precise inlays of precious ore into the exquisite blades, from inscriptions in gorgeous gold, the characters themselves looking like they were made by a master calligrapher, to intricate designs, and even the depictions of scenes.
(Shen Jiu reforges Xuan Su and helps Yue Qingyuan reforge his bond with Xuan Su, and on Xuan Su's blade there is now a gorgeous mosaic of intricate designs, inscriptions, and scenes forged into the very blade.
Impossibly, Xuan Su has more renown than before.)
Wan Jian isn't as stuck up as Qing Jing, wherein Shen Jiu would have to pretend to be a rich young master, but it's not as barbaric as Bai Zhan, nor as monotonous as An Ding.
In this au Shen Jiu finds fulfillment in his craft, and spends his days delighting in the labor of creation.
Perhaps he becomes the Wan Jian Peak Lord, perhaps he's more than content to leave the politics and paperwork to Wei Qingwei, and simply continues to delight in the work of his hands, so to say.

“I think this has gone on long enough.” Wei Qingwei cut in, letting Shang Qinghua fall silent. The A Ding Peak lord looked grateful, taking big breaths to get his footing back.
“Oh, you can’t be embarrassed,” Qi Qingqi said, amused. “You barely had any secrets to begin with. Not like Mu-Shidi over there, with his… experiments.”
Mu Qingfang slid lower in his seat, face red and trying to hide in his collar. Shang Qinghua had blabbed about many things.
“How does he know all that?” A random peak lord, who had been put on blast for three minutes straight, said bitterly.
“A lot of spying.” The imposter said, amused. He was fanning himself, like he had just been watching a show. Shen Jiu and Yue Qingyuan, next to him, were no longer in this conversation. Instead they were whispering angering to each other. Well, Shen Jiu was whispering angrily. Yue Qingyuan wasn’t really matching his energy.
“And who are you then?” Qi Qingqi asked.
“Ah… the nice Shen Qingqiu that you’ve all gotten to know and love over the past few years?” He said awkwardly, and then laughed even more awkwardly when no one said anything to that. “My name is Shen Yuan. I just accidentally took Jiu-Ge over. I swear I didn’t mean to do it. But I am here now, and you are stuck with me.”
“Bold move bro.” Shang Qinghua muttered. Everyone ignored him.
“You can’t go home?” Liu Qingge asked, looking at him intently.
“I might have… died, to get here.” The imposter, Shen Yuan?, said hesitantly.
“You died?!” Mu Qingfang asked, alarmed. He sat up straight, previous embarrassment forgotten as he looked him over, as if to find hidden injuries. “How did you die?!”
“I was… poisoned?”
“Someone poisoned you?” Liu Qingge asked intently, suddenly looking like he was about to go fight whatever poisoned him.
“….no.” He said slowly. He reached for a fan, only to find that he had none. His fan was with Shen Jiu, as the rightful owner. See this, Liu Qingge slid a fan over to him, like the ever fateful Shidi he was! Now with his face covered, he continued, embarrassed. “I might have poisoned myself?”
“You killed yourself?” Shen Jiu, checking back into the conversation, asked. On anyone else, it might have sounded like alarm. Yue Qingyuan, and a lot of the peak lords, also looked alarmed, most likely thinking about his depressed mood that everyone claimed he had over the last two years. Shen Yusn shook his head quickly.
“No! Nothing like that! I just ate some bad food!”
Silence. Then-
“You died from food poisoning?” Mu Qingfang muttered in disbelief. “That explains a lot actually.”
“Mu-Shidi, what does that mean?!”

What about Wei Qingwei? 👀
hehehHEHEHE WHO IS READY FOR SWORD PUNS-
-----
"Thrity percent."
"Ten percent."
"Twenty five percent."
"Five, and if you keep pushing, I will give you nothing at all." Shang Qinghua slammed his book closed, the threat like a sharp knife being held over Wei Qingwei's dreams of a new forge.
"The Immortal Allience Conference is coming soon, I need a new forge to make new weapons," Wei Qingwei said as if his argument couldn't be refuted. Better start sooner than later, right? Even stubborn Shang Qinghua couldn't find fault in a point like that!
"Wei-shixiong," The An Ding Peak Lord rubbed his hands all over his face, smearing ink on his cheek as he gave the biggest sigh Wei Qingwei ever seen someone give. "I understand your frustration and your anxiety to start things now, believe me, I know," Shang Qinghua gestured at his entire desk, a chaos of papers and parchments, some of them covered in numbers so tiny it hurt Wei Qingwei's eyes to look at them for too long. "But as you can see, everyone wants a head start, and as we have discussed, many times I may add, the Immortal Allience Conference budget will be given next year. And is no one's fault-" Then he paused, mumbling something suspiciously like "but your own", only to continue with a smile. "That your disciples blew up a forge. Again."
Wei Qingwei crossed his arms, tapping his fingers. It annoyed him to no end that his lie had been caught before he could use it, but something nagged on his mind that the money wasn't actually the problem here.
He had heard... Stories. You see, blacksmithing could be really boring. When you're waiting for a new ore shipment, or when one had nothing to do besides polishing metal (hehe) again and again, what one could do besides gossiping? And the last big whisper among his older disciples had been too good for him to ignore.
Long night meetings with Zhangmen-Shixiong, visits at odd hours to a certain bamboo house, doctor's appointments in the middle of the night while being perfectly healthy... One had to be stupid to not connect the dots.
The quiet as a mouse, shadow of twelve peaks, Lord Shang Qinghua fucked. And he must be pretty good at it if the types like Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu came back for more.
Another thing that wasn't hard to see was how stressed the man looked. To be honest, Wei Qingwei doesn't remember any time Shang-shidi was not stressed. Maybe it was because they met only during meetings. Or when he went to ask for money. Hm.
What Qi Qingqi said? Something something vinegar and bees and honey? Maybe he should try another strategy.
"This one would like to apologize to his Shidi for the insistence. But maybe I could bid on a final offer?" And Wei Qingwei didn't curl his finger on his hair because he wasn't that shameless, but he wasn't ashamed to pull his sleeves up to show off some muscle, leaning forward to let his outer robes slide just enough to show his clavicle.
Shang Qinghua stared.
"Very well, a final offer," he agreed and then proceeded to pretend to organize his desk, taking a glance or two at Wei Qingwei's neck.
"Shidi goes back to his first ten percent advance deal," Now Wei Qingwei knew he was laying on too thick by Shang Qinghua's snort. Still, he didn't back off, winking as he said: "and I can craft something special for you."
"Hmm..." Shang Qinghua moved more papers around, pulled his collar as he took another peek at Wei Qingwei's chest. "I do have some projects in mind that would require Wei-shixiong's expertise..." He hesitated for another moment, slowly laying back until his back hit the panel behind him, one of his hands going to his sword, playing with the tassel like a cat about to catch a mouse. "Also, it's been a while since I've polished my sword. Would Wei-shixiong consider putting that in his offer as well?"
The next day...
"I swear to Heavens, your hair is possessed by something. What did you do to make it so knotted?" Qi Qingqi was being delicate, mind you, she would never be less than gentle, but she also couldn't resist pulling the curls a little bit stronger than she would. Served Wei Qingwei right for making her spend an entire morning taking care of his curly creature.
Also, Wei Qingwei's dreamy sighs were starting to annoy her. He was acting worse than her teenage girls!
"I went to talk to Shang-shidi yesterday," he said as if he wasn't almost vibrating to share how did it go.
"And?" she rolled her eyes, pulling her comb just enough to make him hiss. "By the look on your face he agreed on giving you more money."
He started laying back on her, but before he could ruin all her hard work on the lower part of his hair, she hit him with the comb. And it was a testimony of how smug he was that his only reaction was to laugh, eyes creasing into two half moons, smiling like a sly fox.
"He gave me something alright."
She stopped mid movement blinking once then twice, mouth opening in a surprised gasp.
"You didn't."
"Oh I did."
"I can't believe you did it."
"I can't believe how huge is his-"
"Stop!" She hit him again with the comb, and then a second time. She didn't need that image in her head the next meeting, thank you very much!! "Shut up! I don't wanna hear it!"
"Ow, ow, alright I'm sorry!" He apologized but kept laughing, no, not laughing, giggling like he were about to kick his feet and start making plans for a wedding.
She loved him, but. Ew.
"How is he that good?" She wondered out loud when they finally calmed down and went back to controlling Wei Qingwei's hair. "He looks like he's about to faint half of the time, and the other half, he's crying about us being mean to him."
"I have no idea, but he's growing quite the reputation. But it does make sense after you think about it. And!" This time she couldn't hold him in place, Wei Qingwei turning around so she could see him wiggling his eyebrows. "Explains a lot why a lot of lords were blushing last meeting. You know the voice he does? The bossy one?"
She dropped everything to cover her ears, closing her eyes as well so she couldn't even read his lips. "I don't wanna hear it!!"
That send Wei Qingwei into another fit of giggles, throwing his head back while covering his face with both hands.
Qi Qingqi didn't understand, honestly she didn't want to understand. But her best friend was having fun, so if she sent a blessing on Shang Qinghua's way, that was between her and the Heavens.

Aaaaaand Wei Qingwei had his turn! :D I wanted to make it more naughty but I'm at work and djahskfjskdks Everyone here knows English so- LETS JUST SAY I WORKED ON MY POKERFACE TODAY

Yue Qingyuan's Fix It Speedrun
After the event of Bingge vs. Bingmei, Yue Qingyuan comes up to ask Luo Binghe.
"So you say Xin Mo can bring you to another universe, at another point of time, where there are the same people as in this universe?"
Luo Binghe nods cautiously.
"Do you want to help your shizun in the other universes?"
And so start the dysfunctional team of Yue Qingyuan, Luo Binghe, and Shen Yuan to rescue Xiao Jiu, and by extension, Yue Qi.
If Xiao Jiu and Yue Qi are still slave children, both are bought, freed... Or kidnapped. And brought back to Cang Qiong in Yue Qingyuan's universe where his universe's Shen Qingqiu (Shen Yuan) settles them down.
If Xiao Jiu is already in the Qiu Household, Yue Qingyuan either buys, lies about Xiao Jiu needing to go with him for some reasons. Or just kidnaps him.
After a few universes, Yue Qingyuan realises kidnapping is the easiest and most reliable way so he sticks to it.
If Yue Qi is locked in the Lingxi Cave, Yue Qingyuan kidnaps frees Yue Qi. It's not like people outside come to check how Yue Qi is doing that often, and they don't have high hope he would survive anyway. His shizun also has all the other future sect leader candidates outside.
If Yue Qi is already out of the cave, he kidnaps takes Yue Qi to meet the many Xiao Jiu back in Qiong Ding in his universe.
If Xiao Jiu is with Wu Yanzi, he kills Wu Yanzi and kidnaps rescues Xiao Jiu to Mu Qingfang in his universe to fix his meridians and feed precious treasures generously provided by Xiao Jiu's future disciple and Demon Emperor.
If both are already in Cang Qiong... He does not quite know what to do, so he stalks observes Xiao Jiu for the time being in case Xiao Jiu needs something.
Meanwhile, Xiao Jiu, who is always annoyed at Yue Qingyua's lurking at the edge of his vision, says his demand is the answer why Yue Qi did not come back to save him. As Yue Qingyuan already sets his mind to provide what any Xiao Jiu needs no matter what, he helplessly confesses he did come back but was too late and was too much of a self loathing coward to utter the truth.
Finally, after this long, it is clear to Yue Qingyuan that what all Shen Qingqiu in all the universes need is the reason why he did not come back, so he sets out to tell every Shen Qingqiu that.
Though, sometimes, in some universe, Xiao Jiu, Yue Qi, or both are already dead, so he makes a proper grave or two, and moves on...
...
If Xiao Jiu is in the Water Prison, he kidnaps him.
If Xiao Jiu is in the Water Prison and already lost a limb, he cries... Kidnaps and drops Xiao Jiu to Mu Qingfang.
If Yue Qingyuan also sees a pile of broken Xuan Su shards next to the limbless Xiao Jiu, he brings those back too.
Soon, both the Qiong Ding Peak and the Qing Jing Peak are full of Xiao Jiu and Yue Qi of various ages. Yue Qingyuan is thinking of creating a thirteenth peak exclusively just for them to live in.
Almost all of the older Xiao Jiu are afraid of Luo Binghe though, so Yue Qingyuan bans Luo Binghe from meeting those Xiao Jiu. It is also another reason why Luo Binghe's duty is limited to opening and closing the portals, aside from the presence of Xin Mo being too glaringly demonic and would complicating the rescues.
Luo Binghe is heartbroken, but he can still play with the other younger Xiao Jiu and his own husband shizun.
...
This morning, Wei Qingwei sees his sect leader drops off another pile of Xuan Su shards. Wan Jian now has a concerning amount of broken Xuan Su. Wei Qingwei should reforge or do something about this many and this powerful swords, right?
"Zhangmen shixiong, really, how many spare Xuan Su swords do you need?!"
The Qian Cao Peak is also packed with so many younger versions of the sect leader with different stages of broken bones, torn tendons, and frayed meridians. Even worse, he gets so many more younger versions of Shen Qingqiu whose injuries range from malnutrition, contusion and laceration wounds, crippled meridians, to limblessness and dying... Who is hissing and biting him whenever he approaches to examine or treat...
At least none of them contracts Without a Cure... How curious... Why is it only his universe's shixiong who is careless when fighting the demons??
From the sect leader's face though, Yue shixiong expects nothing less than the state of completely reattached or regrown limbs, eyes, and tongue. Mu Qingfang wipes his sweat. He surely has to extensively expand and deepen his knowledge about the reconstruction medicine.
Luckily Shen shixiong and Shang shixiong are knowledgeable about many plants, beasts, and treasures that resolve these issues, and Luo shizi easily fetch them from the Demon Realm and the hidden realms.
Mu Qingfang now could have even cured all the crippled victims of the Sower incidence back then. However, with the number of his current patients... Mu Qingfang sighs.
"Zhangmen shixiong, please slow down on your kidnapping rescuing!!"
Later, at the thirteenth peaks, many Shen Jiu, Shen Qingqiu, Yue Qi, and Yue Qingyuan can randomly see random demons corpses and random fans placed in front of their many Bamboo Houses on random days.
One Shen Jiu screams across the peak, "Brute! Come back and take your things!"
===
Meanwhile, after Luo Bingge goes back to his own universe,

PART TWO OF ME BLABBING ABOUT MY WEI QINGWEI HEADCANONS. Part one can be found here!!!!
(Azzie brought up Crowyuan with this next statement in italics, and I POUNCED): 'now i imagine crowyuan flapping over to wan jian peak to have a look at the swords (shinies all the shinies of the wooorld!!), and wei qingwei sees this obviously very intelligent crow hopping around so he decides to let it perch on his arm/shoulder while he gives it a good proper tour!! (maybe he thinks its from the beast peak, or maybe he just reaaally wants to give a tour to someone who can't talk back dnsjsksksms. and the crow seems very interested!!) idk how exactly the sword picking ceremony works, but id be sooo good if there was a sword that sort of "reacted" to shen yuan aaahhh'
WEI QINGWEI STARING LIKE "????" AS ONE OF THE SWORDS HUMS AGGRESSIVELY AROUND SHEN YUAN WHEN HE'S SHOWING HIM THE CAVES. He glares at the sword for a moment, shifting crowyuan away from the sword and watching as the aggressive vibrating lessens. Then he turns to Shen Yuan, narrows his eyes, and says "you know, I don't think that sword is small enough for you" and he sounds genuinely SO upset about it.
This guy would arm everything around him if he could - one time, when they were head disciples, Yue Qingyuan had to physically stop the beast peak head disciple and Wei Qingwei from arming one of their bigger monsters after finding them whispering and giggling to each other as they designed random plans for it. Listen, he's very proud of his shidi but there is a LIMIT. Wei Qingwei sees crowyuan and is like "....would the birdy like his own sword?"
ALSO, he loves his peak, it's his baby!! He shows so much consideration of it, and I like to think that he mainly allows the natural wildlife to do its thing, as long as his forges remain in use and his disciples have all the space they need. The moment someone new steps onto his peak, it's like the heavens have opened for Wei Qingwei - SOMEONE NEW TO SHOW AROUND!!! And I also like to think that (although he rarely asks for them), whenever Wei Qingwei asks for a change to his peak in a meeting everyone is instantly like "YUE QINGYUAN ARE YOU GOING TO SAY NO TO THIS BEAUTIFUL MAN" as he gives them all his brilliant smile. Listen, the moment he gets a new change it is STIM CENTRAL AND EVERYONE GETS TO LISTEN TO HIM YAPPER ON EXCESSIVELY ABOUT THESE THINGS!!
I like the idea that, as disciples, Liu Qingge was an unwilling guinea pig for Mu Qingfang, but Wei Qingwei was actively going out of his way to get the wildest injuries just so Mu Qingfang could practise treating them - "Mu-shidi, Mu-shidi, look!! You told me that you were struggling with pulling people out of qi deviations so guess what I did!!!" "WEI-SHIXIONG NO-" I still have much to talk about surrounding this man (including how he GOT his scars *squealing in the background*) but it IS my bedtime and I don't want to overwhelm you guys with my autism. (oh em gee is that a part THREE???? Where did that come from....)

I went wild on the amputee!SY thread yesterday the other day, so it's only fair that I finally update some Sheepzun.
Here's the masterpost, and here's the previous part.
---
The next morning, Shen Yuan was placed in the halter again, and a Xin Ya disciple held the lead, stopping and arranging them in front of a grand hall. As the morning proceeded, the peak lords began to filter into the hall, passing the two along the way.
Yue Qingyuan greeted the disciple kindly, gave him a look of consideration, then continued inside.
Mu Qingfang nodded to them, though Shen Yuan couldn't tell if it was to both of them or just the disciple.
Qi Qingqi didn't seem to give either of them much attention.
Wei Qingwei greeted the disciple, then began giving Shen Yuan a long look, even moving in front of him directly and crouching down to look him in the eye. As he was doing that, the Xin Ya Peak lord, Sun Qingjian, also came about.
"What are you doing?"
"Hmm... This guy here looks more attentive than the spirit sheep I usually see. Look."
Wei Qingwei stood in front of him and shifted his weight from foot to foot. Shen Yuan, not feeling particularly sociable at the moment, simply followed the man with his eyes. Well, not that he had to move his eyes much. There were various benefits to having partially monocular vision.
"Sheep don't usually follow you with their eyes like that, right? They can already see all around them, so I think this guy's purposefully letting me know he's lookin' at me."
Ah.
Having been caught, he causally played it off, shaking his head as though getting rid of a fly and bending his head to find some nice grass nearby.
"What's your point about that? Of course animals will look at something moving in front of them if they're interested in it."
"I'm saying I think there's more going on in that ram's head."
They both entered the hall not long after, and Shen Yuan, already feeling a bit tired of being looked at after spending so much of his time hiding from prying eyes, loafed comfortably on the ground. Hmmh. If things were going to be this boring or annoying, he might as well meditate.
So, he entered a meditative state, chewing cud in steady motions as he did.
He heard a few others come and pass, some lords he would probably recognize if he kept his eyes open. Though, he only just learned some of their names, their scents were different enough from each other he could put them together if he put forth the effort.
Speaking of which, he heard landed heavily nearby before walking his way in front of him and standing there. They smelled of iron, brick dust, a low tinge of sweat, and spring water.
He waited... And waited... And waited...
And the person remained there.
"U-Uhm... Liu-shishu..."
Oh! It was the pretty one he'd saved and who had kinda stood in front of him yesterday when facing the demons.
Shen Yuan could open his eyes for him.
So he did, only to see vambraces. He had to angle his head up to see the man staring down at him, his face as beautiful as the first time he saw it. Though, he was definitely more pretty without all the disheveled hair and blood and qi deviation-induced screaming.
He blinked slowly at the man, who simply stared back with a frown, his arms crossed. Liu Qingge then turned to Shen Yuan's current handler.
"You."
"Ah, y-yes, Shishu?"
"Has this one spoken to you?"
"Uhm...who?"
The man's frown worsened. "The ram."
"Th... Ram? No, Shishu..."
The man's gaze slid back to him.
"...Hmh."
Then, he walked away, going to enter the meeting hall.
Eh? So, did he believe Binghe when he said they could talk with each other? The others looked at him like he was a little insane, but, well, he couldn't quite recall Liu Qingge's expression back then.
Well, whatever. All he hoped was that, when the time came to advocate for whether he should live or die, he'd perhaps think of how he'd saved his life. That would be very nice if he were to do that!
---
The meeting was about more than the ram.
Of course, considering the attack on Cang Qiong Sect, Shen Qingqiu took his time to lay into everyone about how he'd warned them of the potential for this sort of issue to happen. If he (and Liu Qingge, though he didn't say his name) hadn't come out of seclusion, who knows what would've happened to their disciples?
Unfortunately, Shen Qingqiu actually had quite a good point. They would've lost a lot more than face if not for his (and Liu Qingge's) arrival. Thankfully, they managed to avoid losing face as well, with Yue Qingyuan expressing pride regarding the participation and cooperation of their disciples and each other's peaks coming forth to protect each other. As much as Shen Qingqiu called his commentary "useless wound-licking," the other peak lords did seem less hostile and prickly after his speech.
Then, on to the conversation about the ram, staring with Sun Qingjian immediately discussing his ownership of it.
"While we all hold some ownership over the property and items in Cang Qiong Sect, the ram is, first and foremost, the property of my peak and the result of the efforts of my disciples. Logically, it should return to my Xin Ya."
"And what will you do with it, Sun-shixiong?" asked Zhi Ye Peak lord, Ren Qingyao.
"Is that of any consequence to you?"
"It is not. However, this humble one did a preliminary search through our records on spirit sheep. I was unable to find any information regarding a spirit sheep acquiring the level of spiritual energy I sense from the ram in question. Instead of returning it to Xin Ya for processing, I suggest that we study it further."
"Processing it... How do you know this lord would send the ram to the slaughterhouse? We do more than provide food for the sect. Perhaps you've forgotten that, Ren-shidi."
"I see no problem in processing the ram," Yi Ding Peak lord, Yang Qingning, murmured, the tips of her fingers stained slightly green from creating various cultivation pills and poisons. "The ram's horns could be incredibly valuable."
"Like I said, there's no guarantee I would process the ram!"
"Are you not?"
"...I said there's no guarantee, not that I wouldn't. But what I do with a sheep I own shouldn't be of any concern to anyone else."
"Frankly, this one agrees," Shen Qingqiu huffed, fanning himself. "Although, Sun-shidi had some difficulties keeping his beasts on his own peak. Who knows how much it has ruined the gardens of Qing Jing? While you can take your beast back, this lord expects reparations."
"Alright, but didn't that sheep protect your student?" Wei Qingwei added. "Bloodied up a demon all on its own."
"Not to mention, the poor boy seemed driven mad by however you're teaching him. Saying he could talk with the dumb creature of all things! I pity him, that Luo Binghe," Qi Qingqi sighed, shooting an icy stare toward the man she insulted.
"My, if I recall, that Luo Binghe you pity was actually able to win his fight, madness notwithstanding. How are your girls doing, Qi-shimei?" he shot back.
They gave each other charged glares as the others continued to discuss the ram's placement and fate. Shang Qinghua simply cowered quietly, writing notes in a harried manner.
"The ram saved Shen Qingqiu and me in the Lingxi Caves."
All conversation ceased, and Shang Qinghua accidentally snapped the handle of the brush he was using to write, the broken part clattering to the floor.
Yue Qingyuan, who'd been keeping the peace as neutrally as possible, immediately became concerned.
"What do you mean by that?"
Liu Qingge, put off by the sudden attention, scowled. "I meant what I said. It saved Shen Qingqiu and me in the Lingxi Caves."
"Liu-shidi, you should most definitely keep your fantastical delusions to yourself," Shen Qingqiu snapped. "In what world would I ever need the help of a beast of burden whilst cultivating? Perhaps that's something you would need, but—"
"You tried to save me from qi deviating."
Shen Qingqiu's protests cut off.
"I got caught up by a heart demon. Was being too hasty. I couldn't... I didn't realize it was you. I attacked you, and you tried to help me."
"As if I would!" he yelled, smacking his fan in the palm of his other hand. "Who has time to help you, huh?! I was busy cultivating on my own!"
Although Liu Qingge frowned, he continued. "We woke up in the same cave, and Cheng Luan had your blood on its blade. And your qi... I know you tried to help."
"Foolishness. There's no need to listen to him. Who'd help you? Ridiculous."
Shen Qingqiu turned away, raising his fan to cover the lower half of his face as he scowled. When he caught Yue Qingyuan giving him a starry-eyed look, his nose scrunched, feeling his cheeks heat as he turned further.
"...Well, Liu-shidi doesn't have any reason to lie," Wei Qingwei murmured. "And he's never knowingly told a lie before, as far as I'm aware."
"But Shen Qingqiu is denying it so vehemently. Are we sure it wasn't a hallucination from a qi deviation Liu-shidi had himself?" Qi Qingqi asked.
"I know what I saw. And what I felt. The ram was there, and it circulated my qi before helping Shen Qingqiu."
"Hah! Helping me, you say? This lord understands now, that you'd stoop low to drive me even lower! How could an animal help you where I could not?"
"U-Uhm..."
Shen Qingqiu's furious gaze snapped to Shang Qinghua, who let out a mousey squeak before he tried to collect himself. He glanced around at the others worriedly.
"Ah...if this humble one could suggest...erh...I mean, if it wasn't too long ago, perhaps we could, uhm, check your meridians? If there's unknown qi, then that would be evidence, wouldn't it?"
"Hmmh. Looks like you can have a good idea once every blue moon," Qi Qingqi huffed. "In addition to that, we could investigate the Lingxi Caves for any foreign qi. That is, if the ram was there."
"There's absolutely no reason to go so far to investigate this ridiculous accusation," Shen Qingqiu snapped. "Of all things, that creature outside is a ram. We consume it on our dinner plates. A cat? Perhaps. A dog? Less likely. But a sheep?"
As he continued to argue, Mu Qingfang rose from his seat and moved to Liu Qingge's side. The man easily offered his wrist to the doctor for inspection.
"...Hmm. There are signs here that you did indeed qi deviate. You've recovered well...however... The scarring to your meridians happened perhaps a year ago at least, and its almost faded entirely. Any other qi has already integrated into your own."
"And I suppose there's no real point in checking Shen Qingqiu," Zui Xian Peak Lord Zhao Qinglian sighed, swirling a small gourd with his peak's famous wine.
"How much longer will this meeting last? We're only discussing a ram. One from my peak, mind you all."
"Amitabha. Despite our differences, we have come together as one family, as one sect. Is this ram truly much different? If it has indeed saved two of our peak lords and rescued even one disciple, how could we repay it with violence?"
The others quieted as Ku Xing Peak Lord Tang Qingnian spoke. He gazed quietly at the others with a serene expression.
"This meeting directly requests this humble one's opinion, and thus, he shall express it. The ram should be repaid with kindness and respect instead of brutality. Wherever it ends up among us, why not treat it as one of our own?"
"Tang-shidi, are you suggesting we treat the ram as a pet?" Yue Qingyuan asked.
"Less a pet and more a revered creature that has risked its life to rescue even one of ours. That is how your ninth peak lord votes. Amitabha."
After a moment of quiet, Shang Qinghua raised his hand.
"This one, ah, agrees with that. So...two votes for...er...a reverent status for the ram?"
He wrote that down when Tang Qingnian nodded.
"Hmmh. This one can respect your point of view, Tang-shidi. That being said, this fifth peak lord doesn't see a reason to take a ram that Xin Ya has raised away from the peak or the one who owns it. I vote that we return the ram to Xin Ya," Qi Qingqi hummed, fanning herself.
"This lord agrees with Qi-shijie," Yang Qingning replied. "The ram should be Sun-shixiong's to deal with as he pleases. Though, this one hopes to receive a horn from it in the future, whatever the decision is."
"A ram shank would pair wonderfully with wine, wouldn't it? ...Ah, don't look at me like that, Tang-shixiong. That was callous of me. Ahem... This one votes to return it to Xin Ya."
"I think there's more to the ram...but I'm not so sure about revering it. I suppose it's only reasonable to return it to Xin Ya."
"Liu-shixiong, are you sure it wasn't a hallucination? That the ram saved you," Ren Qingyao asked, looking to the Bai Zhan Peak lord.
"I didn't hallucinate that."
"Hmm... This eleventh peak lord votes to return it to Xin Ya, but we should keep it alive for further study."
"Erhm...so, I guess that's option three," Shang Qinghua murmured.
"...What Ren-shidi said."
"Ah, adding Liu-shidi, then."
"Just send it back to Xin Ya and let's be done with this," Shen Qingqiu grumbled. "This lord is expecting reparations, Sun-shidi."
"This one thinks we should take more time to understand the ram's place in all of this. If we return it to Xin Ya, perhaps we could keep it alive for now," Mu Qingfang added.
As Shang Qinghua wrote his vote, he gazed at the six votes to return the ram to Xin Ya without any guarantee for its life. Unless Yue Qingyuan used his authority as the sect leader to override their votes, the ram was likely headed for the slaughterhouse eventually. Of course, if Shen Qingqiu had voted to let the ram live, he surely would've done everything to ensure it.
Ahhh... And he'd wanted to get a better look and feel of the strange intruder. When he wrote the story, he was certain he hadn't written any special spirit sheep into it, especially not one that saved anyone. But not only did the ram interfere in his son's big fight against the elder demon, but it apparently saved Liu Qingge's life. He'd wanted it alive so he could study it, but with the way things were going...
He sighed and lit a candle in his heart for the ram. Herbivores had it rough.
Yue Qingyuan looked toward him, he cleared his throat and read out the voting results.
"So far, until the sect leader votes, we have, uhm... Two for reverence, three for Xin Ya under supervision, and six for Xin Ya, as Sun-shidi pleases."
"Then, it's decided, isn't it?" Sun Qingjian asked, standing from his seat.
"That is, unless the sect leader's vote is worth more than ours. Which would be understandable," Shang Qinghua murmured, looking away when Sun Qingjian glared at him. "A-As in, by three or four points. That should be enough, right?"
"You just want him to vote for us to revere the ram and make the vote a stalemate, don't you?" Qi Qingqi accused.
"What? No, no..."
"Why is this even an argument? Zhangmen-shixiong, most of the peak lords are in favor of returning the ram to me. By your favor, let us not waste each other's time with this matter any further."
The sect leader sighed, his expression calm. Then, he opened his mouth to speak.
But before he could, there was a loud bang on one of the entrance doors. Everyone stopped, listening.
There was some sort of commotion on the other side. Yelling. Someone got hit, letting out a cry.
Immediately, the peak lords were on edge, standing from their seats, their hands reaching and resting on their weapons.
Another bang. More commotion. More crying out.
Finally, the door gave way with a final bang—
—revealing a roughed-up Luo Binghe who apparently headbutted his way through the door's defenses.
After a moment of silence, he looked up, his forehead red and bruised, but miraculously not bleeding, breathing heavily as he stood firm, arms out to his sides and fists balled tightly.
Behind him, Cai Niu had one Qiong Ding disciple in a reverse triangle choke while grabbing and shoving the face of another disciple tugging on one of her pigtails.
Behind them both were several groaning and bruised Qiong Ding disciples laid out on the ground, with the disciple designated to hold the ram's lead standing still at the entrance doorway, looking panicked.
In the middle of it all, the ram stood remarkably still.
---
Shen Yuan had an active imagination. As a disciple flew over his head, a song he didn't know started playing in his head.
'Yup, that's me.'
He watched as Luo Binghe slammed shoulder-first into the door leading to the meeting room. You know, the one with all the peak lords in it. Also, despite judo not existing yet, Cai Niu did a perfect judo throw on a Qiong Ding disciple at least six or seven cun larger than her.
'You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.'
Another disciple tackled her from behind, taking the fight to the ground, which, apparently she was exceptionally good at. Made sense, considering she worked with farm animals all the time. Two disciples stopped Luo Binghe from ramming against the door again, but he'd started fighting them off, too.
'Well, it all started when, as I had just gotten the Xin Ya disciple holding my lead to lower his guard by acting like I wasn't going to fucking book it the instant his hand went slack, Luo Binghe and the girl who helped raise me arrived.'
Luo Binghe punched a disciple in the face, drawing blood. Cai Niu bit one on the hand, also drawing blood. Ah. So they were both born to Bai Zhan.
'She intimidated her own shixiong into giving her the lead before they both tried to casually make their way to the meeting room. However, despite saying they had been summoned, you know, like liars, the Qiong Ding disciples requested the summons slip they didn't have. So, they immediately went scorched earth and started Fight Club.'
As Cai Niu got a disciple into a chokehold, Luo Binghe tossed another down the (thankfully short) stairway up to the elevated meeting room. He took another look at the door, and he started rearing his head back, qi gathering...in his forehead?
Ah. He did teach him that, didn't he.
'And now, this ram cannot find an opening with which to escape, since going invisible now and leaving Binghe and the girl behind would be kind of terrible of me. So, now—"
Luo Binghe forced the door open with a headbutt, smashing through the, frankly, fairly weak wards on it, almost knocking one of the doors off their hinges. Impeccable execution. Probably should've strengthened himself a little more beforehand, but that's alright.
Besides, it wasn't like it was a bunker. Just a meeting room with the strongest expert cultivators under the sky. Who needed strong defensive wards on it with occupants like them?
'So! Nice to meet you, and goodbye! Go ahead and get your ram chop recipes prepared, cause I see no way of getting out of this! I'm dead! I'm so dead!! I've never been more dead before in my life!!'
Within the room, Yue Qingyuan's conserved gaze shifted from Luo Binghe to him.
'My life's a fucking nighmareeeee—'

SQH Time
Welcome to my SQH AUs! I've been making progress in filling out the peaks, so here's a round-up of what we have so far (everything rated T for Teen):
***
Peak 1: Yue Qingyuan
M/M, one-sided
~5,000 words
Summary:
The plan had seemed simple. It was a “for want of a nail,” situation, wasn’t it?
If Yue Qingyuan hadn’t been locked in the Ling Xi caves, he would have made it to the Qiu estate in time to rescue Xiao Jiu. If Shen Qingqiu was not a bitter person with ruined cultivation, he would not be so jealous of young Luo Binghe. And if Shen Qingqiu did not torment Luo Binghe when he was a disciple, and if Yue Qingyuan did not simply let it happen out of guilt, Luo Binghe would not have a reason to destroy Cang Qiong Mountain Sect.
So all Shang Qinghua had to do to save this ill-fated world (and most importantly, his own skin) was stop a young and desperate Yue Qingyuan from trying to force a connection with his future spiritual sword too soon.
Easier said than done.
Read here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/45829402
***
Peak 2: Shen Qingqiu
M/M
~12,000 words
Summary:
Alternatively titled, Shang Qinghua never met a meet-cute he couldn't screw up.
The story of how a pre-canon Shang Qinghua came to mean something to a future scum villain.
Read here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/33251491
***
Peak 3: Wei Qingwei
M/M
~13,000 words
Summary:
“Your shishu over on An Ding Peak has finally selected a successor, but the boy doesn’t have a sword yet. I want you to escort him to the sword wall and make sure it’s done.”
Wei Qingwei gets to know Shang Qinghua a little better as a result.
Read here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36499450
***
Peak 4: Shang Qinghua
***
Peak 5: Qi Qingqi
M/F, FWB
~5,000 words
Summary:
Qi Qingqi had heard it said that a woman’s heart was moved by admiration, while a man’s heart was moved by pity, but she’d always felt it was the other way around.
a.k.a Qi Qingqi takes her duties as Shang Qinghua's wingwoman seriously.
Read here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37415377
***
Peak 6: Unknown Peak/Peak Lord
(I have some ideas for this with a female OC, but haven't started it yet)
***
Peak 7: Liu Qingge
M/M
~10,000 words
Summary:
Liu Qingge was beautiful, and delicate, or so everyone assumed when they saw him, and he hated it.
Shang Qinghua was the big, dumb packmule of An Ding. Or so Liu Qingge first assumed.
But Shang Qinghua is cursed with very, very bad luck and Liu Qingge is about the only cultivator strong enough, fast enough, and resourceful enough to keep him out of harm's (or at least inconvenience's) way. When the two are assigned as mission partners, Liu Qingge steps up.
Read here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37841869
***
Peak 8: Mu Qingfang
Platonic
~8,000 words
Summary:
This boy who always scurries off as soon as the lecture ends in a flurry of papers is never in the dining hall, has no bed in the dorms, and no shift in the infirmary. Asking around about him only gets Mu Fang blank looks and shrugs.
Whoever he is, and whatever color he may wear, he's not a Qian Cao disciple.

Peak 9: Ascetic Peak (~OC)
Platonic
~4,000 words
Summary:
Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky was an anti-social agoraphobic loser if there ever was one, albeit one with a talent for writing highly addictive and wildly entertaining stories. Who would live that kind of shitty, isolated life except by choice?
Wang Qingjie, Peak Lord of Ku Xing Peak, had a secret of his own, that should his fellow sect members been aware of it, would have had them shouting it from the rooftops for their own gain—which was why he had never revealed it.

Summary:
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of a bad work environment, must be in want of a co-worker to go out for drinks with so they can shit-talk everyone else.
For Shang Qinghua, that co-worker is the peak lord of Zui Xian Peak.

Summary:
This is not a “raising the protagonist” fic. This is a “raising the protagonist’s future wife” fic. Or rather, it’s Shang Qinghua trying to be a mentor to a teenage (demon) girl with anger management issues and bad decision making skills, and his debatable success.

Alrighty, here are the sentences for "urban legend sy" @shelfthe-reader @lizhly @loyal-house-of-lupin @hurricanebreeze @oriharaizayadividesintoslytherin @zyrafowe-sny @post-and-out @aparticularbandit @tamsinswriting
Of course, Mu Qingfang’s brief period of relaxation has to be broken by one of his martial siblings. Of course, he cares about them; it’s just that his temper tends to surface more often with them around. It also brings back memories of his disciple days, especially towards the ascension of the previous generation. So Mu Qingfang stifles the instinctive sigh when Liu Qingge walks up to him with one of his youngest junior disciples scruffed like a cub in his hand. Liu Qingge is usually one of his marital siblings he can handle well enough, speak to the man clearly enough and he’ll at least listen. It’s when this shidi of his digs in his heels and gets stubborn that the headaches begin. Foisting the squirming disciple up higher, Liu Qingge announces calmly, “This one nearly rolled down a cliff.” The disciple was red-faced as they squirmed, tears welling in their eyes as they stared at Mu Qingfang. Mu Qingfang looked at his shidi in the eyes, “Please put them down.” His voice was calm as he waved over a senior disciple. Liu Qingge easily put the disciple on the ground, letting the child scramble away and take shelter next to the senior disciple. “Thank you for fetching them shidi, but please don’t carry my disciples around like that.” Liu Qingge nodded, crossing his arms, “I suppose not all disciples are like my brats.” Mu Qingfang barely kept from raising a hand to rub at his forehead, “Where have you been by the way shidi? Zhangmen-shixiong said he summoned you nearly a month ago.” Liu Qingge blinked “I was traveling with a friend, he needed help with something.” The Bai Zhan Peak Lord stared at his shixiong’s face for a moment before adding, “I will always return for Mingyan.” The older of the two peak lords shook his head at his shidi, “That’s not the worry here, shidi. Zhangmen-shixiong wanted you to bring back Yuan-shidi with you.” Liu Qingge didn’t respond for a moment, “Who is Yuan-shidi?” He asked, confusion plain on his face. Closing his eyes for a moment, Mu Qingfang waved away the small group of disciples that didn’t know to make space for peak lords having a conversation. “Please wait a moment shidi.” Mu Qingfang turned to one of the adept disciples on the trip, and hopefully his Head Disciple soon enough, Meng Nuan. It took only a moment for the young woman to understand and begin herding the young disciples away from the peak lords. “Liu-shidi, do you remember who the Head Disciple for Ling You was?” Liu Qingge thought for a moment before shaking his head, “I don’t remember his name, just his sword.” Of course, when it came to swords Liu Qingge was almost as bad as Wei Qingwei. “The Head Disciple of Ling You was Shen Yuan-shidi. He left the mountains before the previous generation ascended. He went on a mission, and couldn’t be found in time to ascend to Peak Lord status with the rest of us.” Mu Qingfang spoke slowly, pausing between words hoping it would spark Liu Qingge’s memory. Liu Qingge stood there his arms crossed as he thought. “What was the name of his sword?” Mu Qingfang mentally decided that he’d be quizzing his shidi on memory problems later. “Xia Shan.” Liu Qingge thought for a moment more before nodding, “The one that ran around with Shen Qingqiu. He didn’t want to spar with me.” Mu Qingfang chuckled, the strain behind his eyes loosening just a bit “Perhaps he would have agreed if shidi didn’t have the habit of throwing those who lost down the mountain.” Liu Qingge shrugged awkwardly, “That was how Shizun did it, climbing the mountain was to improve stamina and focus.” Mu Qingfang shook his head but turned to gather his disciples, Liu Qingge following after him. “You didn’t read a single letter from the sect after you sent your report, did you?” “No.” “I thought so.”

Preview for HSY chapter 6! After YQY's kidnapping!
~~~~~~~~~~
Oh. Oh, shit.
Shen Qingqiu would just ignore that little slip!
“The point is, there is no deal between us. Especially not that I would be your empress!”
“So you didn’t marry me of your own will?”
It felt like the entire Peak took a breath, and Shen Qingqiu realized this little melodrama was happening in front of everyone who cared enough that their Sect Leader was kidnapped to come to Qiong Ding Peak and aid the search effort. That included, by necessity, at least one representative of each Peak, and a good portion of Qing Jing. Oh, and most of Qiong Ding Peak, too, since they didn’t want to be seen as treasonous as their Shizun.
The Elixir of Truth was powerful, but Shen Qingqiu had some free will. “In dreams, yes.”
“You know my powers, Shen Qingqiu. And you know a dream is never just that with me.” He walked up to him and Shen Qingqiu didn’t understand why he was doing this. He couldn’t ask him, not with their communication spell long ended. “The blood exchange was binding.”
“I don’t carry your blood para…”
There was a slight but very present shifting of something in Shen Qingqiu’s body. It was light as he felt something brush against his lip from the inside. It was minuscule, but certainly there.
“I won’t steal you from your life here,” Luo Binghe said, staring at Shen Qingqiu’s pale face steadily. “I will not harm anyone here. And will not renounce my claim to being your Second Husband, or to you being my First Husband and Empress as soon as I can bring you to my court.”
“Second Husband!” Wei Qingwei shouted, coming forward, flushed and fuming. “Sect Leader Shen! Please explain!”
“He’s promised, isn’t he?” Luo Binghe said, not breaking eye contact with Shen Qingqiu. “To Prince Tianxuan-Jun. This is his world, not mine. But Shen Qingqiu is one I have crossed space and time to find; I won’t let a little treaty keep me from my soulmate, as confirmed by Madam Meiyin.”
…
“So disciple Luo Binghe. Is Prince Tianxuan-Jun.” Wei Qingwei said.
“The family resemblance is rather obvious,” Ning Yingying said under her breath. Which… yeah, that was true when you looked at the Emperor, Empress, and Luo Binghe together.
“Do you love me?” Luo Binghe asked him.
“Yes,” Shen Qingqiu answered. “And it’s complicated.”
“How so?”
“Binghe, you just killed the second in command of this sect!”
“He was in the middle of trying to assault you. I would have taken my time as he deserved, but your safety was my priority.”
“He did what.” Ning Yingying prompted darkly and okay, he didn’t really need that spread around.
“Yes, and I appreciate you for that,” Shen Qingqiu conceded. “But I haven’t agreed to marry you outside of dreams, let alone be your empress! And I need to talk to my first husband before I can take on a second!”
“You already have.” Shen Qingqiu startled as he looked at Tianlang-June’s severe expression from where he had backed up to stand beside his wife. Oh, it was never good when the emperor got serious. “Under demonic law, if you exchanged blood with the intent to marry, unless under clear duress, you’re married.”
“I knew,” Luo Binghe said, Zhuzhi-Lang slithering away to stop being a barrier between them. It felt like everyone had backed away from him, leaving him at the center of everything with Luo Binghe. “I knew that marriage would be binding here as long as my blood parasites took.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because you are the most important person in my life. And didi is the most important person in yours. There was no other way to make sure you stayed with me once he returned. And now you can’t escape me.”
This was so, so fucked up. But Shen Qingqiu heard the hurt in his voice, saw the need he had, and forgave him instantly, because he was Luo Binghe. “You didn’t need to do this.”
“Yes, I did. I’m not a good person, Qingqiu. I’ve had to take everything I’ve ever had; your hand in marriage is no different. I have schemed and manipulated and pushed you to this point. If that makes me the villain, then so be it.”
I love the idea that post-canon, Luo Binghe sits in on the Peak Lord meetings, and someone is like “Ok but for real what is he doing here” and SQQ is like “He’s my disciple, he has every right to be here!”
Liu Qingge, who has started to bring Yang Yixuan to the meetings since YYX is his head disciple by virtue of being his only disciple: “You’re supposed to bring your HEAD disciple to these meetings. And you did!—Yes, hello, Ming Fan. Luo Binghe is not your HEAD disciple. So I echo Wei Qingwei in asking: WHY IS HE HERE???”
SQQ: “Do YOU want to be the one to tell Binghe he can’t come anymore?”
Liu Qingge glances at Luo Binghe, fully expecting to see Binghe shooting him the death glare he has come to know so well, and is flummoxed to see that Binghe is giving him the Binghe Puppy Dog Eyes instead. He is so thrown off by this that he just croaks, “No,” and spends the rest of the meeting sulking that Binghe beat him in a battle of wills by playing dirty.
Art for this.
First Shen Jiu:
I'm torn between getting back his eye or not. I think he could go the one track mind and just get back what he absolutely needed for his revenge arc, or maybe take it a bit slower, remind himself not to be rash, and get a complete body. Or actually, maybe his original body is remade sans eye, since he's going to get a complete plant body anyways.
He could go the practical undyed white, or long term investment darker color so stains would be harder to see. Black and red are no-no though, bcs that LBH's color. His wives wear it.
Now Qi Qingqi:
I have this headcanon that Qi Qingqi is known for using what was usually taken as a secondary support weapon as her main weapon to a terrifyingly efficient degree, innovating the art. In the battlefield, she's prominently displayed as giant ribbons, floating distractingly and whooshing around, enemies wouldn't know where she'd be and her ribbons serve as attackers, and support and defense to her allies. I'd drwa something but i'm too lazy right now.
Blue, lavender, and purple.
Mu Qingfang:
As you can see, he'd taken to a hat these days. He's got a qiankun pouch in easy reach and some other emergency supplies in a snap. His weapons are usually a wide area poison he'd release from his billowing sleeves and spread with a nifty wood qi (I know that may not make sense but one day I might write something about how I see the Wu Xing elemental system and no it's not just a substitute for western five elements). He loves his needles and dagger too but he's not known to fight until cornered.
Some soft orange and peach shades.
Wei Qingwei:
I'd initially planned to give him four more swords at his hip but I got lazy. But yeah, ALBG, Wei-shidi carries multiple swords around, partly because feels great and also because he's constantly working on them even on the move. He didn't use to do that when he was a Peak Lord.
Blue, red, and black, A softer and duller black than LBG is known for though. Very important.
Ning Yingying, the empress:
The position does not actually come with any responsibilities or substantial power (other than LBG trusting her to arrange the other women to have servants, food, shelter, etc. of their own, which, technically, NYY could just not do and not get any consequences for it). It just means that you better bend to her every request or be very aware that Luo Binghe is very sensitive and active to any complaints of his wives. Ning Yingying for the most part does relaxing things like reading in the library, eating, painting- things like that. And, despite her cheery disposition, is known to be low-key unreadable. No one knows what's going on in her head, really. Liu Mingyan is her closest sister and when the other isn't on the hunt for her vengeance, would also frequent the library with her.
Black and red, obviously. But a red closer to pink. That print on the dress is red on black.
Liu Mingyan, the avenger:
........ I forgot the rest of her sword but she's basically holding one to unsheathe here. The ponytail is a new addition ALBG. You can guess why. Very practical and plain. Together with Sha Hualing, the most active to LBH's campaign.
Red top, and the rest is black. The black veil would show her most prominent feature- mourning.
Sha Hualing the general/saintess:
The ribbon? Liu Mingyan had never really gotten the hang of it as much as her Shizun did. And while not trained in the Xian Shu cultivation, Sha Hualing's fighting style lend more to a similar theory of it. She certainly preened the first time she'd crossed paths with Qi Qingqi after receiving the ribbon gift, although she was no match and had to abandon attempting crossing ribbons with her, it had been a satisfying occasion seeing the cultivator's apoplectic rage.
Red. Just a brighter red than she used to wear beforr being married, and the jewelry are of a rare, demonic stones known for being pitch black.
Shang Qinghua:
Our spymaster. The traitor himself. Those squinty fox eyes we find on spy characters (might be natural or might be bcs of having to read the syte-ehem).
So here's the thing, I have this headcanon that Shang Qinghua is Airplane and had always been Airplane. Shang Qinghua is basically his medium in the PIDW, he'd created him to be MBJ's trusted companion/slash tool. Basically, crux of the matter is that he'd created him, fashioned him after himself. So while I personally believe that SY and SJ are completely different people and souls, SHQ and XTDF are one and the same, always had been. In this version in accordance to this headcanon, the SQH that SJ will come across is someone he'd discover is really fucking angsty (how many of his discipkes, hallmasters, friends, acquaintances, and etc. died), disillusioned and jaded to his own existance, a comic relief in an he's-off-his-rockers-and-playing-it-for-laughs and even SJ is Concerned, and maybe might latch onto what changes he'd managed with his scum villain son. (Transmigrators they may be, but there's a difference between author and reader, reader only had as much influence as the author allow and unfortunately, the entire problem is that SQH had allowed his readers too much influence).
(i have this one imaginary scene where, out of the blue, SQH just turns to SJ and says "it's always been me. It's always been me here." at this point it's solidly established that there's something off with the guy and the Peak Lords had since realized that and, like YQY and SQQ's rather disturbing relationship, unanimously and regularly ignored it. Politely.)
Or we can just go with not-so-plain old OG! SQH with no meta.
Yes, I'm giving him knee-high boots and a little boob window there. Whatever SQH you want deserves to be a little slutty.
Black. Mostly black, leaning in to the ninja aesthetic here, with one single blue ribbon in his hair.
_________________________________________
I also want to draw Ming Fan and Gongyi Xiao, and Zuzhi-lang. And of course Luo Binghe.
Later. When I feel like it.
I'll most likely add other things to these but.
Again. Later.
I see a lot of examination and discussion of how Shen Jiu had the setting/backstory of a protagonist, could've been a protagonist if not for a twist of fate, and in a way his shape is still a protagonist when SY literally piloted his body- but not. (I think we all get hung up a lot bcs he didn't become protag like he deserves but he also didn't become a full on villain, who's still a protag of his own story, but just a scum villain because of the misunderstanding, somewhere along the way something happened and held him back in that in-between place, unable to tip over completely one way or another.)
It's often brought up that he's undergone his own blackening into a scum villain and I think about that a lot, but you know, his settings never actually trailed off too far from the protagonist setting, with the 'from the lowest to the highest' template- idk if that makes sense, but anyways, I of course have read more than my fair share of fix-its, but often, if not always, it's a time travel scenario.
But WHAT IF:
But what if Shen Jiu, rather than swallowing the shards of Xuan Su, uses it to cut himself free of the immortal binding ropes or whatever is stopping his qi. Which is not LBH's parasite blood I don't think they have that ability but whatever. I mean, you'd ask how would he, without arms and legs, escape? A nifty thing we're all familiar with called author's will.
A time when LBH is away to deal with one thing or another, and SJ, after years of lifeless staring, and even more lifeless staring in the aftermath of YQY's death, moves. The thing about not attempting to escape for a long, long time, is that people lower their guards and grows complacent, and it's not as if there's anyone checking up on him to see if he's eating meals or whatever, LBH is more than happy to get suggestions from his wives for torture ideas but was very controlling of who gets to inflict it (Xuan Su was just left there and he did manage to swallow it). So Shen Jiu, with only Xuan Su's blade and it's inherent property as a spirit sword, not even an active one which means on one hand there's no active qi in it but the latent one from its materials, and on the other hand it's not bound to anyone and was more malleable, whatever. ANYWAYS. Skip.
Shen Jiu knowing of one thing or another, or several things that's a combination of common healing theory, rarer healing practices, less than righteous surgery techniques, equals bastardized body repair and ends with him frankensteining himself with some shaky qi threads. The needle is a piece of Xuan Su. He doesn't blink bcs his pain receptors are no more.
Scenario A.) I want SJ to play the 'mysterious wandering protag with a mysterious dark past and a mission for vengeance', only wanting to kill LBH before planning to retire from existance himself and he goes with his cool and angsty scarred body that he'd DIY'ed. The blood parasites are solved by something ruthlessly self-destructive only someone with SJ's coldness and lack of actual desire to continue breathing would do without even some initial testing. This would be done quick and dirty to keep LBH from teacking him. OR/AND
Scenario B.) I say or-slash-and because the scenario A could be cut off or maybe they could be combined. The handy dandy sun and moon dew!!! Plant it, grow it, kill himself, and recover his full potential all those years ago! Of course this would take quite a while, so he might need scenario A anyways. And conveniently enough, it puts him in the path of....... dun dun dun ZUZHI-LANG!!! And TLJ by proxy. Allies get! Maybe! Because TLJ wants to kill the sects, right? But his son did it here for him, so maybe he wouldn't bother anymore. Or maybe it's not enough bcs he hadn't killed all of everyone, so let daddy fix that right up. Or/and, LBH feels threatened and threatens in proper blackened protg manner and TLJ threatens back and flat out stomps him.
So. Maybe!
To expand on the rest of the Jianghu, the other 4 Peak Lords we know are alive, SQH, QQQ, WQW, and MQF. Bcs we don't have definite details on the timeline of PIDW, we can conveniently fill in space, put a lot of cause and effect, the cultivator world is in an uproar by the reveal that LBH is a demon (it's not as if they were okay with that, duh, if they'd known he was a demon, SJ's actions would've been treated as the only logical thing to do) and YQY is dead, AND SQH is a traitor, so that's down two - or rather three with SQQ- influential people, two of which were heavily involved in how everything is run (SQQ, while not actually lazy in his cultivation, was indeed lazy and unmotivated in most tasks that involved coordinating with others).
I really don't think SJ would feel even a little bit betrayed by SQH. To be betrayed you have to trust first, and his whole thing was that he never trusted anyone from CQMS. For SJ, SQH didn't betray them so much as his loyalty just belonged to another. Still would kill the rat next time he sees him tho (spoiler alert, he doesn't).
So, I'm of the belief that Airplane's drafts included the Peak Lords as big boss too, where TLJ is the big boss of the demonic realm, they're the ones for the cultivation world, and my headcanon is that they were purposely met with sudden deaths one way or another in PIDW, and none actually died in a straight up fight, which is on brand with LQG's deviation, SQQ's trial, and YQY's thousand arrows (that I say are one of those bullshit golden finger artifacts of PIDW, maybe something like 'heavenly damned arrows of a thousand rays' that always flies true to it's target and could seal rare level pokemon rip-offs beasts for every single one. No reason that they would be normal arrows, really). SQH might have fought or just been completely taken off guard by his lord killing him out of the blue with no chance to wriggle out. But Like QQQ was backstabbed. WQW was poisoned. MQF sacrificed himself for a beloved disciple (and that's why WQW died because he set out to find his martial brother but didn't know he'd already died. Awww).
(connected to another headcanon, the other five unnamed Peak Lords died long ago in the first battle against TLJ when he was sealed)
These people were meant to be a team. Or at least a set.
So SJ goes on an epic quest of getting power to kill his Qi-ge's killer via sun and moon dew possibly while he gets his tactician brain creating up something to kill LBH (OP characters are not killed in straight up fights, as we've learned, they're tricked or betrayed) and accidentally finding and gathering his siblings who, at that point, happen to have become guardians of havens and refuge communities in pockets of the world that holds the remnants of cultivator and human realm, where the demonic forces have spread far and wide in every realm. It's initially written to later, eventually be conquered by LBH. For example there's a hidden cave passage that leads you to Mu Qingfang's hidey hole, a pocket dimension with much rural fantasy aesthetic, housing parients and normal mortals with farms and houses woven to giant trees. Wei Qingwei is found underground creating weapons and defenses day in and day out to source to QQQ and MQF. Qi Qingqi with her armies always on the move, squads spread out in the realms, resisting against the demonic forces, helping Mu Qingfang rescue stragglers, from her old fairycore ensemble shifting to dragoncore, rarely resting with her inedia in the hollow of a mountain.
(xianxia aesthetic, whimsical aesthetic, aesthetic aesthetic aesthetic!!!!!!!!).
They..... Well. It's an awkward reunion.
SJ was shocked to meet the first lord sibling he'd seen since his imprisonment, shown only by a slight widened eyes, but emotions quickly gone. His first words is, "Do you wnat to kill the beast?"
He didn't care about the answer, if they said yes, then alright, if they said no, then he'd just walk away.
They say yes. Every one.
So, the rest really depends on how you interpret his relationship with them before the trial. Was it a case of it's exactly what it looked like and they oh so very righteously hated him and he hated them back, a bunch of misunderstandings and not-so misunderstandings building up?
Did they have mutual respect and mutual awareness that everyone in the room they hold their PL meetings in were assholes of different flavors? Did they expect Shen Jiu to save himself in the trials, was dissapointed when he didn't but since he didn't give any indication of wanting to be saved, shrugged their shoulders and left him to his life, as they have always poked and snided at each other but always kept away from actually interfering with their lives (no matter how evil they thought the others were, because they may be evil, but they were still siblings and that just meant they had evil martial siblings. Love morally dubious group of PL but still ride and die)?
Or maybe they actually had a good relationship consisting of a lot of sharp teasing and reckless verbal and physical lashing and tantrums that you can really only get away with to your siblings, but was twisted by outside perpective?
And, on the way, maybe he learns to form relationships properly, with people that he loved nothing like the all-consuming soul twisting and mutually hurtful and destructive way he dedicated everything to Yue Qingyuan (from his loyalty to his shrivelled love and every hurtful words).
Just. Friends. Family. Siblings.
Imagine SJ eventually wandering off, with a burnt down Peak that would never again beholden him to promises, broken and otherwise. Grieving, yes, but somehow at peace than he'd ever been in. A very long time?
Ming Fan, who'd perhaps been in Qi Qingqi's Fairy Haven (of course that's the name, we've got a theme people) that was the group that consisted of people that bayed for the Emperor's blood or just the more active cultivators (with GYX mayhaps), a loyal disciple reunited with his Shizun. Or mayne he'd been the one to have found SJ as a human stick and helped him get spare body parts.
I imagine in this world, once Luo Binghe is... out of the picture, one way or another, busy dying or busy having an appropriately dramatic amnesia arc for him to develop character development, NYY takes over as the Empress, with her court of demoness and humans, and Harems becomes synonymous to Council. LMY her right hand helping keep everyone in line, who are also partially managed by SHL, who weighted her options and pros and cons and found establishing her position as left hand pretty good for now. The rest can come later. Imagine NYY growing up, not in brute strength bcs that wasn't how she was taught, nor is it her strength, but perhaps in a way that SJ would idly wonder if perhaps he should've endorsed her to Qiong Ding. Not all harem members stay of course, and some had to die. Ning YingYing becomes the First Empress of the age of peace in the unified two realms and first order of business is secure her influence. Second is ban slaves. Third is to encourage a tentative cooperation between humans and demons.
(Additional note: LBH having a protagonist halo doesn't make him unkillable, the death just has to meet several requirements, like being suitably glorious and impactful, and also maybe tragic- ehem killed by his own father or shizun, and seeing his washerwoman mother at his last moments. The protagonist is just another tool to set up the story and evidently, genre change is not impossible.)
(I imagine a confrontation between SJ and LMY early on that goes along the lines of SJ saying, "Wouldn't you know better than most, the thirst for vengeance for a brother's death?)
What if SJ's fix-it comes after PIDW, you know. PIDW being his tragic backstory. A slave who climbed so high despite the past clinging heavy on his shoulders, and then falling down lower than he'd ever been and resolving his issues and then climbing back even higher with more stable footing.
Qiu Haitang, Yue Qingyuan, Liu Qingge, their Five Unnamed Martial Siblings, Luo Binghe- regrets, and triumphs, all part of his story to mull over whenever he reaches the top of random hills and sets out his tea set. It's a bittersweet plot I like thinking about.
People tend to adapt the speech patterns of other people around them, so, like, on one hand, taking things more seriously, Shang Qinghua can definitely “fix up” his speech when needed and it’s interesting that he retained as much as he did from his past life. But on the other hand, taking an even crackier approach to an already cracky situation, it’s really funny to think about Airplane Bro stubbornly but accidentally infecting the people around him with modern slang.
He may not be particularly social or particularly well-liked, but he can talk a lot when he wants to, and he does have an influential position and a certain je-ne-sais-quoi in his general bearing. We never see Shang Qinghua giving a shit about his disciples, but those impressionable young things are probably still looking towards their peak lord, even if he’s considered an unimpressive one. And An Ding, being a logistics peak, goes everywhere and talks to everyone.
What he’s done doesn’t hit Shang Qinghua until he’s chatting with Yue Qingyuan one day about peak business and Yue Qingyuan says verbatim, “Hm, no, I don’t like that other sect leader. He has, hm, how do you say it? Super bad vibes.” And Shang Qinghua goes, “Sorry, what did you just say to me???”
But the consequences don’t hit Shang Qinghua until, early on in his transmigration, Shen Yuan gets hit with someone like Wei Qingwei saying, “Oh, shixiong! Hey, dude!” And Shen Yuan goes, “WHAT.”
And Shen Yuan immediately stomps around the sect, searching for the other transmigrator and seething over the fact that some transmigration amateur has taught the locals to say things like, “WTF,” and, “Oh, that’s a sick move.” It ruins the traditional atmosphere of the genre, Airplane Bro!!!
