Who is Selene?

Gemstones of the Moon

Moonstone, selenite, pearl, and labradorite are some gemstones that are associated with the moon:

Moonstone

This gemstone is named for its resemblance to the moon and its shimmery appearance that changes with the moon's phases. It's associated with the moon's energies and is often used in rituals related to the full moon and new moon. Moonstone is also said to help with sleep and is sometimes considered an alternative birthstone for people born on Mondays.

Historically, in Vedic mythology, Moonstone was said to be “made of solidified moonbeams” and was said to have been embedded into the forehead of the god, Ganesh, who is connected with the Moon. The ancient Greeks and Romans also believed that this stone was formed from the light of the Moon. (1)
