So as some of you may know if you've been following my silly little ramblings these past 25 Weeks, I was able to get my wife into being interested in Warhammer. She's more a fantasy person. So she had been looking forever at and showing interested in Age of Sigmar. I also have some interest in potentially getting in AoS, but I'm not 100% there yet when it comes to my decision making. I definitely want to give it a shot at the very least.
My old Warhammer store actually lost its manager for some reason and they've been clearing out the back of the store. Apparently there was a bunch of stuff back there that just never made it to the main store area. One of those things was a still sealed Seraphon Refresh Army Box with the new Slann Starmaster and premium Battletome. I know that AoS 4th Edition is coming out. So while the Codex itself isn't as useful, the entire boxset was exactly what my wife was looking for. It had a ton of variety when it came to her choice of models and she already really liked the concept of Lizard People riding Dinosaurs.
I stole one of her Saurus Warriors to paint them in the scheme that she's interested in painting them in. It was a little different to do since this is technically skin(?) and I'm used to painting armor. So I did my best and I think it looks pretty neat. She's not too worried about all the warriors looking the same since she kinda wants to have some varity of color for her army which I agree with. They're lizards they should all have fun colors. I hope when she evetually paints all of her models and that she's happy with how they turned out. I know she's gonna do some really fun stuff with them.
Zombies done for Age of Sigmar. This was one of those pieces that I super hated when I finished it but seems to be alright looking back on it. Moral of the story, don’t beat yourself up!
Another painting. Is a well-lit photograph of a painting better than a scan of middling quality?
I’ve been reading through Liber Chaotica and had to illustrate my own chaos tribesman. Only my second attempt at painting on a 2-D plane with my miniature paints, commonly known as “painting.”
Finally got some good pics of these fellas. I painted them a long time ago but I am still very happy with how they came out. Check out more pics under the break!
Well, I've put together and had all of these AoS Miniatures kind of sitting around and collecting dust ever since I bought them. My wife has been very slowly knocking away at her Seraphon army so I made the decision to prime a majority of the remaining models I hadn't primed so that she can start painting them as soon as she's able.
Since I was doing that I decided to take care of some of my own models as well. I have a lot of stuff that I need to finish painting as well.
I didn't really realize how many models my wife has for her Seraphon army. We got them for her around 3rd Edition of AoS and now that we're well into 4th Edition it's kind of funny seeing how a good portion of her models probably won't see play for a bit.
That's okay though because that just means that she can take her time painting those models in particular since she's in no rush to get them ready for any games any time soon.
You also get a bit of a sneak peak into what I eventually plan on painting in the future. All of my models are primed in black while my wife's are primed in grey. She prefers more vibrant colors and a lighter primer helps with that.
This posse is a kind of wild-west meets classic fantasy necromancy. From left to right; a big boned farmer, a vampiric mayor, the priest who found the old gods’ bones to revive them, a Frankensteined Undertaker, and an animated set of armour possessed by the town’s blacksmith.
I wanted a proper grimdark set of minis for Forbidden Psalm, a game that’s compatible with Mork Borg that I’ve been getting really into.
One of the darkest sets of miniatures I’ve ever painted, here’s an example of the colour balance;
(As you can see here how small my miniatures usually are, Northstar on left, Gamesworkshop on right).
