something that is like the baseline of amys entire character to me is that shes lonely. shes clingy and physically affectionate in a way none of her friends really are, shes always getting pushed aside and left behind. yeah, she helps out people she doesnt know because shes a nice person, but also, she sees part of herself in them. she wont leave someone else behind because she knows the feeling —and more importantly, hates the feeling. if she doesnt have somebody to stand by her and be there for her, then shes going to be that person for everybody else. something something her obsession with sonic is really just like a manifestation of that desire for closeness with someone, and she thinks that romance is the only way to get that. idk... this hedgehog can have so many abandonment issues.

Knubbler hcs (Fluff alphabet edition)

Ik I just posted a fluff list to do with CRP characters last post but I also wanna do it with Knubbler because this fucker has been on my mine for WEEKS and I gotta feed my fellow dick enjoyers

Obvious heads up on heavy hc stuff since we don't have much on this dude RAAAAAAAH + still developing my hcs

Long since its A-Z, not proof read and I wrote this in one sitting I need to be put down

Attraction-

Torn between wanting to say he has high standards but I'm a dickface shipper sooo (/lh)

I can't explain it but I feel like he'd be into the feistier people; more dominant and outspoken, that sort of thing, ballsy. Also balancing with being chill so it's not just. Constant energy

While he enjoys dragging you around and spoiling you (getting into that for D + G), he does enjoy time spent at home with you! Knubblers always been the type of person to sit by a fire reading a book with a glass of wine; in a robe of course

I don't have PDA on this list so imma let it be said, this man loves affection, giving and receiving. Absolutely adores being all over you at all times and not at all afraid to show you off

Going to the actual prompt he doesnt care if you're larger or smaller than him, if you sprawl yourself over his chest he will melt!!!! Hold each other!!!

Dates-

This man is going to pour so much money into these dates

Could just be because we saw him take Abigail out to dinner but my brain defaults to restuarant dates, but otherwise I feel he's also a museum enjoyer (historical, art, ect)

Emotion-

Of course since this for reader insert stuff I can't exactly say who's more emotional so we're relying on Knubbler

I feel like. He's moderate, based on his interactions with Dethklok

He's patient by a considerable amount but has his limits

Absolutely pours his heart and guts out to you when hes drunk, though, not that he doesnt already shower you with compliments and affirmations

Wanna put him at a 6.5/10 when sober, and solid 8/10 when drunk

Family-

He doesn't strike me as the type to want kids, honestly, not that he has anything against them though, it's simply not what he wants

I saw someone hc a while back that he would have a bunch of siblings and I'm HARD agreeing on that + adding my own thing that hes an uncle

Need to write a silly fic where he's assigned as babysitter for a day (I desperately need more solo/knubbler centered stuff)

Gift Giving-

Nearly every week or so he will buy you something from flowers to jewelry to stuffed animals to fancy chocolates to really anything

If you so much as mention vaguely wanting something hes pulling out his wallet

This dude is likely loaded (based on working for Dethklok and being successful prior judging by the newspapers at the end of episode 2) so he's not afraid to drop some cash for you

As for receiving gifts he doesn't hold you to the same standard regardless of your income but he would be thrilled with anything you give him, I feel like hes a jewelry guy but maybe that's just because I like drawing him with rings

I feel like he'd go bonkers for baked good though

Harsh-

You guys may butt heads but you guys probably wouldn't argue too much outside of the basic disagreements that happen in every relationship!! Usually apologies for lashing out (if he does that in that particular argument) but will refuse to apologize if there's an actual problem that needs to be addressed (if said problem is on your end)

King of compromises (learned trait from working with bands me thinks)

Injury-

Depends on the severity

Knows very very basic first aid (cleaning, applying pressure if it's an open bleeding wound, cool water if it's a burn, ect) but more than that he's lost

Swearing and a bit of panic if it's something more serious, this is true for if hes the one hurt as well

If you're the one hurt hes going to hover all over you. Oh nooo please dont tell him hes your savior/hero, please don't make him reel good for pampering you oh NOOOOOOO (stares)

Physical touch and gift giving! Sometimes the gift giving can get intense since hes so ready to treat you like royalty but he doesnt mean anything malicious by it

He goes either way I think, but leans further to no marriage

That doesn't mean hes any less committed to you, though

Oddity-

His laugh is the first thing I can think of. While I think the original is silly and cute in its own way, I'm kinda glad they changed it in the movie

He laughs at his own jokes and has a killer hair routine he follows religiously. Shitty innuendos, too. I am not going to let this man live down the hot dog thing and I KNOW it ain't a one off thing there is no way, this man gets no bitches (using Nathan's "you're horrible with women" comment as leverage)

Outside of that I dont think there's many quirks or habits that are worth mentioning

By law he has to call you Baby/Babe but I can also see him saying Hon/Honey, maybe even Sweetheart

Loves coming to you to ask if you wanna give a second opinion on something hes working on, work related or not! Hes more than confident in his skills regarding sound engineering, but he likes getting the attention and time from you

Skipping this because I'm truly stumped on trying to figure out how far hes willing to go in a relationship in terms of taking risks

Has a few secrets, ranging from personal stuff to things that ultimately don't concern you

And that's okay, as long as it's not anything that can screw you or the relationship over, privacy is necessary

Obligatory I have a funky sense of music and while I want to choose a song that fits the time period of the main show to the decades before I'm a bit lost. When Knubbler is upset he shuts himself off and tries to get over whatever funk hes in, usually a glass or two is involved

Occasionally he'll seek you out for comfort or validation

If you're the one upset he's already lending you an ear and offering a shoulder to lean on (metaphorically and literally), gets mad on your behalf if someone upset you and offers solutions if it was something else

I like to think that you guys dedicate nights for venting and unloading on drama and bullshit. Like two gossiping moms

Valentine-

He is not holding back

You wake up to breakfast and gifts. He takes you out all day for shopping, you guys come home to get ready for dinner and a movie

If there is a wedding you guys make sure it's straight out of a storybook; dream wedding basically

Since he's not too worried about getting married I'd assume it makes sense that he lends most the power to you when it comes to decorating

Urges you to communicate your feelings outwardly and verbally since hes not a mind reader, but he does pick up on certain behaviors to give him a general idea of how you're feeling

He doesn't want to push too hard, though, so he tries to offer an environment where there's open communication

Stealing this from my friend but hc that Knubbler actually would not know how to react to someone genuinely having an interest in him, at least in the beginning

Like he knows he's not the ugliest or the most horrible person but he doesnt think hes a heartthrob

Bonus hc I think his robo eyes can be taken out, like for charging and he has a lil case for them. Has a sleeping mask so nothing gets into his sockets + he understands how it looks to others (especially if they wake up half asleep in the dark and arent used to the empty sockets yet)

I'm back in my Bleach era, and I'm thinking about 3rd Division ships and interactions.

This could have been like five different shorter posts but I've had A Week (with a happy ending, but still A Week) and I'm not too motivated to organize my thoughts nicely 🫠

Okay lemme start by saying that Izuru is one of my faves in the whole manga, I started liking him after that one battle in the Aizen war, don't ask me about arcs, I don't remember what any of them are called. Anyhow.

His shikai is absolutely fascinating, and his whole philosophy about how fighting should be awful, so that people prefer peace. It's great that we have this perspective too, and it's so funny that he's in a story where all the fighting is a huge part of the fun. And how he gets so introspective and serious, and a bit mean sometimes (I lov him for it), and how he was initially in the 4th (!) and poetry and and and, he's just so cute, okay? Okay.

Ages ago when the manga was still unfinished, he and Gin Ichimaru were a very popular ship, and I wonder how people write it after the reveal about Gin's intentions. I have my own idea, might elaborate another day. I do like him btw, in my own way, I like to see him being absolutely awful and secretly not awful too. But even without the shippy context I still find it interesting.

See, I get a certain way with 3rd Division ships. It's like Schrödinger's ship to me, I ship it and at the same time I also crave a completely non-romantic version of it but with the same intensity of a relationship. And I also crave a secret third thing too, a slow burn where the characters are considering crossing the line, but each of them procrastinates because it would be different kinds of terrifying.

I want to talk about Izuru finding out about the whole Gin thing, and just when he thought he'd accepted the new normal - the betrayal, the regret, the outrage - it turns out that Gin was thinking something else entirely the whole time?? So then, how much of his own interaction with Gin was a lie? If the betrayal was a lie, then...?? We see Rangiku kinda trying to make sense of it all, but Izuru went through a whole thing too, and !! I wanna see!!!! I bet it wasn't fun at all, lol, and I want to see all of it.

Then here comes Rose. I can't say enough good things about Rose. I'm also a Rose but it's not my exact name either! And I have my own art form that brings me immense joy and cannot will not shut up about it ever. But enough about me, lol.

I'm interested in how Rose feels about getting his old job back, about how he's been coping with the whole hollowfication thing all this time - my idea is, composing music about it and making it subtle so as not to remind his friends about it too much - and now he meets this guy who, I imagine, is a complete mess after everything and isn't exactly in a hurry to trust someone new.

I've read and enjoyed a ton of things already, and what I want is to watch Rose approach Izuru at first like someone whose trust he endeavors to earn, and since he's a good judge of how people get along and relate to each other (Ichigo and Hiyori, Hacchi and Orihime), he knows that what's important now is to be himself (he couldn't avoid it if he tried) and not try too hard or overthink it, and to be honest.

And it turns out he's been yearning for something like that for ages, like, I don't know how much he and his buddies actually talked about how traumatic the hollowfication event must have been. But now here's Izuru who would benefit from having a boss who is like an open book and not afraid to be vulnerable. He's chill on the outside, but is it really that simple? Not if I'm writing it.

Also I want some comedy with them too, I want Rose to be a very quirky captain with unconventional ways to do Shinigami things, and not just because he was on Earth for so long, but because that's just his personality. And I want Izuru to be fascinated with how (my hc) Rose's take on the 3rd Division approach to fighting is a bit different, but it works: his love for music came first, and then he discovered he can use it to fight, but he'd much rather use it to entertain, so it has a purpose in time of peace too. After all, you can mess up your hair when you fight, and who wants that. Izuru doesn't know if he wants to facepalm or if he's in love.

I don't think it would terrify him right away, I think it would terrify him to realize that it's mutual. It's all good if it's just a fantasy, but if there's any chance at all that it could become reality, now that's a scary thought! But fortunately Rose isn't a scary person, I imagine he'd be patient with Izuru as he debates with himself and eventually approaches him first. I think he'd approach Rose in a way that's basically let's just cross all the lines asap, but Rose wouldn't want that cause it's not his style. He's read too many old-fashioned romance novels. I'm joking. Long story short it works out well eventually.

But I also kinda want the wait to never end 😂🙃

... Yeah!! 🥰 I sure do love me some complicated things.

Uggghhhhh I don't wanna write prose, I just wanna toss my ideas into the void 😂

I just wanna see these guys be happy separately or together I don't even care!

I also have some Rose x reader ideas, I saw that there are very few with him on here, and I know exactly what I'd like to see. That might actually be easier for me to write, I'm a bit more comf with that genre when it comes to writing.

I'm still craving for romantic hc for my canon x oc ship and I thought of these parts of my lore regarding Charlie and Maya's romance arc xD (I wanna share it because it's all over my head for years and I'm eager to share this one)

♥︎ Charlie will be the type to fall in love first but would constantly try to let his feelings for Maya away as he thinks it will be a distraction for his love of dragons (that's why he's always saying that dating isn't his thing) while Maya would be the type who slowly falls in love with someone after a lot of interactions. Maya's first crush was Felix Rosier, her house prefect which she fell in love at first sight to him. She immediately loses feelings for Felix after knowing he has a girlfriend (my OC Esme Allard) which makes her think that love at first sight will bring her towards negative results.

♥︎ Maya has a LOT of admirers and one of them is Alfred Jones, a Gryffindor student who's a year older than Maya who won't stop courting her during her 3rd year (and Alfred being a 4th year). Maya always rejects his courtship but Alfred being too overly confident, he didn't give up and still continues on courting her. This caught Charlie's attention and jealousy starts to build up in him though he couldn't do anything to it as insecurities stop his urge to confront Alfred.

♥︎ On their 4th year, Charlie and Maya interact a lot. Always sneaking to the Forbidden Forest to find something interesting (whether it is related to the curse vaults or not) and wouldn't eventually sleep outside of Hogwarts together after their hangout in the forest which both will be found by either Bill or Malachi who are very worried for them. (Also they mostly sleep on the seats of the Quidditch pitch xD).

♥︎ The two started dating at the end of their 4th year. Charlie sent an anonymous letter along with Maya's favorite flower (moonflowers) which he stole from the Herbology Classroom. Maya being skilled at knowing someone's hand writing especially the hand writings of her close companions, she knows who wrote the letter she received. Instead of sending her answer via letter, she said her answer in person which made some students surrounding them shocked at what they've heard.

The students be like:

"The female curse vault kid likes Charlie Weasley?"

"Wait, isn't Charlie Weasley the one who likes Maya Avery first?"

"No wonder the two were so close"

"Poor Alfred if he hears about this.."

SVCKSBCJ I'M KIDDING but yeah to me canon to me seems stuck in between treating hakuno as a character of her own but also a self insert even though the entire Point of her character was becoming a person of her own. this is especiaally prominent in later instalments methinks (the way they don't even refer to her by her name "hakuno kishinami" in her character description and just call her "master" or "heroine"....... some crimes cannot be forgiven actually-) so, well, i'll still try to keep up to date on canon hakuno content but i lost hope in it ever feeding me the hakuno content i crave 💔

General dating hcs pt.1 (Who Is the Red Queen?)

Mad Hatter

Though hatter isolates herself she's truly lonely and exhausted of the eternal teatimes she has. She only has Dormouse and The Hare, well at least the illusion that they're still there with her. So when you came into her life, willing to spend time with her, willing to talk with her, willing to dance at balls and parties and spend the eternal tea times with her feelings very quickly started pouring into her heart. She still hated the eternal teatimes but they became more bearable with you, she felt the urge to sleep despite being scared too, she started drinking a little less. She knew the affect you had on her and was confused at first. But when your feelings went face to face with hers she finally understood. You soon ended up dating the Mad hatter.

Hatter is very, VERY, touch-starved. She barely interacts with people and most are scared away from her due to her insanity. But because you weren't scared and willing got close to her and weren't afraid to touch her after the dance you shared at the duchess's mansion she started craving more of your touch, she wanted to be held in your arms. Now that you're dating hatter absolutely adores cuddles, though she's often the little spoon whenever she feels like it she'll insist that she be the big spoon for once. Seeing you in peace as you sleep while she cuddles you makes her wonder if she could look like that too when she sleeps and not be endlessly tormented in her dreams or fear something bad will happen when she's asleep.

One talent hatter has kept with herself for almost all of her life is making hats! She's loved making hats for most of her live but stopped making as many around when doormouse and hare died. But now that everything has passed and she's slowly started healing, you can be her personal model! She'll make hats of many different shapes, sizes, and colors just for you to wear. The smile that appears on her face after you finish trying on all the 30 hats she made for you in 3 days is 100 percent worth it.

White Queen

Dating the White queen is almost like a enteral vacation. Everything is very relaxed with her and she brings with her a calming aura that seems to calm everything down even in tense situations. You two spend a lot of time in the gardens together, having tea parties, trying out clothes together, and reading.

Every now and then you two get invited to parties or balls and you two always end up dancing together. Dances with the White queen are magical, even if you don't really know what you're doing she'll guide you all the way and even make your stumbles look graceful. She definitely likes dancing way more then she use too because of the dances you two share. It feels like that she could dance with you all night and never let go among the starry sky. The glowing darkness lighting up around you as you waltz in eternal grace.

Being the White Queens girlfriend also means that you keep the majority of her secrets and feelings hidden when she wants, you can look at her face and read how she feels in a second and even if there are a few slip ups it all ends up okay. You know the fact that she slaughtered the red queen and if anyone else were to find out her head would be taken, so you keep that secret locked away eternally. You don't want you girlfriend being killed because of her freeing wonderland from the Red Queens tyrannical rule. Many lost their lives innocents lost their lives from the red queen by just accusations and the red queen paid for her actions with her life. Despite knowing the dark side of things you still don't despise White queen and would gladly walk around wonderland holding her hand for all of time.

Red Queen

You're very special if somehow you ended up dating the Red Queen (Also probably very lucky and insane-). But to each their own I suppose. Red Queen cares about order and justice over all despite her twisted ways of enforcing it and she expects you to follow her order and justice as well as anyone else. While she may let you break one or two laws once the second time she'll send you to the dungeons. She believes it's for your own good and that sending you there will help you understand her way of justice. Unless you really piss her off your chances of getting your head chopped off are very very veryyyy low.

The Red Queen cherishes every single minute second with you, it's not that she's scared she's gonna lose you but it's that she's totally scared that she's gonna lose you. Though she pridefully takes her position of ruler of wonderland, it is a lonely position. She hated eating dinner alone every day, she hated how lonely things would get, she knew some of wonderland despised her but she could care less. But then you appeared in her life, you didn't fear her, despite her insanity you loved her. Now that you've shown her love her twisted brain clung onto it and now it's not letting go until it absolutely has too. Even simple things like working on paperwork together, eating dinner together, or even sleeping together at night, she cherishes it all.

Every morning her long blonde hair becomes a mess due to how much she shifts around in bed and it's a hassle to take care of. Though she may not vocalize it at first she wants you to brush and do her hair, she's curious about what it feels like to let someone else do it for once because she never lets servants touch her gorgeous hair and she wanted to relax a bit more before she had to do her duties as queen. Eventually she vocalized her want and she didn't regret it one bit. Your hands gently brushing and putting the red bow she always wears into her hair was like a dream come true to her and once you finish she'll reward you with a little kiss on the cheek thanking you.

Some quick thoughts on Obey me! Nightbringer

warnings* possible spoilers for the base game (chapter 40~ish, definitely chapter 16)

notes* honestly a bit of a ramble on what i'm hoping to see, some predictions or what i guess will be in the game and an odd ramble on chapter 16 due to time travel shenanigans

okay first and foremost HOLY SHIT THE TRAILER WAS SO HYPE. it was so well animated and I absolutely love the new song. I'm honestly really happy that they decided to make a whole new game to deliver what, what most assume, is a massive lore dump. I must say that doing it in the base game would probably be a pretty messy experience since the homescreen is cluttered enough as in and we're still getting new seasons for the main story. i have seen some people be sceptical in terms of just how well this will all play out due to some //interesting// writing decisions in the past but im of the opinion that its better to be expectant for now and critize it later down the line since i do think that solmare are putting in lots of effort in terms of the new game.

what i want to see!! please im begging please i wanna see michael it's not even funny. i do think a lot of the game will have to do with the brothers fall and the events leading up/after to the celestial war + aftermath in dealing with their grief, new lives and loyalty towards diavolo. i bring up the diavolo part especially seeing lucifers expression; i really do think most of his anguish comes from taking on the massive task of helping the brothers grieve and get used to their new lives but also trying to figure out how to deal with diavolo and possible belphie. i so want to see lucifer's gradual process into turning into the avatar of pride and putting up the stuck-up, formal personality that he has current day.

oh god i also just thought of this; finally seeing a design for lilith??? i would really like to see interactions with the whole family :(((( dont even care how it happens, flashbacks? just mentioning her pleaaaaaaase i crave it

i also wanna mention how beel looks absolutely pissed in the trailer? i was curious as to why the brothers all had such different expressions but after some further thoughts, it's probably a response to suddenly being thrusted into the powerful urges their sins carry? like, it was probably absolute hell trying to manage their desires at first. might be a bit of an hc, but i do think that beels grief plays a huge part in his gluttony. his emotions dictate a lot in terms of how 'full' he's feeling, it's often shown when he's around MC and he says he feels full just being around them. i think that a lot of his behavior early on will be absolute rage, but mainly towards himself due to his percieved failure in saving lilth.

gameplay! ive seen some talk about how the gameplay might be similar to the ruri-chan rhythm game beta that was released a little bit ago (i played it btw, it was pretty enjoyable). i do think that this might be a route they're going towards since a lot of the existing songs are getting remixes. what im most curious about is how they'll be weaving in the story parts; maybe it'll be a chapter system like the base game?

MC! is MC going to be in the game?! if the game is going to be a massive lore dump theeeeeen i'm a little iffy on if mc will actually have a role to play. it could be like chapter 16 and being sent back in time but i'll save that for a different point. if it's not, then im curious how it'll be presented to us story wise since it is, again, implied in the visuals of the trailer that barbatos is involved with the door motifs and him putting a finger over his mouth real ominous like. i kinda dont want mc to have too much of a presence personally, but i also cant help but think they get sent back in time in some capacity since the cast all look worried? concerned? something to that effect. i can only assume that the trailer doesn't take place in the past since solomon and the angels are all there. so i think something fucked up again and we'll be sent back in time to try and figure out a solution? possibly something to do with the ring of light?

time travel? again? im so hesitant when considering the possibility of more time travel stuff being introduced. i think it was handled horribly in chapter 16, enough to headcanon my own climax and resolve to the whole belphie situation; that man deserved so much more in terms of a resolve to his character arc. if they're going to send mc back in time imma need solmare to whip up the best logical reason as to why and how its going to work out. id also love it if they at least TALKED about what went down in chapter 16, i still feel like none of what was going on there was resolved. im so desperate for belphie to have a better written reason as to why he got over his trauma and hatred for humans as well. the origins of him being put in the attic would be very nice :)

honestly im almost certain there will be a gacha component to the game. idk if itll be the same card system but they have to make money some way some how; i just hope they dont put the lore behind a paywall and just keep it to gacha stuff with energy to managa how much you can do in a day. if the game itself is paid id be a little surprised honestly. idk, im mainly curious how this component will be done since i dont see them doing events in nightbringer like they do in the base game which has me a little worried how it might be monitized. i'd shill out either way lets be honesty but just something swiming around in my mind.

anyway super exicted for the game, just had to vomit this out since ive been playing the trailer on repeat for far too long and daydreaming scenarios in which we get celestial realm scenes cause i just need more celestial realm content please it takes place after the war i can at least have CRUMBS :,)

•You couldn’t help it that you had fallen in love with someone like Sanji

•You thought he would be smart enough to notice your actions towards him and realize the reason behind them

•Your lingering eyes and touches, you would bring him the ingredients he needs while cooking, help wash the dishes, look for things he would like in the town stores

•But all he did was treat you the same as Nami and Robin when you wanted more, it was painful to pine after him so long and you knew that eventually it would be too much

•So you decided to ask him to dinner and see if he could finally figure out your true feelings

•Sadly, throughout the whole night he showed to signs of realization nor return of your feelings, and that night you knew you would have to stop before you end up hurting yourself or the crew

•You knew it would be painful, but you decided to distance yourself- you stopped helping with dishes unless he specifically asked you, you no longer went out of your way to buy him gifts, no more shared glances when Zoro or Luffy did something

•Even Kid knew something was missing, usually you were in his room annoying him at night, but now he was alone in the silence trying to figure out what happened. He missed your presence and the little things you picked up for him, he didn’t know what this feeling was- but he hated it

•The next few weeks, Kid spent trying to get you to spend time with him again, giving you missions or orders that placed you in his company. Kid thought it be too weak of him if he confessed to you only to have you reject him.

•He doubted you felt the same feelings for him that that he felt for you, and it took a very long talk with Killer for Kid to understand that you did in fact return the feelings, which is why you had spent so much time with him

•He was angry that you hadn’t just told him how you felt, but to be fair you didn’t know about his feeling for you and he deffinetly didn’t do anything to help

•He grabbed the latest thing he had been working on, a little music box Kid had been saving for your birthday. He ran right to your cabin on the ship and practically threw the music box into your hands as he yelled at you for being to scared to confess to him- then he proceeded with a confession of his own

•You said that you didn’t know how you felt about him now- to say that kind of broke Kid’s heart would be true. Kid said that he would court you this time, and treat you the way you deserve to be treated. It was an extremely soft confession for the usually rough captain, but it melted your heart.

•Killer’s attitude towards you was the opposite of what you expected a pirate to be, he was kind and gentle, he would cook for you and scold Kid when he was mean to you, so you had quickly fallen in love with the man

•It deffinetly wasn’t a smart idea, but you were too love sick to think rationally about it. You would help him in the kitchen, try to take lookout duty the same time as him, piggyback rides were common with you two, and on top of that you would constantly compliment him

•You thought Killer was a smart enough man to realize you felt something other than friendship for him. You were planning to finally confess to him when the Kid pirates were at the bar.

•You saw Killer behind Heat and went over to ask him to come outside, but as you passed Heat, your eyes fell on the woman Killer was talking to. The realization that Killer didn’t love you hit you like a ton of bricks and you felt the need to show him that you didn’t need his love, even thought he still didn’t know you loved him

•You ended all extra contact with him, only interacting when ordered to. No more lookouts with him, no more assisting him in the kitchen, no piggyback rides from him, nothing

•Killer immediately noticed you’d absence as you had become a large part of his day, not to mention his favorite part. It was during one of his night lookout shifts when he saw you down on the deck making your rounds, the moonlight dancing across you’d face, that Killer finally realized the weight on his heart and identified it as love.

•His immediate thoughts were that someone like you would never love someone like him, but as he remembered your old actions towards him, he began to suspect that just maybe, you had returned the feeling once. Afraid that it was too late he quickly ran down to you

❀ First, Bokuto would be oblivious to his crush and his feelings for you till it was brought up multiple times by his team, and eventually at the volleyball camp from the other schools. Most likely Kuroo nagging him about the certain someone, Khai, Bokuto talks about so much.

❀ You and Bokuto were friends for quite some time, maybe at least a year or so. And being in the same class as him, you guys had time to interact with each other and even plan hangouts whenever you could.

❀ And yes, this man talks 24/7 about you without even noticing- this varies from your interactions during the school day, your conversations during classes and lunch, stupid dumb texts you guys have once in a while, the answers you give him from the many of many questions he asked you... the list goes on and on. This makes it easy for his friends to identify his fucking crush on you. him being so oblivious about it hurts their brains istg

❀ He's extremely bubbly around you, super friendly and kind but you usually brush it off as his normal personality. ibetyou'llbeoblivioustooaboutit.

❀ Once Bokuto awakened to his crush and feelings for you he found it extremely difficult to act like it was normal before. The slight blush on his cheeks was a much solid shade. His heart skipping beats every time he saw you walk in the room. Your laugh, your smile, anything about you made him so nervous around you now. When you directly smile at him, hearing your laughs at his jokes or actions will make this man just seize to exist.

❀ Bokuto can't stop thinking about you after that thought, always finding his mind wandering to the dorkiest, sappy shit thing he would do with you.

To the point, it did affect his skill at practice, which notified his teammates about it fairly quickly. Bokuto was so deep in thought about it all he was unsure how to process his confession, when, where, what would make you happy, if you liked him back and such.

❀ This eventually leads to him asking Akaashi, the team, and friends (from the other teams' ofc-), on how he should confess to you. All of the answers didn't seem to fit Bokuto in a comfortable way either, which is hella surprising. Before he decided to do something pretty simple.

❀ Earlier today, Bokuto asked you to wait for him a few minutes after class. Knowing you two had different club activities after school, him having volleyball and you have [Khai's favorite activity]. It was the best option to get your attention since your clubs ended at different times made it difficult. And so you did, meeting him outside of your classroom, just you and him.

❀ Bokuto felt anxious about being alone with you, especially like this.

❀ "Hey, Khai..?"

❀ "What is it, Bo?"

❀ That little nickname you gave him, always and I mean always made his heart skip 10 beats. The blush on his cheeks grew a shade darker.

❀ Both of you actually took a similar route home after school, which you guys figured out on a rainy day.

❀ "I like you. Wait- No.. I love you." Bokuto muttered softly, feeling his breath on your lips made you shiver.

❀ You just giggled, before it grew into genuine laughter. He widened his eyes removing his hands from your face.

❀ After the confession, Bokuto would rarely ever leave your side. So he does get clingy to you as he does with Akaashi. He's not much for PDA but he's also not against the thought, he unconsciously hugs you, wrapping his arms around your torso, waist, arms, and sometimes around your neck at least- Sometimes light kisses and pecks but those are generally rare unless he's really excited about something.

❀ He gets really flustered sometimes when you addressed him as your boyfriend the first few days and maybe weeks after starting the relationship. He's just not used to it- It gives this hunk of a man butterflies in his stomach a lot.

❀ Whenever you guys had to leave each other for your designated classes, you tend to find cute notes in your locker whenever you open them. Having cute phrases, flirts, compliments, and silly pick-up lines. You already knew it was from Bokuto because you... sometimes catch him lurking around your locker- just never brought up to him knowing it would genuinely make him sad.

❀ Bokuto just finds it cool that you don't know at first okay-

❀ You always tried to go to his practices and even games when you guys were just friends. Knowing that if Bokuto saw any of his friends out in the stands made his confidence skyrocket so much-

❀ Bokuto probably changed your contact name on his phone to something like "baby owl" with like emojis or something- or literally, just nick (pet) names he has for you- "baby, bae, cloud, cutie, feather, angel, king/queen, prince/princess" and so on. He looooves having names for you because it makes him smile every time he finds things that remind him of you (which generally is how he figures some of them out-)

❀ Whenever this man finds you sad, upset, stressed, or literally in any negative emotion. He will try his damn hardest to make you feel better even if its the slightest, and if it is the slightest he'll keep going to you are perfectly fine and dandy.

let’s set our stage, shall we?

first of all claude n anastacius’ dad is dead coz we don’t like him at all ew

so ana is the emperor, and claude is his heir presumptive (aka he’s got the strongest claim to the throne rn, but this can be changed by the birth of someone who has a stronger one - ie, anastacius’ child who would be the heir apparent) also bc “i know my mom and i gave u lots of childhood trauma that you prlly won’t be recovering from because therapists aren’t a thing here but here’s a crown you might get to make it better”

claude’s in a position where after the birth of ana’s kid/direct descendant, he’s gonna be given a duchy that athy should inherit after him while still retaining the title of prince

but after hearing of diana’s pregnancy, ana tells her and claude he doesn’t really plan on having children and wants to make their future kid his successor

he basically reserves a spot for their child in the directory and rather than announcing anything publically, anastacius names her athanasia after the sex is confirmed

then this mf obviously pulls a clown move and gets penelope pregnant and complicates things, ultimately naming her jennette, finding the name fitting - ‘god is gracious’

and really, what could be more evidence of god’s grace than the child he’s now fathering, when he thought his legacy would be ending with him?

anyways!!!

so since athy and jennette are born near the beginning of ana’s reign, both claude and anastacius are wayyy too busy trying to bring back the empire from the literal brink of bankruptcy and a possible war to really spend time w their kids

it’s alright, though!! lily is hired as athy’s nanny, while jennette gets kiel’s mom as hers

they all still live together, though obviously the main palace is for ana + jennette while claude + athy are in a separate one

this 'separate one’ is ruby palace after ana dismisses the concubines and he definitely 100% did this on purpose, and whenever he’s summoning claude he’s such a shit about it and goes about it the way you’d summon a deadass concubine

on a separate note, it’s surprisingly claude who visits athy first - he’s seen her here and there with lily but hasn’t ever had the chance to spend time w her. but now it’s almost been a year since athy’s birth (or diana’s death), her first birthday is fast approaching, and he is drunk

lily is a reallyyyy light sleeper and enters the nursery upon hearing someone inside

she doesn’t expect to see the prince standing above his daughter’s crib, a strand of her golden hair between his fingers as he just…stares at her

she approaches quietly, curtsying in greeting - he’s too absorbed to notice, and after a few minutes of silence lilian tells him, “babies can get lonely too, your highness.”

he glances at her then, confused. “how?” he really can’t understand how this girl, who can’t even speak yet comprehend something like loneliness

“princess athanasia is very responsive to her surroundings, much more than children her age usually are,” lily says, “and i like to believe children are able to tell when their parents are with them.”

he scoffs - what a foolish thought. still, claude sits by her bedside, and before he can register it, he’s taken over by sleep

the next night, claude makes his way towards the nursery and stiffly asks if athy could sleep beside him for the night - it’s fairly late, but lilian allows it

he’s gone to the main palace too early the next morning for athy to be awake, but she spent about two minutes tops worrying about the strange surroundings, saw the shiny chandelier and fancy bed and decided yes, she doesn’t mind this kidnapping

this becomes somewhat of a regular occurrence soon enough, and sometime that week she wakes up in the middle of the night with her nose pressed into something soft and literally falls off the huge ass bed at the realisation that this something soft is actually her papa’s hair (you just know that hair smells great i mean uh-)

this mans wakes up and peeks at her on the ground, reaches out to grab her from the front of her nightdress (he swears it’s exactly how he’s seen lilian do it) and plops her back onto the bed

she backs up OBVIOUSLY, you don’t just wake up with a random ass man in your bed and just vibe together?? lee jihye is dying but he glares at her for disturbing his sleep and athy pulls her act together in 0.000001 secs as claude pulls her closer and goes back to sleep

as athy grows, claude starts allowing her to visit his office during the day until it becomes a sort of ritual - he’d have tea and milk prepared and she’d come, sitting somewhere completing a puzzle or sum while he works

mans nearly tears down the entire imperial palace the day she doesn’t show up until he finds her in the garden, teaching jettie the 'proper’ way to hold a teacup during tea parties while lilian and roger’s wife, vivian, watch

athy emotionally blackmails asks him to join the tea party, so half an hour later, anastacius finds his brother sitting on the grass with a plastic teacup that athy’s filling with hot water as she lectures him to learn to fix his posture from lily so he can sit like a “proper dignified lady”

so in the beginning, jennette actually ends up spending more time with claude than her dad. though one day, the brothers are in the audience hall when athy runs in with felix running after her telling her not to run (there’s a shit ton of guards surrounding anastacius so felix has orders to be with princess athanasia when claude is with ana)

anastacius is used to this sight, and watches, smirking at his brother’s subtle smile as athy offers him this wonky looking flower crown - claude accepts it wordlessly, and ana wants to slap his ass to sanity, who wouldn’t thank their kid when they do adorable things like this??

but then they hear another voice, and in comes jennette with vivian not too far behind her. now jettie has a much cleaner looking crown in her hand, but she glances at her father’s elaborate and beautiful crown all embedded with gems and glittering and then at the one she’s fashioned out of daisies

she's always thought she was much like her uncle - jennette was so fascinated by the plain daises, they weren’t flashy but caught her eye all the same - while athy was shiny and bold like her dad

but now she’s second guessing her choice, how could she make such a simple crown for her dad, the emperor??

claude sighs from beside anastacius and literally picks off his brother’s crown before tossing it towards a very tired felix

athy urges jennette forward, and with a bright red covering her entire face she offers the crown. jennette glances at her uncle for comfort before muttering, “for papa”

anastacius.exe has crashed

this blushly, embarrassed, and apparently talented at flower crowns kid was his?

long story short he forgets to breathe or react and jettie thinks he hates the crown and hates her and won’t ever like to see her again so she starts getting teary

claude pushes his brother’s head down before athy can be convicted for murder

ana 100% almost faints when her tiny chubby fingers delicately place the crown in place, he’ll never admit it but he closed his eyes and almost hugged her instinctively as she shyly adjusted some of his bangs around the new headpiece, muttering, “papa pretty”

jennette rushes back to her sister, who’s glaring daggers at the emperor

anastacius tries to smile to calm jennette a bit and maybe look nice enough for his niece to not kill him in his sleep

right well kiel becomes the royal playmate for both the princesses - athy has her classes with him since she’s advanced and honestly they’ll be going back forth with infodumps one minute and he’s teaching her to make paper airplanes the next

(she writes notes on the paper airplanes the next time she’s in claude’s office and flies them towards him, stuff like, 'does uncle cius also snore loudly like papa?’ and he gets seriously offended like a pissbaby)

jennette first met kiel when he was visiting his mom - vivian had to leave for a bit and she taught him a bunch of flower names and their meanings in the meantime - he makes sure to research a new flower every time he visits her, and brings her a bouquet of said flowers she always knows them but never says anything coz she doesn’t wanna hurt his feelings and he gets so excited as he tells her about their meanings it’s so cute

speaking of jennette - claude and ana may seem worlds apart but they’re at the same level of emotionally constipated

ana watches his brother and niece interact and he craves that, an unconditional, timeless love that can’t possibly be tainted by ulterior motives or the like, but he just doesn’t know how to approach little jettie

it seems easy enough - she’s a smiley, sweet girl and theoretically would be friendly if he is to approach her

but gods he’s just so ashamed - such a sweet babe grew without either of her parents and he doesn’t have an excuse because holy hell, even claude is close to athy

he’s being served food in his chambers when he asks the maid about jennette, and she tells him how among her first words was 'love’ and the brunette would just stroll the palace pointing at people and declare “love you” and watch their face light up

thats so CUTE OMFG

his jaw is touching the floor when he’s told that his daughter knows the names of every worker within the palaces

at this point he’s honestly questioning whether this child is his at all

he’s absolutely horrified at the realisation that this maid, who doesn’t even work in jennette’s part of the palace, knows more about her than he does - hell, he hadn’t even asked vivian to keep him updated on her growth, what right does he have to stick himself into her life now?

now, the maid quietly suggests starting with something small like inviting jennette to tea and

of course he goes about it the wrong way??

poor jettie thinks she’s being tested by the ruthless emperor on her etiquette and spends the entire day practicing with claude after athy guilted him into it

she’s so nervous in front of her dad that he honestly feels even guiltier, and anastacius hurries to grab her hands in his to calm their tremble as she reaches to serve him tea

she apologises lmao and he’s just so flustered himself that he orders for her to sit down and instructs her through a few deep breaths

as she calms down, ana serves her the tea before asking whether girls her age even drink tea

she says no and you can literally hear the crickets

he slides the cup he’s poured for her over to his side before gesturing towards the deserts (it was claude’s daughter-luring pro tip) on her side

“you look like you read a lot,” ana says, before asking whether she’s been reading anything interesting lately

“i don’t, actually,” she tells him shyly

anastacius laughs at how of all things his hate for books is what she got from him - and only when jennette chuckles does he realise that he said that out loud

he lets her go around her bedtime, feeling rather… energized? he doesn’t know how to explain it, but it’s a good feeling

he’s busy again the next day, but has an aide send her flowers - the same ones she had put in her flower crown for him

yes lucas is still sleeping in the palace, yes athy still finds him

so athy sees the flowers from uncle cius and is enraged, literally walks up to her uncle and demands he leave jennette alone if he’s only gonna break her heart by neglecting her

and so we have fifteen minutes of the emperor of obelia stuttering as he explains himself to this seven year old

smfh his cluelessness reminds her of her own dad and she takes pity on ana’s suffering soul

the next morning, to give him a chance to redeem himself, athy asks all four of them to have breakfast together - they accept the invitation, and despite an awkward start, the meal seems to be going well

peace is not written in this family’s fate however, and this is where the first coughing up blood thing happens

ohhhh the palace staff almost gets massacred that day

athy’s limp body is moved to jennette’s room since it’s the closest - lily bursts into tears at the very sight of her princess, jennette refuses to eat or drink until her sister can, felix hears his heart break, claude is barely holding himself together

ana is livid - who dares poison a member of his family? what has he even done to earn the privilege of calling these girls his family, when he can’t protect them, at the very least?

claude absolutely refuses to leave her room and finishes all his work right outside her door, lest she wake up in pain again

anastacius can’t keep his own anxiety about jennette at bay, insisting she sleep with him as long as claude stays with athanasia - he can tell she’s drained, and she ends up sharing some of her worries late at night. he soothes both her worries and her cries, letting her curl up into him despite it being a rather uncomfortable position

the family is thrown into chaos again once they realise it was never poison, but athy’s own magic that caused this

aka when chibi lucas drops by and voodoos her back to 100%, everyone legit starts worshipping the ground he walks on - he saved their precious princess!!

ana insists on making him athy’s royal playmate after hearing she isn’t fully healed yet

what does this give us? well, a very very early lucas vs kiel

since they’ve both got the title of royal playmate, they constantly argue on whether being the future duke alpheus is a better title than the future royal magician

the girls are always dragged into this - athy always takes kiel’s side to avenge blackie, and jennette likes kiel too, but the young magician sir saved her sister!!

so.

when vivian passes away due to an illness, it’s like roger is an entirely different person

jennette + kiel + athy all help with the funeral preparations since she was a mother/aunt to them all

felix seems to be paying extra attention to kiel

it isn’t long after this that roger decides to send him to arlanta for his studies, leaving behind two disillusioned princesses

athy spends her time viciously studying to stay ahead of arlanta’s curriculum, while jennette takes an interest in cooking

(athy tries and fails spectacularly; lucas laughs at her and jettie accidentally serves him his favourite food too salty to be edible)

Ships and Feels about them

HUGE self-indulgent post but my brain is frozen and I need to get the juices flowing so I can start studying, because if I don’t get into the college I want I just might have to kill myself and then y’all can say bye-bye to your fav fics by your majesty. 

YoruSoi- status: worSHIPPING (geddit? XD) them like the goddesses they are

I regularly play Wicked Ones by Dorothy and just imagine these two tag-teaming against their opponents, like the crazy, badass, ninja lesbians they are. It fucking gives me goosebumps and makes me blush like I am imagining them rawing each other instead. I am a big time SUCKER for powerful, cut-throat wlw. They make me feel powerful by extension, and my devotion for these two is completely unparalleled. 

VictUuri- status: will protect them with my life  

First of all, I love how layered and interesting they are. I can think about this show and this ship for hours and hours on end ( @feastingonvicturi will vouch for that). I naturally gravitate towards angsty ships and writing (because I am a weird sado-maso cross, what can I say) except for these two fluffy bastards. I had been putting off watching YOI because of the weird things I had read about ‘yaoi’ animes (IK YOI is not yaoi, now) till someone told me how pure and deep their love for each other was and welp, here we are. 

RenRuki- status: comfort ship I’ll defend till death

It was one of my first ships and even as I multi-shipper, I always had a preference for them. Childhood-friends-to-lovers trope tugs on my heartstrings like little else and Renji’s devotion towards Rukia warms my heart. I hear them in nearly every song, imagine them in every scenario I read or write about and even though I have multiple ships I adore involving Rukia and Renji both, the two together is everything to me. (Presently obsessed with the amazing hcs and art by @recurring-polynya you might wanna check them out)

KaiRay- status: heart is taking a break, but remains firmly attached

I got into Beyblade BECAUSE of this ship, because of the moments these two shared in V-Force that I caught glimpses of when my younger siblings were watching the show. I love Kai and Ray’s dynamic and I guess what attracts me the most to this ship is the fact that as a teenager I was exactly like Kai and had my own personal Ray who got me through the worst in life. I love the sense of sweet nostalgia this couple brings me and I believe they are perfect for each other. 

MariahEmily- status: coffee shop AU, anyone? 

I was HUGE on MariahxRay but strong, stylish, kinda bitchy, dumb thot falling for the highly educated and fierce lady boss she doesn’t really know how to approach is another one of my favourite tropes, (see: PansMione, down under). I saw them interact and due to personal reasons my brain rejects petty rivalry between girls (because we’re all tired of that, children, be honest) and immediately tries to fix it in fanon. ( @trashyartz  and her beautiful drawings had a lot to do with fanning these flames.) 

ShunUki- status: want them to adopt me

Need I say more? No, but I wanna. I love the steady, secure vibes of this ship. This is the one ship I physically can’t write angsty shit about because of the level of understanding and sense of comfort these two share. They give me kind and strong dad vibes and I have emotionally been an orphan since I was in my early teens so. 

WolfStar- status: they’re canon, JKR can suck my toes

Fucking TERF 

Listen, listen, have you been listening? I mentioned I am a sucker for angst, right? Are you looking at the angst potential here, cause wow. What originally attracted me to this ship was the Chemistry between the two, cause it’s undeniable. You can NOT imagine Maurauders’ Era without imaging these two pining over each other. It’s impossible. 

PansMione- status: toxic and problematic, but oh so hot

I got on this ship because I was craving some quality wlw ships. You guys’ I can not explain to you how often female characters in shows and books do not pass the Bechdel test and I stumbled on some gorgeous PansMione art and just fell in love. IK this ship is hella problematic, but I am firm on my stance that the baby Slytherins deserve a redemption arc. 

Can you imagine these two after Pansy realises everything she did wrong and vows to be better? I imagine Hermione stumbling on a hurt and confused Pansy in year 8, who can’t stop her tears from flowing and is so ashamed of herself for that. She is feeling guilty and resisting the emotion with everything she possesses because the world she’d always known has crumbled down around her and everything she believed in has now been proven to be wrong. 

She lashes out at Hermione because how dare that smart, gorgeous, courageous girl also be everything Pansy once thought she was? How dare she, a muggleborn, unravel the complicated threads of the wizard world so quickly, so efficiently, and clearly see what Pansy never could? Pansy is hurt and guilty and angry and she hates the fact that fucking Granger of all people has now witnessed her crying. 

She feels lost and her anger only rages louder when Hermione doesn’t gloat or belittle her, she doesn’t say anything. 

(Why is this turning into a ficlet, WHAT) 

Anyways, Pansy gets over herself and she and Hermione get together and oh my god, imagine them then. Smart, powerful, righteous Hermione taking the fucking Wizarding World by a storm every single day with her sexy, vivacious, clever Pansy by her side. They’d be unstoppable and they’d love each other something fierce. It would show in the way they look at each other, with a sense of victory, not only over Voldemort but over the entire Wizarding society that had done everything it could to tear them apart, and ultimately failed. 

(BONUS: Imagine Ron and Harry being utter dorks when they go to Pride parades with Hermione and let the image cleanse your skin and soul. @feastingonvicturi @trashyartz one of you (or both?) needs to collab with me so I can write a fix it fic for these two, please. I will pledge my soul to the devil to be used and abused as per Trashy’s whims in exchange. Taura will do it cause she’s my best friend and loves me more than I deserve to be loved.)

(In conclusion, I adore every single one of these ships and am willing to slice a bitch’s throat to protect their honour. Except for YoruSoi, they are fictional characters IK but I am convinced they do not need anybody’s protection, least of all this dumb fuck’s and just might laugh at the very idea.)

8. what’s their (weirdly specific) love languages?

we can probably all guess that Balthazar’s is writing music about them. that’s one hundred percent canon.

for Peter, it’s more difficult I think? of the classic ones, I’m tempted to say “physical touch”, but that would be a disservice to him, and far too simplified. I feel like “words of affirmation” is closer to the truth. I think, in the end, what’s really Peter’s love language, is letting himself be vulnerable. Like, making visible the shit he struggles with, saying sorry when he fucks up, saying soft shit without making it ironic or turning it into a joke - that’s how this boy really shows someone he loves them. 

13. are they into pda or more private about their relationship?

hmm. I’d say that’s pretty mixed. like I said, I think to Peter, physical affection matters a lot, and he has this kind of stubborn approach to it that’s like “no I’m not gonna censor myself just because it might make someone uncomfortable,” but I also like to think of him as weirdly shy, mostly because he always wants to make sure that Balthazar is okay with everything. 

Balth? Literally does not give a shit. If they want to kiss their boyfriend, they’re gonna kiss their boyfriend - doesn’t matter where they are. This is a surprise to literally everyone, probably even Balthazar, who thought of themself as a rather private person up until now. But I think that’s just the effect of finally getting the positive physical contact from a boy that they’ve craved for so long. Touch starvation? No thank you, Balthazar Jones is never going back to that again.

That being said, they’re both most open and casually affectionate around their friends. Like, they’re not as disgustingly adorable as Ben and Bea are most of the time, but they generally stay close to each other, always touching somewhere somehow, sometimes Balthazar snuggled to Peter’s side, sometimes Peter’s head on Balthazar’s shoulder. It’s pretty simple and cute, and literally everyone melts seeing it. (I’m melting imagining it, so that’s that!)

14. which one infodumps for hours and which one sits and listens in awe and loves every moment of it?

I think they’re pretty equal in that. I have this hc where Peter gets really into psychology and the workings of the human mind, and he loves to talk about studies he’s read and ted talks he’s seen and everything interesting he can get his hands on. Balth of course loves to talk about music theory and their current hyperfixation in it (I wanna say something like ‘the gendering of voices and vocal fach’ but honestly that’s maybe projecting a little too much) (okay no whatever Balth loves talking about vocal categories, women singing tenor and the rise of the falsetto voice in pop music of the 70′s).

They also both love to analyze themselves, their feelings and interactions with their surroundings, and do that out loud with each other. And though they’ve basically spent most of their lives together, they love talking about their pasts and memories they have of it, and the way that shaped them. They just listen to each other a lot, I feel?

What are you working on right now? Right now, I’m focused on BellarkeFic-for-BLM (I just got an amazing canon prompt I’m really excited to finish). I’ve also been participating in this round of the Chopped Challenge, which has been fun and challenging. In between prompts, I’ve got two WIPs that I’m slowly cranking through. Shoutout to every single reader who’s been incredibly patient while I’ve been so slow on those updates — though, reminder that you can donate to a BLM organization (even a $3 donation works) and request an update to get those higher on my prio list while I’m focused on that initiative.

What’s something you’d like to write one day? My absolute dream job and the ultimate goal is to become a showrunner for a prime time TV show. I love TV shows — I love the way actors and directors and crew take a script and breath life into it, I love how you take a general idea for a story and mold it into something amazing as you go, I love how a series gives a story more time to be fleshed out and explored, I love the concept of a writers room and collaborating on a story. It’s a different ballgame from fic writing (which I do for fun) and travel writing (which I do for a living), but I’m determined to make it happen. JRoth, I’m coming for your job, babe. 😉

What is the fanwork you’re most proud of? I’m still really new to fic writing, especially compared to some of the powerhouse writers in this fandom. And I’m sure one of my WIPs (when finished) will probably supersede this. BUT, my one-shot about Madi calling Bellamy on The Ring (She called you for 2,199 days) is something I’m really proud of. I’m a long-winded writer, so one-shots have never come naturally to me. This one just…clicked. It’s got some good lines in there that I’m proud of, and based on the feedback I’ve gotten, it really made readers feel something and connect to the story. It’s not my longest story or my most thought-out. But it shows my growth as a writer these past few months, and I’m proud of that.

Why did you first start writing fic? I started writing fic as a creative outlet for my writing. My day job is writing about travel and credit cards. And while I enjoy that, it’s just not as creative. My dream is to write for a TV show though, and I was craving a way to flex my creative writing muscles in a low-stress way. I started watching The 100 when it first came out, but I didn’t really get into the fandom until I came back to the show during the S5/6 hiatus. That’s when I started reading fics and reblogging stuff about the show on Tumblr. During the S6/7 hiatus, I had this idea for a Greys Anatomy AU, and my sister (who is also a major fan of the show) was like, “You literally write things for a living. If you want to write a Grey’s AU for t100, there is absolutely nothing stopping you.” I published my first chapter on that The Choices We Make in Dec. 2019, and the rest is history.

What frustrates you most about fic writing? For me, I think that the most frustrating thing isn’t even about fic writing itself; it’s the fact that it’s a side-hobby and not something I can dedicate my full attention to. When you write all day for your day job, then do some for your freelance gig, and then turn around and try to write for a few hours every night for fic… that gets hard sometimes — especially since starting quarantine where I’m not traveling, going out with friends, getting a break from it, etc. Fic writing is a creative release for me, and I absolutely love crafting and writing these stories that involve some of my favorite fictional characters. And I love interacting with other writers and fic readers, I love talking about ideas and exchanging headcanons and fangirling over my favorite writers’ works. But (because there’s always a but), sometimes I just don’t have the mental energy or capacity to write at the end of the day when I’ve turned in 3 deadlines for work. I’ve got all these ideas floating in my head, but only so much time and mental energy I can dedicate to it.

What are your top five songs right now? Oh boy. So I live alone, which means I’ve got either music or Netflix on in the background 24/7 because ya girl doesn’t like silence. I have a different playlist for different moods. I’ll share my fav song from each of those playlists. What are your inspirations (books, songs, other fic, really good cake)? All of the above, except I like pie more than cake. lol But really, I kind of use everything around me for inspiration. “The Choices We Make” is inspired by my love of Grey’s Anatomy. “Intertwining your soul (with somebody else)” is inspired my the first draft of my YA novel (though the setting was adapted to a grounder canonverse AU). “The Day He Shut That Rocket Door” and “She called you for 2,199 days” were inspired by @historyofbellarke‘s headcanons that were brought up in S7 speccing conversations (shoutout to her for enabling my angsty ass). My most recent WIP “There are some things written in the stars” that I started as part of Chopped (but will continue because I’m obsessed with the idea) is inspired by my love of Timeless. And I have an entire Notion database filled with fic ideas — some one-shots and some multi-chapter fics — that are inspired by quotes, songs, conversations with friends, books I love, shows I adore, random HCs that pop into my head while I watch, my own life experiences, etc. I take inspiration in any form it decides to come in. 💕

What first attracted you to Bellarke? What attracts you now? I’m a ho for enemies to lovers — the idea that you can put your worst foot forward and show someone all the ugly parts of you… and that they’ll see that and somehow look past it to see the good stuff too, falling in love with your whole self instead of just the pretty parts. Yeah, it’s my favorite romance trope. And that tension is what originally drew me to Bellarke. Now, it’s a combination of things. I love each of these characters in their own right. I relate to Clarke in a lot of ways, and I aspire to be her level of badass. I straight adore Bellamy Blake (flaws, stupid decisions, and all) and would marry him in a heartbeat if he were real — I’m not even kidding. lol But I also love their dynamic. They are partners, best friends, perfect compliments to the other. They see each other in a way no one else does, and they are the one person the other constantly risks everything for. They are both so driven by their responsibilities to their people, yet that all typically goes out the window the moment the other is at risk. I don’t believe in soulmates in real life, but it’s nice to get to believe in this fictional world that they are just made for each other.

BESIDES Bellarke, what character or pairing do you like best on t100? My favorite character besides Bellarke is John Murphy. His arc has been BY FAR the best on this show, going from that little shit in S1 to this “asshole we love” in the middle to now a true hero in this final season. And through it all Richard Harmon has been amazing to watch on screen.

My favorite pairing besides Bellarke is Linctavia. Yes, that ship is problematic in a lot of ways, but I still loved their dynamic. Lincoln helped Octavia navigate this new world that she was so desperate to be apart of while being mindful of her safety. And I thought they were a good match — he helped tame her fire without putting it out, and she helped challenge the way he was raised. Given time, I think they could have become one of the most stable and loving relationships on t100. Of course, that couldn’t happen because Jason needed Bell’s actions in 3A to have heartbreaking consequences, O to spiral for her own character journey, and whatever mess happened off-screen between Ricky and him. But they still remain my favorite ship aside from Bellarke.

Why did you decide to start writing for bellarkefic-for-blm? The second I saw that Sam was planning on doing this, I reached out to ask how I could help/write/be involved. The BLM movement is so important, and this is an amazing way for me to contribute while pursuing my passions. It’s a way for the fandom to get involved and do something good. And ultimately, this helps organizations that need donations. Shameless plug for everyone to please go check out the Bellarke Fic for BLM page — check out the many amazing writers and artists we have participating, and send in prompts. Most of us are allowing WIP chapter update requests, and there are a number of us (myself included) who are matching donations made! No donation is too small, and you’ll be supporting a movement that is a necessity in the U.S. and beyond.

What’s your writing process like? My mind is literal chaos, so I plan and outline like hell in order to make sense of everything. When I get an idea for a fic, it goes on my Notion database. Within Notion, I write down my inspiration for the idea, and a pretty in-depth summary of where I want the fic to go — dialogue ideas, any feelings/emotions I want to invoke, literally just a brain dump of all my ideas. From there, I’ll arrange that brain dumb into an outline. If it’s a one-shot, I’ll generally write the whole thing in the Notion doc. But multi-chapter fics will get a checklist within Notion for me to keep track of progress, and I’ll actually write the fic in Google Docs. I generally start writing from the beginning of a story, but if I get stuck or have an idea for a later scene, the fact that I’ve outlined heavily allows me to jump around as ideas come to me. I’ll read each one-shot or chapter after I’m done to make sure it flows before publishing. I post chapters for my WIPs as I write them, which I should really stop doing. lol For my readers’ sakes, I should work ahead and publish on a schedule rather than making them wait for my slow ass to finish chapter to chapter. But right now, that’s my process!
