A/N: We have never written babies before, this is likely not proper baby behavior.

Emily had been Walker's everything.

Growing up an only child for the longest time, he had at first though not liked her, this new baby, coming into the household and stealing his limelight.

His parents had paid tons of attention to him before Emily, but then she had seemed to be the only thing they could focus on.

He'd been upset, obviously, started acting out to get any source of attention from them. Did anything he could think of to get their eyes off that, in his personal mind, stupid, baby.

And then she's started walking.

A baby walking was trouble with a capital T. They figured out they were at the right height to grab things, and grab things they did.

Walker hadn't cared at for the most part, unless she's grabbed his things, then he'd pitch a fit, which often made her cry, and lead to him getting scolded for getting mad at her because she was just a baby and he was suppose to cater to her till she was old enough to understand.

He'd hated it.

He hated her.

She enjoyed teetering about near the stairs, especially when no one was there to stop her.

Well Walker was there, laying on the floor nearby, scribbling away on paper with his coloring pencils and not paying attention to her.

He's not sure when the feeling suddenly hits him, to turn his head towards the stairs and look at her.

She was toddling around too close, being a stupid baby. But then she fell. Not the first time, but this time it was so much more dangerous.

Any one with half a brain could see the outcome coming from a mile away.

The sound of their son's loud screaming as he fell down the stairs is like an alarm.

Really it'd been stupid, what he did.

But in the moment, seeing Emily start to fall down the stairs herself, Walker had found that he didn't really hate her enough to watch her possibly get hurt.

So he'd done what a big brother is always suppose to do, protect their younger sibling.

Maybe not one of his better choice when it came to his own safety though.

But Emily's alright, unaware baby that she is, squealing on his chest like their tumble down had been a game, safe and sound. She decides to tug on his hair considering he can't get away from her like he would normally be able to, as their parents rush down the stairs towards them.

Walker had earned some bumps and bruises, the worse injuries only being a broken arm and a sprained wrist. He could've landed a lot worse to be fair.

It's not fun only having the use of one arm for a while, but Walker gets over it. It didn't really matter in the long run.

Emily tugs on his hand, trying to pull it into her mouth.

"I still think you're pretty stupid," Walker tells her as she manages to get his knuckles in her mouth. "And gross."

Stupid and gross, but also rather alright. For a baby.

Well there's the best answer we have to what is and isn't underwater. I don't have much in the way of headcanons for how society would look like there or what the political borders are since we know Nothing, and anything anyone could say would be baseless. There has been very few implied mentions of north america though...

In the art of splatoon 2, in the concept art for bisk, there are mentions of california...well actually this is a bit of a mistranslation

The location mentioned is "Kanifornia". kani=crab. Crabifornia? lol There's also a pun in here lost about him going to the club because he's a crab. japanese transliteration of the english words "crab" and "club" are both クラブkurabu. This is just concept art, but i headcanon Kanifornia is a real place that's in about the same spot as real world california, and a lot of the people there are crabs lol

on page 215 of Haikara Walker, there is also this...

"These cartridges are ones that have been released in a region different from Inkadia. Although the shape of the cartridges are different, it seems that the contents itself are not. The difference in culture can really be felt in the place where the label features the pixel art"

these boxes are a clear reference to the style of boxes of the US releases of NES and SNES....it could also be PAL in there too. some europe releases use something closer to US box art, but from the snes cartridge shape, definitely based on US at least. Anyway I want to believe that the region shown is truly in the splatoon world's north america and not just another part of japan like the splatlands are. And just like in real life US and JP, there's some different cultural sensibilities between inkadia and the region of splatoon world's north america.

what people don’t get about percy’s fatal flaw being loyalty is that it isn’t a cop-out resulting from the main character syndrome or rick trying to keep unlikeable traits away from percy–it’s that even a noble trait like loyalty can become bad or fatal to oneself if practiced in extremes. that’s literally the whole point. nothing, absolutely NOTHING is good in excess. that’s why we have the phrase: _____ to a fault. fill in the blank with good attributes all you want, the meaning remains the same. loyalty can and will become a source of moral conflict and self-destruction if not leashed to healthy amounts. and that’s why percy’s extreme loyalty is a flaw because it hurts him and makes him go against the “morally right” thing to do. his loyalty is fatal to his ownself. you cannot call any trait a “good” one if it comes at the cost of harming the one that displays it, can you? loyalty is inherently a good, noble thing to practice but when you stretch it wide, when your personal loyalty to someone blinds you to the hurt it causes others and yourself, when you cannot critique people you’re loyal to (something percy very much struggles with), it becomes a flaw. a fatal one.

he's also maintained a fondness for german rock, techno, industrial from his berlin party boy phase but he doesn't keep that up to date with it
