at first I was gonna delete my previous posts but I don't really care. Anyway, in regard to the amber heard/johnny depp stuff, I've done a bunch more general research from a variety of sources, bias taken into account, and I've more or less come to this conclusion;

Johnny Depp was abusive. Amber Heard was likely also abusive. They both saw themselves, genuinely, as victims of one another. Truth was they were/are both awful, especially together. I think a lot of the stuff Amber's tried to do charity-wise activism-wise has been completely disingenuous, and I think Johnny's insistence on the trial was a totally shitty and unnecessarily cruel thing to do, both to himself and to his ex wife.

The issue is that neither person is particularly trustworthy or really worth "siding" with.

#not tagging this with their names because I don't want to start a fight with the adamant defenders of amber specifically #it's one thing to be mad that depp was essentially cleared #it's a totally other thing to insist amber did no wrong and has always been telling the truth

if i had a nickel for every time i had a "best friend" who would rant to me extensively about this other person who's supposedly this cartoon villain who ruined their life only for me to realize they were the toxic literally fucking abusive one all along despite them being nothing but sweet to me personally and then ending up besties with the person they hated all along after they told me their side of the story in detail i'd have two nickels which isnt a lot but its weird it's happened twice
