Okay but also Trent threatening Essek is so fucking funny in hindsight considering Trent's been in prison for seven years. Does he even actually know that Caleb is with Essek or is he making an informed guess based on Caleb having a type and the few protective interactions that he witnessed? Does he not realize Essek's been out of the Dynasty for ages? Does the Dynasty still not have hard evidence against Essek? Does Trent really believe that they'd listen to the word of an escaped convict from an enemy nation who was imprisoned ostensibly for turning teenagers into assassins that were probably used to target the Bright Queen herself?

why do they not want us to see that moment between mike and el? why is that moment of contact and intimacy between mike and el hidden from us? completely obscured? shouldn't every moment of intimacy like that be front and center or at least visible, because that is how to develop a relationship in television/film? and why is the exact opposite true for the byler scene?

i saw a great post the other day about how mlvns struggle to understand our points and analyses because they are viewing this as real life rather than what it really is: a completely fabricated tv show. and this is a prime example of that. why would the directors do this? if mlvn is so important to the story, and we are supposed to like them, why would they not put that moment on display? shouldn't that be a priority?

and also, here's what i mean by 'put that moment on display' :

like it can get no more fucking obvious than this. they WANTED us to see this, and they wanted it to stick out in our memories. mike reaching out to touch will (which he was afraid to do at the start of the season) is practically served to us on a golden platter under a spotlight. this moment of physical intimacy between them is clearly VERY important. they want us to think "this is beautiful. this is emotional. this is important."

and when mike does practically the same action with el we can't even see it
