a little bonkers to me how the make-up and practical effects for jecki lon and tasi lowa actually looks really good; their make-up blends well and actually looks really natural. and yet, star wars make-up department still can't figure out how to do green face-paint that doesn't look god awful :/

I think it's fun how something that was almost certainly originally done for practical purposes has resulted in a Defining Mike Walters Character Trait.

Like the cowboy voice in the og Mikey/Mike/Michael episode is so clearly there, because having the same voice for three separate dudes is a Bad Listening Experience that makes everything more confusing. Except now there's like 4677163 versions of Mike, all voiced by the same guy, who has to keep coming up with ways to differentiate them.

Which has the hilarious implication that Mike Walters is the type of guy to have an identity crisis and immediately start practicing a new voice in the bathroom mirror to cope.

Watched Masters of the Universe (1987) tonight and boy, it was certainly... a movie!

Like, He-Man's whole schtick is the sword gives him powers or whatever, right? The entire movie is him using the sword once or twice in a fight and then just shooting a laser gun. The bad guy Super Assasin Group are three horrible monsters and one guy who just really loves knives.

The guy playing Skeletor really put his whole ass into the role though, and he was basically the best part of the movie.

I loved the movie though like it was bad but enjoyable.

Just remembered I have a psychiatrist appointment so early tomorrow. And I obviously dyed my hair so recently because there's green staining on my face. VENT - I feel like if there was better education around abuse and violence, and abuse and violence prevention, we'd be able to interrogate more how it is so much a community, cultural, and systemic problem, and arguably less of an individual one. This does not dissuade any fault individuals have in creating violence and perpetrating abuse, just so no one's confused here. We have to see that violence and abuse perpetrators do take the responsibility for their actions. Obviously. But to open this up to wider responsibility would lead to far better discussions about wtf was going on at the anti-black lynch trail wrt Armand's complicity and level of fault in it.

Far too many people are unwilling to see that he was not the one to orchestrate or plan this, because they'd rather pin violence and abuse all onto a single individual. (Which is dehumanizing btw, to us even because it implies we've accepted these terms for ourselves as well).

This is an expectation I'm aware just isn't possible though, and Interview!Fandom certainly is not ready to confront this. Not everyone was when it came to the abuse Lestat perpetrated in S1 (those who watched an entirely different show apparently and deny how race played a role in the violence and abuse, throughout just everything not just Lestat). So it's just gonna be me and the handful of others IG. Shout out.
