All of this who would be lamb and goat got me thinking
So I decided to have my go at it with drawing them as characters from my favourite game: Cult of The Lamb!
.
#I haven't played Cult of the Lamb myself but I've been exposed to it through social media osmosis#it looks visually nice and potentially interesting but I'm under the impression that it's challenging#and if you've followed me for any time at all you might know I don't get much enjoyment out of games that are hectic and punishing#stuff just stresses me out#is it good? would you recommend it to someone who doesn't care about combat? is the story worth it?#I've been tempted to give it a try for a while now but my time is so limited these days#Lamb Vasco and Goat Machete look adorable#Vasco's shapes are so much rounder and softer than Machete's#bouba and kiki#gift art#panthera-leo-persica#Vasco#Machete#own characters

I hate to ask but who is hua Chang
Hua Cheng is the deuterantagonist of the Chinese web novel Heaven Official's Blessing! It's a historical fantasy novel about gods and ghosts and cultivators (xianxia) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. It's also a gay romance (danmei). The main themes are destiny, love, and what it means to be a good person. It has a comic version (manhua) and one-soon-to-be-two seasons of animation (donghua).
He's an 800+ year old ghost who has a sentient sword made from his own dismembered eye, runs a city, turns his enemies into blood rain, creates silver wraith butterflies and has been devotedly worshiping/pining after his god, Xie Lian, his entire life. This book is the longest hyperfixation I have ever had. So I think it's pretty good (understatement of the century).
I can and have written essay length rants about him but here is a paragraph i wrote a while back about my favorite things about him, to sum up:
His gender probably. The way he looked fate in the eyes and said “fuck you, old man” and built a highly successful life of his own. How he is so fucked up but still hyper-competent. How all his strength comes from love. How his devotion changed as he grew up but never wavered. The way he is kind but not nice. His infodump swag.
#and thousands of words of fic!#eurghhhhhghghg hes so. the character fucking ever.#me reading tgcf for the first time and seeing an edgy gay-longing complex character with a neat visual design : Oh No#his full title is Crimson Rain Sought Flower because once when he was making it rain blood (as you do) he sheltered a flower.#also he has multiple forms. for most of the beginning of the story he appears as a teenager with both eyes#this is as brief an explanation as i can give you. i am showing SO much restraint.#i had to edit this post for conciseness an embarrassing amount. the tags too.#is the multiple social media accounts themed after him and constant drawing giving away that i like him#important note: i do not kin him and i do not simp for him#i am a xie lian and wei wuxian kin. if this tells you something about my mental health no it doesnt im just a silly guy#tgcf#not art#hua cheng

the way I cannot stand sa//ltburn but I've made people watch it with me 3 times
#the thing is the first bit is so good and has so much potential#but it goes down the drain bc fennel is fucking rich and did Not understand the story she could've told#so what was Almost a story about class disparity and an interesting commentary on wealth#became a boogeyman scary story for the rich about the middle class social climbers#who are jealous of their wealth#and I think she was Trying to say something like she really thought she said something#but being wealthy herself just doesn't fucking Get what people are talking about when they talk about class problems#like!!!! the beats are there!!!!#and with like.... 1 major change and a couple minor changes the story could've been great#I think if a poor or even middle class person had told the story it would've been incredible#instead it wound up SAYING NOTHING GGGG#pisses me the fuck off every time I go on a rant#whatever I just think oliver should've been Actually Poor with a solid motivation that wasn't just jealousy#and the fucking cattons should've Actually been despicable rather than presented as this like#flawed but ultimately quirky charming and sympathetic family getting fucked over#THOSE TWO CHANGES COULD'VE MADE IT MY MOVIE OF THE YEEEEAR#whatever whatever WHATEVERRRR fucking movie#and so I think it did actually wind up being one of my faves?#but if only bc it's so visually stunning and the set up is so there#and then I get to go on an hour long tangent about what should've changed

this is a drawing from 2021 that i still like. it looks off, it's wrong at a fundamental level ( i dont know anatomy...i dont know a lot abt drawing honestly. im like a child w a crayon and a tiny portion of the bedroom wall to mess around with), but i think it's charming that way. all i care abt are colours and mood anyway
#i guess it's a little personal lol#last year i made it my year of quote-unquote ugly art where i dont pressure myself to make presentable work#or at least presentable to the public#even that is a little questionable isnt it#i dont know whats presentable...i have the impression that crisp rendered work is#keeps an artist and their observers in a box#so i started to post art that is more to my taste rather than the one dished out by social media algorithms#it's freeing#im happy to see people like my mess#im happier making them too#in a way my obsession w plotless stories extend to visual art#there must be a story here#but it's going to take some time to form bc theres no concrete parts to parse#it's funny the way i dont really care abt numbers but i wish to see evidence that im seen in some way#and i thought to make what i want is to deny myself that attention

If I had a nickel for every time I got into a fandom for something that was overly bashed by the internet to the point that I can't avoid seeing the hate even while I'm actively trying I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
#Sonic games and MLP G5 BTW.#And I want to make it clear I'm fine with people criticizing them... it's just that their criticism is often shit.#'Wah you can't tell serious stories with colorful characters!' 'Wah the 3D games work differently than the 2D games!'#'Wah the world is different from G4!' 'Wah the animation is weird!' 'Wah bean mouths!' 'Wah social media!' 'Wah phones!' 'Wah baby!'#Sure you Could criticize their actual issues but that would require more critical thinking skills than parroting Twitter opinions.#Jouska's Thoughts#I've only watched 2 videos today and they have nothing to do with the Sonic games and MLP G5 series yet was slapped with hate for them.#Granted. The one about the line from Forces about Sonic being tortured for months is fair.#But then I just wanted to watch a video about silly bootleg ponies and the Youtuber just shits on MYM for no reason.#I swear the way people describe MLP G5 makes it feel like I watched an entirely different series than them.#Or maybe I care about things like story and themes while all they care about is visuals and lore. And also their strange hatred for babies.

Whispers in the River Mist - A Serene Morning in a Small Fishing Village
There is tranquility and simplicity etched into every brick building, wooden bench, and weathered storefront sign. Despite technological advancements beyond these village limits, there seems no rush towards progress in this secluded haven. Even time flows slower; one mustn't disturb the balance of nature and those dwelling beneath her protective veil. Here in this idyllic spot, there exists timelessness and immunity from societal burdens. It would make the perfect escape for any jaded city dweller yearning for simpler times in calmer days.

andor is the root for my star wars interest since like. February. But also fault cannot be denied re: mark Hamill gender envy
#iiiiiiiiiiiiiii wish#cannot find the gif I had saved where he ruffles his hair#sw#GOD#Also I find it incredibly interesting how many different genres star wars explores and alllllllll of the different thematic facets#it can explore#like andor is incredibly neat with its anti fascist and anti-authoritarian stances and it pacts absolute punches visually#vs. the like. ~weird~ political state of the prequels#vs. the novelization of ROTS which FULLY leans into the tragedy element#or the first two seasons of the mandalorian wherein that post empire timeline/guy who knows FUCK ALL aspect#is played well#I wish I liked videogames so I could play KOTOR or Jedi fallen order#and the thing is#I knowwwww it is making Disney fuck loads of money#but at the same time it leaves so much room to explore different thematic stories#like rogue one and the prequels are both tragedies!!! but they handle themselves completely differently#the force related storylines feel so epic#whereas the storylines of something like andor explore elements of tension/weight that the previous stuff hasn't really had space to handle#with more grounded and socially critical elements

1977: Radio Aut
by Alex Camilleri
Genre: N/A
Pitch: A visual short story documenting the true struggles of an anti-Mafia activist Peppino Impastato in mid-20th century Sicily.
My expectations: The Itch page provides a one-sentence description and no screenshots. Pretty gutsy. I have absolutely no idea what to expect.
Review:
Prior to 1977: Radio Aut, I’d never heard of political activist Giuseppe "Peppino" Impastato or his efforts to free the Sicilian town of Cinisi from Mafia control. It’s a great story… in the wrong format. 1977: Radio Aut casts players as Peppino, presenting his story through text, illustration, mood-setting audio, and interactive decisions. The 8-bit-ish style looks fine, but thematically, it’s completely out of place. Text is often difficult to read, not helped by a number of typos—significant issues in a game that’s mostly about reading words.
By my rough tally, there are 104 text screens, 26 of which ask for player input. Not a bad ratio, except that most offer only a single option or otherwise prevent the story from going down the wrong path. That leaves just seven screens with two selectable choices, and none of those make any difference, because this is a true story about a real person. It only happened one way. Why not show Peppino’s story from another point of view, casting players as a fictional Cinisi resident, pulled between Mafia intimidation and Radio Aut’s call to action? Why not make a YouTube video? Or a Tumblr post? This medium doesn’t suit the message.
+ A great, true story I'd never heard before, and might not have ever heard otherwise. + Despite my complaints about playing the role of Peppino, the second-person narrative structure is a reminder that you, the one playing the game, have the power to fight for change. + Fully playable in a browser for free. Start to finish, you're looking at 5-10 minutes
– What's the point of interactive fiction without interactivity? – Games have the power to put players in a place and time, encouraging empathy and understanding in a unique way. 1977 speeds through decades of Peppino's life, giving an overview of a few major turning points, but rarely pausing to consider the texture of his life or the small steps toward big action. – Wikipedia says Peppino's newsletters and broadcasts were full of satire and puns. A joke or two would have gone a long way in this deadly serious downer. – Text is difficult to read.

From River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
-----
Edit 1: took the first video down because turns out the animator is a terf and it links to her blog. Really sorry for any distress.
Edit 2: All recommended readings + Haymarket recommendations + essential decolonization texts have been uploaded to my linked gdrive. I will adding more periodically. Please do buy or check them out from the library if possible, but this post was made for and by poor and gatekept Global South bitches like me.
Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)
Edit 5: Google drive link for academic books folder has been fixed. Also have added a ton of resources to all the other folders so please check them out.
Edit 6: Added interactive maps, Jadaliya channel, and masterlists of donation links and protest support and of factsheets.
The twitter accounts I reposted as it was given to me and I just now realized it had too many Israeli voices and almost none of the Palestinians I'm following, so it's being edited. (Update: done!) also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.
Edit 7: Complete reformatting
Edit 8: Complete revamping of the social media section. It now reflects my own following list.
Edit 9: removed some more problematic people from the allies list. Remember that the 2SS is a grift that's used to normalize violence and occupation, kids. Supporting the one-state solution is lowest possible bar for allyship. It's "Free Palestine" not "Free half of Palestine and hope Israel doesn't go right back to killing them".
Edit 10: added The Palestine Directory + Al Jazeera documentary + Addameer. This "100 links per post" thing sucks.
Edit 11: more documentaries and films
Edit 12: reformatted reading list
Edit 13: had to remove @palipunk's masterlist to add another podcast. It's their pinned post and has more resources Palestinian culture and crafts if you want to check it out
Edit 14 6th May '24: I've stopped updating this masterlist so some things, like journalists still left in Gaza and how to support the student protests are missing. I've had to take a step back and am no longer able to track these things down on my own, and I've hit the '100 links per post' limit, but if you can leave suggestions for updates along with links in either the replies or my asks I will try and add them.
Edit 15 10th August: added to Palestinian allies list and reworked the Help for Palestine section. There's been a racist harrassment campaign against the Palestinian Tumblrs that vetted the Gaza fundraisers based off one mistake made by a Gazan who doesn't understand English. If you're an ally, shut that shit down. Even if you donate to a scam GFM, you're only out some coffee money; if everyone stops donating to all the GFMs in fear of scams, those families die.

Innovative Ideas to Boost Social Media Interaction
In today’s digital world, getting people to interact with your social media posts is very important. More interaction helps you build a stronger online presence and connect with your audience. Here are some simple and innovative ideas to boost social media interaction:
1. Use Interactive Content
Interactive content gets people involved and keeps them interested. Some examples are:
Polls and Surveys: Ask your audience questions to get their opinions.
Quizzes: Create fun quizzes related to your topics.
Contests and Giveaways: Have contests where people need to like, comment, or share your posts to enter.
2. Go Live
Live streaming lets you connect with your audience in real-time. It’s a great way to show the human side of your brand and answer questions directly. You can do live Q&A sessions, product demos, or behind-the-scenes tours.
3. Use Stories and Reels
Stories and reels on platforms like Instagram and Facebook are very engaging. They are short, fun, and easy to watch. Use them to share quick updates, tips, and behind-the-scenes content.
4. Personalize Your Content
Personalized content makes your audience feel special. Mention your followers by name in comments or messages, and create content that matches their interests. Personalized shout-outs can also increase interaction.
5. Leverage User-Generated Content
User-generated content (UGC) is content made by your audience. It’s real and can be very engaging. Encourage your followers to share their experiences with your products and feature their posts on your page.
6. Collaborate with Influencers
Influencers have followers who trust their opinions. Partnering with influencers can help you reach more people and increase interaction. Choose influencers who match your brand values and have an engaged audience.
7. Ask Questions
Asking questions in your posts makes people want to comment and share their thoughts. Make sure your questions are open-ended to get detailed answers. For example, instead of “Do you like our product?” ask “What’s your favorite feature of our product?”
8. Create Shareable Content
Content that is interesting, entertaining, or inspiring is more likely to be shared. Make posts that your audience will want to share with their friends. This can include fun facts, motivational quotes, or helpful tips.
9. Use Visual Content
Visual content like images, videos, and infographics grab attention and increase interaction. Make sure your visuals are high-quality and relevant to your message. Short videos are especially engaging and easy to share.
10. Utilize Hashtags Effectively
Hashtags help more people find your posts. Use relevant and popular hashtags to reach a bigger audience. Don’t use too many – a few good hashtags are more effective.
11. Engage with Your Audience
Interaction goes both ways. Respond to comments, messages, and mentions quickly. Show appreciation for positive feedback and address any concerns. Engaging directly with your audience helps build a loyal community.
12. Monitor and Analyze Performance
Use analytics tools to track how well your posts are doing. Look at likes, comments, shares, and reach to see what works best. Use this information to improve your future posts.
By using these simple ideas, you can boost social media interaction and build a stronger connection with your audience. Engage, entertain, and inspire your followers to create an active online community.
