Hi! I'm Lo. Welcome to MY WORLD, aka coolpixdump. As of this writing (1/2025), I have been running this photoblog for 7 years, so it seems like it's about time for a statement of purpose.

The tagline says "Exploring the intersection between architecture, infrastructure and nature" and that's a big part of this project. I am heavily influenced by the New Topographics photographers, who were trying to show the impact of humankind's "progress" on the natural world. I think of my work at the exact middle ground between their work, William Eggleston's, and the paintings of Edward Hopper. I'm interested in capturing the beauty of the banal, the elegance of the everyday. I want to illuminate the haunting aura of all the places that no one else thinks to photograph.

The majority of the work I present here is shot with my trusty Nikon Coolpix 3200. For more information on the cameras I use, see my cameras page.

I hope to one day put together a book. But for now, it's all here.
