For the past month I've been working with @konstantynowitz in making family trees for our original characters within the hp universe. As of late, we've gotten pretty far in the development of the families working together. I'd already said in a post I made this afternoon that I have been assigned the Rosier branch of this tree and intend to expand on it the best I can. This collaboration will definitely not be a fast process, but in time we hope to complete the entirety of this tree and fill in a couple blanks for you guys to get the full picture of what Konstantyn and I have created together. Right now, there are a few missing pieces within the Rosier branch, but in the next few weeks I plan to complete it. In this tree, I've added a few new ocs into the family. I will go over a few names with you in this post, as well as give you a glimpse into the tree itself.

From the sneak peak Konstantyn had posted recently about the English branch of the Lestrange family, some of you might've already seen part of the Black family's side of the tree. Let's just say that the Blacks will be the last tree Konstantyn and I work on together as it has the most members, but right now my main focus will be on the Rosiers, which are featured on the right side of the tree.

The Rosiers were a wealthy and influential pure-blood family and allies of Grindelwald from the late 1920s to the late 1940s. At the top of the family tree are Eglantine Rosier (née Volant) and Laurent Rosier, both loyal acolytes of Gellert Grindelwald. Eglantine and Laurent are the parents of Druella Black (née Rosier) and Étienne Rosier, who is Konstantyn's version of Rosier Sr., a classmate of Tom Riddle. In addition to Druella and Étienne, I have created my own Rosier sibling, Céléase, who is the youngest of the bunch.

Here are the children's birth dates in order:

Étienne Rosier - b. 1926

Druella Rosier - b. 1932

Céléase Rosier - b. 1934

Laurent Rosier was born in France within the year 1903 and was the younger brother of Vinda Rosier, Grindelwald's most faithful servant. Around the 1930s, Laurent was imprisoned by the French Ministry when he was found guilty of financially supporting Grindelwald and his Alliance. By 1936, he was released with the support of many prominent pure-blood socialites who were either close acquaintances of Rosier, or close friends that all shared in his ideals. The charges against Laurent were dropped and shortly after this incident he moved his family to Great Britain.

There are a few blanks regarding the earlier members of the Rosier family, which is something I am going to be working on later. As of now, I don't have names for the parents of Eglantine Volant or her husband. In spite of this, I have made progress on Eglantine's maternal line which consists of the noble Trefle-Picques family that hold a French Dukedom within their bloodline, and the Escoffier-Floquent family (a wizarding family of my own making).

I have nothing much else to share about the Rosier family itself, but I have been branching off a bit into the French side of the Lestrange family and have connected both lines through Minette Rosier. In this tree, I've made Minette the great-great-aunt of Vinda and Laurent, which would make their father (who is currently unnamed) third cousins with Leta Lestrange.

I know that it’s still a little bare, but I am going to keep working on building it up and will post updates with @konstantynowitz so that we can show the progress we are making with all of this. I would understand if some people may still have questions because not everything that I’ve introduced about the Rosiers was explained in this post. I’m open to hear anyone’s thoughts or questions about anything so feel free to message me anytime.

Rosier family headcanons

Warnings: includes non-canon ships like Rosegold (Vinda Rosier x Queenie Goldstein), and my own ocs

Druella and Rosier Sr were both born and raised in France up until the late thirties.

Vinda Rosier is Druella and Rosier sr’s aunt, their father is her younger brother.

Ella’s father also was an acolyte of Grindelwald and a member of the Alliance alongside his elder sister.

He was a fervent believer in Grindelwald’s cause but the Rosier family’s association with the dark wizard oftentimes made them a target of the French Ministry of Magic.

Aurors would visit the Rosier household regularly, especially if they had been tipped off about meetings being held there amongst Grindelwald’s followers.

Usually they’d disguise these meetings as balls or dinner parities just to keep the Ministry at bay, but that didn’t exactly prevent them from being discovered.

Druella wasn’t allowed to these “parties”, her mother Eglantine Rosier would always send her up to her room before they even began.

She would secretly spend most of the night peering over the upstairs banister with her brother so that they could eavesdrop on the conversations being had by the house guests.

Vinda would usually notice both her niece and nephew sneak out of their rooms to try and get glimpses or hear the little gossips coming from the party.

But she’d never reprimand them for their snooping and instead just let them be. I think Vinda would be rather proud of Ella and her brother for preferring to indulge themselves in topics regarding the current instabilities of blood purity and the strain muggles were having on wizarding society.

After all they were going to have to learn eventually, even if now their interest was just out of childish curiosity.

I’m sure Vinda has tried to convince Eglantine to let the children take part in one of the meetings, even if only to get some insight on the purpose behind them.

Eglantine wouldn’t budge though, but that was only because she was looking out for the best interest of her children.

She didn’t want either Ella or Rosier Sr to be caught in the crossfire of the Ministry and Grindelwald’s acolytes if they were to be discovered.

Eglantine thought that it was best for her children not to know too much about the discussions being held by Grindelwald’s followers in fear that they would be targeted by the Ministry if they had even so much as an inkling of what the acolytes were plotting.

In reality she just wanted to keep them safe, especially when her husband was taken into the custody of the French Ministry.

That’s when things started to go down for the Rosier family.

Druella’s father had been arrested by French aurors for hosting and harboring members of the Alliance, as well as promoting Grindelwald’s ideologies and allegedly being in direct contact with Grindelwald himself.

In spite of the piling evidence that proved Rosier was guilty of these crimes, his imprisonment upset many influential pure-blood families who saw this as an attack upon wizarding society within their own government.

With the support of many prominent pure-blood socialites who were either close acquaintances of Rosier, or close friends that all shared in his ideals, the charges were dropped and he was released from Ministry custody.

Rosier moved his family to Great Britain around 1935, just before his son was expected to start school at Beauxbatons.

Due to the family’s sudden move, Rosier Sr was instead enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he would befriend Tom Riddle and become one of his Knights of Walpurgis.

Druella would also attend Hogwarts only a few years after his brother’s enrollment, although her mother would’ve preferred to send her to Beauxbatons.

Vinda has always been ambitious and driven by her supremacist values. People underestimate her because of her beauty, but trust me she is not just a pretty face, which I think is more than self-explanatory considering the fact that she is basically Grindelwald’s right-hand man, or should I say woman.

Druella always admired her aunt, not only because Vinda always carried herself with so much elegance and grace like a woman of her time and class should, but because Vinda Rosier was formidable.

She was an unstoppable force of nature that should never be reckoned with. Vinda’s gaze was piercingly sharp and she wielded this aura of confidence that Druella never believed herself capable of exuding herself.

I gotta say non-canon Vinda Rosier and Queenie Goldstein are my otp. Don’t get me wrong I love Jacob for Queenie but Vinda is just so ugh 😫 I wish they could’ve ended up together!!

There’s just something about their dynamic that awakens something deep within me that I didn’t even know existed like— Rosegold is pretty much the air I breathe.

I could see Vinda and Queenie living in a beahtiful French villa raising their little blond curlycued baby after Grindelwald’s imprisonment.

Whether or not Vinda got with Queenie, I’d still headcanon her as a lesbian. She never married, she never had kids (at least not in canon).

I imagine that if she lived to meet Druella’s daughters she would be like an honorary grandmother to them.

Vinda definitely took pride in Bellatrix who would’ve reminded her of herself when she was younger.

She would’ve definitely taken Bella under her wing, and like her mother Bella would idolize her Auntie Vinda for her independence and brilliance that set her aside from all other women of her time.
