“randomly assigned freshmen year college roommates” is an underrated relationship origin imo. I had never met you before in my life and then we lived together in the same small room for nine months and also we were both 18 and didn’t know who we were yet while that was happening. Tbh I don’t even mean in a shippy way I just think it’s fun to assign characters this origin story especially if they are wildly different people and have been out of college for 20 years and they are still in each other’s lives

#The Atypical Family #I haven’t enjoyed/ been so moved by a drama in a very long time ❤️#just finished it I cried so much & SO hard haha #I was completely immersed and engaged from beginning to end which is rare (12 eps is a good length too)#I didn’t expect it to have so much depth and be so touching going into it I just wanted something different #mental illnesses complex interesting characters complicated -toxic- family relationships fantasy fated lovers found family...#well written and WONDERFULLY acted!!#the whole cast was amazing but the two leads were just outstanding wow #never saw either of them in big roles and now I’m a huge fan of both #Chun Woo Hee I’m so in love with you #I’m usually more touched by the female lead (actress/character) but the male lead actor was acting his ass off and made me SOB many times #his scenes with his daughter Ina oh I was a MESS and of course the lead couple scenes together <3 #I also haven’t been that impressed by romance lately in shows but theirs was truly beautiful (and again: really well acted)#I could relate to parts of most characters: Dahae Donghee Gwiju Ina..#a poetic emotional rollercoaster and my favorite drama this year so far (by far)#now I want to carry on watching Queen of Tears (mainly for my Queen Kim Jiwon I’m her number one fan) and watch Lovely Runner too #but it will be hard to beat this one and I highly recommend it!!#deserved more love & attention #my mom loved it too it standed out to her and she watches ALL the kdramas lol #forgot to mention the magical OST I see you by the oh so great Lee Sora and her bewitching voice <3 #I also haven’t been so moved by an ost in a long time it added so much to the atmosphere of the drama & really transported me into its worl #korean drama #2024 #shots #cinematography #jang ki yong #cheon wo hee #Claudia Kim #park soyi

just going about my day idly contemplating how some of the ways hawke can interact with a romanced anders are not at all unlike how they interact with leandra (and a bit of carver too, especially with a purple hawke), and then thought about my hawke in the timeline where he romances anders and was hit straight in the face with 'was he ever actually in love, or was he just desperately trying to renegotiate with his mother's ghost in any way he could' and now i need to lie down. this is the power of dragon age 2

#'you don't know my mother' haunting me through the years #dragon age #dragon age 2 #hawke #On second thought let's not go to Kirkwall; it is a silly place #there are of course as many ways to do/read that relationship as there are players to interact with it haha and all valid!#but my personal version of handers is sooo fucked up and bad times for everyone involved and I love it haha.#this is a relationship neither of them should have been in and that made everything worse and everyone unhappy in the end #locked tomb levels of the horrors of love. i ship it but in the way that I want to make it sadder and more gutwrenching each time #to be clear this is a very mutual two-way kind of fucked up but I think varric in his loyalty and love would downplay hawke's side of it #for huge swathes of their relationship anders is not in a mental place to be a good partner and the emotional blackmail is Not Okay #(but it's just like how mother used to make it! hawke's soul cries sadly as it reaches for it hungrily)#which is in some ways fair enough no one could accuse him of not warning you ahead of time fjskda #but hawke is messy about it in a way only available to a covert people pleaser who has never had a millisecond of therapy #with some added stuff that my hawke is always acespec in some form and when he gets together with anders...#is the sex something he doesn't particularly care to have or not have but it 'makes anders happy'/he longs to feel wanted *and* needed #and also a way he gets out of ever being *actually* vulnerable (which I think he'd had to be with varric for example if he Went There )#'you want the hawke who's in your head so badly and I kind of wish I were that hawke too. so let's be collaborateurs with that fantasy'#(and then maybe if I do it right every time you'll finally be happy hawke says in his heart looking at this leandra-anders phantom form)#(and echoing stuff in varric's relationship to hawke but I think the important distinction there is that varric -- is a craftsman haha #he KNOWS when he's lying/making up a story he KNOWS the difference between what is and what he wishes the world was #(I think there's some deep longing there to not know; for it to blend together or have the power to change things. but he always knows)#which ironically leaves him in a better position to actually see and understand hawke the person #even as he is creating hawke the literary figure. almost to protect him in some ways? god da2 is so full of STUFF!!! I adore it)#and of course anders gets so disillusioned with hawke's inertia and lack of action (you all but married this man anders!#you should know this about him he's already carrying the whole family and city on his shoulders if you add a gram more he'll collapse!)#and hawke feels so desperately hurt that the promise anders seemed to make that he'd be enough -- that he could fix things for him --#('I'm the one bright light in kirkwall and that apparently doesn't count for shit so I'm just slowly turning to ash for you')#turned out to be untrue. anyway. sad now. imagine them meeting like twenty years on what the fuck could you even say to each other then #(I can't imagine Hawke ever physically hurting anyone he loves so he just tells Anders to leave at the end of DA2. they COULD meet again

They're very interesting! And in love! And cute!#Big love always gets me real bad haha ♪ I just love love - especially so when it's got some meat to it hehe #Betty and Simon are/were very good for each other and it's extremely sad that they never got to grow together into marriage et al #And/but they were also very flawed people! I've always liked this line of dialogue from SQX, because it does feel like at the end of the day, no matter how much SQX says he can't stand PM, he does still have a decent grasp of his character.

And on the other side of this, these words are just especially pointed towards Pei Xiu, who does have a good relationship with his boss/ancestor, and also going off his backstory, Pei Ming may well have been the first person in his life to acknowledge him and his talents.

So the whole thing just feels extra sad.

#that said it does bug me that px never seems to feel guilt over his own actions only how those actions affect banyue and pei ming #get it together you sopping wet cat of a man!#i've always wanted to write this but don't have the skills necessary #but i think a lot about if pm's faith in px does feel uncomfortable - is he acknowledging him because he sees his worth #or because he's a pei (something that has never helped px in any way in life)#everyone calls px a nepo baby but no no he's a hard worker and earned what he has #if anything i feel like being pei ming's descendant is still dragging him down because he's the only upper court official we know of #who's playing subordinate to someone else instead of managing his own domain #(fandom always thinks he's middle court but no its stated several times that he ascended properly lol)#(and i just find that beautifully tragic and fitting in his own way)#(px: always the understudy never the lead)#aaaanyway this all contrasts in a fun way with sqx who is the actual nepo baby #is also worshiped in conjunction with someone else BUT never reduced to just that relationship #idk just as pei ming's relationship with both shiblings is important to me #i find sqx's relationship with both peis very fascinating and wish sqx + px could be explored more #and also I want to see where swd + px fit into all of this because there's also so much potential there!#(incidentally the thing that started all of this is i was skimming the russian tl for something the other day)#(and noticed this line was translated as 'pei ming would never behave in such a way')#(and just thought that sqx calling him 'pm' here instead 'your general pei' gives the line a different vibe haha)#(it's sounds both more intimate and pointed if that makes sense?)#(anyway can you tell i am very starved for peixuan content? both peixuans)#tgcf #random tgcf thoughts #shi qingxuan #pei ming #pei xiu

I see a lot of people I knew from school posting pictures on their social medias with all their friends doing various fun things together. Meanwhile, I'm sitting at home wishing I could take a group photo with all my Tumblr mutuals to post so I can brag about having the best friends.

#too much of my social life is based on Tumblr but i really don't get out much since I don't have a job and i made like 1 friend in school #so i don't really know anyone to hangout with other than my siblings and my one friend #and i don't go out much exept for occasionally to the library or the store so i don't get the chance to meet new people #i used to have all 5 of my sisters at home and that was all the company i needed #but now they've all moved out except for my younger sister and im realizing that im very deeply lonely #i need to get a social life! but how!#Also i think this is part of the reason I jumped into things too quickly with my ex gf now my best friend #like I was so excited that i had found someone who was just as interested in being friends with me as i was with her #that i misstook my feelings for her as romantic ones cuz i was so lonely and she was such a good friend #and i was so scared to tell her cuz I didn't want to ruin our relationship. it didn't. we're still besties.#but i think im so lonely idk if I'll be able to know the difference between platonic and romantic feelings #and part of that definitely comes from being ace as well #anyways there's my tangent for the night about why I need a better social life and maybe a bit of therapy too #haha that got super personal oops 😬#might delete these tags later

#Whywithaquestionmark #Car Seat Headrest #trigger warning for eating disorders I'm sorry I don't know the best way to tag them I never had to before #I was having a conversation earlier about how I have a very specific relationship with fasting #in that for me specifically I feel like it’s just slow-burn starvation #because it gave me an eating disorder #this idea that if I just stop eating then I'll lose weight and if I lose weight I'll be better #that eating was a moral failure on my part because if I just held out a little longer then I'd be beautiful #so when I'd eventually break fast because it had been days and my vision was fading #I'd make myself throw up afterwards because I had failed #that morphed into all the different little toxic relationships I have with food #I still consider myself a monster for eating #I still lie about how much or how often I eat #and after I stopped forcing myself to throw up after every meal all the consequences hit #my hair started falling out my teeth started falling out all the weight I lost came back #and there was this voice in the back of my head that said that if I had kept going none of that would have happened #and that's kind of true because either those delayed consequences wouldn't have hit #Or I would have actually succeeded in starving myself to death #anyway I relapsed after dinner tonight and purged again and the why? song came on shuffle on the drive home #and I thought it was a little ironic haha #and I ate some more when I got home and I'm really struggling with this one right now haha #because I told myself I wouldn't have anything else to eat tonight but I did and now I feel like I have to pay for it #I think people forgot I was bulimic a few years ago or I just thought I told them and didn't #because it seemed like news at the dinner table lmao #I don't talk about it a lot because it's really upsetting to people I care about #But I haven't made myself throw up in a long time so this is kind of scary I think #Or maybe I shouldn't be scared and instead I should just force of will this #back myself into a lose-lose situation where I either hate myself for eating or hate myself for starving/purging #that's the only way my brain knows how to function I guess #whoever wins we lose haha whatever

nanowrimo day thirty: i fucking hate nanowrimo numbers but here we go! wrote ~700 words of sad gay dialogue and met my own little goal of 10k. overall, I used the word "you" 286 times, "and" - 275 times, AND "the" - 266 times. 29/30 days because fuck that one day, I have no idea where it went. anyway. I think my relationship with this wip is kind of healthy now! (watch me return to the madness the following day, as usual)
