Pandemic Revisionist History.
I don’t know how these things got memory holed other than there’s been just a continuous firehose of covid minimization, pandemic disinformation, and lockdown revisionism, that everyone’s senses became overloaded with the mere exposure effect of repeated nonsense and it’s created informational learned helplessness.
The nature of coronaviruses.
We always knew that coronaviruses don’t tend toward long-lasting immunity, and that making vaccines for them has been elusive. This was a known thing. This wasn’t unexpected. So anyone who claimed that there would be herd immunity of any type in 2020 was ignoring everything that was known about coronaviruses. Many of course knew this hopium for natural immunity was bullshit. And there were people pushing back on it in 2020. But nobody wanted to hear that, of course, and people telling people what they wanted to hear of course has always been popular. And so we have All The Variants now - and this shouldn’t have been unexpected, and was not unexpected.
Vaccination is a public health measure.
You always need high uptake for vaccines to be successful public health. This has always been the case. This à la carte mindset, and restricting of safe vaccines for a widespread disease, where anti-vax is left to stand mostly unchallenged, is antithetical to previous vaccination campaigns. The polio campaign in the U.S. was successful because of a concerted effort to do a door to door campaign that started before the vaccine was even available. But for some reason since this covid pandemic started it’s been “if you wanna” and so uptake isn’t even barely mentioned even in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) October 23, 2024 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The only person who mentioned the need for messaging and uptake and overcoming distrust was Robert H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, the NFID medical director, (National Foundation for Infectious Diseases). Vaccine uptake is important and it’s always been that way.
Funerals are important to most people, but big crowded funerals are not essential.
Back in the 1990s there were things said about the ebola outbreaks in Africa that I now realize were horribly racist. Professionals in the news were quoted as saying that the African citizens were uncooperative and wouldn’t follow simple rules. An example is the LA Times article from 1995 which reported: “one microbiologist said he was terrified that the virus would spread like wildfire because people were sneaking into the hospital to visit their dying loved ones, possibly carrying the virus with them when they leave.” People often remarked it was because of backward superstitions that they wouldn’t give up their funeral rites, even to save themselves from ebola. I remember this well. When this covid pandemic swept in, I heard about so many people who were going to funerals, insisting that they had to go to indoor wakes and funeral breakfasts, and doing all sorts of other unnecessary things. People are people and make decisions based on impulses, and that’s why societal rules exist, to give people guidelines based on collectively known information. On Conspirituality Podcast and in an LA Times op-ed about the Stanford covid contrarian right-wing symposium, it was reported there was outrage about how people were kept from big funerals in the early pandemic, as if not having funerals was uncivilized and backward.

640,000 children saved from paralysis?
by Dr.Harald Wiesendanger– Klartext What the mainstream media is hiding Because polioviruses have appeared in Gaza, the WHO is vaccinating 640,000 Palestinian children. Upon closer inspection, what looks like a great humanitarian aid operation turns out to be a hair-raising scandal. In June 2024, in the ninth month of another war between Hamas and Israel, a poliovirus appeared in sewage…

This Call the Midwife episode reminded me that nurse af yidish is kranken-shvester. I love how many languages do just call nurses "Sickness Sister" or "Medicine Sister"
#in Russian it is medsestra/medbrat#in Polish it was siostra a long time ago but now is pielęgniarka#which derives from the German pflegen#by the way medbrat gave rise to my favorite ad slogan#in 2020-21 there was a campaign to get people vaccinated for COVID#and the poster showed a male nurse getting the jab while flexing#with caption v chem sila medbrat

woke up this morning and immediately read the entirety of the robert kennedy assassination page for reasons entirely unknowable
#after that i read the page about the chappaquiddick incident#and then i angrily texted shannon demanding to know why the kennedys are considered some impressive political dynasty when the main guys ar#1 guy who became president and died about it#2 guy who supported israel during his presidental campaign and died about it#3 guy who murdered a woman through inaction and instead of trying to get her help complained to a hotel manager about a loud party#that woke him up#like why are we venerating these dues#the most famous one from the next generation is a vaccine denier#i don't like the bushes either but at least two of them successfully became president which seems already like a more impressive dynasty

What do you think of antivaxxers? I mean, people who reject vaccines even though we have many available today.
That is a real shame. Mlle. Hopster has mentioned how effective vaccines are in the modern day, so it saddens me that people aren't accepting of it.

#((I've yet to find Larrey's opinions on vaccines))#((but given everything else he did during the egyptian campaign))#((it would come as no surprise.))#anon#responses from the baron

The Stigma of the Dark Ages.
What they’re talking about here is a society which has moved backwards, and is paying consequences already.
NPR - As the respiratory virus season approaches, where does the vaccination rate stand? November 27, 20244:47 AM ET Heard on Morning Edition By Rob Stein , Rob Schmitz Part of it is the lingering skepticism and outright hostility from the pandemic toward the COVID vaccine specifically and vaccines in general. Another factor is that people tend to underestimate how dangerous both viruses can be while overestimating vaccination risks. There's a lot of misinformation about how well the vaccines work and how safe they are. And finally, a lot of folks are just sick of vaccines because of all the shots they've gotten over the last few years. You know, put it all together and a lot of people are just feeling kind of done with vaccines. I talked about this with Dr. Gregory Poland. He's president of the Atria Academy of Science and Medicine in New York. GREGORY POLAND: “As a society right now, we're in a phase of rejecting expertise, of mistrust of any expert, whether it's science, meteorology, medicine, government - whatever it is.”
This is not unusual, there is no guarantee that society progresses forward. The Dark Ages happened, and that period was not the only time of regression on science.
MedPage Today - Nursing Homes Fell Behind on Vaccinating Patients for COVID — Billing complexities and patient skepticism partially to blame by Sarah Boden, KFF Health News December 5, 2024 Loveland has seen patients and coworkers at the nursing home where she works die from the viral disease. Now she has a new worry: bringing home the coronavirus and unwittingly infecting her infant daughter, Maya, born in May. Loveland's maternity leave ended in late June, when Maya wasn't yet 2 months old. Infants cannot be vaccinated against COVID until they are 6 months old. Children younger than that suffer the highest rates of hospitalization of any age group except people 75 or older. Between her patients' complex medical needs and their close proximity to one another, COVID continues to pose a grave threat to Loveland's nursing home -- and to the 15,000 other certified nursing homes in the U.S. where some 1.2 million people live. Despite this risk, a CDC report published in April found that just four in 10 nursing home residents in the U.S. received an updated COVID vaccine in the winter of 2023-24.
Going forward is a choice.
Public comment to CDC HICPAC committee November 2024 Infection control in healthcare. Chloe Humbert Nov 15, 2024 The Dark Ages was called that because society moved backwards from the technological advances that had come before. The fall of the Roman Empire was marked by elites who only cared about the status quo; they could’ve developed a steam engine as far back as Heron in 15 BC but didn’t bother. Going forward is a choice. In an article in the Journal of Infectious Diseases & Preventive Medicine there’s a description of what happened back then. “In medieval times, hospitals were hazardous places, Epidemic infections killed large numbers of hospital patients during this period. Hospital infection and death rates were high. When a sick person entered a hospital, his or her property was disposed of, and in some regions, a requiem mass was held, as if he or she had already died.” Going backward is a choice.
Stigma is part of a backward slide, and even if people don’t choose to go backward, we are all subject to community level leadership influences.
It’s called STIGMA. - wat3rm370n on tumblr - Oct 4th, 2024 When you hear that “people are tired of it” - that’s also part of stigma. And it’s not necessarily true that people are actually just sick of it - but they keep being told they should be. Informational learned helplessness can do that to us. Stigma is leveraged and reinforced on purpose by big money industry interests who think any reminder of danger at all is bad for business. So it’s to some degree manufactured stigma.

Is Covid still going on in America? For real?
This is graph of new infections in Poland in last three years. The big peaks are 2021 and 2022, while the barely noticable red pixels at the end are current infections. They're technically spiking now since it's Autumn but you still barely can see them.
Jesus fucking christ.
basically every day i feel like i have to post this meme i made a while back
#There was a huge campaign to vaccinate in 2022 and also restrictions and lockdown#are you guys okay

Recently there has been a fall in engagement with Palestinian content on tumblr, and for those of us who are helping Palestinians fundraise it is very obvious that this has happened directly after the very public smear campaigns, carried out by some racist users with significant followings.
It seems half the site somehow found it easier to believe in the horseshit about “belgian scam rings” and “russian botnets” in an effort to justify their apathy towards genocide victims, and the other half seems to think that everything is over and that the evil was defeated just because some racist bloggers got run off the site after giving half-hearted apologies that did nothing to mitigate the damage they had done.
THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL IN DIRE NEED OF HELP !! There are people who are still getting death threats from zionists every day and have to stay on this godforsaken website because their gofundmes haven't reached their endgoals yet...
I'm going to keep this brief:
Siraj's ( @siraj2024 ) family including his parents, and his five siblings and their families were displaced during the recent attacks by IOF on deir al balah
This means there are now 23 family members that Siraj is the sole provider for at the moment.
10 of those members are young children.
Siraj's wife, Halima, is having a terrible flareup of eczema and his children are suffering from skin infections and badly need medical attention.
This whole family has been living in unhygienic conditions in 2 tents, packed like sardines during this heatwave, leading to spread of infections between them as well– all during a time where hygiene products have become unaffordable due to the israeli blockade, and when water has become scarce, and kids cant even receive life saving vaccinations during polio epidemic.
All this while everyday siraj risks his life trying to reach out to us from an internet point amidst violence and shelling from the IOF in what once was a “humanitarian safe zone”, even more desperately than before because–
THIS FUNDRAISER IS NOW THE ONLY LIFELINE FOR FIVE FAMILIES INSTEAD OF JUST ONE !!
Currently at $55,614/ $82,000 CAD
