re-watching vm v. m9 and i forgot how fucking ruthlessly beau killed scanlan holy shit girl talk about daddy issues

cartoon keyleth is such a downgrade from campaign keyleth. she really did just become "focus group approved Woman" because of how whiny the fanbase was about her being thorny and rude. it's why i'm okay with matt in c3 sometimes being sloppy with her motivations because at least it's just him misremembering and not an active choice to misrepresent her to make her "sweet innocent naive girl" for whatever reason.

yeah the short-form nature of tv has Flattened a lot of these characters and arcs, unfortunately. i can't say that i'm surprised by that general vibe and it was present in the prior seasons too, but i am Surprised and Dismayed by some of the changes they're making that, in my opinion, are actively flattening what could've been kept pretty faithful to the campaign and authentically complicated. why are we making changes to deeply rooted and important character motivations??? to what end??????

this is not really related but truly one of my deepest fears is that we're gonna revisit vm in c3 and marisha is gonna play keyleth as this less interesting Nice Girl With A Broken Heart bc that's the caricature she's been for a while, what with tlovm and matt's recent interpretations of her. i don't know what i'm gonna do if that happens. get gaslit into space i guess

Also the Cooldown conversation about using different flags or clothing items for switching between M9 and BH characters reminds me of the VM v. M9 one-shot where Tal signaled the switch between Percy and Molly by wearing and removing his glasses

Hi! A question for your broadway au. One of my favorite broadway traditions is the Legacy Robe, which honors the chorus member who has the most chorus credits to their name on opening night of a musical (you can see part of the ceremony in this vlog, starting at the 2:00 mark. Personally, I could see Orym recieving it, and perhaps Eshteross when he was in his prime.

I absolutely agree with you on Orym, and I also think that Laudna and Molly would be up there in chorus credits too. Other than that, I honestly can't see many of the M9 being stage performers, I feel like they would mostly be doing behind the scenes stuff. And let's be real, all of VM are pretty much leads all the time, with the exception of Keyleth who has quite a few chorus credits, but definelty not enough to get her the legacy robe.
