Just wanted to point out, Arrax (Lucerys' dragon) is also son of Syrax (Rhaenyra's dragon)... so both mothers are mourning in this scene

ASOIAF AU || As part of uniting Westeros in peace and happiness, Queen Daenerys I Targaryen arranged a series of marriages as her ancestors once did. One such match was between her nephew, Prince Aegon, and Arya Stark, the Queen in the North. In truth, the "arrangement" was in name only as an affection had grown between the pair as they fought beside each other during the Long Night. So it was that when their impending marriage was announced, their first babe was already on the way.

Traditionally “Feminine” Female Characters
THAT person: We need more traditionally feminine female characters again!
Me: Oh… okay. What exactly makes a female character “traditionally feminine” in your opinion?
THAT person: Traditionally feminine female characters are kind! They are soft, peaceful, express their emotions all the time no matter what, and maybe they are also smart idk, but they are NOT warriors that are tough and “badass” just for the sake of it.
Me: Well, it sounds like you are voicing frustration about two dimensional female characters that so happen to be tough and “badass”. What I DON’T understand, is why that’s a problem when the character is a woman/femme, but not when said character is a man. Especially when, historically speaking, one dimensional male characters tend to be reduced to “just badass and strong and unemotional” and nothing else way more often than AFAB characters ever have. Whereas women have largely been reduced to “soft and emotional and weak” for the better part of western written history.
That person: Because men are supposed to be strong and tough and women are supposed to be soft and kind and weak—
Me: Oops! There it is.

Actually I think Jon coming to King’s Landing could have been incredible. For various reasons but like. He’d go to the Tourney of the Hand and watch Loras give Sansa a rose and at first he’d be like. Literally whatever. The Hand’s daughter got flowers at the Tourney of the Hand fork spotted in kitchen. But then all his brain alarms would go “!!!! Some southern fucker just gave flowers to a Stark girl at a tourney!!!! I have a working understanding of geopolitics of the last 20 years!!!” And he would Have to go wreck Loras’s shit in the training yard (since obviously Dad Isn’t Allowed To) and they would beat the crap out of each other and Jon would absolutely hiss and snarl at Renly too if he got mad enough and anyways that’s how Jon becomes like attached to Renly and Loras, like they are one shouting match away from becoming a toxic gay throuple of outsider youngest sons, and Ned is watching this sweating bullets waiting for either the Targ-Baratheon Grudge Genes or the Stark-Baratheon Attraction Genes to win out. Arya is highly dubious of everything going on and Sansa just wants people to stop kicking the shit out of each other so she can go back to not paying attention. Renly is trying to figure out whether letting his possible new boyfriend’s?? dad get fucked over by his sister in law is like. going to play well or not.
#asoiaf#valyrianscrolls#vi stop talking#like to be clear nothing about this is cute. they are beating the shit out of each other and it’s getting homoerotic is the thing.#jon snow#loras tyrell#renly baratheon#agot#the tourney of the hand#ned stark#sansa stark#arya stark#asoiaf au#admittedly I don’t know that Jon knows abt the tourney of harrenhal like. literally does he know abt the rose crown???

the R+L=J reveal doesn’t matter to me anymore I’m Team the Jon Snow Psychological Stew that will be Ned Stark’s lookalike at Winterfell with the Catelyn Tully lookalike and feral red-haired Rickon in his father’s house where he never felt he belonged has his Stark impostor complex validated
"If you kill a man, and never mean t', he's just as dead," Ygritte said stubbornly. Jon had never met anyone so stubborn, except maybe for his little sister Arya. Is she still my sister? he wondered. Was she ever? He had never truly been a Stark, only Lord Eddard's motherless bastard, with no more place at Winterfell than Theon Greyjoy. And even that he'd lost. When a man of the Night's Watch said his words, he put aside his old family and joined a new one, but Jon Snow had lost those brothers too.
Every morning they had trained together, since they were big enough to walk; Snow and Stark, spinning and slashing about the wards of Winterfell, shouting and laughing, sometimes crying when there was no one else to see. They were not little boys when they fought, but knights and mighty heroes. "I'm Prince Aemon the Dragonknight," Jon would call out, and Robb would shout back, "Well, I'm Florian the Fool." Or Robb would say, "I'm the Young Dragon," and Jon would reply, "I'm Ser Ryam Redwyne."
That morning he called it first. "I'm Lord of Winterfell!" he cried, as he had a hundred times before. Only this time, this time, Robb had answered, "You can't be Lord of Winterfell, you're bastard-born. My lady mother says you can't ever be the Lord of Winterfell."
I thought I had forgotten that. Jon could taste blood in his mouth, from the blow he'd taken.
In the end Halder and Horse had to pull him away from Iron Emmett, one man on either arm. The ranger sat on the ground dazed, his shield half in splinters, the visor of his helm knocked askew, and his sword six yards away. "Jon, enough," Halder was shouting, "he's down, you disarmed him. Enough!"
Not being Ned’s son will hurt, not being Robb or Arya’s brother? That’s going to destroy his sense of identity more than anything else.

I said it once and I’ll say it again
Writers who are hired for adaptations or continuations should deal with characters with neutrality.
We all have our faves but here’s the thing you’re not writing a fanfic for yourself, you’re writing an adaptation that’s going to be shown for everyone, for the entire fan base , for newcomers too and getting paid a good price for it.
regardless of how you feel about said character , they should get what they deserve, the fans of this character deserve to see their fave properly written, to have them well showcased in their own media, do the characters justice.
Respect all the characters and Respect the established plot line.
Respect the fans of the individual character not just the shippers.
Don’t let shipping and bias influence your writing decisions to the point where you lose and sacrifice major characterisation and plot points for their sake.
( this is honestly for all writers in all media )
Let your characters exit outside of their ships . don’t change them to fit into the ship.
let them exist outside of your own influenced view of them.
#You don’t like the character don’t make them villains when they’re not you love the character don’t make them saints when they’re not.#arcane league of legends#arcane netflix#arcane vi#caitlyn kiramman#arcane jinx#house of the dragon#prince daemon targaryen#daemon targaryen#rhaenyra targeryan#alicent hightower#sara hess#anti sara hess#ryan condal#anti ryan condal#george r r martin#game of thrones#daenerys targaryen#sansa stark#arya stark#writers#fandom behaviour#fandom wank#arcane season 2#hotd season 2#hotd#heimerdinger

Arya x Aegon
"You," Ned said, kissing her lightly on the brow, "will marry a king and rule his castle, and your sons will be knights and princes and lords and, yes, perhaps even a High Septon."
The perfect prince but still half a boy for all that, with little and less experience of the world and all its woes
“History never repeats itself, but it does often rhyme.”
My all time favourite crackship!!!
Never drew them properly before because I couldn’t figure out how young griff would look like. I ended up just looking at official art and fan art of him as well as some models.

@pscentral event 17: vibrance ↳ POLYAMORY COLOURS: Jon/Daenerys/Arya/Aegon
On the Seventh day of the Seventh month of the year 307 AC, House Targaryen united with House Stark in a double wedding between Queen Daenerys to Jon Stark and Prince Aegon to Arya Stark. That these were love matches is not in doubt. But rumors of a deeper love extending between the four of them can be disregarded as nothing more than rumor.

I just wanna say thank you for not demonizing Ned Dayne and Bella in your Gendrya work. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of reading some fics where those characters (along with Aegon and the Heddle sisters) were made into these ooc villains and it made me lose interest in the pairing for a while. Not saying all Gendrya shippers are like this because usually Gendrya shippers don't resort to character-bashing, probably because Gendrya gets hate over Arya supposedly not being pretty/feminine/empathetic enough for Gendry according to fandom misogynists. But it does dishearten me when "rival" characters are bashed because frankly, they shouldn't be a threat to Gendrya at all.
Thank you, I'm glad you appreciate my interpretation of these guys.
On the other hand, I realize that writing about the characters you mention is difficult for a fanwriter. We know very little or nothing about the type of people they are so they end up being essentially OCs most of the times.

A Clash of Kings First Read - Chapter 26
(POV: Arya VI.)
Setting: On the road to Harrenhal; at Harrenhal (Gregor Clegane et al).
Favorite character: Arya, who is very clearly afraid but also shows strength (a kind of strength that makes me really scared for her, tbh).
MVP: Ser Gregor Clegane, for inspiring so much fear in his captives, even Arya who is not known, to me at least, for being easily scared. I guess the Tickler too then, for the same reason. And Tywin Lannister, even if it's only unknowingly, because he has Arya now. Here's to hoping he never finds that out.
Things I loved/liked:
Arya proving she is capable of surviving, by being observant in this case: You had to know who was lazy and who was cruel, who was smart and who was stupid.
Also, even though she's really scared, she's also very fierce (She hated the villagers for their sheepishness, almost as much as she hated herself; Otherwise she would have tried to stab Ser Gregor). And she's also very vengeful, with for example: Arya watched and listened and polished her hates the way Gendry had once polished his horned helm. If she ever gets the chance to act on her hatred... I wanna say poor Lannister soldiers, but honestly I think they'd deserve what would come for them.
Gendry being spared.
Arya calling herself Weasel after the little girl who got away in her previous chapter.
The description of Harrenhal and its surroundings. Appropriately horrifying.
Things I disliked/hated:
The two goodwives. For a moment, when they were clucking after Arya's calluses, I thought that they would be kind to her. Turns out they're not.
So everybody knows that Arya is a girl... And apparently they were r*ping women and girls every night on the march, so in a way thank God that Arya wasn't one of them...
I'm really scared for Arya in her new job. Because the understeward said, "When I sniff you, all I want to smell is fear," and I honestly think Arya's not that scared. But then again I said just before she's learnt how to survive by being observant, so hopefully she'll play her role and won't be harmed.
Arya doubting herself: The direwolf was the sigil of the Starks, but Arya felt more a lamb, surrounded by a herd of other sheep.
How desperate the villagers were to avoid being questioned... and how they were picked for questioning anyway. And obviously, the cruelty of Clegane and his soldiers (not that that is surprising though).
Quotes: Fear cuts deeper than swords, because it seems to be very important to Arya. I mean, I haven't quoted it in her previous chapters, but it seems to me it's like her mantra to keep calm. And it's rather poetic, so. Also, Maybe they thought that if they did not notice him, he would not notice them... but he saw them anyway and picked whom he liked. There was no place to hide, no tricks to play, no way to be safe, because it illustrates Arya's predicament really well (and that of other POVs in my opinion, namely Sansa). And lastly, Every night Arya would say their names. "Ser Gregor," she'd whisper to her stone pillow. "Dunsen, Polliver, Chiswyck, Raff the Sweetling. The Tickler and the Hound. Ser Amory, Ser Ilyn, Ser Meryn, King Joffrey, Queen Cersei." Here's to hoping she will get her revenge on them.
Thoughts overall: Way to make me anxious for Arya, GRRM. Thanks.
