So far I prefer Utopia (2020) to its predecessor Utopia (2014-2014) mostly because I don't care for this manufactured love triangle in the first few episodes and how every time there's a sex scene there is someone else unwittingly involved in it? That just feels like a weird thing to do *twice*, especially when the second time is a kid.

I also prefer the characters in 2020, I think Grant is much more empathetic in the US show and Jessica is more compelling in the US because in the UK she's just weirdly manipulative so far instead of matter-of-factly like "you're either helping or you're in the way". I liked Sasha Lane's take, she has more urgency.

I also love the incorporation of the actual comic into Utopia (2020), how we immediately know that there are people who "see the truth" and are actively solving puzzles versus just... Running around letting Jessica kill people when none of them even know about this Russian Flu yet.

Also Dr. Mike is, imo, more interesting in the US version. I've only gotten 4 episodes into Utopia (2013-2014) though maybe it picks up urgency!
