This is just a PSA to be kind to service industry workers. They have it rough, and I would know, I did it before too! Be nice. Thank you. I trust that you, who are playing this game and will never actually read these little text blurbs, are a good person and don't need to be told to be a decent person. I'm sure you already are. Despite what you may think considering the themes of this game and where it's going, I have some faith in humanity. Some. So be nice. I feel like maybe this text so far could be interpreted as a little wallowing and, like, cynical! Don't worry, I'm having the time of my life. Genuinely, it looks very disingenuous when I'm reading it back, but I promise I really am. I couldn't think of a more enjoyable job than this. I mean, come on, I'm filling out a stand-in for a very professional and official-looking book with a bunch of random nonsense, train of thought kinda stuff. Isn't that awesome? I'm having a cuppa tea, mint, if you must know, with a bit of honey from lavender nectar. So luxurious. It's important to treat yourself once in a while. I hope you too can enjoy some fancy honey in your tea, or in your coffee if you're into that sorta thing. Personally I think it's tastier than sugar. Well. Anyway. Here's another math thing, this page needs some more graphics. Isn't math wonderful? No. No, it isn't. That's why I'm an artist, and not an engineer. I wasn't too good at any of that. It is cool, though, conceptually. I'm just a hater because my brain can't comprehend numbers very well. Just never seems to make sense. So the world is lucky I decided to make a career change. Just in case I crossed some wrong wires or something. Swansea's got it, though. He's a good engineer. Got the brain for it. Daisuke maybe not so much. But don't tell him that.

if u feel comfortable answering, what are your thoughts on the jfk, rfk, and mlk files being released?

i think it doesn’t reverse back time. it doesn’t change anything. all three of them are leaders that we lost much too soon and very tragically. to bring their deaths up again to provoke some nonsensical sort of political debate or to use them as jack said “a political prop” is to dishonor them in a way — and especially in these times where there is so much hate and bigotry running rampant in the country.

instead of using them to prove a point about the government or about a conspiracy theory, we could use our time a lot more wisely by learning from them and what they TRULY stood for. that’s why i personally have never found it useful to talk about the conspiracy theories, whether they have a hint of truth or not, surrounding their deaths online or offline because it’s so trivial in the grand scheme of things. their deaths were tragic but they mean so little compared to what they accomplished in life, what they lived, and what they represented — the noble causes they championed, the people they touched and inspired.

if we think about the tenacity that every one of them had in life, i doubt they themselves would still be stuck in the way they died.

growing up, the assassination of jfk was what people talked about the most. it still sort of is. people are always like “yeah yeah he did this but THEN. get this. he was shot and it was most likely bc of x y & z” and i feel like that sort of conversation always undermines who they were as individuals. most of the world has gotten so caught up in the mystery of their deaths and in the mythicizing of their specific deaths that we’ve forgotten why we ever cherished them in the first place, why we believed in them, and why a lot of us still do. because the man is sometimes a lot more striking than the myths surrounding them.

lastly, their deaths caused a lot of pain to their loved ones. it left terrible and tragic ripple effects. i mentioned before how in a jfk documentary i was watching, a woman said how the greatest tragedy was losing him as a leader and losing what we could’ve had and yes… that’s tragic in and of itself. but the greatest tragedy to me is that all three of these men left behind a family. their deaths have been so blown up and greedily prodded upon, and to declassify the files only enables that behavior. and that’s not fair to their families who have spent so much time trying to heal and move forward, while also diverting the attention back to their legacies.
