💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖
For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?
📺 Streamer Mode!
I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.
Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh
This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!
⚙️ Custom Pronouns!
It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;
Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!
💗 Choose how others perceive you!
You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.
For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!
📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!
You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3
Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!
I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;
I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao
📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!
You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!
Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!
I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;
It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)
🖤 Additional Scenes Update!
Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!
If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.
After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga
🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!
I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!
I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.
Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.
How to download and play the update?
(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!
Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

one of my kitties has baby's first vet appointment tomorrow (won't eat and threw up overnight :( ) but they've both been playing a bit! confident little lads, they are.
they're both very cuddly. I had hoped for affectionate cats, but the babies like. Straight up do not get off my lap. I've been awake for 5 hours and the whole time I've been in the room one of them has begged for lap time. I'm love them
#worried about the boy since he did vomit amd is barely eating. but he used the litter box a few times and is drinking water.#either way i'm getting him checked out because its been 24 hours and hes only nibbled on food.#but before this he was very bold. tried to follow me out of the room after being home for 15 hours maximum#both are pretty curious and only one is skittish of loud noises#and even then she comes out of hiding quickly#and straight up they both love cuddles so much.#i couldn't tell how they'd be at the shelter since one was friendly and the other quite aloof#but they both seem like they're gonna be a good fit#i'm excited for them to have the run of the place. even though there are some things i need to find more secure homes for before then#but! yeah i was expecting them to want a lot of space and straight up. i want more space than they do.#they've been very demanding of affection and i am all too happy to give it to them when they ask#sorry for so many updates. i'm having a hard time telling how i'm feeling bc i'm quite anxious#but also. they are very sweet and i feel like one of them picked me at the shelter#i'm happy#they both already come up on the bed to curl up with me when i'm sleeping#(or trying to. i'm a light sleeper and they do wake me often. but they cuddle with me on the bed pretty aggressively)#getting used to the personalities is gonna be a learning curve bc i know they're gonna be different than my mom's cat#both are very quiet. mom's cat Hollers All The Time#but they purr like nobody's business. like constantly.#i think i love them already. augh

Getting the sense the other engineers who were concerned my job was too big for one person are very correct.
#this week: So go get the new line up and running 😁#this week actually: So the other Old line is falling apart and you need to be there to constantly plug the numerous holes#as it tries to fall apart around us#the upside is the new line is apparently not ready for set-up because the maintenance folks are also swamped#but a different tool finally came in so its not like i dont have another big project that i dont have time for!#meanwhile: Documents need updates and the back needs cleaning before the audit#and the whole place needs some serious maintenance/cleaning because its not had even One engineer dedicated to it for the last 5+ years#correction. it has 3 engineers none of whom lasted a year or had overlap#and when we Actually start running the second site? driving back and forth screaming the whole time#and of course QA has been auditing us for the last week which is there JOB I UNDERSTAND OKAY#THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME FIND THE GAPS THAT I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO FIX#i can do the 18 little things that pop up every hour or make an inch of progress on the big projects#WHY DID THE LAST ENGINEER NOT THINK ABOUT HOW WE WERE GOING TO ACTUALLY MAKE THE BATHS WHY-#anyway im stressed#but i have a trial ballet class tonight#deep breath its going to be alright

Going through a straight up comical amount of irritating situations to get the stupid 4* guaranteed ticket from the welcome to sekai campaign. It Will Be Mine.
#I’m resuming this tomorrow it’s been hours now I’m just mad#I’m home because my parents are moving to a different state and I needed to pack whatever was left#and for some reason we just keep old devices when we’re done with them#so I borrow an adapter to allow me to connect my ancient unworking iPad mini to my laptop#factory reset it. i have to reset an old email to access the old Apple id to fully reset it.#it won’t connect to the wifi so I have to reset the settings. i find out it’s too old to run pjsk.#i find an old phone that should work. i reset it as well. I’m able to download pjsk & it takes 20 minutes.#pjsk crashes everytime I try to open it. i attempt to run bluestacks on my computer. bluestacks doesn’t have 64 bit for mac yet.#i get a free trial of parallels and download windows onto my laptop. this takes 40 minutes.#i try to download and run bluestacks on that. m1 macs apparently can’t run bluestacks 64 bit through parallels.#i go find the final old phone that I had forgotten about. it takes forever to charge because the charging port is fucked up. i reset it as#well. it can’t connect to wifi. i try a hotspot on my current phone. service is too awful. i try to do wifi sharing from my laptop.#you have to be connected to the router via a cable for that to work.#at this point it has been like 3 hours. I’m giving up because I’ve been down this route before#when I attempted to run 32 bit steam games on m1 mac#(wine64 doesn’t exist for m1 macs yet -> attempt to run boot camp -> boot camp isn’t a thing anymore on Apple silicon -> attempt to run#several different programs that allow me to run windows on a mac. none of them work. ->#look into linux & give up. -> attempt to implement the unfinished/unbottled wine64 code thru terminal. ->#fuck up and delete some important file & have to fix that (misery inducing) -> keep trying. i think I downloaded a Mac coding program at#some point? i realize I have zero coding knowledge and this is a mistake. -> give up and purchase crossover. game doesn’t even work. ->#3 months later update to the latest OS so I can have enough storage to play psychonauts 2. find out the $60 crossover#purchase was a bad idea because ‘heehee crossover doesn’t work on that buy the new version’ (fuck crossover).#my toxic trait is my belief that I can figure out anything via google and sheer stubbornness. usually this is true. occasionally there are#exceptions to this rule. most of them are because owning Apple products is a mistake.#i think if I reset the router tomorrow I can solve this problem but I can also just go elsewhere with better service or wait until I’m home#now it’s a matter of pride. and also free 4*/I have nothing better to do because I’m stuck here until Tuesday.#<- this is all normal behavior by the way. who doesn’t spend 8 hours ramming their head against a problem every once and a while. enrichment#mine#oh I forgot. i also looked into cloning the app but that would cost money for something that might not even work.#‘just log out and make an alt’ and risk losing my account? Guys I win. I am packed and ready and all my assignments and finals are done and I have talked to my advisor and the only stuff left is things I have to do with my parents anyway. I get to relax and drink the hot chocolate I bought a few days ago and play Control and all is right with the world.
#i had to walk all the way to downtown because the bus never showed up#and i had to get an uber back because it was dark and cold and i didn't want to make the 40 minute trek back#but!!!!! i got my classes figured out. so it's ok. i just have to clear the holds on my account so i can actually register for them#(which will hopefully be within a few days)#so things will be ok#i'm good i'm fine i'm winning#and i am still triumphing over my bitch wife (my computer that hates when i play control)#i hooked up my laptop to my tv so now i can play control on a bigger screen#so i'm like. winning tenfold#i also downloaded yuzu because i wanna see if my laptop will be able to run a couple switch games#though this software is confusing the hell out of me and also totk is taking FOREVER to unzip all the files#but it's fine it's fine#we stay silly#i will update y'all if i succeed at getting it to run#or if my computer freaks out and plays it at ¼fps#ANYWAY#tag rambles
