Salazzle shiny hunting method USUM!

Hello! Today I am going to teach you the best way to get a shiny salazzle in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon! Yes I know I’m about 7 years late (dear god it doesn’t feel that long) but this method is by far my favorite even over the newest methods we have today!

Sit back, relax and let me teach you the cute charm sos method!

What you need:

A stock of adrenaline orbs

Potions

Pp restores

Antidotes

A Pokémon with cute charm

A Pokémon with false swipe

Best cute charm Pokémon

Male Milotic with cute charm

+ This is my top pick for a very good reason! It can resist all the fire attacks the Salandit will throw at you, it can dish out water type moves, and has the essential cute charm ability!

- however, the cute charm ability is hidden, so you will have to search for it a little more.

- This Pokémon does not learn false swipe which is not necessary, but highly recommended.

+ Relatively easy to find with cute charm, and you aren’t required to battle using it.

- Not very reliable for battles against Salandit

- friendship evolution

Step by step guide

Step one

Buy all the required items I at the top of this guide, do this at a poke mart.

Potions are needed to build up the Salandit kill streak. ( this will boost shiny odds )

Adrenaline orbs boost the chance they will call for “sos” aka other Salandit.

Antidotes are for curing yourself of the poison the Salandits give you.

Pp restores are used for the same reason as potions, to keep that kill streak as high as possible.

Step two

Place your male Pokémon with the cute charm ability at the front of your party. Other party positions and genders will not work.

The way cute charm works is it has a chance to infatuate the foe if it’s the opposite gender. However, it actually has a hidden effect to boost the spawns of Pokémon that have the opposite gender.

So if you have a male Pokémon with cute charm, congrats! You have now successfully boosted the chance to get a female Salandit from a measly 12.5%…. To a whopping 66.6% percent!

Step three

Travel to Wela Volcano Park and run into a saladite encounter.

Switch out of your cute charm Pokémon, and use false swipe.

Then use an adrenaline orb.

The Pokémon should call for help in a turn or two do not kill it!

When the salandit comes to respond to the sos call kill the salandit that just came to the battle. You want to keep the main one alive.

After the sos one dies, congrats! Just rinse and repeat this process by killing the responding saladit over and over again.

The only reason you should kill the calling saladit is when you eventually find your shiny, or if it’s going to run out of PP. Kill the main if it’s about to struggle, and move onto the new Pokémon it called and act like it was the first one you encountered!

You now have shiny odds of 1/273!

Okay so the fairy type run is...well we've had some rough patches, but we're making progress lol

Melody the popplio has evolved into brionne and I managed to find a Mime Jr with a decent nature

Next on the list of Things To Catch is going to be a cutiefly

I actually plan on catching literally all the fairy type pokemon available in ultra sun, never know which ones I'll need

I mean I know which ones I like best, but you need all the help you can get with monotype runs lol

It's actually my first time using the Mime Jr evolution line and he's already surprisingly strong with just the move Confusion, so he miiiight just become the mpv of the team—at least against poison types

I'm definitely not looking forward to battling Moylane tho....the tm for flamethrower is found stupidly late in the game -_-U so even if I used a wigglytuff his steel types are going to be such a brick wall

Sylveon can learn dig tho and mystical fire, but I think that last one has to be done by the move relearner, which again is stupidly late in the game

Eh idk that's all further down the line, I haven't even gotten to Ilima's trial yet bc the fuckin tutorial took a damn year & a half

shiny #2 of my shiny alolan trial quest! it’s shiny inkay named after Boss from aitsf! Sadly no contrary, and it’ll be a malamar, i’ll have to change its ability later when i beat the game! SoS chain of 359! I hope this is interesting? I wanted to share, and i want ideas of what to hunt for the water trial! leave an idea? sos or random encounter, i don’t really wanna breed for this but if enough people say to i will.

Beat the water trial, but not without some losses along the way.

Carmilla the Lunala died like 5 minutes after I made the last post fghjklkj, to a flying Krookidile.

Sly the Servine flew too close to the sun after so many clutch moments. Finally got taken out by a Mega Absol with Iceburn.

Chimichanga the Scolipede (named by Jt) died fighting Dexio. I don't remember what killed her fghjklkj

Regirock the Dragon type Registeel (named by Henry) got killed by just the meanest Torterra I've ever seen.

Orb the Skiploom (named by Henry) stuck around for a bit! I found a store that sold Ability Capsules and she got fucking Parental Bond???? I got too eager upon seeing that and she died almost immediately after.

Fruit Salad the Cottonee had been around since Hau'oli city, got killed by a Scizor with Horn Drill right after I finished the water trial.

Hotaru is still a beast. Just changed her ability to Adaptability to make Sunsteel Strike even more of a nuke than it was before.

Storm outspeeds basically everything. He almost never struggles and I can always rely on him. Really hoping to hold onto him since he's been with me the longest ever since I lost Sly.

Missile's still great. I mean. They're a Mega. Of course they are.

Pudding (named by Jt) has Primordial Sea, and even though she isn't weak to Fire, it's still come in handy quite a bit! Also for some reason when I do a Z move with Seed Flare it turns into a Steel type attack. Very strange! But not unwelcome.

Jeanne (named by Rachel) is a delicate flower. On one hand she has Wonder Guard, but on the other she has so, so many weaknesses. She can't take a hit from anything or she'll probably die! Learned that the hard way and now my only Focus Sash is gone. She has a Chople Berry for now until I find another one. She also has Spore and Nightmare which is funny.

Grooss (pronounced Gross) (named by Toast) is fairly new. Caught 'em early on but hadn't bad the chance to use them 'til now. Gave her the Black Sludge and that's been neat!
