The temperatures in Alola dropped when Christmas came.

"No no, you're going the wrong way!" You scolded Guzma. The former team Skull leader groaned as he tried to adjust the Christmas tree he was fumbling with. Your house, you got the choose where the tree stood. His Golisopod stood by, watching its trainer struggle.

"If ya know it so much better, why don't you do it!" Guzma retorted, stumbling as he nearly fell flat on his face with the tree. It took every ounce of strength you had not to film it.

"Because you're the big strong man in the relationship, remember?" You smiled, him grunting. It were his own words, and he wasn't going to take them back.

"Yeah, 'cause I am!" He replied, turning to set the tree upright back into the soil so you could stabilize everything.

"No that's not quite right... put it a bit more right," you mumbled, gesturing with your hand. Guzma groaned but did as you asked.

"I was the leader of Team Skull, chaos in human form! This is how I'm treated?" He complained as you laughed slightly at his frustration.

"You promised you'd help me," you replied with your hands on your hips as you watched him. "You know, you can tell me if it's too much for you..."

"Nah! Nothin's too tough for Guzma," he quickly retorted, setting the tree in the right position this time, and you motioned for him to stay where he was.

"Sure, Guzma." You hummed as you dug the tree back into the soil. Guzma slowly let go of the tree, sighing a breath of relief when it didn't fall over. "I believe you."

"Told ya, Guzma's got it!" He proudly exclaimed, putting his arm around you with a grin on his face. Glancing at the ornaments he put in the tree, the grin turned into a smaller smile. It had been so long since he had the ability to do something like this. Such a long time since he had true home he didn't have to run away from. His hand found your hair, toying with it a bit as he got lost in thought.

"Alright, time to make dinner." you gave him a playful shove as you went to the kitchen, your Pokémon partner following you. Guzma groaned as he trailed behind you, leaning on the kitchen counter.

You tossed your own Pokémon partner and Guzma's Golisopod a few berries, which they eagerly devoured, Guzma thieving a berry for his own, earning a gently smack from you as he snickered, going to set the table. You glanced at the tape that covered up the Team Skull logo, he still wanted to keep that jacket. Still, he had gotten so far already, and you were proud of that.

"The plates are in the cupboard on the far right," you called out as you watched him search everywhere for the stuff he needed.

"Yeah, I know that! Course I know that!" You heard back from him. You gathered the ingredients as he put everything on the table after trying his hardest not to look like he had just searched your entire house for the napkins.

He walked back into the kitchen, standing on his toes to give his Golisopod a pat on the head before jumping to sit down on the kitchen counter beside you.

"Ever the rebel, huh?" You questioned to his amusement as he smiled back at you.

"Team Skull ended, but I still got a reputation to keep up," he replied as he reached out to ruffle your hair until you gasped and gently swatted his hand away.

"Watch it you," you playfully warned him, pointing an icing covered spatula at him as a mock threat. Guzma just grinned, thieving the spatula so he could lick the icing off of it, sticking the entire thing in his mouth.

"What's all this fancy stuff for anyway?" He asked, his voice muffled as he still had the spatula in his mouth, glancing at the food you were preparing for you both. "I never bothered, got takeout or somethin' during Christmas."

You frowned lightly. You knew how hard things had been for him, even if he didn't see it that way, you put your hand on your wrist.

"I just want to treat my boyfriend, that so bad?" Guzma's gaze softened a little, but he was very quick to cover it up with his usual bad boy facade.

"Don't need nobody treating me," he grumbled as he looked aside but meeting your gaze again. "But thanks."

"No problem," you replied, your eyes going to the living room where your Pokémon were playing together. You decided to change the subject a little for his sake. "Are you going to help or are you just going to sit there?" You asked with a small smile as he hopped of the counter.

"I gotcha," he replied, taking the cutting board and working on some of the vegetables as you prepared the rest. There was a moment of comfortable silence as the both of you added your respective ingredients to the pot. before you put the fire on under it.

"All done," you said as you gave him a kiss on the cheek. Guzma hummed, pulling you close and placing a proper kiss on your lips.

"You gonna do that, at least do it right," he mumbled with a small smile. The two of you just stood there for a moment until you both nearly jumped out of your skin at a loud noise. Rushing over, you saw the tree had been knocked over, your Pokémon partner awkwardly looked at you as the tree laid on Guzma's Golisopod. Neither seemed hurt, but the tree was down again.

"You kiddin' me?" Guzma called out to his Pokémon, facepalming before helping you lift the tree back up. The side of it was messed up, but that didn't matter, not to you. Guzma seemed disappointed through, his brows furrowed as he helped his Pokémon up.

"Well, guess we got a unique little tree to match us," you replied, putting your hand on his shoulder. "Unconventional, but I still like it." You said, looking at tree.

"Guess you can say that," Guzma muttered, rubbing his neck. Despite all the commotion,

it was still his favorite Christmas ever.

i severely underestimated just how long i would be working on the 'small doodle'

so have this while im still working on the full thing!

i figured since i was 100% done with the lineart of primarina i could just throw some colour on it and call it a day. i didnt know what to do for a bg so i just threw on some gradients and hoped it looked semi-decent lol.

it also gave me some time to practice how to make the line art blend into the image a bit, and with what i learned i cant wait til im done the big one!!
