viktor and the pokemon pals i envision him with!!

a spiritomb, whose state reflects that of the wild rune anomaly beneath the hexgates. it appears to viktor early on, and its form changes over time to reflect the corruption; he studies it as it progresses.

a male salandit, who he's had since he was a child. viktor found him when working with singed and rio; it seems to have adapted to the flora in the cave there, growing the mushrooms that singed used to generate shimmer on its neck for camouflage and to fuel its body. after seeing rio suffer, he is very protective of him.

a klink, which animated itself from the gear that jayce and viktor made pass through the hex energy source in the floating magic strangely, it gravitated toward another gear of its kind, and eventually (to viktor's alarm) absorbed two hex spheres to power them both. while both a bit mischievous, the two connected gears have their own mannerisms, and seem very close.

So an egg that was left in my care just hatched into a baby Male Salandit (His name is Scorpio)! I am fully willing to take care of it and my house is already fire type certified, I do just have one question; do they do better in groups like Combee? Or is that not recommended for them since Salandit packs can get territorial?

male salandit without a salazzle are actually best kept alone! without the pheromones and dominant personality of a salazzle, male salandit will fight over resources like food and basking spots. this is stressful for the salandit, obviously, but it's also pretty dangerous for their trainer. salandit, when stressed or fighting, burn a poison that drips from glands on its tail, creating a toxic gas (this is why salandit trainers are encouraged not to spend a lot of time with their pokemon in an enclosed space). this sweet-smelling gas doesn't take long to knock out a human, and if a space is small enough, you can even suffocate on it.

so, keeping scorpio by himself is definitely the way to go if you don't have a salazzle! but in addition to fireproofing, make sure that you have respirators on hand, and don't let him hang out unattended.
