when I drew this comic 3 years ago I had NO idea how far it would reach. I'm happy to finally share a corrected version with proper abbreviations, and even MORE state names of indigenous origin ♥️
however, the goal of this comic was to inspire people to do your OWN research on indigenous history. To question everything we have been taught, and everything that has been pointedly left out. This erasure, this “forgetting”, of history is not just of the past… it is happening now. - Across so-called Canada, the US, and US-occupied islands, native women are victims of murder at 10-12x the rate of non-native people, and are the most likely to go missing without being searched for by the law. - Native reservations have the highest rates of poverty in the US, with over HALF of tribal homes with no access to clean water (with more joining this list by the year) - Native people are 6-10x more likely to be unhoused than the rest of the population, and native teens suffer suicide rates higher than any other demographic. This list of modern day genocide goes on (thank you for compiling @theindigenousanarchist <3) and yet take a look at those environmental stats!
Native people manage to do SO much for the planet as a whole - thanklessly - and with all this stacked against them. Don't even get me started on kin fighting in south america. Could you imagine if there was help? #landback is resistance to genocide, and it is the key to saving our warming earth.
So look into it and the other hashtags, cuz a cartoon goose ain't a substitute for a proper education. Love to my grandparents who always kept a map of tribal territories of turtle island on their wall, to speaking on our Tsalagi & Saponi heritage. Love & solidarity forever, happy research, and happy #indigenouspeoplesday

(Also, if you care to support the artist, I'm publishing a book ! and writing another - a fantastical afroindigenous graphic novel - that I post exclusively about with tons of other art on my patreon.)

A majority of Canadians would be hesitant to buy U.S. goods in response to the proposed American tariff on products from Canada, according to a new survey. The findings of a recently released Nanos Research survey suggest a tariff on Canadian exports into the U.S. would, for two-thirds of Canadians, negatively impact the likelihood they'd purchase U.S.-made goods.
On Nov. 25, U.S. president-elect Donald Trump said he would impose a 25 per cent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico until the two countries clamped down on drugs, particularly fentanyl, and migrants crossing the border.

BREAKING: Thanksgiving Terror Attack on U.S.-Canada Border, Car Explodes.
Tumblr media
A vehicle crossing into the United States from Canada on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, New York has reportedly exploded. All four New York international crossing between the United States and Canada are currently closed as the incident is being investigated. Sources have told Fox News that the incident was an attempted terrorist attack and the vehicle was packed with explosives. This report has not been confirmed by law enforcement officials, however.
Both state and federal officials are said to be monitoring the situation and the FBI is on the scene. K9 units have been dispatched by law enforcement on either side of the bridge as a precaution. Media reports indicate at least one male has been taken to the hospital with injuries sustained in the blast and at least two individuals in the vehicle are dead.

The 1812 poll continues to educate me on more historical events and developments happening in that year; although I think that most of them (including the Anglo-American War of 1812) ultimately tie into the global conflict of the Napoleonic Wars.
The Anglo-American War of 1812 is sometimes regarded as part of the Napoleonic Wars, although some events (Britain and France harassing USAmerican shipping) are more directly tied to the conflict than others... sort of? The USA trying to invade Canada dates back to our war of independence, tbh, although in 1812 the hope was that the British would be distracted by Napoleon.
The Dey of Algiers in 1812, Haji Ali, also opportunistically jumped into the Anglo-American War of 1812 on the side of the British, creating an Algierian theatre of war in 1814-1815. Clearly this was related to earlier conflicts between the USA and the Barbary States, but like... entering the War of 1812, really???
The North American theatre of war is something that I increasingly see as a conflict not so much between British and American interests—or other European colonial powers, like Spain—but a settlers vs. Indigenous nations conflict that dates back to the Seven Years' War. What would become the northwest theatre of the War of 1812 involved US States and territories that were already militarised against Indigenous people.

"There was no way they would allow U.S. law enforcement to enforce U.S. law on Mexican soil, to stop, question, search Mexican citizens. We had two really, really stark differences of opinion. Canadians were like, 'If it gets me to skip a half-hour line in Vegas, sign me up.'"
The United States of America invaded Canada without a single weapon being used. Canadians have been indoctrinated to American fast food, blockbuster movies, and formulaic pop music. Forget saving 30 minutes to clear customs, there are Canadians who would surrender our sovereignty for getting the REAL Target 🎯 and not the rebranded Zellers we got.

Canada vows to strengthen border and immigration restrictions to appease Trump
The Canadian government on Tuesday announced a new plan to strengthen border security and the immigration system. Such a plan comes in response to US President-elect Donald Trump’s threat to impose 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian imports unless Canada stops the flow of illegal immigration and fentanyl smuggling into the US.
As part of a new C$1.3 billion (US$908 million) plan to address US President-elect Donald Trump’s concerns about migrants and fentanyl coming across the northern border, Canada is deploying what it calls an “aerial reconnaissance task force.”
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police will operate the task force, which consists of helicopters, drones and mobile observation towers. It’s one of many measures unveiled by the Canadian government on Tuesday in an attempt to stave off Trump’s threat to impose 25 per cent tariffs on all goods from the country unless it strengthens border security.
The announcement came a day after the country’s Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland abruptly resigned, accusing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of failing to seriously prepare for a Trump presidency. She was replaced by Dominic LeBlanc, the minister of public safety, who unveiled a border management plan on Tuesday.
The funding was first announced in the government’s budget update on Monday. Trudeau has promised to strengthen measures at the border after Trump threatened Mexico and Canada with tariffs if they don’t – though problems at the northern crossing pale in comparison to those at the southern crossing.
The plan would also expand the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the RCMP and the Communications Security Establishment’s cybersecurity agency. The Government plans to increase fines and criminal penalties for money-laundering and to establish a task force on the issue involving law enforcement and the financial sector.
In addition, the government intends to increase information sharing between Canadian and US officials, as well as between the federal government and the provinces. The Trudeau government said it will propose that the US create a new “North American Joint Strike Force” to combat transnational organised crime.
RCMP Commissioner Mike Duhem explained that the “strike team” would work with the US to train officers and law enforcement partners who specialise in fentanyl. They will work both domestically and in source countries of the deadly drug to disrupt its illegal trade, he said.
Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced changes to end a practice known as “flagging,” where a temporary resident leaves Canada and immediately returns to the point of entry to receive immigration services. He also said the government plans to expand its ability to cancel, amend or suspend immigration documents and stop accepting new applications.
In addition, the government will use artificial intelligence and visualisation tools and train new canine teams to help detect illegal drugs before they enter Canada. In addition, the government plans to create a new unit within the country’s health department to crack down on the importation of precursor chemicals, and will speed up the process of banning these materials to six months from three years.

National Spicy Guacamole Day
Grab a chip and prepare for some heat: National Spicy Guacamole Day is on November 14. No longer solely the choice of Super Bowls and burritos, spicy guac has been making big moves through the culinary scene! From party dips to burgers and everything in-between, there’s always a reason for spicy guac. So pick some avocados and get mashing!
History of National Spicy Guacamole Day
On National Guacamole Day, sure, we celebrate the great green goo that is good guac. But on National Spicy Guacamole Day, we’re here specifically for the extra kick that goes with adding chile peppers to that same green stuff. Because if you’ve ever tried chugging water after accidentally biting into a serrano or a jalapeño, you know there’s no rush that comes nearly as close to that feeling that your tongue is going to burn off.
Various global civilizations have been upping the ante in regards to the kick that comes from spicy peppers for centuries. Chile peppers are native to the Middle Americas and Mexico, all the way to the middle of South America and have been a staple in Aztec, Mayan, and Andean cuisine for centuries before the Europeans came and shipped those peppers worldwide. Likewise, in Asia, the Sichuan pepper, which actually creates a numbing sensation rather than a spicy one, has been an integral part of Sichuan cooking for even longer.
By contrast, guacamole, as we know it today, could not have even been possible until at least the 1490s after Columbus made his second journey to the Americas, dropping off Asian spices such as cumin and the Persian lime in the land of avocados. In fact, the dish actually developed out of an Aztec staple that translates to avocado sauce. It was pretty much just mashed avocados and salt. Over time, the dish spread throughout the Americas, and even to Europe, and variations on avocado sauces with add-ins (some of them spicy) eventually led to the classic guac as we know it today.
National Spicy Guacamole Day falls during prime football season, where the stuff is consumed by the pounds on tortilla-chip vessels as a critical game-time snack.
National Spicy Guacamole Day timeline
750 B.C.
Avocado Trees Appear in the Americas
Archaeologists have traced the avocado plant to 750 B.C. in what would later become Mexico and South America, laying the foundations for the dish.
16th century
Guacamole is First Recorded
Spicy guacamole is first recorded as “āhuacamolli” upon the Spanish arrival to the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan.
1993
Chipotle Opens
The popular chain (and its legendary guac) opens a small restaurant in Denver, CO, to complement the area’s growing burrito fascination.
1994
NAFTA
The U.S., Canada, and Mexico enter into the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994, prompting the U.S. to quickly lift restrictions on avocado imports.
National Spicy Guacamole Day FAQs
Where are the best peppers to use to make spicy guacamole?
Jalapeño is the most popular, and most accessible, pepper option. Serrano peppers are a little bit smaller and pack an even mightier punch for those that like to walk on the wild side. Regardless, don’t touch your eyes when you’re cutting!
Why does spicy guac cost extra?
There’s no doubt that guac and spicy guac cost a bit more than, say, salsa or queso at your favorite cantina. Although, occasionally, an avocado shortage is to blame, this is typically because of the amount of water needed to grow avocados, along with transportation costs and the labor involved in creating guac, from start to finish.
What’s the difference between National Guacamole Day and National Spicy Guacamole Day?
National Spicy Guac Day celebrates the classic kick that jalapeños, serranos, or another spicy pepper adds to the popular dip, wherease National Guacomole Day celebrates the dip in in all its glorious forms.
HOW TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL SPICY GUACAMOLE DAY
Make your own spicy guacamole: Sure, it’s easier to grab guac from your neighborhood Chipotle, but rather than doing that, grab a couple of avocados, some spicy peppers, and try out the old mortar and pestle. For added effect, throw on some salsa music and have a solo dance party to celebrate your delicious dip.
Throw a spicy guacamole guac-off: Grab your friends, a few pounds of avocados and serranos, and hit the kitchen! Making guacamole is fine and dandy, and sharing it is even better. But a friendly competition to see who really has the lowdown on the best kickin’ guac recipe? That takes the mole!
Host a spicy guac in the face: Put your throwing arm to the test with this spin on the classic pie in the face. Instead of sugar and whipped cream, indulge in a faceful of spicy, salty, zesty guac! What better way to sample dips from the guac-off than by seeing who can take a fistful of the green stuff in the face.
WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL SPICY GUACAMOLE DAY
Avocados are grown all over the world: If you’re familiar with the ‘Avocados from Mexico’ jingle, you know Mexico is one of the fruit’s most viable producers. However, avocados can also be found growing in California, Peru, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Spicy guacamole can be healthy: If you’re unsure of guacamole because of the high concentrations of fat in avocados, fear not. Avocados are an excellent source of monounsaturated fat (the good kind!) and they’re also rich in vitamins C, E, and K. Bonus, the peppers that make spicy guac, well, spicy, are rich in vitamins A and C, as well as potassium and antioxidants. Dip up!
Spicy guac goes well with anything: You don’t need a tortilla chip to enjoy spicy guacamole. Grab some carrots, cucumber, or even a whole crudité platter to dip in the stuff, or, better yet, throw it on a burger for a zesty, south-of-the-border spin.

Understanding Cross Border Personal Injury Claims
In today's interconnected world, road traffic accidents frequently involve parties from different countries. When such incidents occur, the complexities of cross border injury claims come into play. These claims require specialized legal expertise due to the diverse legal systems, insurance regulations, and procedural differences across countries.
The Role of Cross Border Injury Attorneys

Insurance Complications: Different countries have varying insurance policies and coverage limits. Cross border injury attorneys can help you understand and negotiate with foreign insurance companies, ensuring that you receive the maximum compensation available.
Jurisdictional Challenges: Determining which country's court has jurisdiction over a cross border injury claim can be complicated. Experienced lawyers can help establish jurisdiction and ensure that your case is heard in the appropriate legal setting.
Steps in Filing a Cross Border Road Traffic Accident Claim
Immediate Actions Post-Accident: Seek medical attention immediately, document the accident scene, and collect contact information from witnesses. Notify local authorities and obtain a police report.
Consult a cross border road accidents claim in canada: As soon as possible, consult with a lawyer who specializes in cross border injury claims. They can provide initial guidance and begin the process of gathering evidence and building your case.
Investigation and Evidence Collection: Your attorney will conduct a thorough investigation, collecting evidence such as medical records, accident reports, and witness statements.
Negotiation and Settlement: Many cross border injury claims are settled out of court. Your lawyer will negotiate with the at-fault party's insurance company to reach a fair settlement.
