Dude same. Its the wet weather, the trees, the greenery. The lake near the Black's, the sunlight one week out of the year, its Bellla's red truck. The plot was meh but I keep going back for the sheer ambience of that town.

🦇 the origins of the vampire 🧛

A/N: just wanted to be clear about the fact that im no historian or an expert. Some of this stuff can be outdated or wrong, im just a highschooler, who finds vampires fadcinating and i wanted to share stuff i already knew and stuff that i found out with you (the resources from which i drew the facts from, are in th end of the text, also im so sorry for any grammar mistakes ennglish is not my native language hope you enjoy!)

We are all familliar with a number of mythological creatures, werewolves, banshees, dragons, chimeras. We are all aware of the mythology behind the stories that we watched and read at a younger age or even watched in popular movies and tv shows of ; "The Vampire Diaries", "Twillight", "Van Helsing", and many more. The interpretation of these films and series had a huge impact on society but were they correct? Are they accurate to what "real vampires" were seen,as? Are vampires real?

To get a better and most spherical view of these specific mythological creatures we have to take a deep dive into their origins and how they occured. So what is a vampire? We cant possibly be 100% sure of what vampires are, because they have been interpreted in many different ways , some more realistic and other a little less, but the most essential characteristic for someone to actually be called a vampire is human bloood consumption. Although human blood consumption is a real medical term also known as Reinfields Syndrome (or even clinical vampirism) the syndrome stops at that, whereas vampires are known for other characteristics beyond their need to consume human blood, and although that differentiates from case to case every single characteristic hads been heard of by our culture at least once ot twice. Such charcteristics are; sensititvity to sunlight (in many cases sunlight means death), their ability to morph into a bat or, in more rare cases, a wolf. They have super strength and the ability to weaken the mind and control it, they also arent able to see themselves in the mirror or cast a shadow whatsoever.

The first person to have been accused of being a vampire in historical records was a villager named Jure Grando Alilović, (1578-1656), who was reffered to as a štrigon which was a local word of someone who was a vampire and a warlock. More specifically he died at 1656 due to an illness but came back from the grave one night as a vampire and terrorized the village, until his decapitation in 1672.

In media, the vampires were first introduced to the public by Bram Stokers, insect eating character, Count Dracula. According to Stoker, Dracula, wasnt supposed to be a face of fiction, it was supossed to serve to role of a warning; a warning of a very rare evil entity.

The history of vampires isnt really close to what media portrayes them to be, the characteristics arent as overdramatic as they are often portrayed as in media. Media always seems to exaggerate when it comes to giving the public a portrayal of something as symbolic as vampires (or anything of the supernatural beings in general) , and despite the fact that we dont usually pay attention to what the movies show us, it is no secret that the way media portrayes them to be, vampires are just thought to be a creature of fiction.

But according to countless websites, books, historical findings and resources, Count Dracula (as we know him), wasnt an original figure. Other than Alilović, there have been many sightings of vampires all throughout history, whether that be fake or actually true. The most popular one, and the one said to be the inspiration behind Count Dracula, is Vlad the Impaler or else Vlad the third, he was the prince (or millitary governor, according to the translation on the word "voivode") of Walachia. His cruel punishing methods made him well-known thoroughout the 15th century, in Europe.

But cruel punishments accured all throughout history, even in later years, so why was he any different? Well when 1448, he found out about the assasination of his elder brother and father, he began to embark on campaigns to regain his fathers seat and after eight years he was able to do so. He was known to leave his foreing and domestic enemies to bleed to death, in 1462 he left a fielf with thousand sof stabbed and wounded people to discourage the Ottoman forces. Later on, he was captured by the Ottoman forces, but was able to escape only to be imprisoned by Matthias the first of Hungary after coming to ask for his assistance. Vlad regained his throne in 1476, but was killed in battle the same year.

Theres only the thought that Stoker used the name Dracula, in inspiation of Vlad, but only the title not the actions that Vlad was guilty of.n. A certain amount of scholars have observed that Stoker’s conversations with the historian, Hermann Bamburger, could have provided him with information of Vlads violent bahaviour, but there is no upright evidence to support this.

1987 Bates Motel - this was supposed to be a sequel to Psycho 🤨

1987 Teen Wold too - words cannot describe how much I hate this movie and everything about it

1987 Matlock - he's playing "Jason Bateman, the star of Valerie" only 1 year after they fired Valerie from Valerie hmm...

1987 Moving target - this was fine

1988 Our House - if your kids think giving 10k to a teenager will get them a record label at 13 it's on them, he did nothing wrong

1988 Crossing the mob - you can watch this but god at what cost, it's so grainy you can barely see their faces (okay movie tho)

1989 Breaking the rules - commissioned to show that he can do some "serious" acting, a tragic mistake on everyone's part

1991 Necessary roughness - Scott Bakula simps, I understand, no I seriously get it

1992 A Taste for killing - for every good movie (prev) you get 2 bad ones

I'M BACK. Life swept me away but I'm slowly listening to the eps I'm missing. Just finished the BorRap ep and I have some thoughts. First of all, I think that movie is terrible. It's bad. I saw it in theatre with my friends and I walked away thinking, eh-whatever. But I have to give the movie some merits because it did pull me in starting from the second act and I was very hyped when the First Aid scene came on. However, it's definitely super mid, verging toward terrible. So, secondly, imagine my fucking surprise when it was nominated for Best Picture. I was like, haha this is a prank, only to check the official website and see it there. HOLY shit, my jaw hit the floor. Did the US run out of movies that year for Best Picture???? Like, was there really no other movies that can take BorRaph's spot????? I had a moment just staring at the screen of my laptop and felt like I was in the Twillight Zone. (I can see Rami being nominated for Best Lead Actor tho, he was really good so I understand the nomination)

Thirdly, I caught wind of the BorRap fandom. I was taking a break from tumblr then, but it was kinda growing on twitter, that even tho I was in a very very different fandom space, I heard about it. Now hearing what I'm hearing from the podcast, quite eye-opening lmao. Like, when you discussed the fanfics... I was screaming in my head hahahahaha

Fourth, I have seen the 911 BoB/TP fic... and just not gonna click on it. Life's too short and all that.

it's especially egregious given the fact that that year was so stacked with movies that were Literally eons better than Bohemian Rhapsody. i was Literally just yelling about how that was supposed to be the year of BlacKkKlansman and instead it got double teamed by both Greenbook and BoRhap and it's truly the most disappointing shit in the world. like we can make the case rami Was the best performance in the category at the oscars but idek if I believe that anymore, given the fact that Vice was a movie i detested and Bale was still acting circles around Rami like staring wide-eyed at shit for two hours straight. not to Mention Bradley Cooper, who campaigned way too hard for Best Director when had he focused harder on trying to get Best Actor he would have been a shoo-in, and A Star is Born is Regrettably a movie that gets better every year in a way that BoRhap decidedly does not.

the globes are a joke at the best of times so the wins that night were pretty alright, but that Best Picture win and then subsequent oscar nom are just.....that chaps my ass my dudes. whole ass movie could have been written on a cocktail napkin like Showgirls (which is actually Way more fun to watch than BoRhap) 😘💃
