I'm just going to say it, I like selfish Bella. She spent her whole life taking care of her mom. Bella lost her childhood because Renee was too irresponsible to grow up enough to take care of either of them. So Bella had to do it. Bella made sure that the bills got paid. She did the cooking and cleaning. She made sure there was gas in the car and food in the fridge.

Bella also uprooted her own life so that Renee could be happy. She sent herself away to town she hated and a father she barely knew so that her mom would be happy. And Bella's biggest concern? That Renee wouldn't be able to fend for herself.

So she behaves selfishly at some points. She been selfless for most of her life. You gonna bash her for what? Acting like any other teenager for the first time in her life? Speaking up about what she wants? Putting her own wants and desires first finally?

No matter what Bella did, someone was going to get hurt. She might as well do what's going to make her happy. It's about fucking time she did.

me waiting patiently for people to finally realize that bella never actually loved edward. she was his prey the entire time! yes, bella was unhealthily infatuated with edward. but no!! no, bella was not unconditionally, irrevocably in love with him. she only thought she was because that is how vampires lure in their FOOD. edward even admits it himself; most (if not all) of his characteristics exist/are heightened to draw humans in.

and honestly? in the dark hours of the night, which bella now spends awake with him, I know it haunts edward. is it true love or did the sickly combination of meeting a vampire and bella hating her life make her want to turn? he'll never know because he can't read her mind.

plus, bella barely got attention, not even from her mother. of course someone thirsting over her would make that natural obsession worse. she was seeking attention she had never experienced before and it only made her more attached when she received it. from a literal supernatural being at that!

EVERYTHING we love about bella is stripped away by Edward and vampirism. Her clumsiness, her blush, her brown eyes. The way she loves the sun and Arizona. She loved to cook and now she will never eat again. She hated the cold and now she is cold stone. Edward discards her truck and replaces it with a brand new Mercedes’ she didn’t even like. Which always felt like symbolism to me. Some may see it as an upgrade, as a nice gift… but Bella never wanted it. Think of how EXCITED she was to get that truck and how uncomfortable she was then with the Mercedes. If Bella wanted an upgrade, SHE SHOULDVE PICKED THE CAR. But no.. Edward literally just DISCARDED IT. Bella never liked flashy things or parties but now she’s subjected to that forever.

I think it’s fucking insane that people will say theyre Team Edward cause they’re not “anti-choice.” What did y’all read bc….. what. Just because Bella chooses to be a vampire? To die? She was OBSESSED with the easy way out. She was obsessed with Edward cause they were trauma bonded and she had such horrific self esteem. Just cause Bella chose to be a vampire doesn’t make it a good thing. It is a tragedy and always will be to me. Unless you never gave a fuck about her as a human I suppose. 😗✌️ Bella is an unreliable narrator and was under vampire thrall. Bella was severely traumatized by Edward and felt worthless as a human. Bella had a chance to grow with Jacob and she WOULD HAVE. But she would have PTSD that she could work through. You may be like “she would’ve never gotten over edward.” Yeah she would’ve and she would’ve realized that him haunting her was all Stockholm syndrome.

I’m not “anti choice” for acknowledging Bella’s choice was the wrong one. ExB’s relationship ruined lives, killed people, put the wolfpack through literal HELL and eventually enslaved the wolfpack to them. All for “love” LMAO! It wasn’t love, it was obsession, bloodlust, trauma bonding, low self worth, co dependency.

Leave Bella's plain cooking alone. She was just 6 years old when she took over the cooking. She probably had to teach herself. Maybe Renée added seasoning to her food, but that doesn't mean it was good or edible. There's plenty of bad combinations of spices. Renee's bad cooking could also mean that she burned a lot of dishes or left food undercooked.

"Oh what about when Bella was older? Couldn't she have learned how to season food properly?"

When Bella was older she was doing all the housework, doing the grocery shopping, and balancing the budget. She was making sure that the bills got paid, that there was gas in the car, that Renée wasn't spending too much on whatever frivolous hobby she had that week. Bella was reminding Renée to do things like pick up the dry cleaning or perhaps that there was a school open house. Bella was probably the one grading the homework Renée brought home from work, because Renée's scattered brain self frequently forgot. On top of all the adult responsibility, Bella was also a child/teen keeping up her grades at school. She had so much responsibility that developing cooking skills was not a priority. So Bella just stuck to the dishes that were simple to make and that she knew would be edible. Even if they are plain.
