Hi,
I recently graduated with a BA in archaeology and am thinking of continuing my studies in either museums or archives. I believe you either are Canadian or have worked in Canadian museums (sorry if I'm wrong) and I had a question about college vs university programs when it comes to museum studies. If you can't answer, no worries.
When it comes to employment, what difference does it make between having a college diploma or a master's in museum studies? Are there some jobs you can only get with a master's? Or are opportunities the same? Would both programs teach similar skills? I know the job market in museums and archives is rough and if a master's will get me further that's probably what I'll go with. I also know there's several diploma/certificate programs offered by universities and am unsure of where those would rank in comparison to a college diploma or master's degree.
Another issue is the main masters programs I know of are in BC and Toronto, places that are incredibly expensive to live rn, so if a college program will get me just as far, some of those schools are in cities with lower cost of living.
Thanks!
first of all; you're right I am Canadian and a graduate of a Canadian undergrad program. but my MA is from the UK.
secondly, for non-Canadians; college in Canada has a few meanings. One is very similar to the US - a particular grouping of students in a university. But the more common one is a bit harder to explain. It used to be that 'working' careers were from colleges [i.e. nursing vs. doctor; lumber jack vs. forester, etc] but these days the lines are more blurred. Colleges are seen by some academic fields as 'lesser' than universities but they actually just fill a different need.
thirdly; it depends on the job. For my job [Executive Director] you do not necessarily need a museum/gallery background but imo... you do need that. If your interest is in collections care, a college diploma in specifically collections care is very good - often better than a generalized masters because it shows dedication in that one area. If you are more interested in exhibition same thing - colleges are more likely to have hands-on mounting classes which will make you an asset.
If you want to work front of house - tours, guest interaction, education - university degrees will be seen as better because you are more likely to be academically inclined and things like that. You won't be unable to get a job like that with college, but given our sector, it will be very very hard.
I believe, but you would have to check, that UofT's ISchool has an online or distance Masters for museums you might want to check out. You could also go abroad like I did. University of Leicester [my alma mater] has a very good distance course though the fees for international students might make in-person just as hard. They're entry requirements for Canadians at a 4 point school is a cGPA of 3. Nice and attainable.
Its also worth noting that you do not need to have museum-focused degrees so long as you have work experience. Lets say your UG arch was focused on Coast Salish archaeology, a side focus on public history and volunteer or intern work experience in museums will make you more attractive to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC than my CV which has no native focus at all.
There's a lot of historic workers on Tumblr, I'll tag a few and hope a few others chime in to give you advice.

UWM Archives Intern Spotlight
Meet archives intern Jamee Pritchard, a first-year Ph.D. student in the department of African and African Diaspora Studies.
What is your educational background, area of study, and research interests?
I have master’s degrees in public history and library and information science and a graduate certificate in women’s and gender studies. Very broadly, my area of study is Black women’s history. Within that field, I explore Black feminisms and expressive cultures that focus primarily on print media from the 20th and early 21st century. A lot of my research is about Black women as cultural producers and cultural readers. I seek to understand how writers (re)construct representations of Black womanhood and girlhood within popular print culture. Further, I examine how Black readers engage with this writing in relation to their cultural, collective, and individual identity construction and expression.
Tell us about your thesis and/or field work.
My master’s thesis was a critical history of Black Romance novels from 1980 to 2010. I explored the traditional romance publishing market and the obstacles that Black romance writers faced in a predominantly white literary space that had already established a dominant structure to the romance novel. I analyzed how Black romance writers disrupted that model in their exploration of Black life, and how Black romance readers engaged with these novels. As I’ve just started my Ph.D. program, my doctoral research is a work in progress. I’m developing a project this semester that looks at Black girlhood in young adult popular fiction. I’d love to focus on the impact of YA speculative fiction on representations of Black diasporic girlhoods and really get into the audience reception of these novels through some qualitative research.
What draws you to the archives, special collections, and libraries profession?
The gaps, silences, and erasures of Black women (and other women of color) in the archive, particularly archives within predominantly white institutions, draw me to the profession. What does it mean that our women’s and feminist history collections primarily focus on one historical perspective? What does it mean that many classic Black feminist texts are part of the circulating collection rather than curated within archives or special collections? What does it mean when archival and library staffs lack racial and cultural diversity? In answering these questions, I am interpreting those gaps, silences, and erasures within the archive and, more broadly, the field of libraries, archives, special collections, and museums. My scholarship, through exhibit curation, Tumblr posts, finding aids, academic papers, etc., interprets the value that traditional cultural institutions attribute to the collection and preservation of marginalized histories, and hopefully, it disrupts the existing power structures within these institutions. My professional goals are very selfish, as I simply want to see myself existing in history, and that starts in the archives.
What is your favorite collection within the archive or the most interesting record you’ve come across?
I don’t have a favorite collection in our archive, but I have favorite records. The first is a program from the 1981 Miss Black America of Milwaukee pageant. Vel Phillips was a judge, and the program is found in her collection (Milwaukee Mss 231). The second item is found in UWM Special Collections. It’s a literary journal published in 1979 called Conditions: Five, the black women’s issue. Co-edited by Barbara Smith and Lorraine Bethel, it is the first widely distributed collection of Black feminist writings in the United States. I love the piece called “On Roses and Thorns” by Janet Singleton.
What are you working on now?
I’m processing a small collection for the Black Nurses Association and will move on to processing a collection for the Filipino Nurses Association after that. I’m also working on some outreach through Tumblr posts.
What’s something surprising you’ve learned about the profession (or yourself as an archivist) since you’ve started working at UWM Archives?
Coming into the archives I thought I’d really enjoy the reference aspect of it, which I do, as some reference requests take me on an amazing historical journey, but I’ve learned that I love educational outreach and engagement even more. I really enjoy researching our collections and creating materials and media that make them accessible to students, faculty, staff, and community members.

WTNV Quick rundown - 43 - Visitor
This episode features the guest voice of Kevin R Free as Kevin of Desert Bluffs. I've tried putting in spaces between bulletpoints, but it seems like Tumblr squashes it together when posted. Sorry~
Listen to your heart. You can hear it deep under the earth, creaking and heaving, with roots snapping and birds flapping quickly away. Welcome to Night Vale.
Cecil's visitor is a Strexpet. A biomachine created by StrexCorp.
Cecil describes it's appearance as having a 'bulbous square of a body', thick bellied with large 'duck' eyes, puffy tan fur like a bear cubs and small nubs for legs. It may have multiple smaller eyes or black marks on it's face, Cecil isn't sure which it is.
Cecil describes it's behaviours as not moving very much, shy or possibly scared and staring with it's big pleading eyes, possibly following Cecil with it's eyes.
It does eventually seem to 'trust' him, waddling over to where he is and humming/buzzing when pet. It then hugs onto his leg, making it impossible for Cecil to move though at this time Cecil still finds the behaviour adorable.
It then 'bites' him, hard enough to draw blood, so Cecil goes to the sponsor so he can go wash himself off.
Kevin delivers the sponsored message by Strexcorp. Full of hopeful messages and believing in a Smiling God (you must). The Smiling God apparently has a smile so large and wide that we can see our perfect selves in it's mirrored teeth. In the reflection of it's thick, pink and grey, wet bulging tongue we can see the reflection of our imperfect selves (hideous and bleeding, bleeding so much). Kevin says we can kill our imperfect selves and Strex will help us. He also refers to a 'Greater Desert Bluffs and Night Vale community' which is foreshadowing of Strex's intentions being a bit more than just running the radio station.
When he tries to block it out of the bathroom, it is somehow able to break down the door to follow him. Whilst yelling for Intern Jeremy to call animal control and hiding from the Strexpet which he can no longer see, the Strexpet attacks Khoshekh (whom Cecil still adores and calls his baby boy and his buddy).
The Strexpet is somehow able to tear Khoshekh from his fixed point and bites into his side. Cecil reacts by attacking and kicking the Strexpet repeatedly before having Intern Jeremy helps to pin it down. Animal control tries to sedate it, but reveal it is actually a machine and just needs it's switch flipped to shut it off.
Cecil is very sad he didn't get to smash it with a hammer.
Lauren is disappointed that Cecil did not like the 'birthday present' she and Daniel got for him (it is not his birthday).
Weather: "Cover Me Up" by Jason Isbell, jasonisbell.com
Khoshekh is taking in for surgery and they say that although there will be less of him mentally and physically, he will live just fine. Cecil rushes off at the end of the broadcast to visit him, assured that he will soon be in his normal fixed place again.
There is controversy going on with the mayoral race. The FOW has no records of her origins or a birth certificate so can't prove she's an American citizen.
Hiram (acquitted of tax fraud) is being accused of both truck theft and possibly the murder of a man called Frank Chen. Frank was found dead with claw and scorch marks covering his body around two years ago and the coroner ruled he had died from 'dragon, at least three heads'. Hiram denies this saying he and Frank are friends and that he's fine and was probably just goofing off with the injuries.
Cecil says that although the citizens of NV vote, the actual result will be determined by interpreting the loud pulses coming out of Hidden Gorge.
Wednesday night, the NV Community theatre is holding auditions for the musical 'Into the Woods'. Interested thespians are told to bring night vision goggles, glass cutters, a breathable ski mask and quiet shoes to the First Night Vale Bank.
The museum of forbidden technologies is holding a new exhibit on Thought Crimes. Interest in attending is considered grounds for arrest. You can't be arrested for buying tickets from the website if you're in your own home, but the SSP can use tear gas to flush you out and arrest you.
There is a new restaurant opening, Tourniquet. The executive chef is LeShawn Mason, who was previously a sous chef for Night Vale's top rated fine dining establishment, Shame. LeShawn's idea of traditional French cooking brought into the modern day is a mix of molecular gastronomy and human remains. Tourniquet offers a prix fixe menu for $35 featuring choice of appetizer, entree, dessert, and sudden awareness of a hideous, suppressed memory.
Carlos and his team of scientists finally get bold enough to try the door to the House Which Doesn't Exist out in the Desert Creek housing development. They want to see if they can make contact with John Peters (you know, the farmer)? who is still standing inside staring at the picture of a lighthouse. A woman named Cynthia answers and through her door they see a completely different room, but those at the window still see John Peters. She claims to have lived there for 19 years despite the fact that the housing development is only 3 years old.
Proverb: You won't sleep when you're dead either.
I'm sure there is vengeance to be found. I'm sure I will find it. I'm sure I just have to find the right recipient. Stay tuned next for the sound of your own thoughts, broadcast live on the radio for all to hear. And as always, good night, Night Vale. Good night.

Justice for Matthew Rushin - Black Autistic Lives Matter! #BLM #Justice4MatthewRushin
Hello there I have not seen any mention of what happened to Matthew Rushin on Tumblr yet so, I’m making this post hoping it gains traction. PLEASE signal boost, take your time to read and donate if you can or share, because this is a MASSIVE injustice and it needs to be spread around more. I don’t have many (active) followers so I don’t know how far this will go, but I’m hoping more people see this so please if you do see this, share and follow their social medias we need justice for Matthew ASAP. He is experiencing vision loss and other symptoms related to a cyst in his brain that required medical care when he was and still is in his cell. I am going to keep my words brief, to give more voice to the family as they speak and explain best about what has been going on. There is an email template in this post that you can use to send to Virginia representatives (also listed), a GoFundMe link. This is all taken from the family’s Facebook post and photos.
Also please feel free to add more hashtags, I added what I came up with.
I’m not only fighting for my son Matthew Rushin but for all those who have been wrongfully convicted. Laws must change to protect those with disabilities and our legislators must be held accountable to make these changes. We have to protect those with disabilities and not let the police (Virginia Beach Detective Jessica Hosang)/prosecutors (Colin Stolle, & Michael DeFricke)take advantage of them! They have stolen the music from my life!

MEET MY SON MATTHEW RUSHIN: Matthew is a black, autistic twenty-two year old male who was & is still a model citizen even in prison. He beat all kinds of odds against him: black, autistic, ADHD, anxiety, a traumatic brain injury(TBI) in 2017 that left him comatose for several days, & which required rehabilitation in order for him to re-learn life functions, including walking & talking. A pituitary cyst was discovered during evaluation & treatment for the TBI. The single car accident which resulted in the TBI has left him with PTSD. Despite all of these challenges, Matthew graduated with honors from high school, was employed & was an engineering student at ODU. He participated in numerous volunteer activities. He is a gifted pianist, plays the viola beautifully, & he composes music and writes poems. Matthew was sentenced to 50 years (to serve 10) for a nonfatal, unintentional car accident involving no drugs or alcohol. If you are thinking there must be more to the story, there is. One of Matthew’s autistic processes is called Echolalia, which causes him to repeat words that he hears. After the car accident, Matthew stepped out of his car & was met by an angry driver who cursed at him and repeatedly yelled at him “are you f***ing trying to kill yourself?” In his distressed state, Matthew repeated these man’s words about suicide: words that were used to turn a car accident into a crime. Matthew was charged with 2nd degree murder with a claim that the accident was an intentional attempt to kill himself by deliberately driving head-on into another car. Officers did not exhibit any understanding of autism in their interpretations of Matthew’s comments and actions. Instead, they took advantage of his vulnerability as they handcuffed him, questioned him for nearly 4 hours at the scene, lied to him about evidence, isolated him from his family. A forensic engineer and traffic collision reconstructionist with 33 years’ experience has written a report detailing the ways the Commonwealth’s suicide determination as a cause for the accident is NOT a plausible explanation. Facing the terrifying prospect of a jury trial, Matthew was pressured to plead guilty to crimes he didn’t commit, led to believe it would allow him to go home. He was never properly treated or evaluated, and his health and disability were never properly considered. Today, Matthew sits in prison without an understanding of why he is there. Matthew and his family have immense compassion for the individuals wounded in the January 2019 car crash, especially the man with the most severe and sustaining injuries. Their thoughts are with these individuals daily. But Matthew is not a danger to society. He is highly vulnerable in the brutal prison environment as a man with a disability. And he faces the possibility of permanent blindness or even death due to an untreated brain cyst. Help Matthew's family bring him home. Ask Governor Northam to grant Matthew an Absolute Pardon and do whatever it takes to free him today!
************************* SAMPLE EMAIL************************** I am writing to you because I feel passionately that Matthew Rushin, a gentle young man with neurological processing differences that accompany autism spectrum disorder, should NOT be behind bars. Please review his case. A nonfatal car accident that involved NO drugs or alcohol, a young man with autism who has never before been in trouble with the law. This is someone who should NOT have been sentenced to 50 years and now spending a decade of his life in jail with violent offenders all because of a driving mistake. Furthermore, it is highly likely that the accident even occurred because of his losing consciousness due to a seizure. A forensic engineer and traffic collision reconstructionist with 33 years experience has written a report detailing the ways the commonwealth’s suicide determination as a cause for the accident is NOT a plausible explanation: https://neuroclastic.com/.../2020/06/rushin-engineer.pdf... This is also what Matthew repeatedly told officers during his interrogation, when he should have been receiving medical care. At the scene of the accident, Matthew repeated words that were screamed at him. Echolalia is a method many with autism use for processing situations. This involves them repeating what someone has said to them. Matthew did this, and he was convicted because of it, rather than for the actual facts of the case that illustrated it was indeed an unintentional car accident. Please review his case. He needs medical attention for the cyst on his brain. He is experiencing headaches and transient blindness, and his medical care for this is long overdue. Please do not let him die in jail. This young man has been criminalized and had his life destroyed. He has a history of being a model citizen prior to this accident - honors in high school, an engineering college student, a volunteer. He needs medical care for the cyst on his brain and is experiencing transient blindness and short term memory loss, further exacerbated by his recent assault in jail by another inmate. Please do what you can to help. Prison offers the VA community nothing in terms of betterment by keeping him locked up and potentially killing him because of lack of medical care and his vulnerability as a young man with disabilities in a brutal environment. Help his family bring him home. The injuries incurred to the victims involved, particularly the man with the most severe and sustaining injuries, are horrible. But the punishment is above and beyond inhumane and unproductive for Matthew Rushin to be sentenced to 50 years and serving 10 for a nonfatal car accident involving no drugs or alcohol.
******************************************************************************************* These are critical points: 1. Matthew was not taken for medical (and mental health evaluation) the evening of the crash. He has lost consciousness, had a prior serious brain injury, was banged up around the face and bleeding, was not making sense - yet, instead of taking him for evaluation and care, the police handcuffed and interrogated him for nearly 4 hours at the scene, then more at the police station (with lies and manipulation). He still has not had the physical evaluation he should have had that day - despite the fact that he has a cyst on his pituitary gland that was due evaluation the month he was jailed (19 months ago), AND he is having severe headaches, dizziness and temporary blindness. 2. Virginia Beach Police Department has a CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) program that is supposed to divert people with mental illness or in mental health crises to treatment rather than the criminal system. Not only did they not activate that team despite his history of PTSD, anxiety and his symptoms at the scene AND the fact that they were going to charge him with attempted 2nd degree murder on the basis of a suicide attempt (unfounded!), the woman how did much of the interrogation - which included lies about the evidence they had, and pretending that she was his friend - is a trainer for their CIT program. Further, suicidology must be determined by psychologist or psychiatrist. It was not - and wouldn't have been. They were able to maintain that charge, because after 7 months of jail, when Matthew was told that if he signed the plea deal, he could go home - that was his understanding - he signed it. From that point forward, the prosecutor, judge and press referred to the "fact" that he admitted he deliberately ran into the other car because he was trying to kill himself. Officer Hosang only has 12 hours of Autism training, it takes psychologists years undergraduate education, graduate education and a whole lot of certification to even be able to practice. Officer Hosang told Matthew as heard in the interrogation, she hopes to arrest and charge him. What CIT does that? Is that descalating the issue? Um.. no way! 3. Mental health services have not been provided. Medication for anxiety was provided after months, but not counseling/treatment. Matthew has not had the required neurology follow up for his conditions identified prior to his incarceration. 4. Matthew and his family have not been able to talk face to face for 19 months, let alone hug. This 20 year old autistic man who had just been in a very serious car accident and who was clearly physically impacted was not allowed the comfort of his family. His dad was at the scene for hours waiting to be allowed to see his son. He wasn't even told when they took Matthew away from the scene. Mr. Rushin found out 45 minutes later. 5. Matthew was ripped from his life on the basis of an unsubstantiated claim, denied his rights, taken advantage of and taken straight to prison for a charge that never should have been made. Yet when there is overwhelming evidence of all of the wrongdoing, he remains in prison. That is totally unbalanced. He was judged guilty on sight. But it is taking months to free him. This is so wrong. ________________________________________________________________________________ (1) GOVERNOR RALPH NORTHAM EMAIL: [email protected] CALL: (804) 786-2211 (2) COUNSEL TO GOVERNOR NORTHAM Legal Counsel Rita Davis [email protected] (3) Kelly Thomasson: Secretary of the Commonwealth EMAIL: [email protected] CALL: (804) 786-2441 Fax: 804-786-7441 (4) Tonya D. Women like me
(Penned 10th February 2018) When I first discovered digital art My teenhood drawing mentor said That I drew my women “far too manly” In the same breath, calling me “the girliest dude alive” Neither of us knew how fitting those words would be I’ve always used my vessel of flesh to pose my fictive heroes Some strong, some soft, many a mix and all shades of fierce And almost always, women Long before I realised how much I saw of myself in them How I longed to be seen as one in the real world Years later, the “girliest dude” finally had a girliness to call her own And my “manly women” finally made sense as women like me
I am still trying to navigate the responsibilities and expectations Of painting transness in ways that are genuine Of wanting to depict beauty when more and more of us are reclaiming ugliness, Betrayed by how much being beautiful became so warped and stolen By white noses, jawlines and shoulders; Ungenderable features divided, categorized, violently broken Each day I flip through a Tumblr tide Of characters styled in chiseled comic ink lines and anime air-brushed smiles And the women like me I see among them are either Invisible enough to be contested and imaginary; Or aggressively different enough from their cis costars to seem like caricature And I wonder how my work will stack up against them How much I can challenge and depict truthfully As someone so conventionally binary, thin, and physically able-bodied When my heart lies in fantasy with trans girl warlocks and their cis lesbian witch lovers Am I doing enough by drawing what I know most intimately and passionately, And leaving the rest for those who know and live it best?
The other day I saw in a women of colour group online, A call for artists to submit to an exhibition, “works on the experience of being female” And I could tell, if not by the wording then by the boldly stamped XX letters on the poster That the organisers had probably not thought of women like me I began to think beyond the idea of asking whether I, as an XY would be allowed to exhibit in this poorly worded space of cis-feminism To wonder, rather, what the fuck the female experience is If there’s a checklist or certificate of achievement; a verification of trauma to pass before I won’t be questioned And if any of this would be captured at all in visual art I make As if the fact that my hands making it aren’t enough to stamp it as a woman’s work I am gripped by the fear That if I don’t try hard enough my artworks will be mistaken for Something white, something cis, something male That because I happen to a South-East Asian queer trans woman I have to shove all of these markers of identity into my creative offspring Or otherwise I become nothing
And yet, amongst these fears of being fake or invisible in my drawings The written word feels unbetrayingly raw and truthful There is a reason words can paint the stories of identity and trauma faster than Photoshop colours can blend There is a reason why slow poetry survives in a visual world that devours infinite scrolling social feeds and bite-sized pop news vids Maybe, there is a reason why this artform allows me to be myself in this way best While visual art still connects with a different aspect of me More subdued politically and wreathed in fantasy It’s taking a long time, but maybe, gradually I’ll stop feeling the urge to conform to what others might expect of me And learn to just fucking BE.
#reflections on being a trans artist#own writing#poetry#my poems#like most of my old spoken word pieces this was finalised the hour before i first performed it#so it's unpolished as hell#but i think some of it still works and rings true#i figure i may as well try to archive all the bits of writing i made#while i'm still here

The Delhi High Court (HC) recently has passed a slew of directions associated with the documents needed to be mandatorily filed along with a complaint in Trademark Infringement concerns. The specific order was passed by a Single Judge Bench of Justice Pratibha M Singh following a plea challenging an order of the Trial Court that had taken on record the Legal Proceedings Certificate revolving around the trademark ‘VENUS’ in a trademark infringement lawsuit.
What’s the Matter?
M/S Venus Home Appliances Pvt Ltd, the plaintiff in a trademark infringement lawsuit had filed the Legal Proceeding Certificate at the stage of final arguments and after the evidence was concluded. However, at the initial stage, only the renewal certificate was filed and duly exhibited. Amrish Agarwal, the defendant in the same case, challenged the Court’s order saying that a document could not be taken on record at such a belated stage.
The Court said that in a trademark infringement affair, it needs to be able to view the mark. Therefore, along with the Journal extract, the plaintiff should file either the Legal Proceeding Certificate or the registration certificate to enable the Court to determine whether or not the trademark itself is registered.
It continued by saying that although Trademark Registration is a matter of public record and people can access it by visiting the Trademark Registry’s website, still to make the Court consider the registration, documentary evidence in the form of either the journal extracts or the Legal Proceeding Certificate, is essential to be put on record.
The Court then noted that in the present case no other document except the renewal certificate was filed at the initial stage and the Legal Proceeding Certificate was uncovered at the final stage. It added that the plaintiff didn’t obtain the certified copies of documents being the public record to rely on the same in lawsuit proceedings. The Court, therefore, concluded that the plaintiff ought to file the trademark registration certificate at the initial stage.
Nonetheless, in the interest of ‘substantive justice,’ the Court concluded that the Legal Proceeding Certificate is allowed to be taken on record, subjecting the plaintiff to make a payment of Rs.50,000 to the defendant. The Court then proceeded to grab the opportunity to pass directions regarding the documents that ought to be mandatorily filed along with the complaint in trademark infringement cases.
The directions passed by the Court are as follows:
Legal Proceedings certificate (LPC) showing the trademark, date of application, date of claim, conditions, disclaimers if any, assignments, and licenses granted should be provided along with the trademark infringement plaint.
If LPC isn’t available at the time of filing the lawsuit and urgent orders of the injunction are being sought, then there is a need to provide a copy of the trademark registration certificate, along with a copy of the trademark journal and the latest status report from the Trade Mark Registry’s website. An averment in the pleadings that LPC is applied for should accompany this. Besides making an averment showing that there are no disclaimers imposed on the mark and the mark stands renewed, any licenses and assignments ought to be pleaded.
Usually, at the time of admission/denial, parties ought not to be permitted to deny the factum of registration and other facts accompanying the registration as the same is easily verifiable from public records online.
If the LPC is not available at the time of filing of the suit, the party ought to file the LPC before the commencement of the trial if any aspect of the trademark registration is being disputed by the opposite side.
For compliance of the recently passed order, the Court has directed the Registrar General of the HC to communicate the directions within the order to all the District Judges, especially the judges of commercial courts. Other authorities who should be aware of the same directions include the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks, and the Joint Secretary, DPIIT to ensure that LPCs should be issued without delay and within 30 days from the date of application. some mundane life happenings under the cut bc i only come here to queue things occasionally and reblog things to my secret special inspo tumblrs
i survived my first semester of grad school!!! got an A- and a B+ in my two classes which was kind of disappointing but at least i now know what i have to do to do well
this semester i am taking an easy readings seminar on the civil war, something called The Digital Museum for my museum studies certificate, and i’m doing research on american history up to 1860 💪🏻
i’m thinking about writing about catholic nuns and midwifery and the social stigma around unwed mothers in montreal in the early 19th century, though, so i should........ check with the prof to see if that is ok to do lol
applied for a summer fellowship in upstate NY that would get me all the hours i need for my museum studies internship and i would get some cool research & exhibit design experience and i would live somewhere where the land is not just a flat formless void in all directions. i had my interview last week and should be hearing back from them soon!!!!
back in september the vet told us that noel only had about 3-4 months left to live. it’s been over 4 months and she’s still sticking around! she even has more energy now than she did before her diagnosis!!
i’m a much better and more confident driver now but i still don’t know how 2 pump my own gas :(
i lost ~20 lbs since this past june just by eating less food in a day and learning wtf proportions are. somehow managed to maintain that weight over the holidays. still have about 15 lbs left to lose but as it gets warmer i’m gonna try to Do More Things and mayyyyybe think about doing some strength training lol. i do want to hike more tho
my birthday is the 17th and i only want 2 things: gritty cupcakes and airpods. i feel like louis-philippe or someone. the duality of man
#boring text post#mostly...... i am just tired#anyway if u want the secret special inspo tumblrs....... lmk and i will drop the link for u#otherwise i can be found elsewhere on twitter and pinterest and goodreads and letterboxd and in death

Danish Neuroscience Center - Designed by @big_builds for @auhdk A new hospital in Denmark takes an entirely new approach to brain science in order to improve mental health globally! ⠀ ⠀ • The first-of-its-kind in the world, the Danish Neuroscience Center designed by BIG for @auhdk will bring psychiatry and neuroscience under one roof to re-think how physical and mental brain diseases, spinal cord, and nervous systems are treated ⠀ ⠀ • Set to open in 2026, the architecture of the 20,000 m2 center mimics the gyrification of the human brain to utilize the limited site area most efficiently while creating connections, green spaces and synergies within the hospital ⠀ ⠀ • The building, which aims for a DGBN Gold sustainability certification, combines the efficiency of a double loaded corridor building with the generosity and openness of a classic atrium typology ⠀ ⠀ • To avoid traditional separation between departments and disciplines - from nuclear medicine, headache clinic to psychiatry - the design organizes them by the functions they have in common, encouraging crossbreeding between the different research groups that can help fuel inspiration, innovation and creativity ⠀ ⠀ • An experience center at the ground floor will allow patients and guests to learn about the brain through interactive exhibits and the hospital’s latest research . ❌Turn ON Post Notifications to see new Contents.❗ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Follow @archdlofficial for more! 🖤 Tag #archdl or DM your works for Featuring! . . . . . . . . . . #thearchiologist #archviz #arch_grap #allofrenders #archigram #archisource #pimpmyplan #instarender #archolution #archihub #architonic #av_platform #architectureonpaper #koozarch #architecturestudent #thebna #itscritday #rendering #showitbetter #instaarch #dezeen #archue #arquitecturamx #koozarch #illustrarch #next_top_architects #wisearchi #architectureideas #architecture_hunter (at Aarhus, Denmark) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbkS7L6sxxv/?utm_medium=tumblr

Ebay item number 234478395096 Spanish born Silvia Duran, studied art with her father and in Bellas Artes de Barcelona, In England, an A level in Art and a City and Guilds Certificate, she enjoyed painting London, the RiverThames, St Pauls, etc. and the beautiful English Countryside. Her life and work changed forever the day she saw the film 'Born Free'. She knew then that she wanted to paint the Big Cats and specialised in these magnificent felines. She was allowed into the Wildlife Parks to sketch and study the animals at close quarters. Many Exhibitions followed, in London, throughout England and abroad. Her works have been widely printed by Solomon and Whitehead, Rosenstiels, Medici Fine Arts, etc. Travelling to Africa to see Lions in their natural habitat, later was invited by the legendary George Adamson to stay at his 'Kampi Ya Simba' at Kora. That was the most incredible experience of her life ... . She produced paintings for the WWF, Born Free Foundation, Kora Trust Wildlife Foundation and others to help the animals. Invited by His Excellency Sheik Khalifa Bin Sulman Alkhalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain to have an Exhibition, her style of work changed. The beautiful island of Bahrain .... with its stunningly bright light, intense vibrant colours, flowers, palaces, desert sand and turquoise seas.... opened a whole new world of fantasy for Silvia and from her canvases began to emerge white winged Lions, and Tigers.... opulently coloured Peacocks, Unicorns.... and dolphins ... crystals, pearls and gold. A new fabulous Universe. Silvia´s home near the sea, is graced by the presence of her large family of cats, which are an endless source of inspiration and pleasure https://www.instagram.com/p/CbcFefRoirs/?utm_medium=tumblr
