Interlude / Prologue - The Pledge Blessed by the Ten

I decided that I am proud of the glorious plot-heavy canon-compliant smut I wrote earlier this year and should probably share it on Tumblr. It’s canon compliant Kotaloy but I’m also a multi shipper and enjoy exploring NPC POV. This interlude for general audiences, though, and is not explicit.

Series: Trust, and the Release Will Come This interlude before Part 5 is just a little headcanon exploration of Kotallo's shift from pain and desolation to hope for the future after The Broken Sky and The Kulrut quests. (Both Hekarro and Kotallo POV) (the author enjoys watching youtube compilations of all the cut scenes and doing moment by moment headcanon analysis of all microexpressions)

But then he heard the Outlander’s voice, calling out not to him, but to—

“Kotallo!”

Suddenly he was shoved to the side, and the ancient Fighter Jet, the physical remnant of the Wings of the Ten, crashed down beside them, breaking into pieces. Shattering like his Vision for the survival of the Tenakth.

Had he led them astray? Where had he gone wrong?

He and Kotallo, for that was who had saved him, struggled to their feet, watching for whether Regalla survived. Yes, there she was, breath heaving, readying herself for her next assault on him. Hekarro looked around himself at the rampant destruction of all that was sacred to his people. He heard the Kulrut’s competitors’ and his guards’ rapid footsteps approaching from behind him, and looked to them as well.

What would come of this? 

Wait, why had he taken his eyes off of Regalla?!

Motion in his peripheral vision caught his eye.

Regalla fled. 

She fled? 

His strongest Marshal, instead of trying again, or accepting the fate she’d demanded before, fled from—

The Outlander.

His eyes took in her red hair, fire-bright and motionless. She stood, dusty but miraculously unharmed, between Regalla and himself. Between Regalla and his people, and his faltering, crashing, shattering Vision. She was as unyielding as the Bulwark that had been forced to yield to her.

dandelion is indeed the worst but if he’s not present in the next book i would legitimately be sorrowful as the whole thing will become a slog . you basically cannot have the “short stories” era-of-the-timeline iteration of geralt without dandelion, it would be like eating unbuttered bread.

though it’s not like season of storms did them dirty, i wasn’t disappointed with it (… with regards to them), but since it’s literally been over 20 years since the saga was finished i’m trying to prepare for any potential reality

in 6.4, duty support for stormblood MSQ dungeons was added, which introduced carvallain (zenos' VA) and arenvald (ardbert's VA) as party members for the sirensong sea and ala mhigo, respectively. both came with a full set of voice lines that (as far as i know) have not yet been documented anywhere, so here you go.
