I'd like to tell you all a story about my grandmother.
My grandparents raised their children, four girls (one of them my mother), to be fighters. My aunts marched in Washington for women's rights with babies strapped to their chests and like to joke that all of the grandchildren who came from that line (including myself) were born with picket signs in their hands.
But it started with my grandparents. They fought hard for what they believed in. They marched against Vietnam. They marched for Martin Luther King. They marched for women's rights. They marched for a better future.
But let's talk specifically about my grandmother for a moment.
My grandmother unfortunately passed away in 2016. She had to watch the first Trump election and did so knowing that it would probably be the last election she'd ever see. And there is some argument there that she could have given in to fear and defeatism. She could have decided none of it was worth it, and she could have decided that fascism had won and the world was over.
But she did something else instead.
To give some context, my grandparents had friends who were Republicans. I say were, because they shifted from the normal Republican towards the MAGA Republican we see today. And despite a very clear message from my family about how we felt, they were more than ready to still come to the funeral as if everything was normal. Like their beliefs were normal. Like they were welcome to celebrate someone who had fought so hard for the rights of other people.
These were people who would have absolutely used their rhetoric to scream and shout if they were left out or disinvited.
And so my grandmother, even past her final moments, pulled the most brilliant, petty move I've ever seen.
She'd decided ahead of time that everyone who had known her was more than welcome to attend but that she wanted everyone attending the funeral to donate money. That was the requirement to be invited. And so everyone did just that. There was no talk about what the donations were for, just that they were appreciated. I want to say that the assumption was the money would help pay for funeral expenses and give the family some support while we grieved.
Except that wasn't the case.
Because in those final moments of the funeral, the rabbi stepped forward to thank everyone, and then very cheerfully announced;
"Arlene was so happy to know just how many people were coming to join us here today. She couldn't have been more proud of her family. And I'm sure she would have been elated to see just how much money you all gave today to Planned Parenthood."
When I say that the faces of those people are enshrined in my memory, I mean it. The anger, the devastation, the rage, the betrayal. It was an absolutely gorgeous display of true defeat at the hands of a boss ass old lady who literally fought with her last breath and threw up both middle fingers all the way out the door.
What I'm saying is this.
It is very easy to feel defeated. It is very easy to think that everything is over, and there's nothing left for us to do. It's very easy to say that fascism won, that fear won, that hate won.
But that's only true if you let it be true.
There is always more that we can do. There is a future that is still worth fighting for. And it's more than possible, even when it doesn't seem like it.
And fighting is going to look different every time.
Some days it will look like picket signs in our hands.
Some days it will look like spending time with friends and family and people you love and knowing that you have a community that supports you and your vision of a brighter future.
And some days, it's pulling absolute natural level 20 petty trickster shit even after you've left the world.
Because you can always make an impact and you can always add a little brightness to life, and if that means tricking a group of MAGA idiots into throwing their money behind Planned Parenthood in the middle of your own goddamn funeral then that's what it means.
Keep fighting. People have done it before you. People will continue to do it after you.
And enjoy the little victories.
(Even the petty ones)

MMA Tigers Program Age 3 to 13,13 to 35, years is enough time to learn a lot, it gives you time to focus on your overall growth as a fighter and time to focus on other things as well, while you prepare. It actually took me about 4 year before my first amateur fight, but for about 2 of that I was out of commission with knee and shoulder issues, and I had some mental issues that sidetracked me as well. Although, I was coaching wrestling during much of this time and getting on the mat pretty much every day I was physically able. I also had no coach or instructors until I was 3-13 fights in. I won all of 3 -13 of these fights without being hit except from some ill-advised wild punches from the bottom, and already had a title.(mmatigers.com ) LEARN MMA/BOXING/GYMNASTICS My Sir experience is not common, I promise. I was lucky enough that my wrestling was far beyond anyone on the local MMA scene, and it transferred very easily to BJJ, which most wrestlers don't have going for them. I had the facilities to train in and friends within wrestling who were also just learning to fight, so we would train together. If you do, consider yourself fortunate and take advantage. MMA Tigers Trainers National, International Trainers Tanning Mixed Martial Arts. I would recommend finding a good coach who can guide you through the process, and training as much as you can without breaking yourself, with a particular emphasis on increasing your overall skillset. In the last 6 months before you start your training camp for your first fight, focus on developing your best skills. If you have natural grappling ability, work your takedowns and submissions, if you have natural punching power or keen instincts, perfect your boxing and Muay Thai. This way you can specialize in the weeks leading up to the fight and you'll know how you intend the fight to go.
Unlike Boxing which only allows punches such as jabs and uppercuts, MMA allows for a wide range of strikes. The strikes allowed in MMA include elbows, knees, kicks, and spinning back fists. OH MY GOD Donald Trump Is A Ken Player Who Never Blocks, And Never Leaves Yomi Level 1
"donald u cant fire everyone in your cabinet, youre gonna get counterhit"
donalds response: mash jab
"donald u cant say stuff like that in a rally, it's unsafe on block"
donald's response: light shoryuken
"donald u cant take confidential documents home, ull get punished for huge damage"
donalds response: medium shoryuken
"donald u cant break a gag order immediatelly after recieving it, it's predictable for the opponent"
donald's response: heavy shoryuken
"donald u cant threaten a judge, youre low on health"

Yes and I can show you many other russians such as the last 2 I reblogged that support Ukraine. I get that Russia is the enemy but these things are just confirmation bias (I see how bias is almost justified in this case but I also have my own perspective-- from the things i have seen). Of course there are many russians like this but some do risk their lives for Ukraine, such as the political prisoners in prison now who could be killed like navalny. They don't have navalnys publicity and he was killed so. putin may easily kill them with impunity. Many like Dima Ivanov and Ilya Yashin spoke out against Bucha and were imprisoned for it. A majority is causing evil, but I believe in individual rights and justice and choices, and these people are brave and deserve justice for standing up for what's right.
There are also Russians who helped Ukrainians escape russia, but no one hears about them. They get no publicity but they do it anyway. At risk of prison-- which is risk of their life.
your liberal russians))
#i get that theyre in the minority.#but te minority matters#bravery matters#doing whats right matters.#otherwise nothing does.#also Russian saboteurs#fighters#etc.#all means all or not.#each human life matters#im never going to stop believing it#and ill fight trump and his ilk in usa too#and i send money to ukraine and speak up for Ukraine#even tho i barely get response#but i keep hope#idk with all this maybe my hope in humanity wll be dashed#but these Russians do give me hope.#i really cant help but speak out at injustice#imbalance#on twitter fb youtube etc

I’m so depressed about Biden dropping out. He didn’t win by a landslide in 2020, so I can understand the uncertainty but he didn’t have to deal with misogyny
I’m so worried the people on the left who handed the election to Trump because Clinton wasn’t perfect and they were, let’s face it, cishet white males who are largely unaffected either way, will do that again.
yeah I can understand that, I can understand sadness at this moment and this choice. I am by inclination a fighter, and I would have fought for President Biden all the way, and I believe he could have won. And the way this all came about is disappointing and upsetting.
All that said, take this evening for the feelings, and then tomorrow, do what he asked, Biden asked us to fight for his Vice-President, and thats what we're gonna do
she's gonna face shit, for sure, but we're not in 2016, we've learned our lessons, we're not gonna apologize for our candidate, we're gonna say "yeah, and he's a rapist" because he is.
Every day till November, we have to fight, harder than ever before, because yeah they'll come after her and she needs every support ready with a clap back.

Ozzgibz my lord may we have just one more crumb of pickle content pls pls pls🙏🙏🙏
Like I have an idea, reader as pickles mother🧐 like like like U wake up together after many many years
Not just a crumb, but an entire loaf! :D I will use this chance to finally finish all of the Pickle related requests I currently have. (At least I hope I haven’t omitted anything). So you may consider this a Pickle megathread, containing multiple requests put together.
Pickle Headcanons: A collection
Featuring Pickle and Reader: Pickle’s Mother! Reader, Pickle trying modern treats, Pickle and his newborn, Pickle x Student! Reader and Pickle x OP! Reader.
Pickle’s Mother! Reader
You wake up surrounded by heavy, intricate machinery and at a certain point it occurs to you just how long your slumber has been. Ah, that explains the peaceful, uninterrupted rest. You can’t recall the last time you slept this well. And, like clockwork, you hear the humans scream mere seconds after you stretch your rusted bones. A familiar growl jolts you back into action. Being frozen for millennia sadly doesn’t strip you of your motherly role.
With a groan, you rip the medical cords away from your body, indifferent to the frightened stares of the scientists currently unsure of your intentions. They needn’t be afraid for long. With the calculated movements of someone that has been doing this one too many times, you walk towards the source of ruckus and return with Pickle under your arm. It’s almost as if you’re wearing an invisible hero cape: the research team can finally relax knowing Pickle’s fearsome mother is here to keep him under control.
This arrangement now poses an interesting dilemma: how will the fights unfold under the watchful gaze of a protective, Jurassic mom? Should the fighters be worried about a vengeful counterattack if they’re too hasty with your son? The first one to test the waters is Retsu, and before he enters the arena you place a heavy hand on his shoulder, briefly guiding him aside. He nervously watches your gestures as you pretend to beat up an invisible opponent. Are you showing him potential punishments? Then you give him a friendly nudge and point to Pickle. Realization sinks in and he stares at you, wide eyed. You’re giving him advice on how to give Pickle a proper beating. Well, obviously. If they’re going to challenge your menace of a son, they should at least make it worthwhile. Rough him up a little. At the end of the day, it’s less work for you.
Pickle tries modern treats
Pickle would probably lose his mind with any carbonated drink or sweet flavor. He never had access to this amount of sugar, so I’m wondering if he’d think it’s poisonous once he becomes agitated from the abrupt intake. Nice, exquisite smell and a vibrant color that tempts him enough to give it a try. Next thing you know, the liquid sizzles in his mouth and he panics, but eventually settles down. Then his heartbeat increases and he’s squirming under the confused stares of the fighters (who initially offered him the drink), until Professor Payne points out his body might not be accustomed to our levels of sugar. The real trouble starts once he can handle the unhealthy snacks, because someone will have to stop him from overeating. (To be fair I’ve also never had a Baja Blast, seems less popular/available in Europe but it looks nice.)
Pickle unable to care for his baby
They say your life flashes before your eyes as you die and you certainly gazed upon a delectable bunch of recollections when the prehistoric man swung his massive body towards you, growling threateningly. They were hoping the fighters could keep him entertained long enough for you to feed the baby, but it seems his fatherly instincts (that he’s otherwise lacking) trumped his need for battle. Thankfully, he stops right before his clawed hand touches your frightened face. For the first time he sees his newborn eating, the puffy cheeks expanding with each gulp of the mysterious bottled liquid you’re providing.
Well, if all you’re doing is feeding his child, he might as well keep you around. You certainly don’t look like a threat, even less so than the men he just faced in the Arena. To the relief of everyone witnessing the spectacle, you get to live and handle the baby. Not like you have significantly more experience when it comes to taking care of infants, but with the help of the scientists you manage to ease Pickle into his parenting role.
All this time spent together has reminded Pickle just how much he misses the presence of a second parent. The baby likes you, you seem to be rather knowledgeable about these matters, and you’re extremely cute if he is to be fully honest with himself. The Jurassic man can’t help the faint smile gracing his features whenever he pictures it: you make a nice family, wouldn’t you agree?
Pickle x Student! Female Reader
You’ve learned to ignore the bewildered stares. Thankfully, this time, the only unusual sight consists of Pickle’s gargantuan size and nothing else. He’s dressed in modern attire and has since learned to behave better in public. You recall the first encounters, where an almost naked Jurassic creature kept following you around and wouldn’t take no for an answer. It took you several weeks to figure out he’s interested in you, and you eventually relented. Naturally you couldn’t have gone outside with a wild jungle beast donning a fundoshi and nothing else. So you did your best to instill modern customs into your new boyfriend.
And, for the most part, it worked. He’s sitting with you on a campus bench, politely waiting for you to finish your rough sketch. He enjoys watching your drawing process, especially if he’s the subject of the piece. A giddy feeling overwhelms him, almost as if he’s being physically touched with each stroke of the pencil. The fact that you observe him so carefully, and then somehow reproduce the image so accurately on paper…It entertains him greatly. Sadly he can’t return the favor. You’ve offered him drawing tools before in case he wanted to join your creative hobby, but there was no dormant Botticelli in his soul waiting to be awakened.
While he may not share your artistic inclination, you can at least be assured that no threat will ever reach your proximity again. His hands were built for battle and he makes sure you witness this truth on every occasion. No fight begins without your presence in the Underground Arena. As much as you feel for his battered opponents, the whole ordeal results in very neat action frames. You leave the matches with brand new batches of doodles. Who would’ve thought you’d find your muse in a prehistoric man? Additionally, if you ever need some extra cash, there’s always the option of delving into erotic art. After all, you have access to any reference you could ever need and Pickle would be most eager to help you.
Pickle x OP! Reader
@mariahvilla569
So this was a little difficult because I wasn’t sure whether Reader is overpowered in relation to someone in particular or just the whole Bakiverse. I went for a Reader who’s stronger than everyone else.
Pickle was very confused when he met you for the first time, standing in the audience of the Underground Arena to observe his match with Retsu. He was instantly smitten and was about to discard any intention of a fight to immediately pursue you instead, but he was stopped by multiple men forming a barrier before you and an angered Retsu demanding his undivided attention. He assumed you must be someone’s partner and therefore he’ll have to win his way to you. He couldn’t have guessed in a million years that you were politely allowing everyone else to have their fun before you swiftly cashed in your victory.
You did have enough grace to take your time with the prehistoric man. He doesn’t doubt that if you so desired, you could’ve ended the battle within mere moments; but just like the rest of the men, you wanted your fair share of entertainment. This way Pickle was also offered a sample of your exquisite skills, which made all the fighters before you fade into nothingness. Truly astonishing that a human half his size would tower above him in terms of raw power. He was left beyond impressed and his initial crush has avalanched into a full blown obsession.
Just because you’re stronger doesn’t mean he can’t fulfill the duties of a protective partner. Consider it a way to efficiently save time, as whoever isn’t strong enough to get past him isn’t worth your precious time. Not to mention that Pickle has come to view your sparring sessions as a special form of intimacy reserved for him and you only. If you need to train, he should suffice as an opponent. There’s no one else as sturdy as him, and you’re always in a great mood after a proper fight, so he’d be an utter fool not to take advantage of it.

God the more I rewatch Etoiles fight the more it hurts. Hell the more I watch any parent fight their egg it hurts, from Max bawling over Trump to Quackity being basically insta killed by Tilin and Roiers anger as fake Bobby didn't attack them while Jaiden was filled with conflicting delusional happiness.
But especially this Etoiles fight yesterday puts the whole dinner into a much bigger perspective and I'd like to think that that's the reason why they put Phil in the fight with Etoiles.
They wanted him to hesitate.
They wanted Phil to be the burden during that fight because those things carry the names of his children, the children he'd burn the world down for. But they underestimated how strict Phil is with his trust and decision making to the point that even in egg form he treated them like they were monsters instead of his children.
Phil's special because while yes during Etoiles fight the code got better at adapting to an egg its still the same concept. He still had definite proof that that wasn't her but he still hesitated.
And I wanna go into the why of that, Phil's a hard-core player through and through and you will not get that out of his playstyle, you can see it on every multi-player server he's been on in the past because thats just how he plays the game. And as a hard-core player he probably has the most interesting relationship to mortality and is someone who can understand the eggs on a whole different level. But this means he's also INCREDIBLY aware of how much weight decision making carries and how even a single decision could decide over him staying alive or dying, he's used to that, it doesn't bother him anymore. That's why Phil is also someone who's very confident in his decisions, when he says he won't do or go to something because he knows the outcome then he means that and not even curiosity will get the better of him if he sees any form of danger or risk. If he tells Tallulah or Chayanne an instruction he expects them to follow it to a T because he gives those for good reasons each time (and both of his kids know that his instructions are teachings more than they are just him telling them to do something). And this confidence in his own decisions is why he fought those codes so relentlessly at the dinner, I'm convinced even if he hadn't gone back to get a picture of his kids he still would've fought these codes the same way. He trusts his experience and he trusts that he'll be able to deal with the consequences of his own decisions no matter if the outcome is good or bad. There's a reason why other players usually come to him for advice or when he spends time with someone he naturally falls into a teaching role, it's because he knows so much because he's had to know it all to survive in a world where death is inevitable.
Now why does that differ him from Etoiles? Well Him and Etoiles are good fighter's in their own ways. There's no doubt about that. But Etoiles is more upfront, he's smart during pvp and incredibly knowledgeable about statistics and strategy but ironically enough he still struggles to trust in his own words and decisions. He's someone who's quickly plagued by regret or doubts, it's why he praises Bad and Phil so much. Because both of them are incredibly headstrong and confident in their decisions just due to sheer experience. Etoiles just isn't even if his experience is just as good. And you can see this hesitancy even during the dinner fight, he didn't want to fight the codes until they hit him first. And it was Phil screaming to kill those things that made him set on actually attacking. Even when he got singled out later on and had a fake Tallulah follow him, he didn't attack until Phil confirmed Tallulah was safe with him. Etoiles trusts Bads and Phil's words a lot and holds them both in high regards when it comes to their opinions and decisions because he knows how much sheer experience those 2 carry. But during that fight yesterday he was alone, each of his actions couldn't be reassured because he was fighting alone and the actual Pomme wasn't there. He was terrified of making a wrong decision, even with Pierre reassuring him that it wasn't Pomme Etoiles couldn't bring himself to trust his own decision, even with their secret code not working Etoiles couldn't trust himself, even with seeing it carry the codes swords he couldn't trust himself. Even after the fight was over, after he saw Pommes bed with her sleeping tightly in it. He couldn't trust himself. He didn't feel like a winner to himself because his mind went into a spiral about of his decision was right or not, his mind screamed at him because he was sure he had fucked up royally and that's what makes it so interesting. Because Etoiles is a good fighter! And I'm pretty sure with equal gear he'd beat the 2 he holds in high regards to fighting skill a good amount. But he doesn't hold his own decision making very high, he's happy to be as help as a weapon that when he has to make a call he hesitates. And it didn't help that he had his daughters face stare at him while he had to make that important decision because while Phil loves his children just as much as Etoiles does, Phil never had to earn to be trusted with them. Phil's always been someone people trusted with the eggs while Etoiles had to earn his time with Pomme in promising he'll never let her die on his watch and will be careful beyond believe while he's with her.
It shows in the confidence of their decisions, and it's fascinating how much more it shows during these high tension moments. Etoiles is someone who struggles so much with the knowledge of failure and its what made his fight hurt so much more, because he was convinced he'd fucked up bad even after he saw her bed.
Just some food for thought about our codebreakers

LET SINK THIS IN
Here’s a question
Q. Who should have won the 2016 US Presidential Election
A. Trump
B. Hillary Clinton
Here’s another question..
Q. What would you prefer as WW3
A. Psychological warfare, coercion and the people using their own decision to get a “vaccine”, some being placebo, some a flu shot, some a clotshot
B. Global nuclear Armageddon
And one last question..
Q. Which will cause more death in the previous question
A The Covid jab
B A global nuclear war
It’s wise to remember that Trump forced the hand of the cabal as he knew the jab was already made in 2018. This brave action destroyed the need for lockdowns, which were not supposed to end until late 2024 and the jabs released from 2025. Trump getting the jab released early justified an end to the lockdowns and an end to the Emergency Usage Act, again forcing big pharma to seek proper FDA approval of a commercial vaccine, which the FDA would never have given approval for. This is why they came up with new strains, to keep the EUA and lockdowns. This also caused the cabal to speed things up, they made mistakes, and people started to wake up earlier, and quicker.

In its last moments, the Role Aids line sought to reimagine the fundamentals of D&D. Arch Magic pushed arcane spellcasting to the outer reaches. The Blood & Steel box set (1993) seeks to renovate combat. That’s Carl Critchlow on the cover (not Biz, shockingly). Interiors are by Julian Jackson. In a novel bit of art direction, we get to see a fighter carve his way through opponent after opponent on each page, until he meets his match against a warlock.
I’m a poor judge of this box set. I kind of hate replacement combat systems — they’re almost always noodly and more complicated than the vanilla system, which I guess really lights some folks’ fire, but I want less complicated fighting, generally. At a glance, all the new fighter stuff is complicated. Skill points. Wound points. My eyes glazed over when I tried to read the 2.5 player option book for fighters, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the methodology here wound up in there in some form after TSR bought the line. There are a bunch of new fighter class variants, too, but the fact that the fighter in the illustrations handily dispatches all of them but the warlock doesn’t really inspire confidence.
The big thing is the combat cards. 180 cards that kind of work similarly to the Lost Worlds one-on-one combat books, with each card displaying a maneuver with bonuses and penalties, both of which are resolved and applied to the combat rolls. I think. I kinda like this, actually, I enjoy the idea of building more move-to-move action into combat (I especially like that the intention here is to only use it when the fighter requests it, which seem like a good way to heighten the drama). But at the end of the day, simple” usually trumps “cool but complex” for me.

Lame-duck periods are meant to be inconsequential, but on Thursday afternoon at the White House, U.S. President Joe Biden got a chance to present one of the most important breakthroughs of his time in office. In what was the largest U.S.-Russia prisoner swap since the Cold War, involving at least seven countries over a period of months, a total of 24 people moved across borders as pawns in a game of global 3D chess.
Eight Russians are returning home in exchange for a combination of 16 Americans, Germans, and Russians. Within an hour of confirmation that U.S. prisoners were safely out of Russia, Biden assembled family members of the freed Americans at the White House and addressed a gathering of journalists. As he looked into the cameras, he no doubt knew that he was being closely watched by his counterparts in Beijing and Moscow, by millions of people around the world, and by history.
Even in his moment of triumph, Biden found a way to focus on the human reality of the moment. He singled out Miriam, the daughter of the released Russian American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva. It was one day until her 13th birthday, and Biden put an arm around Miriam, leading a chorus of the world’s most popular song. The joy was obviously precipitated by a major international development, but it was also the day a teenage girl would see her mother again after more than nine months in prison, convicted for the crime of writing about Russia’s army.
There’s a long list of prominent names involved in Thursday’s prisoner swap, including Evan Gershkovich, the Wall Street Journal reporter sentenced to 16 years in prison under false claims of conducting espionage, and Paul Whelan, a former U.S. Marine who was in Russia for a friend’s wedding and accused, again, of espionage. There were German citizens and even Russians, including Oleg Orlov, a human rights defender and co-chair of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning group Memorial, in prison for speaking his mind about his country’s war in Ukraine.
Journalists, tourists, and activists went one way in the prisoner exchange; on the other side was Vadim Krasikov, a former colonel in Russia’s Federal Security Service serving a life sentence in a German prison for a hit on a former Chechen fighter, conducted in broad daylight in Berlin. Others included a Russian citizen involved in international money laundering, a hacker, a credit card fraudster, and an actual spy.
The historic exchange instantly evokes imagery from the Cold War, when such transfers of prisoners were more common. But rather than the historical parallels, it is the contrasts drawn by Thursday’s events that will be remembered. There was Washington, fighting for the freedom of not only its own citizens but also Russians who dared to criticize their own government, and in stark relief there was Moscow, openly trading journalists for criminals and Nobel winners for fraudsters. The Kremlin has gleefully applauded knocks to U.S. soft power, from the misadventure of the Iraq War to the botched U.S. departure from Afghanistan in 2021, but the symbolism of the moment will have not been lost on Russian President Vladimir Putin: This exchange isn’t a great look for him. And even though Biden’s claims of a grand battle between democracies and autocracies are often criticized for being too black and white for the modern multipolar world, the lame-duck president now has a moment to mark his favorite reference in the history books.
It’s an election year in the United States, so contrasts will also be drawn around the alternate visions of Washington’s role in the world—currently being debated by surrogates for the Democratic and Republican campaigns. Former U.S. President Donald Trump has long argued for a more transactional approach to geopolitics. In such a world, there are two players—one is a winner, the other a loser. The Trump worldview prioritizes singular might over alliances; values don’t matter as much as the value of the hand of cards a player is clutching to their chest. Biden, while careful to focus on the humanity and history of the moment, couldn’t resist pointing out the difference: “For anyone who questions whether allies matter, they do.” He was referring in particular to the role of Germany, which had reportedly been reluctant to give up Krasikov. Biden personally spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in January and February, arguing the importance of the prisoner exchange.
Speaking a short while later to reporters, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan built on his boss’s message as he detailed the roles played by Germany, Turkey, and others in the prisoner swap. “There is no more powerful example of the importance and power of allies,” he said. “This was vintage Joe Biden.”
Supporters of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris are also pointing out her role, visiting the Munich Security Conference a few times as vice president and building relations with German and European leaders.
Sen. J.D. Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, was quick to offer an alternative view: “We have to ask ourselves, why are they coming home? And I think it’s because bad guys all over the world recognize Donald Trump’s about to be back in office, so they’re cleaning house. That’s a good thing.”
And so the race for the White House rolls on, with both sides seeking to score points and spin their version of events. Thursday will be a historic study in contrasts—between Washington and Moscow and between rules and impunity. It will also be a moment that could play a part in an American referendum on Washington’s role in the world and whether the electorate favors the slow, painstaking diplomacy of Biden or the instant gratification and drama of Trump’s dealmaking.

they could never make me hate you Shoko Ieiri
Shoko is such a tragic character (and to me, the most relatable character in jjk (lolol the numbly depressed med student is jumping out))
she gets a lot of shit for her apathy but to be honest, there’s not much else she can do to protect herself
Shoko has been patching people up and doing autopsies since she was in school. Out of the entire cast of characters, she is probably the one who has the clearest view of how many of her fellow sorcerers die and/or are seriously injured in battle… it is a decently well documented phenomenon that working in healthcare lowers your active empathy levels, as a defense mechanism to distance yourself from all of the pain and loss you are confronted with on a daily basis… it is another fact that in most if not all countries, there are strict laws in place to prevent doctors and other medical professionals from treating their close friends and relatives
Shoko never had that protection… Jujutsu society is small and everyone knows everyone, she is in a position where she is constantly having to stay calm and level headed while her friends and comrades and injured and dying …
in addition to that Shoko, as their best healer, has always been taught to take a passive role in the action (she wasn’t sent out on dangerous missions, she had to stay back during Shibuya etc)
getting emotional over any of this wasn’t going to help her, or anyone else for that matter
Shoko grew up between Gojo and Geto, two once in a generation (once in a century in Gojo’s case) powerhouses who were both highly emotional in their own ways (cue the clip of her leaving the gym when the two were bickering in the hidden inventory arc)
She isn’t like them, and she CANT be like them, cause it would be detrimental to her role in the team
she does not GET to be emotional, so she trained herself out of it till it became second nature
when Geto defected, she did not rage at him or fight him cause there wouldn’t have been a point… she is not a fighter, she knows him well enough to know she is not in direct danger as long as she doesn’t attack first and arguing with him would not have done either of them any good… so she has a last casual conversation with him and calls Satoru, who is the only person who could actually do anything about the situation (either in an argument or in a physical fight)
when he left, all she could do was stay there with Gojo (and she is silently hurt that he never leans on her but she also can’t make him open up against his will)
it’s lonely at the top, but it’s lonely in the morgue too
then, years later, Geto initiated the Night parade of a hundred Demons, forcing Gojo to execute him… we don’t know if Shoko ever saw his body after his death (if Gojo took it to her and didn’t let her cremate him or if he didn’t take Geto’s body to her at all), either way, it can’t have been easy
less than a year later, Gojo is sealed and we see Shoko’s thoughts, about how Gojo felt alone despite the fact that she was there too and that (in my interpretation) they are all monsters on some level (Gojo doesn’t have to be the only monster) waiting for him to come back to them
and when he does come back, (according to Shoko’s own prediction) possibly questionable mental state) he immediately throws himself back into a fight with their two strongest enemies
and for the first time… everyone has to consider the possibility of Satoru Gojo losing… and the students even say, it’s hard to react appropriately cause the possibility of him losing is such a foreign concept
and now to their back up plan for when he does…(the thing my girl gets the most shit for)
Shoko not protesting is rooted in multiple things:
1) They are up against Sukuna and this is the only plan they have in the event of Gojo’s death… if they don’t use every trump card in their deck they WILL die (hence why Yuuta is upset… he is not upset by Gojo’s body being weaponised, he is upset by others hesitating to sacrifice their own humanity)
2) yes she could protest but it wouldn’t help anyone, the last thing you need in a crisis is your doctor getting emotional, if both of the people involved are alright with the procedure, Shoko’s feelings don’t matter and she knows it too, the last thing they need is for her not to be able to do her job

can we talk about elon musk using aot to promote trump (the anime where they overthrow the government, expose them for their corruptions and put a woman in charge in their place and fight against marginalisation and oppressive forces in which the author uses holocaust/ww2 imagery to demonstrate the evils of corrupted power and war. oh and how could i forget the themes of poverty and the rich misusing their wealth and power leaving the most poor of people to suffer the most).
!!!! my eye twitched when i saw that. putting that hat on eren was such a disgrace. bro was literally a freedom fighter his whole life to the point he became obsessed with it, a victim to the evils of war and oppression. and erwin??? who overthrew the royal government??? like the man who literally stood there with pixis and said, word for word bar for bar “in order to retake wall maria we will overthrow the government” ??? i wish yams would sue him for using that fuck ass shit as if their beliefs don’t go against any and everything aot stands for. then again, so many people who watch aot do not have any form of media literacy so …
