Why Don’t People Cover Their Cars in Snow?
Winter brings a unique set of challenges for car owners, particularly when it comes to protecting their vehicles from snow and ice. While some people take steps to shield their cars from winter weather, many still neglect this crucial task. Despite the abundance of car covers, windshield snow covers, and auto snow covers on the market, the question remains: why don’t more people cover their cars in snow?
In this blog post, we will explore this issue in depth. We’ll look at the benefits of using a car snow cover, the consequences of leaving your car exposed to snow, and common reasons why people might avoid using a windshield protector from snow. Along the way, we’ll also highlight popular solutions like the snow windshield cover, windshield cover for snow, and snow cover for cars.
The Importance of Protecting Your Car from Snow
Before diving into the reasons people avoid using snow covers, let’s first understand why protecting your car from snow and ice is crucial.
Preventing Windshield Damage
Winter weather can cause severe damage to a car’s windshield. Snow and ice accumulation can crack the glass, especially when cold temperatures are combined with warm defrosting methods. A windshield protector from snow or a cover windshield snow can help prevent this damage by keeping snow and ice off the windshield.
Saving Time in the Morning
One of the biggest nuisances of winter is waking up to find your car buried in snow. Scraping ice off the windshield can be time-consuming and frustrating, especially if you’re in a hurry. Windshield snow covers and auto snow covers can save you time in the morning, allowing you to quickly remove the cover and drive away with a clean, snow-free windshield.
Preventing Rust and Corrosion
Exposing your car to snow and moisture can lead to rust and corrosion over time. Snow melts into water, and that moisture can seep into tiny cracks and crevices in your car’s exterior, causing long-term damage. Using a car snow cover or snow cover for car helps protect your vehicle’s paint and metal components from the harsh winter elements.
Enhancing Visibility and Safety
Snow and ice buildup on a car can obstruct visibility, making it dangerous to drive. Removing snow from the windshield, mirrors, and windows is essential for safe driving. Car covers for the snow, including snow cover windshields, help ensure that your visibility is not compromised by snow and ice buildup.
Common Reasons People Don’t Use Car Snow Covers
Despite the clear benefits of using a snow cover for cars, many people still choose not to cover their vehicles during the winter months. Here are some common reasons why:
Lack of Awareness
Many people are simply unaware of the various products available to protect their cars from snow and ice. They may not know that options like windshield covers for snow and car covers for snow exist. As a result, they continue to rely on traditional methods of snow removal, like scraping or waiting for the car’s defroster to do the work.
Inconvenience
For some, the idea of putting on and taking off a snow cover for a car every day seems like too much effort. While windshield covers are designed to be easy to install and remove, the extra step may feel like a hassle, especially during a busy morning routine. The convenience of simply scraping the windshield or letting the car warm up might outweigh the perceived benefits of using a windshield protector from snow.
Storage Issues
Storing a car snow cover can be an issue for people with limited space. Some covers are bulky, and if you live in an apartment or have limited garage space, finding a place to store your cover when not in use can be challenging. For those with smaller vehicles or compact living arrangements, the idea of storing a large cover may discourage them from investing in one.
Cost
While there are affordable options for snow windshield covers and car covers for snow, some people may feel that they are unnecessary expenses. They might not see the immediate value in purchasing a product that only gets used a few months out of the year. Additionally, some may be deterred by the cost of higher-quality auto snow covers that offer better protection and durability.
Misconceptions About Effectiveness
Another reason people avoid using a cover for car snow is skepticism about its effectiveness. Some may doubt whether a snow cover windshield can truly protect their car from the harsh winter elements. They may think that snow will still get through the cover or that the cover will freeze to the windshield, making it difficult to remove.
However, modern windshield covers for snow are designed to address these concerns. Many have multiple layers, making them resistant to snow and ice accumulation, and are built to be easily removed even in freezing conditions.
Lack of Experience with Severe Winters
People who live in milder climates may not fully understand the importance of using a windshield cover for snow or a car snow cover. If they rarely experience heavy snowfall, they might not see the necessity of investing in these products. For instance, someone who experiences just a few snowstorms a year may not feel the need for a dedicated car cover for snow.
Reliance on Garages
Many people who have access to a garage might assume they don’t need to use a snow cover for car. While a garage can protect a vehicle from snow, it’s not always a perfect solution. In areas where garages are small or shared, snow can still accumulate on vehicles when parked outdoors. In such cases, a car snow cover would offer extra protection.
The Benefits of Using a Snow Windshield Cover
Now that we’ve explored the reasons people don’t use windshield snow covers, it’s important to highlight the many benefits these products offer. For those who take the plunge and start using a snow cover windshield, the advantages can be immediate and impactful.
Easy Installation and Removal
Contrary to popular belief, installing a windshield cover for snow is a quick and easy process. Most windshield snow covers are designed with user-friendliness in mind. They typically attach to the car with hooks, magnets, or straps, allowing for fast and hassle-free installation.
Protection for the Entire Vehicle
While snow windshield covers are great for the windshield, full car covers for the snow can protect your entire vehicle. This includes the windows, mirrors, and even the body of the car. A car snow cover acts as a shield, preventing snow, ice, and frost from accumulating on the vehicle.
Prevents Interior Frosting
In addition to protecting the exterior, using a windshield cover for snow can prevent the interior of your car from frosting up. When cold air gets inside the car, it can cause frost to form on the inside of the windshield. A windshield protector from snow helps to insulate the glass and reduce the chances of interior frosting.
Durable and Long-Lasting
Investing in a high-quality snow cover for cars can be a smart long-term investment. These products are often made from durable materials that are resistant to tearing, freezing, and water damage. A good auto snow cover can last for many years, providing consistent protection throughout the winter season.
Available in Various Sizes
One size does not fit all when it comes to snow windshield covers. Fortunately, there are a variety of sizes available to suit different types of vehicles, from compact cars to SUVs. This makes it easy for anyone to find a snow cover for car that fits their vehicle perfectly.
Conclusion: A Worthwhile Investment for Winter Protection
In conclusion, while many people may choose not to use a car snow cover or windshield protector from snow, those who do often reap the benefits of convenience, time savings, and vehicle protection. The extra effort of using a snow cover windshield pays off when you consider the long-term benefits, including preventing damage, reducing rust, and improving safety during winter driving.
If you live in an area prone to heavy snow and ice, investing in a windshield snow cover or car cover for snow could make a significant difference in how you tackle winter weather. Not only will you protect your vehicle, but you’ll also save time and reduce stress during those chilly winter mornings.

Man plans, G-d laughs, as they say.
I woke up this morning to a resounding crash; I thought it must have come from next door or even from a car hitting something in the street below, but I only knew where one cat was, so I got up just to be sure. Figured I'd get a snack while I was up so I headed towards the kitchen...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll add image ID later but suffice to say there is some wreckage. A shelf I hung in the kitchen years ago, and which I haven't touched since, fell from about eight feet up. I'm not even sure why since the mounts and the shelf are all sound, but it dropped a couple of ceramic mugs onto a kitchen hutch where there was a glass candle holder, which shattered spectacularly. This morning's work turned out to be cleaning the kitchen floor.
I'll be wearing hard soled slippers in the kitchen for a while. At least it only knocked over my havdalah box and didn't break it. The glass candle holder wasn't anything special anyway.
Everything is ok; the cats are fine, I've swept and vacuumed the floor extensively, and while I'm sad to lose some stuff, it's just stuff. An hour later and I would have been in the kitchen when it fell, which would have been worse. At night the cats eat their dinner on that orange rug, so it could have been much worse.
If you've never broken glass or ceramics in your home, here are some guidelines:
1. Put on shoes immediately. The worst way to find broken glass is with your bare feet. And you will, because broken glass goes everywhere.
2. Sweep everywhere. I found glass and ceramic all over the kitchen floor, including where it should not have been. After sweeping, the vacuum found more.
3. Don't trust plastic trash bags. Put the sweepings in a paper bag or cardboard box.
4. Wear shoes for a few days. Even after sweeping and vacuuming I'm finding shards.
Fortunately we are all fine, so while safety is paramount, no real harm has been done. I'm gonna take the day, though. I'm a bit shaky and so are the cats. They're clinging and yelling for cuddles. I'm very glad that if it had to fall, it fell when and where it did.

30 Minutes or Less
Tumblr media
A continuation of Adonis and Angel's relationship since their first meetup.
Pairing: Danny Wagner x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Smut, slightly rough sex, roleplay, Danny being an absolute demon in the most delicious way 18+ ONLY MINORS DNI!!!
♥️♥️♥️
Friday nights were usually date nights for you and Danny. Ever since you two met up, your Adonis had swept you off your feet, and your relationship quickly fell into place. It should have felt rushed, too fast and startling, the way your sleepovers turned into duffle bags filled with a weeks worth of clothes, until finally your lease was up and Danny offered for you to live with him. There wasn’t a moment of hesitancy between you two, and that weekend, he was driving you insane in a tank top cut to the hem on the sides, driving a UHaul with all of your belongings to his house, that damn backwards baseball cap keeping his curls from tangling in the wind coming in the open window.
Since then you both tried to establish nights to spend together. He’d gotten a new job at a music studio, playing fill-in instruments for various artists coming through and recording, and trying his hand at producing. You had been in awe of his talents, his home filled with instruments, a drum kit in the basement, a wall of guitars with a mandolin in between, a small piano and keyboard sat on the opposite side of the basement. It amazed you how he could walk up to an instrument and play it without a thought.
Tonight was Friday night date night, and you were perched on the couch in a pair of soft cotton shorts and a cropped tank top, watching trash tv to pass the time.
Your phone rang, and you paused the show you were watching, picking it up and tapping on the answer button, seeing Danny’s face pop up, illuminated by the studio parking lot lights as he sat in his car.
“Hi baby!” you grinned watching him smile as he heard your voice.
“Hi to you too, angel.” his crooked smile still made your heart swoon. “I’m on my way home, I’m sorry I’m running a little later than usual. Date night is gonna be a little lame this week.”
“It’s okay, I waited for you for dinner, do you want to pick something up on your way home?” Danny nodded, stretching out in his seat after he placed his phone on the magnetic holder.
“Yeah, do you have anything in mind?” you pursed your lips, and thought on it.
“Ooh, you know what? Pizza sounds really good right now.”
“From that place on 6th street or the one by our house?”
“You know I’m thinking from the place on 6th. Extra mushrooms, extra cheese.” Danny laughed, nodding again.
“Okay, if you call it in I’ll pick it up for us.” you giggled, noting his backward cap and speaking before thinking.
“Aww, and you look like a delivery guy too, with your hat. My own personal pizza delivery boy.” It took a second for it to register with Danny, and then you saw it, a spark of Adonis that flickered in his eyes from time to time.
“Yeah? Will I get a good tip if I make it home in thirty minutes or less?” his voice was low, and he leaned in closer to the phone. You had gotten more bold since being with Danny, working off him to rile him up when he got like this.
“I don’t know, I don’t have very much money,” you feigned a sad, innocent look, batting your eyelashes. “I’m sure we could work something out.” You angled the phone down, showing him the low cut crop top you’d been hanging around the house in, squeezing your arms to your chest so your breasts nearly spilled out the neckline.
“Shit,” Danny sighed. “Order the pizza, now. I’m on my way.” you giggled as you watched him adjust himself with one hand, hanging up with the other and you called in the pizza order. Once that was placed, you jumped up, running to the bedroom where your vanity waited. You took a small reusable makeup removing pad, wiping under your eyes with it making sure any mascara that had ran through your day was washed away.
After reapplying your mascara and running your tube of lip balm over your lips quickly. Running to the bathroom, you flipped on the light, running a brush through your hair and fluffing it up, before running back to the bedroom, grabbing your favorite perfume and spritzing your neck, wrists, the backs of your knees, and your ankles with it. You checked your phone, only ten more minute before Danny would come screeching into the driveway. You quickly shimmied your shorts down, changing out of your regular panties and started digging through your drawer, trying to find that one lacy pair that drove him wild.
Once you’d found them, you slipped them on and pulled your shorts up over them, before scurrying out to the couch, posing to look like you did absolutely nothing since getting off the phone with him. You unpaused your show, but couldn’t pay attention. You kept your ears focused for the sound of Danny pulling into the drive, the lights of every passing car making your heart thump out of your chest with anticipation. You were able to distract yourself, finally starting to pay attention to the show on the television. For how long, you weren’t sure, but just as an argument started riling up, a knock sounded at the front door, startling you.
You furrowed your brow, opening the door to see Danny standing there, pizza box balanced on his open palm. He was still wearing the backward ball cap, and his crooked smile still made your heart flip.
“Hey, I have a delivery for this address?” Danny smirked. Catching on quick, you leaned against the doorframe.
“Oh yeah, I ordered that, about twenty minutes ago.” you replied.
“Awesome, that’ll be $18.75.” Danny replied, holding his other hand out. Biting your bottom lip, you batted your lashes at him as he looked at you expectantly.
“Oh gosh, I’m so sorry,” you pretended to pat yourself down, giving a little shrug. “I don’t have any cash on me.”
“Oh,” Danny let his hand fall, his eyes raking up and down your body.
“You drove all this way, and I’m really hungry…” you began. “Why don’t you come inside, and we can work something out.” Danny’s eyes flickered again and you opened the door, letting him inside. Once the door was closed, you led him into the kitchen, gesturing for him to place the pizza on the counter.
“So, what did you have in mind for payment?” Danny asked, looking around the room. You moved to stand in front of him, placing your hand on his chest, feeling him flex the muscles of his pecs under his shirt. You glanced up at him through your lashes, smirking.
“I was wondering if we could exchange favors?” your voice lowered slightly, a sultry tone exuding as you felt his breath quicken under your hand. “You give me the pizza for free, and I give you the best blowjob you’ve ever had.” Danny’s eyebrow quirked, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“I don’t know, my boss will be pretty pissed if I don’t bring back the cash.” you let your hand travel down his torso, your fingertips resting at the top of his belt buckle, tapping the metal with the tip of your fingernails. You kept eye contact with him as you moved past it, cupping his growing erection through the denim of his jeans.
“Feels like you’d rather stay,” you hummed, leaning in and bumping the tip of his nose with yours, bringing your lips close enough to just graze his, teasing Danny with a kiss you knew he was dying to have after not seeing you all day. Palming him a little rougher, you spoke again as you felt his bulge grow harder in your hand. “I promise the tip will be worth it.”
“O-Okay,” not being sure if it was your Adonis staying in character or that you had really startled him, you smiled, slowly undoing his belt buckle as you finally gave into him and gave him the kiss he was longing for. One of his hands came up behind your head, holding your lips in place as he took his fill of them, waiting until you were at the point of tugging down his jeans and boxer briefs.
When he let you go, you slowly sank to your knees on the kitchen floor, gently taking his long cock in your hand. Leaning forward, you flattened your tongue, giving the underside a long, soft lick before teasing the head with the tip of your tongue, circling around the edge. Giving small kitten licks just under the head, you heard Danny breathe out slowly. You were lucky in the fact that Danny seemed to be a giver in the bedroom, and you knew it was taking a lot for him to let you switch roles.
Torturously working your mouth over him, you tried to take all of him, tears stinging your eyes as you held back a small gagging reflex as he hit the back of your throat. One of Danny’s large hands rested softly on the top of your head, fingers twitching in your hair as you hollowed out your cheeks, the other held his shirt flat against his stomach, making sure the soft cotton didn’t obstruct his view of you. Swallowing around him, you heard him suck in a sharp breath, letting out a quiet moan, his fingers on your head starting to massage your scalp while his hand helped push you forward while you bobbed.
“Shit, that feels good,” he sighed. You felt yourself swell with pride at his praise, letting your tongue trace the vein running along the underside of his cock, flicking the tip just under the head before continuing your motions. Danny’s hand left his stomach, reaching out and grabbing the edge of the kitchen counter next to him, leaning on it to stay upright as his breathing picked up. You used one of your hands to stroke what your mouth couldn’t fully take between deep throated swallows, the other came up to cup his balls, massaging them and feeling them begin to tighten in your palm. You took him in your mouth one more time, down to the base, the tip of your nose being tickled by the curly, coarse hairs on his pelvis.
Danny’s hand left the counter, coming to join the other on your head, holding you in that position for a few seconds before he gently thrust his hips before pulling your head off of him. You looked up at him, mouth open and unashamedly letting a string of spit dangle between your bottom lip and the tip of his cock. Leaning forward, you pressed your wet lips to the tip, giving it a kiss before licking the beading pre-cum from it and licking it off your lips.
His hands fell from your head, one coming under your chin and tugging you up from your knees, so you were standing in front of him. He brought your lips to his, licking across them before finally pressing against yours, his other hand tugging down your cotton shorts and feeling the lace you’d hidden beneath them.
“I have a feeling you were planning this all along.” Danny smirked against your mouth, his thick fingers rubbing against your soaked through panties, making you him. His thumb still rested on your chin, swiping against your bottom lip. “You’re so wet, it would be a shame for me to leave you like this.”
“Please,” you whispered, leaning into his body. Danny smirked down at you before backing up, giving you space and making you feel cold.
“Get on the counter.” Danny commanded, Adonis appearing in his eyes again, needing control. You hesitated for a moment, but jumped up onto the cold granite a shiver running down your spine as your warm skin made contact. Danny sauntered his way over to you, caging you in-between his arms as he sealed your lips with a kiss. “How about I taste that pretty pussy of yours before I really get my money’s worth?”
Your knees rested against Danny’s sides as you nodded and he pushed up your cropped tank top above your breasts, immediately cupping them, swiping his thumbs across your already pebbled nipples. His callused fingertips always applied just the right pressure to make you crave more and more from him, and you were on the verge of begging when he leaned down, taking your left nipple into his mouth. Your head leaned back, knocking into the cabinet and making the dishes inside shake. You let out a soft laugh, and you could feel Danny break against your skin, a chuckle vibrating against you.
He sucked softly on your swollen bud, twirling his tongue around it while his other hand rolled your right one before his thumb and forefinger, pinching softly. Your back arched while tingling shot down between your legs, and you felt yourself getting wetter.  Your hips wriggled against the counter as Danny switched his mouths attention to your right breast. The heat between your thighs felt like it was getting hotter and hotter, and you could feel your pussy start to pulse.
Danny let his hands take your waist, holding you steady as his lips moved to the valley between your breasts, slowly kissing down your body. Smirking at how eager you were, already shifting to try and bring your body closer to his face. Danny removed his hands from your waist for a moment, lowering himself and wrapping his arms around your legs, grabbing your hips and balancing you precariously on the edge of the counter.
“Baby, you are positively glistening for me.” he breathed, looking up at you through his lashes.  “Makes me think you’ve had this fantasy before.” he pressed soft kisses along your inner thighs, nipping gently at the skin as he got closer.
“Stop teasing, please,” you whined, gripping the edge of the counter as he licked his lips, adjusting your legs over his shoulders.
“As you wish,” Danny delved between your thighs, a moan spilling from you as his mouth expertly lapped against your wet pussy. One of your hands moved to rest on top of his head, the backward baseball cap still there. You raked your nails against the material, the scratch sound music to your ears as the sounds of Danny’s mouth on you echoed in the kitchen. He clasped his lips around your clit, suckling it while running his tongue around it in quick circles.
His name fell from your lips, you didn’t care about the role-play anymore, you just wanted to praise the man for his talents in making you unravel. Danny moved between your sucking and circling your clit and leaving hot, open mouthed kisses against you. One of his hands left your thighs, his thick fingertips tracing along your folds, gently prodding and teasing you as you started clenching around nothing. After letting you whine and rock your hips, grinning into your pussy all the while, he slid in his middle and ring fingers inside you, finally relieving the ache between your thighs.
Danny moved his other hand to your pelvis, holding your body down as you rocked against his hand and face.
“You’re gonna slip off if you keep shimmying like that,” Danny gasped, pulling away from your pussy, looking up at you. From the tip of his nose to the end of his chin, his face was glistening with your juices, a sight that made you feel even more ravenous than before. “Stay still for me.” you nodded, guiding his head back to your clit, moaning again as he took it back in his mouth. He picked up the pace with his tongue, circling your clit and applying just the right pressure as he quickened the pistoning motion with his hand. It was becoming more and more difficult to keep your promise to stay still, and Danny could tell by the shaking in your thighs on his shoulders that you were getting close. You felt the fire in your stomach ignite and spread through your veins as your fingers clawed at the granite below you and the fabric of his hat.
“Fuck!” you gasped, your body tensing as you came, Danny continuing to work you over as you rode out your orgasm, panting and still clawing at him. When your body relaxed, Danny pulled away bringing his hand up to his lips, sucking them clean while staring you down and stepping out of his pants and boxer briefs.
You were slumped against the cabinets, but not for too long, as Danny had slid his arms under you and moved you to the living room. You couldn’t help but lean up and kiss him as he walked carefully, tasting yourself on him and moaning.
“You tasted so good baby,” Danny hummed as he placed your feet on the floor by the arm of the couch. He cupped your face in his large hand, the other holding you up. “Felt so good on my fingers, squeezing so tight.” Danny turned you around, bending you over the arm of the couch. Your face rested on a small couch pillow, and you could feel Danny’s hands rubbing up and down the globes of your ass.
Not being able to help yourself, you wiggled your ass in front of him, making him chuckle.
“Eager, are we?”
“Yes, I need to feel you,” you whined, near-panting already. “Please, fuck me already!” Danny gripped your ass cheeks hard and slapped on, sending a jolt through you as you felt him like himself up behind you, running the tip of his hard cock through your folds, collecting the wetness there. Whimpers were falling from your open mouth as he teased the head in before pulling away, coming back and pushing in again and then pulling completely away. “Dammit Danny!”
As soon as the curse in his name flew out of your mouth, he roughly slid into you, jolting you again and making you cry out. Danny wasted no time in building you up, his thrusts hard and fast, the slapping of your skin echoing throughout the house, almost being drowned out by your moans. You were reaching back behind you, clawing to touch some part of him when one of his large hands gathered both your wrists, tugging your upper body up. The new angle hit your sweet spot, a new fresh string of curses tumbling from your mouth as Danny continued ramming into you, primal grunts spilling from his own.
“Fuck that feels so good Danny,” you gasped, the words stuttering out as your body was jostled by his movements. You couldn’t help but relish the delicious drag of his cock inside you as he pulled out and pushed back in over and over, it was something you’d never forget.
“Yeah baby?” Danny grunted out. “Gonna come all over my cock? Make this delivery worth it?” Leave it to him to still keep up at least a glimmer of the roleplay you had long forgotten.
“Yeah,” you panted, “M-make it so-so worth it!” You could feel the coil in your abdomen tightening again, you face flushing as you came to the edge. Your fingers curled, latching onto whatever they could of Danny’s hand, something to anchor yourself as your second climax crashed over you. Danny let go of your wrists but was quick to wrap his arms around your chest and torso, hands squeezing your tits as he put his lips to your ear.
“There’s my beautiful Angel,” he whispered lowly, between harsh breaths. “That’s my good girl.”
“Your good girl,” you agreed, bringing a hand up and tangling in his curls, finally knocking the hat off his head. “Taking your cock so well,” Danny’s hips began to falter as you talked back, and he squeezed you tight to his body as he spilled into you, pressing kisses along your cheek, neck, and shoulder. You let your head fall back, resting on his own broad shoulder, both of you catching your breath.
“S’pose we should go shower.” Danny whispered after a few moments. Your bodies were tacky from drying sweat and made a noise as he gently peeled away from you.
“Yeah, the pizza is already cold anyway.” you laughed softly. Danny turned you around, grinning at you as he cupped your face, his one arm still holding you up.
“Would you mind if the delivery boy stayed and grabbed a slice? I worked up quite the appetite.”
“Not at all,” you smirked, hopping up on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips. “Consider it your tip.”

The older brothers with child reader
AN: I’ve never once posted something like this so bear with me. I made this for a friend of mine who is silly goofy. This is platonic obviously. This only has the older bros but I’ll eventually make hcs for all the characters genuinely I promise please. Reader is Gender neutral. Also She/He levi in this :3
Lucifer:
• you are 1 more added to the 7 how good for you !! But not really !
• nah it’s fine tho really. Just as long as you don’t start/get in much trouble you’ll probably be fine. Oh you’re a kid being raised by a bunch of demons? Nvm then alright.
• genuinely moving on though, I’d say Lucifer would be one of those dads that would show up to whatever sporting event you may do, and just stand arms crossed with like a whole other row of dads watching the game intensely. Not even saying anything except for maybe the occasional jab at the other team and or referee.
• certified shaky camera holder. I don’t care what you wanna say. This man CANNOT record shit steady (me too fr). Might also forget the camera is still on and would just walk around with it in his pocket recording everything. He Denies it ever happened but it definitely did.
• in the anime, there was an episode where Lucifer and some of the brothers went on a camping trip. Working off of this, he definitely wakes you up at 6 in the damn morning just to fish for 3 hours then asks if you wanna hike after you’ve been sitting in a chair or standing for a while and your limbs are all tired. He definitely has one of those back packs that has like a packet for water with a straw coming out of the bag and will drink out of that instead of stopping to drink out of a water bottle for 30 seconds.
• THIS MAN IS INSUFFERABLE WITH BOARD AND CARD GAMES. HE WILL NOT GO EASY ON YOU NO MATTER HOW YOUNG YOU ARE. Oh you wanna win in Uno and you’re 7? TOO DAMN BAD.
• he probably makes the best grilled cheese known to man and if you ask really nicely, he’ll even wake up in the middle of the night to make it for you :3
Mammon:
• oh my fucking god. He is so uncle core you don’t understand. Tacky fashion? Check. Nearly the same if not more energy than the kid? Check. A car to blast music in on the way to get some junk food? Definitely check.
• he has a pool table in his room. I don’t know what else to say. You two probably against each other if by yourselves. He probably purposely shoots for the 8 ball to knock it in and lose if you’re feeling or looking too sad about being behind or losing. He’s cool like that. He plays it off like he didn’t purposely do it. what a good ball. If y’all play against like let’s say beel and belphie or something similar? Y’all are unstoppable 100%. Diavolo and Lucifer? Lucifer would try to win genuinely but diavolo makes trash shots on purpose cause he likes seeing you happy :3
• you two constantly jump to touch door frames or various other stuff near the ceiling. If you’re to short he’ll tease you and kinda brag about being tall but then you bite his knee or something and y’all start a full rough housing session that has Lucifer yelling from across the house telling y’all to calm the hell down before he finishes the fight himself no matter who started it.
• if you’re eating candy in his car or something like he’ll do that dad arm thing where he reaches behind the chair asking for some. He probably calls it the uncle tax or something but yeah
• you play poker with him. Not like real money poker, but poker nonetheless. Y’all are betting fucking candy probably. Stuffed animals too maybe if it gets intense. Again, if he sees you sad about losing most of your candy, he’ll purposely lose so you’ll be happy. He’s just so real like that
Levi:
• he’s definitely the family member that shows you games and movies that he obsesses over, that eventually you yourself obsess over (speaking from experience cough cough)
• if you like the things she likes? Oh boy. You are gonna have the best Halloween costumes of all time I’ll say that much. Hand made too.
• she definitely will watch kids shows with you and like try to get as much into them as you are. Gravity falls? She will go as mable/dipper with you for Halloween or a convention. Adventure time? He will watch any and every piece of media regarding it and will try to have lore convos about it with you. Pokémon? Bold of you to assume she doesn’t already like it you idiot (her fav Pokémon is milotic :3).
• if you suck at games she’ll try to help you but like if it’s a game he is super serious about and you wanna play he’ll probably just give you a fake controller or like let’s you play a mini game exclusively sorry.
• Mario party is always fun with her, you, belphie, and probably beel or mammon. He refuses to steal your star or coins or just do bad things to your character on the board. On the mini games however… she’s destroying you/hj. Mario cart is just as intense if not more intense. She will get a tad bit salty if you somehow get 1st place against her but she’ll be proud at the same time so it evens out.
End X3
Hope you enjoyed and I hope I make another part lol !

Daddy’s Girl/Daddy Kink🫀
*This story is not for everyone!*🫠
*But for the freaks and slutty whores like me with wild imaginations out there enjoy!*😘
Blood drips from the blade of the knife and spatters onto the tile floor as I take a step away from my crouch over the body.
My breathing heavy, heart pounding, I take deep steadying breaths to slow them from the excitement and anxiety of the kill.
The body of the man lies motionless before me full of gaping wounds blood seeping from the injuries across the floor rapidly.
He had died within moments of my brutal attack.
Unsuspecting. Unprepared. Shock still frozen on his features.
My cellphone alerts me of a caller.
With my free hand I remove the cellphone from my pocket looking at the glowing screen. HER. I swipe to answer the call and press the phone to my ear.
“Hello, Love.” I can feel the smile spread across my face as the image of her comes to mind.
“Where are you?” Her voice is sleepy yet soft.
“I’ll be home soon.” I promise as I watch the dead man with unchanged eyes. “How was your day, love?”
“Long. Can you pick up something for dinner? I don’t feel much like cooking.”
“Of course my love.” I smile wider to myself. “What would you like?”
“Sushi.”SHE replies with a gentle voice. Virgin of innocence compared to a killer.
“What kind?” I respond almost perfectly normal for a killer compared to a gentle human.
“Mini rolls, and spicy crunch rolls.”
“I can do that.” I say smoothly.
“Thank you baby.” She says gently.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.”
“I’ll see you soon my love.” I end the call and order the sushi online along with a hibachi steak meal and slip the phone back into my pocket.
Time for a quick clean up job.
I remove my phone once more to make a call to my cleaners for the clean up and disposal.
I meet them outside with specific instructions, and get into my car.
The perks of being The Punisher?
Justice when all else had failed.
~
I make it home by twenty after eight.
Our house is dark aside from the living area.
Minthe is sitting on an oversized chair curled up under a large fuzzy blanket writing in a journal, books laid out before her, watching Forensic Files, a cup of coffee in the cup holder of the chair. Engorged breasts.
I sit the containers of food before her and lean down to press my lips to her nose and forehead before she lifts her head and her pillowy lips touch mine.
Warm. Inviting.
“How was work?” She asks closing up all the things in the chair.
“It was work.” I shrug.
I take them from her hands and put them on the table in the kitchen by her bag before grabbing a couple waters from the fridge and returning to sit at her feet.
“I missed you.” Minthes innocent green eyes behind her glasses would warm my heart if I had one beating inside my chest that wasn’t purely evil.
My heart beat to its own accord.
I smile outwardly. “I missed you too, my love.” Truthfully I do feel something for Minthe like I never have for another. I considered it love.
As a human, I didn’t feel naturally human, nor did I have normal human emotions or tendencies.
I fucked like a human, I looked like a human.
Inside I was something else.
Something I hadn’t put my finger on yet.
As I clean away the oversized chair of trash, Minthe shuts off the tv and folds the blanket to lay over the back of the chair.
I hadn’t noticed she was only in a tank top and panties. No bra, no pants.
Her breasts were full, her thighs were thick, she was perfect.
“Shower with me?” She breathes taking off her glasses and placing them on the table along the wall leading to the bedroom with the attached bath.
I feel the stir of some emotion I can’t decipher.
“Of course my love.”
I follow her into the bedroom straight to the attached bathroom where she removes the tank top and panties and starts the shower.
As it heats she moves in front of me and removes my shirt, my jeans, and my underwear.
She throws our clothes into the hamper before taking my hand and pulling me into the shower sprays.
I watch it roll off her jet black hair and down her backside.
I lather the shampoo into her hair first before moving to wash her body.
My hands move caressing over her paying specific attention to her hardened nipples and rubbing gently over her sensitive area between her thighs, my hands stopping to turn her towards me.
I rinse her hair and body before I wash myself.
As we get out of the shower, I towel dry both of us, and we enter the bedroom.
“Minthe.” My voice is deep as she moves over to the dresser and pulls the drawer open.
“Hhm?”
“Come to me.”
She stops her task and leaves the drawer open turning on her heel toward me and stepping back to me, her breast and thighs moving as she does so.
As she stands before me, I raise my hands to move her hair from her shoulders to her back, moving them back over her skin to palm her breasts till her nipples harden once more and I cup both perfect breast in my hands.
I lower onto my knees, my head to them and run my tongue over both nipples before sucking each one into my mouth enjoying the arch of her back as she pushes them farther into my mouth completely devouring them till she’s almost orgasming.
“Please.” Minthes soft voice is thick. My desperate girl. “Please.”
I stop the assault on her nipples to run my hands up her perfect thighs.
“Spread your legs love.”
“But-.”
“Now.”
Her legs part as I breathe on her sensitive area.
I put my face between her thighs, putting my mouth on her and sucking on sweetness.
Her hips move to meet my mouth.
“Fuck.” She pants heavily her hand wrapping into my hair and pushing my head back.
I let her push me back onto the floor and climb on top of me.
She grabs my cock in her hand and adjusts my tip to meet her entrance before sinking onto it.
A small sound comes from my chest as her back arches the way it always does and she starts to ride across my cock.
I arch my back to push farther into her sweetness.
My hands find their way up her thighs, her hips, her perfect full waist to palm her breasts.
Her pace picks up as she slides over my length her hands coming up to cover mine.
Her movements become harder before her heavy breaths turn into small moans and her body shudders as she slows.
The wet tightness on my cock drains my balls into her cunt.
~
I put on boxers.
Minthe puts on a silk nightgown, and climbs into the bed in front of me handing me the hairbrush.
“Good girl baby.” I kiss her shoulder in approval.
I brush her breast length hair from top to bottom before she puts the brush on the nightstand and turns into me as she always does and falls into a deep sleep.
~
As the morning arrives I look over to see Minthe half covered in the sheet.
Her gown had fallen slightly off her shoulder in the night and her perfect breast was exposed, her nipple hard from the air.
I move myself over unable to resist and run my tongue across her nipple in rhythm.
A small sound comes sleepily from her. She doesn’t wake, but her back arches slightly to meet my tongue.
I move my mouth to cover her nipple and move my hand to palm the other through the nightgown.
Her hand moves up to stroke my hair.
“Does daddy want to feed?” Her voice comes sleepily.
I bite softly to the skin of her breast as she rolls over to press herself against me holding me to her breast like a small child.
We remain with me sucking her nipples for a stretch of time before I push her onto her back and ripping her gown before I sink into her soaking wet cunt.
I fucked her hard till she’s a quaking mess underneath me as she she comes twice.
I attach back to her breast as I continued to fuck her.
“Daddy I’m coming.” She shudders as she grips my head to her breast.
I growl as I come biting down rather harshly on her nipple digging myself bruisingly into her cunt.
“Ah fuck daddy.” She groans as she comes again.

Preview for Chapter 1 of 'Robbers and Roses'
Ok, since you guys have asked....here's the preview, I'm gonna warn you guys, it might look like crap...
'Ray POV:
A few days earlier….. I groaned, waking up to find I’m in the hospital, with monitors on me, first it was Marcus, then Bosco and finally Enson, I told Nick I wasn’t going to cuff up, go to jail, he shot me maybe 5 or 6 times before I collapsed on the ground, supposedly dead. My supposedly last thoughts were that I’d be reunited with my brothers for life, my GOD, was I wrong, why was I denied the opportunity to reunite with my fallen brothers? I needed to find out if at least Malia got her share of the money to take care of herself and Maloa. “Good, you’re awake…” I heard the doctor, a relative of Marcus’, say before coming in. “How long have I been out?” I asked before coughing hard from thirst, holy shit, my mouth was parched! “You’ve been out almost a month, Mr. Merrimen.” He explained, putting down a glass of water for me to drink. “You were brought here, barely dead, but we were able to get you back with some swift treatment, surgery and a lot of blood bags, you then were in a coma for a long while, but you were monitored closely.” He continued as I groaned, drinking my cup of water rolling my eyes before I looked to see if anything was lost or amputated, but to my relief, there wasn’t any damage, aside from bandages on my torso. I noticed him closing the door and shutting the blinds, as if wary of people watching us. “How are Enson’s girls doing? Did they get the money?” I asked, wondering if they were at least taken care of. “That’s…..that’s the problem, I’m afraid, no one got the money, in fact, all the police had found were bags of shredded money.” He solemnly informed me, warily looking at the heart monitor. “….What?!” I asked, shocked by what he told me. “You’re fucking kidding me, right?” I asked in an almost desperate tone, hoping that he was kidding, but when I noticed he was serious, it took everything I had to hold back my anger.'
'
Tessa POV:
Present day…
I eventually finished my food before throwing my stuff away in the trash and deciding to get some pastries from their bakery counter before I’d leave the store and hopefully head back home to rest and eventually sleep. I grabbed my stuff up and headed to the bakery counter to place my order for cookies to go, waiting in a line full of people as it was pretty much dinner hour, when people were either getting home from work or didn’t feel like cooking anything at their house. I walked up to the counter and ordered some sugar and chocolate chip cookies to-go before paying with my card, wondering where I’d be able to get at least a part-time job, if not full time, to keep me financially afloat. “Wonder if there’s a bookstore I’d be able to get a job in…” I mused to myself before I get the cookies and receipt and head along my way to the car to go back to the apartment. I got inside, put my things on the passenger seat and put my phone on the phone holder before turning the car on, looking to see who’s coming before driving off towards home, putting on some Within Temptation to go with the mood while being careful about the traffic. “I really hope I don’t end up bumping into some really cloggy traffic…” I fretted for a bit while driving along the road to my new home. I occasionally looked in my mirror to make sure nobody was following me so closely while listening to ‘Final Destination’ by Within Temptation, I had discovered them and Nightwish while I was in high school and still love both bands to this day! I stopped at a stoplight and looked at the numerous sights of what Los Angeles had to offer as a whole, wondering how my life was going to turn out for me as a new California resident, a number of things would have to be worked out, sure, but hopefully it wouldn’t be too tedious to do. “I wonder if I ought to go to a park or something over the weekend to get a better feel of the city.” I mused to myself, wondering what to do over the weekend as I knew I needed to get a California driver’s license and the like before I forgot about it completely.

so, was this good or does it need some more WORK done???

A Boy and His Doll (Ch. 1)
Title: A Boy and His Doll
Fandom: Barbie (2023)
Pairings: Ken/Original Character (M/M)
Ratings: General
Chapter: 1/?
Summary:
An underpaid middle school librarian gets the surprise of his life when his childhood doll waltzes out of Barbie Land and into his workplace. When the two reconnect, both start to realize they have been chasing the wrong things in life.
A/N:
This is singlehandedly the most indulgent thing I've ever written. I have selfshipped since I was a kid, yet Ken has blown every other crush out of the water. He means the world to me and I hope this fic can be a glimpse into why I adore him so much!
Quietly shelving books that preteens had shoved in various nooks and crannies around the library, things almost seemed peaceful for once. It was just before the final bell was due to ring and everything was finally quiet since class after class had descended upon the tiny library like wolves. The teachers tried their best to handle the large class sizes in an environment outside of the classroom and, well… At least there wasn't a ton of trash to clean up today. Just ripped up books that would either have to be taped up again or tossed in the ever-growing destroy pile.
Why were kids so destructive these days? Oswald sighed to himself as he ran his fingers along another torn cover. He didn't blame the kids, really. Junior high was rough, after all, and he certainly knew that the larger class sizes each year meant that so many of these kids were falling behind. Sometimes he wished he had pursued that teaching credential like he had dreamt of since he was young. That was a far and distant dream nowadays. Many of those silly childhood dreams were. Teacher. Cartoonist. Writer. This job barely paid the rent in Los Angeles, adding teacher expenses alongside student loans would be the final thing that would send him living in his car.
[Continue Reading or Read on AO3!]
The young librarian plopped down in his shoddy swivel chair to begin the process of rebinding all the destroyed books now piled up like an unstable mountain on his desk. It already took him through his lunch hour earlier, so he would just spend the rest of the day working on the daunting task. Somewhere in the faculty fridge, his salad was only getting more wilted and pathetic. It could wait. If he didn't do this now, it would just be another project to work on for hours after school and he loathed staying too late. Classifieds like him with no teaching degree weren't exactly encouraged to have more hours than what was on the schedule and the school had already warned him that there was plenty of time in the day to get all his job duties done.
Oz rolled his eyes at the thought. Administration was just so out of touch with what actually made the school run. When you get paid enough money, you stop caring if kids actually are thriving in public education or not. He let out a soft sigh as he booted up what was now considered an antique: the old Cover One machine. Lazily, he reached around in his drawer for his X-acto knife and gave a blank stare as he pulled it out. No blade. Seriously? How these little thieves got into his locked drawers was seriously impressive, yet mildly infuriating.
"Just take the whole thing next time," he muttered under his breath while reaching for his bag. Years of art supplies were stashed away in there, so he held his breath in prayer for a blade refill. "Shit!"
Of course it was loose. When did he ever have the common sense to put things in their proper cases? He carefully pulled the blade out and was thankful that the cut wasn't deep enough to bleed for more than a few seconds. A quick sucking on the tip of his index finger would heal him enough. Into the holder the blade went and Oz was back at the task of dissecting this book apart. As the blade sliced through the cover, severing it from the spine, Oswald winced. He was always so careful with his own books, always keeping them pristine while reading and never dared to even dog-ear the pages, he felt a bit guilty for the inanimate object he was holding. Hopefully books couldn't feel being tossed around and ripped apart. So many of them sat lonely and untouched on the shelves that he wondered which was a worse fate for something designed to be helpful to humans.
The librarian hummed to himself as he carefully cut off the dust cover before preparing a piece of adhesive to slide against the now bare spine. With the Cover One now warmed up, Oz delicately wrapped the book in wax paper before placing it in the machine. He firmly held the book steady until there were a few beeps signaling that it was done. Out the book came, almost for a breath of air, before he plopped it back in to let it settle for the next eleven minutes. He mused that he could try and fix some of the paperbacks while waiting for it to cool off when he heard the thick library door push open.
Figuring that it was one of the quiet kids coming in to retreat from the chaos of class dismissal, Oz’s face softened into a smile while he stood from his seat to greet them. However, when he saw the fully grown figure in a… cowboy costume? Oz paused. Having adults on campus wasn't unheard of, there were in fact many parents on a daily basis who came in and out even though they really should have stricter security measures at the school. But this person didn't really look like a parent trying to pick their kid up from school.
Was there an assembly Oz had forgotten about? Some weird yo-yo man teaching tricks to bored kids even in this day and age? Or maybe he was a cowboy teaching kids for a career day or something? But that costume didn't scream a real, genuine cowboy. Oz had grown up with vaqueros in Gilroy, watching them skillfully take care of the farmlands out there. And they did not look like this delicate, untouched pretty boy who had just strutted in.
Curiously, he elected to watch the stranger for the time being as nothing about the man really warranted him to freak out quite yet. It was actually a nice surprise. Oz sat back down in his chair and continued to work on his book repairs, his emerald eyes flashing up every now and then to see what the cowboy was up to. The man looked lost, like he had never been in a library before. He was staring at the ends of the isles, desperately searching for where a certain subject would be. Alright, he was starting to look pathetic enough that Oz had to help him out.
"Can I help you?" he inquired, sneaking up behind the cowboy.
There was a soft yelp from the blonde before he whipped around, baby blue eyes wide in fright. Oz was looked up and down before the stranger stood back up at his full height, eyes narrowed.
"You must be the keeper of these books?"
The question sounded almost impressed. Oz, obviously amused, gave a small nod.
"The one and only. What can I help you find?"
That caused the cowboy to look more relieved as a wide smile stretched across his goofy looking face.
"I'd like your books about men, please."
Oh. Oh? Well that was interesting. Was this man…? No, no. No need to make speculations. Just because Oz was gay didn't mean that every guy was. Though, with that outfit…
Oz shook the thought from his mind quickly, not wanting to assume that this pretty man was talking about the wide selection of queer books they had. He led the man to the non-fiction section before turning his head back up at him.
"Well, you'll have a lot to pick from, but I'd start here. Try the biographies and autobiographies if it gets too overwhelming," the ginger haired man offered with a smile. "If you have a better idea of… men, well, I can help you narrow it down."
The cowboy scanned the books for a moment, still seeming so puzzled. Oz might have to hold his hand through the entire library process wouldn't he?
"Do you have books about… the patriarchy?"
Oz blinked in surprise. Huh. Yeah, this guy was a weird one. Didn’t exactly scream incel but the request was a bit amusing coming from a handsome boy. He quickly walked down the isles to the war section and pointed out a few very outdated pieces of literature the school still somehow hung onto. The man ran his index finger along the spines before grabbing a few that interested him. Pleased with his selection, he beamed at Oswald. There was something charming and almost innocent the way he smiled. Like a proud child picking out their first book. Oz couldn’t help but feel a flutter in his heart at that.
"How about horses?"
Now that was a normal request. Fitting for the cowboy! Oz returned the smile and showed the cowboy their small selection. Wasn’t anything fancy, really. Perhaps an elementary school would have a wider selection. Back when he was a horse girl, that was the ultimate treasure trove of knowledge. Middleschoolers didn’t care about that sort of thing too much. ’That stuff’s for babies’ would be the usual complaint. So, the school barely kept anything fun in stock. Booooring! A total snoozeville. It’s like no kid could harbour a special interest anymore.
Oswald carefully pulled out the only book that was specific to horses and watched the man’s eyes go wide. Eager hands snatched it up, thumbs dancing along the cover as if he was trying to actually pet the horses plastered all over the book. That goofy smile never faded from the stranger even for a second.
“Yes! Yes…” The man was giggling. “This is perfect - do I have to pay for these?”
He suddenly looked very worried, full of cautious optimism searching Oz’s face for an answer while protectively clutching the handful of books to his chest. Oz let out a soft chuckle and shook his head.
“Normally you’d need a library card but, uh, you’re not a student. ‘sides, no one will miss those books if you took them. I think the last time anyone even looked at those books was more than a decade ago. They’d probably end up in a landfill soon anyways.” Playfully, he shot the cowboy a wink and pressed his index finger to his own lips. “Just keep quiet about it, ‘kay?”
There was that sweet smile again followed by frantic nodding.
“Of course! Your secret is safe with me, bookkeeper.”
“School librarian, but I kinda like bookkeeper better,” Oz laughed.
“Well, bookkeeper, I shall take these fine books and bid you ado,” the cowboy grinned, tipping his hat to Oz.
As the cowboy turned to leave, Oz reached out to grab his hand. It was so instinctual - like he was afraid of saying goodbye to this stranger. He couldn’t just let him go so easily. Maybe he could ask him what his deal was. Anything to spend another minute with him.
When their fingers grazed against each other, his mind exploded with visions that suddenly froze every muscle in his body and completely immobilized him.
Visions of him being very little with a doll in his hands. The only doll he ever had growing up. Ken. His Ken doll that he found in a pile of cheap toys at the flea market his family vended at. The one that caught his eye underneath the mountain of stuffed animals he normally would jump at the chance to pick through. Still in his tattered box. Oz never thought he’d be able to afford something so nice. His usual toys were old and discarded ones no longer wanted by their owners. Broken, unbranded, or simply just cheap fast food toys that other children grew tired of. The kind old lady selling the doll had given it to him for all the change he had rattling around in his pocket that day once she saw the quiet child’s nervous excitement just holding the box.
How very careful he was taking such an exquisite toy out of the box. Delicately opening the packaging and saving what he could before holding Ken tightly against his chest. Tears had rolled down his cheeks from just how happy he was to own something so nice. A little dollie all of his own. He’d be oh so careful to love and cherish this Ken for as long as he could!
They were inseparable. Ken was always in his coat pocket wherever he went. Despite being so young, Oz made sure to play with his toys as gingerly as possible. Ken was handled especially tenderly. Always getting a nice long bath in the sink after spending the whole day outside. Then getting tucked into a makeshift bed made out of tissues or scraps of fabric samples Oz’s mom let him have. All set up nice and cozy on the dresser next to his own bed so that he could keep Ken closeby. With Ken around, nightmares didn’t stand a chance.
Memories like this had been long locked away by Oz’s deep-rooted trauma. Yet now they were pouring in uncontrollably.
“Ken?” Oswald’s voice cracked as tears flooded his vision. It was so soft and uncertain. Surely this was a dream. It couldn’t be his Ken, right?
It looked like Ken had been hit with the same realization. His twinkling blue eyes were wide like a deer in the headlights as he searched Oz’s face. Immediately, his arms were around Oswald, holding him tightly. A laugh bubbled up from him and he just kept squeezing. So afraid to let go.
A memory. Ken had a memory! He wasn’t sure if he ever had one before, but it felt so nice. Brand new, a bit scary, but… he could feel something deep inside him that he had never felt before. The only thing he could compare it to was the feeling he had been chasing whenever Barbie looked at him. What was that funny feeling that made him feel so full?
“Oz! Wow!” He couldn’t stop himself from letting out excited little laughs of disbelief. “Is that really you? Look at how much you’ve grown…”
Clutching onto his old friend, Oswald was overcome with emotion. His smile was wide and shaky as he began to sob softly into Ken’s shoulder. Those were words he always craved to hear from loved ones since his transition. No one had ever said something so sweet to him.
Worried that he had upset his dear friend, Ken pulled back enough to closely examine the weeping man. Oz wasn’t frowning, no there was still a smile on his face, but why did he cry? Was he not happy to see him? Had he said something wrong?
“You should be standing in my curio cabinet at home,” Oz’s voice cracked, teary eyes looking up at his doll. “How…”
“You kept me?” It was Ken’s turn to be surprised.
“Of course I did.” Carefully, as if he were afraid that Ken would disappear like a fading dream, Oz cupped his doll’s cheek. “I tried to keep all my toys that my family didn’t haul off without me knowing.”
Family.
Ken remembered those people - they weren’t very nice. As the memories continued to trickle into his plastic brain, he could recall the nights Oz would cry after being berated by his aunt and uncle specifically. He had been so scared after his parents passed away. Hugging Ken close to him every night even though he was all grown up. How desperately Ken wanted to hug him back and tell him he was okay. To protect his boy. He could feel that protective surge swell in his chest, arms tightening his hold onto Oswald. Now he could properly hold his boy.
It was an unfamiliar feeling to be held like this. Sure, Oz gave plenty of hugs to his friends even as an adult. This was far different from that. His body tensed up for a moment like a frightened prey animal unable to move. However, the longer they stood in the embrace, he felt himself relax into Ken’s touch. The tears couldn’t stop themselves as soon as they cascaded back down his cheeks. Safe. For the first time in more than a decade, Oz felt safe.
“I’m so happy I found you again,” Ken murmured, dipping his head down to rest against Oz's.
“How is this possible, Ken? I - I’m not having one of those hallucinations again, right?” Nervously, the librarian pulled away so that he could stare into Ken’s eyes. It was so bizarre that Ken looked so human and yet still very dollike. “You feel real.”
“I am real!” Ken puffed out his chest and gave a bit of a flex to show off. “Does this not totally look real?”
There was a giggle from Oz as he placed a hand on the firm bicep that was being showcased. The fact that Ken was such a show-off was rather charming, he couldn’t lie. A true himbo like the human had always imagined.
“C’mon, dollie. I didn’t mean it like that.” He gave him a reassuring pat on his arm. “You know that my brain plays tricks on me.”
Ken’s boisterous behaviour faltered for a moment as he looked at his boy.
“You still see those… monsters?” he quietly asked.
“Sometimes. It’s not as scary like it was back then.” Oz gave a sheepish smile, feeling bad that he was causing Ken to worry so much. “I take medication to help now.”
Those arms were back around him, pulling him in for another hug.
“I won’t let them get to you. I can fight them for you now!”
How could Ken so easily make all the years of trauma slip away like it was nothing? Oz had been fighting for so long on his own, trying to make a life for himself in this crazy world. And now his doll was human-sized and a walking, talking being that somehow waltzed back into his life? He didn’t believe in fate. But this was one hell of a coincidence.
“But how are you here, Ken? I don’t understand.”
“That’s easy! Barbie was trying to find the little girl who was playing with her. Something about cellulite - whatever that is. Lots of transportation. And now we’re here in the Real World!”
Staring at him like he grew a second head, Oz cocked his head to the side.
“Barbie? I never had a Barbie. Did you… find a Barbie?”
Suddenly, Ken felt very warm. His face was red hot! That was weird. He was plastic. Was this another funny feeling he didn’t quite understand?
“Well, yeah. It’s Barbie and Ken, you know?”
Oz’s face softened at that.
“That’s sweet. My Ken has a Barbie. Huh.”
“Wh-what?” That blush was growing deeper. Ken looked nervous. But that funny feeling was growing when Oz called him his Ken.
“Nothin’. ’s just cute that you found your girlfriend. Is she here too?” He peeked out the window of the library, glancing through the crowds of preteens. Nothing loud and pink out there.
“She’s uh. Doing her own thing.”
Oz’s brow shot upwards and he tried his best to suppress his grin.
“Well, don’t let me keep you, Ken. Go on, go to her.” He pulled away from his doll, heart feeling achy at the thought of Ken leaving. But if Ken had a Barbie, he wasn’t going to keep him from her. Looks like his doll didn’t need him anymore.
It was Ken’s turn to grab Oz’s hand.
“I wanna stay with you longer. I’m sure she’ll be fine.” It was surprising to Ken that he was saying all this. Normally, he’d do anything to trail in Barbie’s shadow in the hopes she’d so much as look at him. But that didn’t seem to interest him right now. Not with his boy right in front of him. Something was telling him that he needed to stay with Oswald. “Please?”
Oz couldn’t say no to such a sweet face. How could anyone?
“Okay, okay. You’re really twistin’ my arm here,” he joked. Ken immediately let go, panic on his face. “Oh, no! I was just teasing! It’s an expression.”
The librarian turned his head to the stack of books on his desk. He should have stayed to finish the daunting work and not have even more on his plate for the next day, but…
Oh, come on! His childhood doll springs to life and he’s just supposed to go back to his mundane day job? Nuh-uh. He was going to spend as much time as he could with Ken in case he was plucked away back to wherever the hell he came from.
“If you give me ten minutes, I’ll wrap up everything here and maybe we could…” He trailed off, rubbing the back of his head nervously. “Go back to my apartment or something?”
Ken lit up at that. Like an excitable dog, he was practically bouncing up and down. Then he realized he may be looking very uncool and tried to stand up straight to posture himself as calm and collected.
“That would be rad.”
“You can go over to those bean bags and chill for a bit - I’m sure you wanna read those new books you got.” Oz smiled, pointing to a circle of janky bean bag chairs that had seen much better years.
Oh right. The books. Ken had almost forgotten about the books he was carrying, fingers curling against the thick spines of each one. Somehow, he wasn’t that intrigued to explore the topics of this world that he had been so curious about not even ten minutes ago. That didn’t matter to him when Oswald was right there.
“I can read that stuff later,” he shrugged. “No big deal.”
Oz tried to bite back a laugh at the fact that Ken was trying to act so smooth after nearly bursting at the seams getting these books just a short bit ago. Was he wanting to impress Oswald now? What a silly doll. He simply gave a little nod and began to tidy up the books he had been rebinding, taking notice as Ken shuffled closer to try and take a peek. Oz didn’t mind the audience. Having his doll near him felt safe. A warm feeling that pooled in his belly that he hadn’t felt in so long. Maybe Ken could stick around longer before he went back to his dollhouse. Did Ken have a dollhouse? He’d have to ask a million questions about where Ken came from when they got back home.
The little flutters in his chest with Ken nearby were so bizarre. Was it excitement? Nervousness? There was a frenzy of emotions running through him all at once due to the fact that his doll was lifesize and following him around like a lost puppy. Such a sweet face. He could feel his own face grow warm with the threat of blush rising to his cheeks. Shit, when he went red, it was so painfully obvious! So he tried to hide his face with his long copper locks of hair and turn away from Ken as much as possible when tidying up. Maybe since Ken was so oblivious he wouldn’t notice his human getting flustered.
And he didn’t, thankfully. The doll was too occupied with watching what Oz was doing with his hands. How gentle they were with the tattered books lining his desk. Ken smiled to himself. Of course his boy was careful - he remembered how well taken care of he was when he was Oz’s doll. There was something swirling around in his own chest at the thought of it. Kens were merely accessories for Barbies and not typically played with on their own. Yet, with all the memories filling him, he now knew that he had been loved by his human. Looks like it wasn’t just Barbie that had someone! His half smirk was wide on his face with just how smug he felt. There was someone out there that loved Ken for being Ken. Wow!
“What’s that look for?” Oz chuckled, bag slung over his shoulder and car keys in hand as soon as he walked back up to Ken.
“Nothing!” Ken lied. Had to still play it cool. Couldn’t mess this chance up! “Just… ready for our hangout sesh.”
Oswald looked skeptically at Ken before he absentmindedly reached for the doll’s free hand. Their fingers laced together and Oz was pulling him to the door. It felt so natural that neither of them had questioned how sudden this was. Just bashful glimpses at one another like two shy kids holding hands for the first time.
“Alright, cowboy. Let’s go home.”

The Dread Lingers
Start | Prev
The fear is clinging to you like tree sap, tacky and unpleasant. Still, you find yourself getting ready for the day, almost as if on auto pilot.
Once you and Pat are both ready, you carry your supplies and Theo’s paint out into the car.
“We’re picking up breakfast on our way. Can you ask Theo what he wants?” Pat says as they get into the driver’s seat.
You send a text after you get your seatbelt on.
The silence grates on you like sandpaper, making you feel raw.
You put some music on without asking.
Pat doesn’t seem to mind.
“Theo says he’s not hungry,” you relay once you get a response.
Pat snorts. “What am I going to do with you kids,” they say, shaking their head. “Tell him I insist. He can eat it later when he is hungry,” Pat says like they aren’t the one being weird.
You frown, but send another text.
“Why do you do that?” you ask.
“Do what?”
“Insist on feeding people? Theo doesn’t need to eat anymore, and he’s not even hungry,” you point out.
Pat doesn’t answer for a long time. Theo texts back, but you don’t look at it yet.
“My mamá always told me that the best way to show someone you care about them is to make sure they’re well fed. Ghosts might not need to eat, but they deserve to be cared for nonetheless,” they say.
That’s… Despite how annoying it’s been for you personally, that’s very sweet.
“Theo says he’ll accept black tea and some sort of baked good if we are going to a place that has them,” you say instead of continuing the conversation at hand.
“We’ll have to make sure we go somewhere that has them, then,” Pat says.
You let the conversation drop there.
Pat can focus on driving, and you can focus on not feeling anything or thinking about anything too hard.
Because you feel like a lit match and everything you’re avoiding is an oil slick.
Forget about tearing the canvas, you think you’d burn the whole stack if you don’t keep this under control.
You focus on the music instead.
The next song that comes on is AFI’s of Greetings and Goodbyes. Pat sighs, but you can’t tell if they’re side-eyeing you or not through their sunglasses.
You don’t skip the song. If they want different music they can say so.
You choose to stay in the car while Pat goes in and gets the food.
“Do you have any preference on what I get you?” Pat asks, already standing outside the car.
“No.” You really don’t care.
Then you remember something.
“Oh, wait. Don’t forget to get some sugar for Theo’s tea,” you call out the rolled down window.
Pat gives you a thumbs up without turning around as they walk into the coffee shop.
And oh, there’s a little mystery you can think about instead of your own impending doom.
How did you know that Theo liked his tea sweet?
At the time you had brushed it off as a hunch. But you’re starting to think maybe it has something to do with the shadow. It made you sweet tea in the exact same manner in that kitchen. You copied it’s movements when making tea there yourself.
Is it a coincidence that Theo also likes his tea sweet? Or is that something that the shadow knew as a result of possessing Theo?
The smell of tobacco rouses you from your thoughts.
“Ah. Busted,” Pat says with a smile that is not even one bit apologetic.
“I was hoping you’d stay zoned out long enough for me to not get an earful,” they say.
They’re standing outside the car, smoking.
“Pat,” you say flatly.
They just shrug, taking their time to finish their cigarette.
“What about breakfast?” you ask.
“The bag’s on the floor in the back seat,” they say. A glance back there confirms it. There’s one of those cardboard drink holders, too.
“I’ll still be warm by the time we get to Theo’s. And if it’s not, you can yell at me then,” they say, easygoing as they ever are.
You give them a look, but don’t comment further on it.
Pat gets back into the car, putting their cigarette butt into the trash bag they keep on the back of their seat.
“You said you’d answer my questions now,” you start as they get buckled back in.
Pat freezes for a moment. “I did…” they say, sounding suspicious. They pull out of the parking lot.
“What do you know about possession? Like, how does it work?”
Pat blows out a long breath. “We’re really hitting with the hard questions before 9 today, huh?” they complain, but there’s no real bite to it.
“Possession, as far as I know, and I don’t see much of it, is just like… A ghost puppetting the body of an alive person. And Ametrine has implied that if that goes on for too long it damages the soul of the living person, and if it does too much damage, the ghost gets to keep the body,” Pat explains.
“What happens to the other person in that case?”
Pat shrugs. “Dunno. I think it’s a little like what happens when a ghost gets exorcized. But I’ve never seen it happen, so that’s speculation.”
You absorb the new information without a word.
After a bit, Pat pipes up again.
“You know, that’s why I didn’t think it was likely that a ghost could get possessed,” they say.
“Oh?” you prompt, when they don’t continue right away.
“Yeah. Ghosts that you see around don’t actually have a physical body there to puppet. What we see as their body is just an illusory projection of the soul,” Pat finally elaborates, tapping their fingers against the steering wheel.
“But if a ghost could get into another ghost’s soul I guess they could puppet that? I think that would do a lot of damage though,” they say.
“Is the shadow hurting Theo by doing it?” you ask, concerned.
“No idea. I know very little about this, and probably even less than I thought I did, considering that one of the fundamental facts about ghosts I knew proved to be false,” they say with a sigh.
“Was it really that important to you?” you ask.
“Yeah. I like knowing things, and I like being sure of things. If you woke up tomorrow and someone like, disproved that birds use their wings to fly and instead were just levitating, you might be upset too,” Pat says.
“Is that really the same thing?”
Pat sighs again. “Probably not? But I can’t think of a good analogy for it. And honestly, I’m not actually as upset about it as I should be. Instead I’m upset because I have this weird sense that I’ve known it all along.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that instead of the shock and uneasiness that comes from having a foundational truth upended, I feel like I would if I’d always known it. Not like I forgot and then remembered, either. It’s weird and I don’t like it,” they whine.
“That does sound unpleasant,” you try to sound comforting.
“It is,” they say. “Anyway. Back to your shadow friend. Are you sure that you can trust them? If they’re hurting Theo, there’s no saying that they wouldn’t hurt you too, given the chance,” they cation.
You shake your head. “I really don’t think the shadow would do that.”
Pat sighs and shrugs. “If you say so. They could always be posing as a guardian for nefarious purposes, but I’ll trust your judgement on this one,” they relent.
As you pull into Theo’s driveway, it strikes you as odd that it always seems to take you exactly as long to drive to a place as necessary to have whatever conversation you and Pat happen to be having.
“You take Theo’s presents and go knock, I’ll gather up breakfast and the murder board stuff, okay?” Pat says as they put the car in park.
“You’re going to carry all of that by yourself?”
They consider it. “Okay, you can take the breakfast stuff in too, if you can manage it.”
“Sure.”
Both of you get out of the car, and you head up the walk with your stuff in hand.
The cabin feels like it’s smiling menacingly at you. You ignore that in favor of knocking on the door. You have to shuffle the stuff around to get a free hand, but you manage it in the end.
Theo answers the door rather quickly.
“Hello, Sylv,” Theo greets with a smile. “Here, let me help you with that,” he says, offering to take something from you.
“Hi… thanks,” you say, handing him the drink holder.
“Ah, is Pat not also here?” he asks.
“No, I’m here. Just needed to bring in our mystery solving supplies,” Pat calls as they come up the walk with an armful of cork board and a bag of art supplies in addition to their purse.
“Oh! Let me help you with that,” Theo says, and moves around you to go help them.
“Nonsense, I’ve got it just fine. Why don’t you go help Sylv set up breakfast wherever we’ll be working,” Pat says, brushing off the offer.
“Oh, okay,” Theo says with a nod. He comes back over to you and shows you inside to the living room. There are three chairs in there now. It seems Theo brought his computer chair downstairs.
Theo sets the drinks down on the coffee table. “Would you like to set your things down as well?” he asks.
You shrug and set the bag with the breakfast stuff down.
Pat sets the board down leaning up against the coffee table once they get in.
You aren’t sure what to do with the paint, so you just stand there for a second.
Pat gives you a meaningful look, pointing with their eyes over at Theo.
“Um. These are for you,” you say, offering him the bag.
“Oh?” he says, taking it, and then “Oh!” as he looks inside. “Are these-” “So you can finish your painting,” you say.
Theo’s face goes through a series of expressions, but he settles on something that looks bittersweet. “That’s so… thank you, both of you,” he says.
“Don’t sweat it. That’s what friends are for,” Pat says.
They let the sweet moment rest for a full half a minute before saying. “Now, before we get started on mystery solving, we need to have breakfast,”
“Ah, but-”
“I’m not-”
Pat cuts both of you off. “Okay, well I need to eat breakfast and I will feel very awkward about eating all by myself while the two of you watch so you’re going to have to humor me,” they say in a tone that brooks no argument.
“... Well. In that case, I suppose I will say thank you for the breakfast?” Theo hedges.
Pat gives him a big smile. “Thank you.”
You don’t say anything, but you do accept the muffin and coffee that Pat foists upon you.
“Here, for your tea,” Pat says, handing Theo several sugar packets. “Oh. Thank you,” Theo says. “Um. Is there… really any point to it, if I can’t taste it though?” he asks.
Pat shrugs. “I imagine I’d still want to do things they way I like to do them even if I couldn’t sense some aspect of it anymore, but that’s just me. Do what you want... A long as it isn’t skipping meals,” they say.
You try not to laugh. That could practically be Pat’s motto, you think.

hey i need to know what cars austin hanna's children canonically drive. thank's.
yayyyyy i love assigning cars to muses ^_^ i'm not as good at these sort of lists as u but i'm gonna try hard and really believe in myself and you're gonna smile and nod at all of it because what;s the alternative? to challenge me and look like a total bitch? exactly.
cora i want to say drives something like a 2017 kia forte, in the dark reddish maroon color. she bought it second hand after crashing her former and first car, an older pontiac sunfire. it was also secondhand and shitty, but she insisted on saving and spending all on her own. she could've had something better, but unfortunately has a brain disease that makes her repel her loving and helpful parents.
ezra strikes me as a station wagon guy. i think he could have wanted to make it happen on his own, in which case i see him in something like a 2000s subaru outback in the green color. austin clapped him on the shoulder for that one. if you see him in something more modern, i'm thinking a white 2019 tiguan.
zoe is a jeep renegade girlie, in graphite grey (i think? i toyed with black and white and the blue color). i'm thinking something more generic like the grey because she's for sure leasing it on her teacher's salary. maybe leasing to buy, but definitely leasing. she's the sort of girl that has decorative coasters in her cup holders and some macrame something orother hanging from her rearview. she's got a sparkly bath and body works fragrance holder on her driver's side visor and she's always got a fresh warm vanilla sugar insert on deck
maisyn drives a 2009 ford focus, in the blue/grey sort of color. there's a taco bell 5-layer burrito stain on the upholstery, right where she dropped in between her legs eating one-handed on the road. she's got a fat stack of CDs that are always spilling out of her center console, the cases of many having cracks in the plastic for being stepped on in her passenger seat. when people get in her car, she has to get out and remove the canvas totes and birkenstocks tossed into and never removed from her back seat along with the week-old dunkin' bag she was using to collect trash like napkins and straw rappers. she does this outside of people's houses, btw. doesn't prepare in advance.
ayla drives a mercedes gle coupe, in maybe a white or a red depending on how bougie we see her. this is all based off of you saying she appreciates the name brand and sensuality of a dove bar. we've never discussed her but i love your characterization. she's the kim kardashian of this family; she's hot and she's got main character syndrome. you know she feels hot as hell driving around in her little black slit sunglasses. she's got an off-white flower hair clip clapsed to her passenger side mirror, whole car smells like expensive perfume and her marc jacobs tote bag is perpetually riding shotgun. she uses apple carplay to stream music and be alerted to new text messages, which she replies to by manually texting and driving. fortunately, she's got decently quick reflexes (years of practice?) so she hasn't yet rear-ended anyone doing so, but she's definitely had a few close calls.
rylan oh you know he drives a hybrid of some sort (again based on waht you said about him and ice cream) and won't let anyone forget it. maybe a 2017-ish toyota prius prime. austin went with him to help pick it out; talked a big game about helping him navigate the dealership, but ultimately ended up folding to an outrageous offer too soon. fortunately, rylan walked in there with a plan and was able to negotiate for himself. austin was so proud, and when he recounted the story to camryn later, he claimed it was his plan all along to see how the kid did for himself.
orla is a only a baby, so jot that down. maybe she's a late bloomer or maybe she's failing to launch, but i do think she's indulged by camryn and austin a little. they're adamant they're not enabling her, because she has had stuff going on and benefits from the healthy, cozy environment in the hanna home. she doesn't have a car of her own, but borrows her parents' when she needs to get around. she's scratched up the honda pilot in the past, so her privileges have officially been revoked per austin. i think they're a two-car household and i could see camryn with something cute and sleek like maybe a black mazda 3, especially as the kids are older and she needs to transport less. that one is much easier for orla to navigate in.

I finally finished the little bag I was working on! It was supposed to be a drawstring bag for my work headphones, but I ended up finding the original bag for them that I had lost. I also accidentally sewed the string into the bag while fixing the top loop. So now it will make a cute little trash bag holder in my car :)

Keeping Your Car Interior Clean with Messy Kids
Tumblr media
You probably want the relationship between messy kids and your clean car to be better… luckily it can be! We know how it starts though: after that first half-eaten raisin bounces from their mouths to the cup holders to the dirt on your floor mats, things start to get unclean pretty fast. Before you know it, there’s water sloshing around the center console and sticky-fingered children spinning around in their seats to make handprints no DIY or professional wash can resolve.
We’re here to tell you that there are ways to keep the interior fresh, safe (even safer when you have car insurance) and clutter-free. The trick is this: you have to be prepared by organizing, stocking cleaning resources, and even to go so far as creating a “clean culture” (more on this later!) to give your vehicle the best chance of surviving the trail young people can leave behind.
You and your fellow auto owners can be ready to change the clean-car-meets-messy-kids dynamic. The following tips range from spills to empathy as you preserve the interior of your car.
Have a Place for Everything
As a parent, you likely spend a lot of time trying to get your kids to not do something poorly… did you know you can re-route that behavior by empowering them to do something else well?
Giving items you are packing – such as travel games, wet wipes, tools, and snacks – a place or box to live in can encourage children to put them back where they belong. For instance, according to The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, research suggests including chores in a child’s routine as early as age three can be beneficial.
Now, let’s explore exactly what goes where!
1. Car Organizers
Organizers are  containers, compartments, or dividers that separate the inside of your automobile into more manageable sections. For example, use storage bags to hang behind your seats.  You can organize items such as snacks, books, and toys (plus, they are easy to reach when kids are buckled up in the back). Keeping your kids entertained by having their favorite items accessible.
You can keep the vehicle’s interior clean simply by having a  plastic bag for trash and a cloth bag for dirty shoes.  By having organizers on hand, you’ll have more control over keeping your car – and kids! – tidy.
2. Keep Loose Change Organized
Loose change is just one of many things that can create a chaotic look in your automobile. Depending on your child’s age, it can also be a choking hazard. Keep coins  in a central location such as  a little purse or a box with a latch inside your glove compartment. That way, all your money can stay in one spot and is reachable when you pass through tolls or a drive-thru  (no more searching around the door panels and in the front seats for that extra 25 cents).
3. Keep Food Sealed
First, it is important to mention that food can easily go bad when exposed to hot temperatures. That said, with kids you may opt for more enduring snack options, such as crackers, which need to be sealed. You can seal food with Tupperware, beeswax food wraps, or even in their original packaging with little clasps to close it.
Sealing food keeps treats fresh and it also sends the message to your children that there is a time and place to eat. If food is left out in the open, kids are more likely to just keep eating it as well as not notice if a particular food has gone stale. Don’t let old food become part of the clutter but do make room for healthy, properly sealed snacks.
If you decide to keep food in your ride, we also recommend having water bottles to stay hydrated, too. And, to avoid the losing battle of snack crumbs gone wrong, go ahead and keep paper towels and a mini vacuum cleaner nearby as well.
Things You Must Have in Your Car
At this point, we’ve walked you through things you could have, but now we’re getting to the really good part of things you must have. These must-haves are for any parent of messy kids who are ready to end their dirty streak once and for all.
·         Trash Can
When you don’t have a designated trash can, your entire vehicle becomes one big receptacle. It may start out as dust, but your misplaced trash collection will soon include an old toothbrush, old sock, and used baby wipes without a trash can in sight. That said, our favorite vehicle-friendly trash cans have lids. Another way to really boost the success of trash cans is to empty them after each ride… yes, we do mean every single time. Trash has no place in your beautiful, clean car and by maintaining a trash can you also let your children know that this is a trash-free zone.
·         Silicone Cupcake Liners
Silicone cupcake liners work best when you use them to line your cup holders. Instead of allowing liquid and small things you drop to be forever lost in the area your cup should be, place the silicone cupcake liners there as both a protective barrier and a glove mitt. Silicone cupcake liners also come in wonderful colors that you can match to other major colors in your automobile.
·         Handheld Vacuum
Nowadays they make small-but-mighty handheld vacuums specifically designed for your car! Not only do they have various attachments to reach tough areas, they also have their own little USB charging cords that fit right into the charging ports of your vehicle. The only thing handheld vacuums can’t really solve are stains, pet hair, and mold, but we have ideas for those too, such as cleaning supplies and a lint roller.
·         Glove Compartment Essentials
Speaking of getting things cleaner and cleaner while teaching your children to stay organized at the same time, dedicating the glove compartment to special cleaning items is a win-win for both parties. Here are the essentials we know you’ll be thankful to have year-round:
Stash of napkins or rags
Antibacterial wipes or other cleaning products
Hand sanitizer
Swiffer duster
A mini expanding file to sort papers
Tumblr media
Create a Routine
Now that you have all you and your children need to keep the interior clean and organized, incorporating positive routines is the best way to reinforce the idea that your automobile isn’t a place for big messes. While you may not become detailers in one day, these new habits will keep your vehicle in good condition.
·         Clean Messes up Right Away
As soon as a mess of any kind happens – if you can find a safe place to pull over – you can use clean water, a foam brush or sponge, and a microfiber towel to help clean up. Making a habit of cleaning messes immediately can also help to discourage behavior that leads to making messes because your kids will see how much time and effort then goes into the removing of debris and grime.
·         Whatever You Bring In, You Must Also Bring Out
You may have heard the phrase “leave no trace” and it applies here as well: either take out the same items you bring into the vehicle and/or take out as many items as you bring in. Either way – create an even exchange of objects so that your auto doesn’t carry too many. The best part about bringing out whatever you bring in is that you can continue to empower your kids by kindly asking them to help you. Before long, don’t be surprised if you hear one of them say, “Is there anything I can bring home from the car today?”
·         Clean Your Shoes Before Stepping in the Car
Nothing can undo an expensive interior cleaning job like dirty shoes. With children especially, you may find shoe prints anywhere from formerly clean seats to hard surfaces! Take a few moments before entering the automobile to wipe down shoes (or remove child shoes entirely and place them into a simple plastic bag during the drive).
·         Shake Out Floor Mats Often
As an extra special tip, try shaking out your floor mats every time you exit your ride. With kids, it may be a bit difficult to do this in the back of the car or back seat each time, but at the very least, the front is possible.
·         Set Reminders to Maintain Your System
We know that being a busy parent can turn a well-intentioned cleaning routine into more stress, and that is why you should set reminders to maintain your system so that – over time – the new system becomes as natural as breathing. As your kids continue to witness your attempts at cleanliness, they will inherit those habits as well. In no time at all, you will be an entire family devoted to less messes and more fun drives.
Model It
There are many ways to show others – especially children – how to keep things neat in the car, but nothing compares to actually showing them!
Stop Using Your Car as Storage
We’ve helped bring to light a lot about tough stains, trash, organizing, and so on, but what we really want to add is this: stop storing bigger items in your ride! Bigger items can add weight, which will translate into using more gas. Beyond that, bigger items can get in the way of the space necessary to keep your kids safe inside. The easiest way to stop using your ride as storage is to create a separate storage space where anything you need to store can reside.
Encourage Positive Communication
At the end of the day, your car will be at its cleanest – yes, even with kids! – when you encourage positive communication about what it means to be clean, how to do it, and why it matters. For instance, educate your children on the concept that cleanliness means no food or trash thrown about, achieving that by using the trash bin and storing their snacks the right way, and that it matters because less time cleaning means more time having fun. You can even offer examples of having more fun in the automobile, such as listening to their favorite songs!
Offer choices
If you’re still having trouble keeping your automobile clean with messy kids, remember that empowerment will always prevail over punishment. Giving your child the choice to lint roll the seats or wipe the dashboard once per week is an easier way to get them to do at least one of those tasks willingly. If there is a certain messy behavior you wish to curb, take a moment to think about how you can frame it as a choice for your child.
Empathize
Finally, always keep in mind it can be really hard – even for adults – to keep things clean. There is always a chance that dirt and other things will be left behind after a drive, especially if you use it a lot and traverse different terrains. Practicing empathy and a level of grace when it comes to keeping your vehicle neat and tidy with messy kids will keep a positive energy around the act of cleaning, encouraging more and more of it over time.

Gonna blorbo this up tbh. Adding a read below cuz i got carried away, but click it if you want to read about my gajeel and levy headcannons
Levy phone: basic case, plain color probably probably blue or yellow, basic design at most, she likes when she can easily match it to outfits. Her background used to be team shadowgear, but became Lily when she and Gajeel started dating (sg is still her lockscreen). She 100% fills in as much of everyone's contact details as she can, shes got middle names, work numbers, emails, shes got everything.
Gajeel phone: he does not use a case for a worringly long time until Levy gets him one as a gift and he refuses to take it off his phone. He has a picture of Lily and Levy cuddled up as his background. He has one saved contact, Levy, the rest are just messages with phone numbers, when he gets a new phone he loses his ability to text anyone until they text him. Also his phone is 100% cracked.
Levy laptop: She has a case on it that she put a few stickers on. All of her files are neatly sorted into specific folders. Her keyboard is covered in crumbs from snacking while she works.
Gajeel laptop: he doesn't have one, he has a desktop, its old and barely works, refuses to get a new one and says he won't get a new one til this one stops working as he MacGyvers a fix to its latest issue.
Levy backpack: She keeps it really neat and also it weighs like 20 pounds because she keeps so many books on it. Its a cute canvas bag and she absolutely adores it. She has a little tuxedo cat charm.
Gajeel backpack: falling apart, bought the cheapest backpack he could find and used it for years, the zipper opens all the time, theres a hole thats been patched up with duct tape. He chewed through the little buckle straps it came with when he was bored.
Levy car: old as shit, shes spent more money on repairs than it would cost to get a better car, but this is her car! She doesn't want to learn a new one! The ac doesn't work and one of the windows wont go up if you put it down, but its her car. Theres a layer of trash on the passenger seat floor and thirty half empty waterbottles tossed in the back seat to make room in her cup holder for a fun drink.
Gajeel car: surprisingly nice, definitely second hand and a little janky, but he keeps it clean and working comfortably. His main motivation is that he gets motion sick if he isn't driving, but he doesn't want to tell people that. So he figures if his car is just decent enough people will be willing to let him drive when they carpool.
i think we as a society need to use cell phones/laptops/cars/backpacks to flesh out characters
