didnt wanna put this in the prev tags of the last posts but like. the whole egg subconscious desire to transition getting translated into fiction is sooooo funny. when i did homestuck rp at age 15 i was obsessed with this dystopian au based off i think some music video where society kept the gender roles of the 1950s and to rebel our characters would like sneak make up into the boys' dormitory or teaching girls how to box in underground rings even with the pearls still around their necks and the entire time i was like aha imagine having to live in a world where you're trapped by the gender roles you were born into! thank god I don't live like that <- about to learn some things about himself in 2-3 years

Didn’t make any of the sacred literary year end lists again, so I guess that makes me a dipshit loser who no one wants to kissy kissy for real. I know it’s stupid that I’m so snitty about getting left out the game of ookie cookie that the MFA “underground” seemingly exists to play on the last page of the calendar. Perhaps I should focus less on craft and more on cracking the code of what these jamokes have that I don’t (besides an overpriced overvalued degree they’ll be paying off thirty years after they’re dead [haha jk no loans for these trust fund twat muffins]). Maybe I should look up what this Wolf Margolies character had to do in order to get his name out ther…. oh.

Imomushi (suehiro maruo) (TRIGGER WARNING: ERO GURO MANGA)

I read this manga last night, if you’re familiar with ero guro you definitely know who suehiro maruo is. Imomushi is about a beautiful woman married to a man that is injured horribly in a war, he’s a soldier or whatever lol. He lost all of of his limbs, his face is disfigured and he can’t speak.

It’s based on a short story by ranpo edogawa, suehiro maruo has adapted some of his other works.

It really reminded me of Johnny got his gun, except much more psychosexual. And the story is centered on the wife. It somewhat reminded me of the sada abe incident as well, a particular shot of tokiko (our MC) laying by a corpse with its peepee definitely made me think of sada Abe, tokiko also looks just like her.

It’s extremely political, extremely in your face with its anti war messaging, but I think it’s cool how it focuses on how the mental health aspect of someone affected by the war that was not a part of it. My experience is obviously much different, but growing up with a veteran father that had extreme PTSD was extremely damaging.

It definitely in my opinion is far from being his most disturbing piece of work, but I think that makes it more powerful. It’s far more artistic and surreal than it is grotesquely erotic, as some of his other stories and art pieces are.
