#Too Many Plants

Apparently I am desperate for Cumplane.. i have too many ideas in my head right now (And can't work on any WIPs at the moment...)

So have a little list!

1: Tiny Cumplane aka the OGs get zapped with something and out pops 'younger versions' of themselves. But these little versions act differently... So the villains have the Author and his greatest fan/anti-fan running around driving them up the walls... Cumplane is just having fun and being terrors about it.

2: Lightning and Yogurt aka Shen Yuan wakes up back in the modern world being hauled to the hospital. Questions if it was all a dream, so the first thing he does is try to contact Airplane (once he is able to). Doesn't reach the man and he has been offline for a while according to his search. Worried he ends up talking to himself about his concern for Airplane when his hospital roommate, who just joined him after long extensive neuro surgery, pipes up. "How did you know that I got electrocuted by my computer, bro?"

3: Too Many Plants aka modern Cumplane where Shen Yuan meets an exhausted student assistant at a botanical garden who while obviously dead on his feet gives him the most interesting and knowledgeable tour he had ever been on. So he ends up trying to get in contact with the guy again and talk. (because he made plants of all things interesting not because he was cute!) Combine phone tag with email messages and you have poor Airplane trying to get a clear answer from Curious Plant guy if he is actually looking for a relationship or what. Also Cucumber-bro stop quoting Airplane on how plants work! He knows those lines he said them enough, let him write a smut book to pay his bills in peace!

4: Little Villains aka the opposite of Tiny Cumplane. Little versions of the OGs are running around demanding attention from our transmigrators who are dealing with questions about possible soul splitting (closest thing to what happened they guess), alternative timelines (nevermind, definitely this), or the possibility that these are their newfound offspring... That they had together because of hand wavy magic.... Airplane got an earfull because of that one. (OGs are now teaming up to make it seem like it's the last one. Just a little revenge~, surely their parents understand right~?)

Might go into more detail in their own posts.. which one do you want to hear about?

I have 24 houseplants in my living room. I just sat here and counted them all. The guinea pig room has about 4 in but they're graveyard ones - they are, in my opinion, unsavable.

hey can any snake special interest havers on this website tell me why all snakes dont have venom? is there some sort of hidden evolutionary cost to producing a magic liquid that does the work of killing stuff for you? because much like carnivorous plants that sounds pretty awesome and suspiciously devoid of possible drawbacks for the creature on paper.

this question comes courtesy of my emt textbook saying that all (wild) venomous snakes in the US will produce a bite that looks like two pinpricks, as opposed to nonvenomous snakes that will produce a horseshoe shaped bite. it says you can tell by looking at the bite if it might be dangerous or not using this distinction. is this true? and if so, are more teeth part of the price you pay for magic liquid that kills stuff for you?

Laimay day 5: modern AU

I had a bunch of meltdowns yesterday so my husband took me to see the ferns of the Sonoran desert. Here they are. You probably didn't know that the desert has ferns but it definitely does! They're super cool and adapted to high heat and little water. There are many species but we only found three right now. They like rocky outcroppings underneath trees and they frequently grow near seasonal creeks. Nobody grows these guys unfortunately. They're much more interesting than the ferns for sale in most nurseries, I think.

Here's the first fern. Pellaea truncata. Spiny Cliff Brake. It has a very unique look. Notice the bluish leaves that help handle excess light. There was a lot of this guy!

This fern was growing right next to the first! It's Myriopteris fendleri, we think, but we're not a hundred percent sure. Fendler's Lip Fern. These guys are a more traditional looking fern, but very small. Here's a pen for scale.

This one I found all by myself! A big milestone for a new fernhead! This is Myriopteris covillei. Coville's Lip Fern. Look at the back of the leaves! I think they recently made spores!

Anyway, I will keep you posted on my fern adventures. Sadly desert ferns are not much studied or cultivated by the native plant people. Not one of these are at any of the local botanical gardens. It's very sad.

Spleen et ideal

So lets see if tumblr lets me put this latest Dirty Donkey Art Prompt up. This time we played with new interpretations of the painting "Spleen et ideal" by Emil Carlos Schwabe. And I guess in this particular AU researcher and wilderness explorer Aziraphale just happened to stumble upon a great snake beast while tresding around some anicient ruins in the jungle.

I spent about 3 weeks in said jungle rendering *a lot* of plants. Putting a few of my favourites here but I've also put a high res version of the image on ao3 to let you zoom in and look at every leaf please. (Also unfortunately there's weird artefacts on thefull image here, since I had to glaze it against AI theft. Ao3 version is clean)

Spider plantlings i got off my moms and my spider plants! Lots of babies, gave some away at work. Also the bay window in my shed is 🥰
