A rambling that adds more detail to this post about hockey players Izuku and Katsuki.
It doesn't help that you're the coach's pretty little daughter of one of the best hockey teams. At every home game and nearly every away game, you're there behind the plexiglass, insisting you buy your own tickets even when your dad can get you in for free. But occasionally you'll take his offer of a free game although it usually comes with the stipulation of being shoved into one of the manager's polo's, given a clipboard, and since this happened to be an away game you'd be forced to sit on the rowdy bus for the three hour drive.
But you really wanted to watch the championship and your paycheck came in too late when the rival match finals were FINALLY announced, it didn't help that the tickets were sold out in seconds!
So you'll stand by Daddy dearest trying to look important just behind the bench inside the cramped box the team will sit in while they wait to come on and off the ice. The team of course had to arrive early and since this was an away game, you had to look every bit the part of staff as everyone else. Which meant you too had to be in the locker room while the men stripped themselves with ease. Snarling and shoving playfully in the pre game excitement, arguing over who moved who's helmet and “where the fuck are we gonna eat after we win tonight?!”
Some of them speaking lewdly off their latest piece of ass and how Bakugou “had her barkin like a bitch in heat.” Before a chorus of laughs is shared sided from a hissed “Kacchan!” followed by a rough shove into metal lockers.
It isn't until they're all pulling on their jerseys on does your dad clear his throat. Giving the speech of the century but it half falls on deaf ears. Your cheeks burn as you feel every eye on you as if they only just now realized you'd been there the whole time but two men in partial catch your eye.
Izuku, beat red under his freckles, brows furrowed as if he's embarrassed he had such a dirty mouth in front of a lady. Embarrassed of the ‘locker room talk’ and how your tight pair of jeans has his cock twitching at the thought of you barking like a bitch in heat. His gloved hand comes to grip at the nape of his neck but it does little to quell the drunken gaze he gives you, his heated cheeks morphing into pure lust. Emerald eyes slipping around the room and when he sees Todoroki staring too intently at you his glare becomes deadly. Shouto looks away and then Izuku finds another poor soul to glare at, already possessive over something that wasn't even his.
The other being a toxic bromine, smiling wolfishly palming himself roughly as he keeps eye contact with you. Strong grip with his other hand on his hockey stick as he daydreams about you. He wants you in doggy first then missionary because you're so fuckin pretty and he's dying to know what you look like when you cum. Especially when you're creaming on his cock. He's dreamt about you before, he's fucked his fist to you before and he sure as hell has knocked some asshole’s teeth out over you before. It didn't matter if it was his own teammates or the opposing team with the exception that Izuku was allowed to make an occasional comment but no more than three before the childhood rivals would be at each other's throats.
Their gaze are always a little unnerving with their intensity, almost predatory and yet it never makes you feel uncomfortable. They'd proven before that they'd protect you when push came to shove, they did four seasons ago when you first moved to the city and before anyone on the team even knew the coach had kids, let alone a daughter. The bar was crowded, it was a rival team against some other team the city happened to give less of a shit about. The players were on an off day enjoying their few hours off the ice and of course the rough men chose a bar where they could watch a fucking hockey game and shoot shit.
You'd finally found a table with a decent view of one of the many TVs and the bar so you could easily get up and get yourself a drink. But your new male coworker offered to bully his way through the players for you, ending up at the end of the bar by a bulky curly haired man and loud ass ash blonde. Getting caught up in the game and taking your eyes off your coworker but only for a moment.
“Are you trying to spike her drink?” A thick scarred hand is over one of the glasses on the bar top, your coworker flushed red.
“Huh?”
“Ya fuckin dumb?” The ash blonde reaches over the curly haired man, yanking your coworker’s tie harshly, effectively smashing the man's face into the polished wood.
“He said were ya tryin to date rape that pretty woman over there?” The blonde cocks his head in your direction, a group of eight eyes turn to look over their shoulder and then back at your shitty coworker. Who stammers, tried to get himself out of the lie before the sweetest, deadliest voice comes from the freckled sunshine boy of the team.
“Smile.” But there's nothing but malice in his eyes as he snaps the photo, immediately texting it to every bar owner he knows. (Half the city!) Your coworker fled and they offered up a seat at the bar for you but you politely declined after that they periodically glanced back to see if you left yet and if you were still okay.
So it wasn't like the only thing they wanted was to get their dick wet right?
Bedsides what probably made you super hot to them was the fact that you were the coach’s daughter, aka off limits.
Sighing as you watch them skate around the rink gracefully despite their size, Izuku and Katsuki passing to one another before taking shots at Kirishima in his full gear as they all warm up. Soon the stadium will be packed with throngs of people pressing into the glass behind you. Most of them rival fans banging on the plexi in hopes to distract or rile up the team, not realizing you'd be distraction enough.
Because all night a pair of emerald and bromine eyes will be glued to you. One giving his killer smile and the other smirking as he delivers a deadly wink.

𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧!
pairing: gn!reader x nanami kento
note: this is pt. 2 and my apology oops! part 1 is in my masterlist!
Tumblr media
It’s October 31st, just a couple minutes after midnight. Any other Halloween night you’d be hanging around the door, waiting for the stampede of overly excited children with goofy costumes to swarm it in hopes to receive some candy.
Tonight, however, the muted sound of hesitant knuckles tapping against the wooden surface makes you jolt awake. At first, you think you must’ve dreamt it. You hadn’t meant to fall asleep—you’re waiting. Whether it’s bad news or good ones you’re in for, you’re not entirely sure. Despite reassuring yourself over and over again that Kento would be fine (he isn’t a grade 1 sorcerer by chance, after all) you can’t help the nagging knot in your gut that only seems to be growing tighter. The first bad omen of the night is the actually the knocking; Kento would just use his key. You’re sure it must be Ijichi and if that’s the case, then it can only mean bad news.
You rise from the couch as you release a slow, shaky breath in a failed attempt to steady your heartbeat. Its pace only increases with each step that takes you closer to the door and by the time you come to a stop in front of it and reach out to put the key in, your entire body is trembling. It takes you a couple tries to finally unlock the it, lips pressed to form a tight line.
A shaky breath escapes you when you open the door and your eyes meet his.
“Kento,” you breathe out. The anxiety that had you in a chokehold finds release in the shape of tears that roll freely down your cheeks.
Nanami makes an effort to give a you smile. The corners of his lips struggle to quirk up and it’s a little wobbly, but it’s there. He’s there.
“Hey,” he whispers. His voice, just like his smile, is pretty weak. The initial shock of seeing him in front of you is slowly wearing off and you take your time to inspect him. His left hand is completely wrapped up in bandages—not a single inch of skin is visible under them, and the left half of his head is hidden from view as well. “I’m sorry I’m late, I was—”
“You’re alive,” you cry.
“I am. I’m here.”
Your arms seem to have a mind of their own as they wrap around his torso, your face automatically nuzzling against the warmth of his chest, this time full-on sobbing into his shirt. Kento lets out a pained groan, but before you can pull away to apologize for being too brusque, his arms snake around your frame and hold you as tight as they can; pain be damned. His right hand, the one that’s not bandaged, cradles the nape of your neck gently. Kento lowers his head and takes a trembling breath, his body relaxing when his nostrils are flooded with your familiar and comforting scent. He’s back. He’s alive. And you’re still here.
You don’t know how much time you spend in each other’s arms but it doesn’t seem long enough—it never is. However, you figure the pain must be really bad, because his hands move with considerable urgency when he tries to pull away from the embrace.
“I’m sorry, did I—” you hesitate. Nanami grimaces, his movements deliberately slow so as to not make any wound feel worse than they already do while he takes his hand to his back pocket. “What? What do you need, what are you…?” The rest of your sentence dies down in your throat as a frown slowly makes its way onto your face. “Kento?”
“Do you remember what we talked about the other night?” he asks quietly.
To say that you’re puzzled is an understatement. You’re a little too preoccupied with the state of him to think about something you said some nights ago. In response, you simply blink.
“When I said I would like to switch the stairs for a slide? Because I was kidding about that, I didn’t—” your words halt when he chuckles, the action ripping another pained grimace from him. “Hey.”
“I’m okay,” he murmurs. Yes, he’s in incredible pain even after all the treatment, but there’s something immensely soothing about your presence that always makes anything bearable. “But no, I’m not talking about the… ridiculous slide idea,” he says. His brow pinches when he takes his hand out of his pocket, empty. He tries the other one. “I meant…” And then his frown melts into a small smile when his fingertips come into contact with his target. He pinches it between his fingers before retrieving his hand and presenting his opened palm to you. Right there in the center lies a ring. “This.”
Mouth agape and eyes even more watery than before, you stare at the piece of jewelry before your eyes dart up to meet his.
“Kento,” you mumble. Your hand is tentative when it rises, index finger stretched out to touch the metal, warmed up due to his corporal heat. “Are you serious?”
Nanami gives what you assume is a scoff.
“Am I ever not?”
He smiles when you chuckle. Of course he’s serious. He’s wanted nothing more pretty much since he laid eyes on you. There would be no greater honor than spending the rest of his life with you. If he hadn’t been clear enough the other night when you two talked about it, maybe this would finally get it into your head.
“Well.” You extend all of your fingers straight, nervously chewing on your bottom lip as his still unsteady fingers clasp the ring before carefully sliding it onto your finger.
“There. Looks right at home.”
“Feels right at home,” you say with a smile. You cup his right cheek with tenderness, standing on your tiptoes to plant a sweet peck on his skin. He seems a little disappointed that that’s all he gets but he understands; he can’t exactly exert himself after tonight’s events. “For the record, you look as dashing as ever.”
Another scoff from him, another giggle from you.
Nanami finally steps in and pushes the door closed with the ball of his heel. You tilt your head in confusion when he opens the palm of his hand in front of you and stares at you with a raised eyebrows.
“Keys,” he clarifies.
You press your lips together to suppress a smile.
“What happened to yours?”
“…I lost them,” he begrudgingly admits.
You can’t stop yourself from laughing this time. Reproach is clear on Nanami’s face, but there’s something underlying as well. Complete and absolute infatuation with you.
“Wow, Nanamin!”
“Stop,” he says with a quiet chuckle.
“That is awfully irresponsible of you!”
“Well, they sort of got charred so I didn’t technically lose them,” he retorts, interlocking his fingers with yours and giving your hand a squeeze before leading you further into the house.
Really, he’s never felt more at home.

THE PERFECT PAIR 2;
ELLIE WILLIAMS
Tumblr media
·˚ ༘ * “But don’t think we could help it, no"
pairing: bff!ellie williams x fem!reader. part one. summary: part TWO! you forgot to answer ellie, shes upset. you make up for it with a party, what could go wrong! wc 6.9k warnings: ig you could say slightly toxic friendship. ellies jealous. blink and you miss it jealous reader. almost.. sorta.. kinda kiss.. slight angst slight fluff.
Tumblr media
You dreamt of the past a lot. Ever since you were little, more often than not, your dreams were much different than the other kids around you. When they spoke about their dreams of dragons and kings, you could only pipe in with the nostalgic nighttime story of your most recent favorite memory that played like a film reel while you slept.
Tonight, you dreamt of Ellie. You dreamt of your noses pressed to the glass of your parent’s car window, heads tucked side by side as you pulled up to a building. Large bulky letters read out the museum's name on a sign in the blue sky. The sky was always more blue in your dreams.
You had been twelve— just turning Thirteen, mere months into meeting. Ellie’s hair was always pulled back into a ponytail back then, strands of deep reddish brown hair peeking out of the hair elastics. Even now, with the muddy and watercolor-like painting of your dream, you could count the freckles on dream Ellie’s cheeks. It was your birthday, and you had been carted with Ellie to the museum near your house. A promise of a day full of Ellie laughing and tugging you around to explain the space section to you ensued.
You dreamt of Ellie’s slightly sweaty palm intertwined with your own as she pulled you around the crowded floors, gasping as she swore under her breath at every exciting exhibit. You would hush her each time, hitting her arm— just like you still did today.
You dreamt of your favorite exhibit. The one that made you love the stars so much. You had entered a dark room, only you and Ellie. Her voice was hushed as she pointed out different star patterns painted in glowing colors on the wall. That was the moment you knew you wanted Ellie to be your best friend.
You dreamt of the green Dinosaur plush Ellie had paid for with crumbled-up money in the back pocket of her jeans at the gift shop. The one she had shoved into your arms and exclaimed, “Happy Birthday!”
When you woke up, your face was pressed into that exact stuffed animal. Though the once soft fur was a bit rough now, almost seven years older, it was still more comfortable than the pillows below your head. It still held that sense of nostalgia you laid to rest every night that other options didn’t.
Your eyes squeeze before they open, arms reaching to pull the dinosaur against your chest instead. You imagine it’s just as new as it had been the day Ellie got it for you. You imagine the sky is as blue as it was in your dream, that you and El were still those carefree pre-teens. But then your alarm goes off.
Fucking Mondays. Blinking a few times to adjust to the light pouring into your eyes, you reach blindly for your phone. Fingers wrap around it a moment later, the bright screen causing another wave of blurriness to your sleepy eyes. Even through the patchy vision, it's clear that you have a few notifications.
From Ellie.
Multiple. From last night.
“Fuck,” you groan out loud this time, gaining the attention of Dina from across the room. She’s already sitting up, scribbling away in a notebook that you assume to be rushed classwork.
“You ok?”
A hand comes to wipe across your face, rubbing the skin of your cheek gently. Dina asking is sweet, but you struggle to answer honestly. “I'm good, yea. I just have to see Ellie.”
You’re up and out of bed before Dina can ask further questions, stomach turning as you look at your phone screen again. The three separate texts make you feel a little sick, especially the last one that came hours later— likely when Ellie was already frustrated.
It shouldn’t make you so queasy, something as simple as sleeping through texts. But it was Ellie. You never missed Ellie’s texts like that. Especially not her asking you to come over.
You trip over the small rug near your bed as you rush to the connected bathroom to change, earning a gasped laugh from your roommate.
“Jesus, slow down,” she calls to you through the shut bathroom door, but you’re too focused on the task currently at hand— pulling the shirt over your head without bumping into something else.
Dina watches your panicked-looking face as you step back out into the floor of your shared bedroom a few moments later, her lips pursing in confusion.
“Did Ellie die or something?” Dina jokes with curious seeming eyes, pressing her notebook closed. “You’re running around like a chicken with its head cut off.”
You shake your head with a small half-assed smile, “No- I just uh- I forgot I promised to meet her this morning,” it seemed easier to lie than to admit your heart was in your throat because you slept through a movie invitation. Your hand goes for the sweatshirt bunched up on the floor, pressing your fingers into the cloth of the grey sleeves. It was a bit too warm to wear it, you know that, but there's a sense of comfort that soothes the aching in your stomach when it's pulled over your head, and you move to the door.
“Hey,” Dina pipes up as you step across the threshold, “Jesse and I are going to a friend’s tonight, Danny. He’s got some off campus apartment he’s having a little party at. Do you... Wanna come?” The question falls from Dina’s lips simply, her attention moving from your eyes to the top she's readjusts after a night of sleep. But the way her gaze flicks up a few times tells you that this was an important question for the brunette.
“On a Monday?”
“Oh!” your roommate’s nose crinkles as she mulls over the fact that yes-- it was in fact a Monday, which wasn't exactly the perfect day for a party. “Yea, I guess that’s not helping my case hm? I promise it won't be crazy. Dan’s friends are chill.”
You think about it for a second, shifting from one foot to another. It was a good opportunity to get closer to Dina. To maybe make some new friends you had come to have missing space for after Jade and you stopped talking, putting you down her and all her friends. But it was a Monday, and you definitely couldn’t have a hangover for your sociology lecture on Tuesday. Instead of pointing any of this out though, you find yourself instead asking...
“Can I bring Ellie?”
It seemed Dina was expecting this question, waving a hand your way. “Yea, I already told Jesse it’d be two people.” For some reason, that admission has your neck feeling a little hot. Your eyes find the wall to try and cover the awkward noise your throat makes.
“Ok.. yea, cool. I should be able to go. My last class is like three today.” Your feet bounce just lightly as you speak, which Dina notices.
Dina smiles, clapping her hands together. “Great. Now shoo before you start vibrating in your spot or something.”
You nod, offering another smile before your dash out into the hallway. Instead of turning and heading for Ellie’s dorm, you make a beeline for the elevator. It was early in the morning. Too early to show up pounding at Ellie’s door when she was likely grumpy from the sun and the previous night. No, you needed a peace offering.
﹒ ♡₊˚﹕﹒₊﹕﹒₊˚
That peace offering came in the shape of slightly cold dorm cafeteria french toast and waffles, tucked into a styrofoam takeout box. It was Ellie’s favorite, but she always woke up too late for them. Stingy college kids always stole them all before the first 9 am classes even started.
You held the styrofoam in your free hand as you reached forward to knock at the door. Before you could, it flew open-- both you and the person at the door jumping. You are met with the sight of dark hair and wide blinking brown eyes. Rose. They smile apologetically at you, repeating your name and different versions of ‘sorry’ as they press past you to get through the door.
Ellie’s roommate was sweet, but they were always running around with something to do, so you didn’t see much of them. At this point, Rose didn’t even question why you were always at their dorm-- you probably spent more time there anyway.
Your eyes follow as Rose hurries down the hallway, a nice distraction to the shuffling you hear from inside the now open door. “Hello?” a groggy voice asks. It forces you to look back to the doorway, met with the sight of a very sleepy looking Ellie. Her arms are crossed over her comic teeshirt-clad chest, hair messy behind her ears. You find yourself focusing on the straight line her lips are pulled into, and then the crease in between her furrowed eyebrows. You wonder for a moment if pressing your thumb to it would smooth it out.
“Hi..” you try, blinking at her as both your bodies shift into the dorm.
For a moment, it’s silent. You look around the dimly lit dorm you had seen a hundred times, acting like it was a brand new vision so you didn’t have to look at Ellie. Eventually though, you suck in a breath.
“You totally ignored my te-”
“I didn't see your tex-”
The two sentences lap over each other in unison, messy and rushed. Both voices are cut short when the opposite peaks. You let Ellie finish first, your mouth sealed shut.
“You ignored me last night,” Ellie mumbles, stepping toward her side of the room. The posters that cover the corner near her bed are starting to peel at the sides a little, and you have to fight the urge to ask if she has tape. Now is definitely not the time.
“I was talking to Dina then fell asleep, didn't ignore you,” you correct your friend, footsteps following her own. You still grip the take-out box as you watch Ellie tug a hair tie off her desk, fingers (you oddly couldn’t look away from) pulling the hair up into the usual bun.
“It was like barely even six or something, but whatever, I get it, roommate shit,” Ellie muttered-- as if she didn't know the exact time you stopped answering. As if she hadn’t had a mini breakdown over having to watch a shitty action movie alone.
You find a slight flame of annoyance in your gut, mixing with the guilt already settling there. “Ellie, I was tired I fell asleep. I'm sorry.”
Ellie, stubborn as ever, shrugs. “Yea, it’s whatever.”
“Don’t be like that,” you whine, hand reaching to grab at her wrist. The touch burns, even more when she pulls it away.
“I’m not being like anything.”
You groan, and the childish urge to stomp comes to mind, but you ignore it. “You're being all.. passive-aggressive.”
“I’m not. I said it’s ok, peach. Just stop.”
The nickname is a blatant attempt to make her annoyed tone a little less severe, something to ease the growing tension. You would like to say it didn’t work, but it did. You and Ellie were much better at avoiding the issues than dealing with them. Usually, they were painted over with sweet nicknames or offers to go out and do something. It always worked. You relax slightly and hold out the box for Ellie to see.
“I brought a peace offering. Knew you’d be all grumpy.” you wave the food box a little, pressing it closer to her chest.
Ellie scoffs as she grabs the box and sits on her bed. “I am not grumpy,” she mutters with a very grumpy-looking frown.
You kick a dirty shirt away from her bed as you sit next to her, settling on the blanket and watching her open the box.
“Waffles.. fuck yea!” She grabbed the waffle with her hands, like there wasn't a fork right there with the box, and bit into it. It makes your lip curl a little, but morning Ellie was not someone to be messed with, so you say nothing. Instead, you look around the room, your fingers playing with the sleeve of your sweatshirt. Not sure what to say next, you lick your lips.
“Uh, good peace offering?” Ellie nods in response, swallowing a mouth full of lukewarm waffle before speaking.
“I’ll give it a 5.5/10.”
You make a shocked face, mouth dropping open. “A five? I fought off like three hungover guys for these!” you shove her shoulder, earning a grumble.
“Yea, and you made me watch a movie alone,” Ellie takes another bite of her waffle.
The light feeling that began to build had dropped as quickly as your heart, a lump in your throat. “Yea, my bad.”
Ellie looks at you, jade eyes moving around your face as she swallows. “ ‘m joking, thank you..” her tone is just a tad softer, but you still feel all too itchy now, an urge to get up and go settling over your frame.
You nod, a slightly fake raise of your lips attempting to comfort her as you stand, “I have to get ready for class, but uh, I sort of told Dina we’d go to a party...Would that be a better peace offering?”
“Its a mon-”
“I know, I know, but please, El, I really wanna get close with Dina,” your voice borders on a beg, fingers pinching at your sweatshirt. “Weren’t you the one who encouraged me to?”
Ellie sighs at that, shrugging her shoulders. “Yeah, I guess I was. Shit- fine. But my astronomy class gets out later than your English. I cant drive you.”
It made you want to smile, the way Ellie had already memorized both of your schedules. The earlier discomfort from her slight attitude melted away as something warmer bloomed in your stomach.
Maybe you and Ellie were a bit dramatic. You had been told that many times actually. The way you could get so upset at each other for something simple and yet still fall all over each other the moment something sweet happened. Sometimes you wonder if other friends have these turbulent of feelings for each other, but you ignore it with a nod. “That’s fine. I’ll catch a ride with Dina.”
Ellie turns her head momentarily, shrugging and covering a slightly noticeable pout with an awkward reach for the french toast in the takeout box. “Just text me the address.”
You nod, saluting Ellie as you step into the dorm door. “Will do.”
Ellie rolls her eyes and shoos you off, “Get going.”
“Bye, love you El!” you shout through the door. The loving words came easily, something you had said every so often ever since you two were younger. Ellie didn’t say it as much, but you didn’t mind.
“Bye, peach,” Ellie called, the nickname receiving an eye roll. One she couldn’t see this time.
﹒ ♡₊˚﹕﹒₊﹕﹒₊˚
4:30 pm came too soon. By then, you were back at your dorm, shoving a stack of books on your already messy desk and flopping back on your bed.
“Who even has a party at 6 pm on a Monday?” you question your roommate, who was currently fixing the mascara she had applied. You words flow over the soft music Dina had turned on, a low hum from her desk.
“College students who have a slight alcohol dependency,” Dina shrugged.
“Fair enough,” you laugh, flipping onto your stomach to watch her walk around the orange-lit room. You hadn’t even begun to get up and get ready, focused instead on watching your roommate’s routine as she walked around.
“It's only gonna be like fifteen people or something,” Dina shrugs as she pulls out a chapstick tube, applying it over her lips.
“Hm..” you nod like that made it any better. Fifteen people you had probably never met before, when you were tired from classes. Yea. You would definitely need a drink.
Dina looked over at you, a grin spreading on her lips as she walked over to you, her fingers gripping your wrist. “Get up. Jesse’s gonna be here soon!”
“I don’t even know what to wear,” you whine, letting your roommate drag you into a sitting position as you meet her eyes. They narrow, and she tugs you again, this time to stand.
“Just wear that! Well, take off the sweatshirt but jeans and a shirt is fine. That’s what I'm wearing.” Dina shrugs as she lets her fingers reach for the bottom of your sweatshirt, the pout never leaving your lips. You didn’t want to remove it, but she urged you to with a friendly tug.
“C'mon, show me your closet. I’ll help you pick a shirt.”
﹒ ♡₊˚﹕﹒₊﹕﹒₊˚
When you got into the back of Jesse’s car, you completely shut down. Your lips were shut so long you swore they may have stuck together. He was friendly, sure! He cracked jokes you betted Ellie would laugh at, he complimented Dina’s outfit as soon as you got in the car, and grinned when you introduced yourself. But you had taken more than a week to openly speak to your roommate, so her boyfriend wasn’t exactly the easiest to chat to.
Dina didn’t mind, making sure to include you every now and again in whatever conversation the two had going, smiling back at you from the passenger seat as you pressed into the black cushion of Jesse’s car. You found yourself staring out the window, eyes flitting over each street lamp they passed, watching as the sky dimmed just lightly as the minutes seemed to drag by.
Eventually, the car stopped outside an apartment complex, and you peered through the glass at the tall buildings. Jesse pulled the keys from the car as he rushed out and around the other side. It was too late for what he was planning, Dina opening the door right as he reached for it, in turn smacking the metal door right in the stomach and face.
“Ow! Babe!”
Dina covered her mouth with a hand, a muffled snicker only slightly concealed. “Why the fuck did you run into the door?”
Jesse looked at his girlfriend incredulously, rubbing his sore nose, “I was trying to be a gentleman!”
“Since when were you a gentleman?” Dina questioned as she stepped out of the car; you only a moment behind as your feet found the gravel under you.
Jesse calls your name, eyes directed at you. “C’mon. Back me up. You saw me going to open the door right?”
Your nose scrunched, lips parting for the first time in too long, “I kinda did, yea..”
The boy makes a quick motion with his hands to say ‘see?’, Dina shakes her head as she steps back, arm looping yours. The touch makes you stiffen a bit, but Dina’s always warm smile calms you.
“Stop using my roommate in your little lies,” she muttered, though the smile never faltered as you walked up to a ground-floor apartment door. Jesse mumbles a few nonserious complaints as he knocks at the wooden door.
It opens quickly, a ginger guy who seemed about your age answering, cheeks full of freckles raising into a smile. It makes you wonder when Ellie will be here.
“Dee! Jesse!” The boy greets, eyes finding yours, “Oh and Dee’s roommate!”
Dina rolls her eyes as she pulls you inside the cooled apartment, your skin pricking slightly. At least it wasn’t humid like all those frat parties Jade brought you to. You still find yourself wishing you had your sweatshirt, though. “She's got a name, Danny..” your roommate chastises before introducing you two.
“Her friend’s coming later,” Dina explains as she leads you into a living room that looks much too small to house fifteen or so tipsy college students. You guess the attached kitchen will act as more space, with a few plates of snacks and bottles already stacked on the island.
You let the conversation that begins between the three friends about when everyone will be here filter out as you explore the area with your eyes. A couch and a few seats... you could probably hide away on one of those..
Your plan to avoid human contact is quickly ended when Jesse shoves a glass in front of your face, “Drink?”
Your fingers wrap around the glass without a second thought. Alcohol was your friend tonight, the only one until Ellie arrived. Usually, the only two things that could make you talkative, you had to settle for it. “Thanks,” you mumble, groaning as the taste of Titos with too little coke finds your throat.
Ok, you could do this.
﹒ ♡₊˚﹕﹒₊﹕﹒₊˚
Ellie couldn’t decide what flannel to wear. Maybe that sounds crazy. It’s a flannel, not a suit— for some small get-together. But she wondered which you would recognize first. Not that she cared about you liking her clothes or anything.
This indecision is what got her in the current situation, sitting outside the address you had given with two flannels in her hand.
Her car was cold, and the wifepleaser she wore without any coverage didn’t exactly stop the goosebumps from finding her skin. A scowl came to her face as she inspected the brown and blue shirts.
“Fuck it,” she groaned, tossing both options into her passenger side as she instead leaned over to the back, grabbing the black sweatshirt she’d worn to classes today. Ellie brought it to her nose, checking it didn’t smell or anything— and shrugged. “Good enough,” she muttered to herself before pulling it on and leaving the car.
It felt odd, to be walking up to a door she didn’t know, especially without you. She may be constantly telling you to put yourself out there, but Ellie was just a big hypocrite. It’s not like she really did anything totally spontaneous either, aside from a few club outings or drunk hookups. She had s lot to say about you putting yourself out here, but here she was, playing nervously with her fingers outside a party.
One quick check of the two of your texts confirmed the metal letters next to the door were correct, so she knocked rather harshly.
Immediately Ellie regretted that, cheeks pink as she pulled the hand away. There's a chorus of voices and shuffling behind the wood, and Ellie finds herself searching for yours.
Instead, a taller man opens the door, black hair messy, cheeks slightly flushed from what Ellie assumes to be drinks.
“Hey, uh—“ his head turns, searching behind him. Ellie thinks she may slam her head on the wall right then, embarrassed by the obvious fact this guy had no fucking clue who Ellie was.
The embarrassment from this didn’t last long; the man stepped to the side slightly as a booming voice interrupted them. This embarrassment cut much deeper into Ellie’s stomach. It painted her cheeks bright red.
“ELLIEEEE!” a voice shouts. She finds you, eyes wide and smile on your face as you open your arms. Oh you are so fucking drunk, aren’t you? You rush toward the auburn-haired girl, wrapping her into a tight hug, your arms pressing around her in a way that had her cursing her family for passing over the wobbly knees over pretty girls gene.
God, she has got to stop calling you pretty.
Ellie stumbles back with the force of your attack, patting your back awkwardly as her chin juts down to your shoulder.
Ellie's eyes meet the black-haired guy again, “She drunk?” she asks as you sway the both of you. The way you shove her chest and scoff gives her an answer. You only got offended at the accusation when you were drunk.
“I am not drunk! Just a little tipsy.”
The guy behind you makes a ’so so’ motion with his hand, drawing a grin out of Ellie.
“Righttt..” Ellie nods, letting you unwrap yourself from her. She watches as your head turns, “Oh! Ellie, this is Jesse, Dina’s boyfriend.. Jesse, this is Ellie,” you make a few awkward looks between the two, huffing.
Jesse smiles at Ellie, nodding his head to the hall. “I’ll meet you two in the living room!”
“Yea, yea sure,” Ellie nods and smiles the best she can manage when you trip over your feet back into her. The annoyance that had layered her being earlier in the morning was steadily decreasing as your eyelashes fluttered, staring at you. How could she stay angry at you for .. ‘missing’.. her texts when you looked so pr—
So nice.
“They’re so cool, El,” you whispered to her, hand finding her arm. You had a tendency of becoming touchy when you got a drink or two in you, and usually that affected Ellie, the one closest to you most times. “Yea?” she asks in response
It wasn’t like Ellie minded it. If anything, she would rather it be here you got all.. grabby with. A memory of you clinging to Jade a few times last year came to the forefront of Ellie’s ever-moving mind, making bile rise in her throat. Instead of thinking about why, she just bumped your shoulder, eyeing the shirt you wore. It wasn’t your usual style, nor a shirt she had seen you wear before. You seemed to notice Ellie’s gaze, clapping a hand on the red fabric.
“It’s Dina’s,” you explain, leading Ellie into a now slightly stuffy living room. The porch door was open now. A few people squished into the small outdoor space, and a few others in the kitchen. Though the main group was all huddled on the couches, chatting and laughing in a way that seemed much too close for Ellie and you to interrupt.
Even in your tipsy state, Ellie felt you shy away slightly, until Dina’s head popped up from a seat and grinned. “Over there,” you hum— again dragging Ellie with you.
Ellie kind of knew Dina. In a ‘I have a class or two with you and we have smiled at each other in the dorm hallway’ sort of way, due only to the shared face they both knew— you. Dina seemed sweet enough, even if you hadn’t yet babbled about that to Ellie.
Dina seemed nice, so Ellie shouldn’t feel a swoop in her stomach when you returned the smile to your roommate, but she did. The feeling bubbles in Ellie’s throat for only a moment before she swallows it down with a huff as you pull her to sit on her couch.
“Hey, Ellie,” Dina greets the girl when the two of you sit, her mouth then coming to wrap around the cup in her hand.
“Hey, Dina,” Ellie nods her head, looking around at the group.
You pipe in before the silence can get too awkward, a grin lacing your pretty lips. “Dina and Jesse were arguing over what movie to watch b’fore you got here,” you explain, head leaning toward Ellie’s shoulder. She moves it before your cheek can find the sweatshirt clad skin, a frown replacing the curl of your lips.
Dina uses this as an opportunity to delve right back into what seemed to be a half hearted argument, head shaking. “He wants to watch Jurassic Park for the like fifteenth fucking time,” she glared at Jesse, who Ellie could guess was her boyfriend.
“Hey,” Ellie butts in, “Jurassic Park is good.”
“Thank you!” Jesse shouts. “Someone with good fucking taste!”
Dina scoffed, “Maybe the first time, not the fifteenth. I said we should watch a horror movie,” the ponytail-wearing girl explained. Ellie is listening to the argument, sure, but she’s mainly focused on how your cheeks raise a bit every time either of the couple says something funny.
“Ellie,” a voice calls the girl out of her little daze, green eyes finding the lips that had asked the question, Dina’s.
“Huh?”
“I asked what your favorite movie is. Jesse thinks you must have great taste since you like Jurassic Park.”
“Shawshank Redemption,” Ellie says without thinking— the answer she always gave when people asked.
You make a noise beside her, shaking your head quickly. “Oh fuck off Ellie,” your eyes find Dina and Jesse, “She’s totally lying. Just saying that ‘cuz Joel likes it, and it’s not lame.”
The couple doesn’t question who Joel is, but the little comment has Ellie biting her lip in embarrassment.
“Her favorite movie is like—the Star Wars prequels,” you continue.
“they are not!” Ellie quickly shouts, shoving you. Dina smiles a little at the act, sharing a glance with Jesse that has Ellie looking a little flushed.
“You’re just saying that because I told you It was one of the movies that made me gay,” Ellie accuses, making you roll your eyes.
“You made me watch that shit every Friday for like two years cause of Padme. Think we’ve watched shawshank like once. And it was with Joel.”
“Oooh, your girl’s calling you a liar,” Jesse whistled, leaning forward from his place perched on the side of the couch.
Your girl. The words wrap around Ellie’s throat in a way that makes it hard to breathe, nails of each syllable digging into the freckles in her neck.
Don't go there.
“She thinks I lie about everything, worst friend ever,” Ellie sighs, the friend part coming out a little too forced.
“I am the best friend ever,” you shake your head, “You just lie a lot.”
“I’ve never lied in my whole life!”
Ellie is met with a harsh pinch on her arm, yelping as she feels the burn. “Ow!”
You stick your tongue out childishly, leaning into Dina to protect yourself when Ellie’s hand reaches out to punch you.
The fight is interrupted when a new person joins the group, ginger and tall. “We’re playing spin the bottle,” he points to the group forming on the carpet, Ellie’s nose tilting up a bit. Spin the bottle, really?
“Lameee,” Dina calls, arms wrapping around you as you gasp.
“Wait, no, that sounds fun! We should play!” you say, shocking both Ellie and Dina.
“We need to get vodka in you more often,” Dina claps your shoulder and raises into a more proper position. Ellie has to bite back an annoyed scoff. You definitely didn't need to be like this more often.
Sure, Ellie wanted you to find more comfort in being outgoing, but she didn’t want you to find that in the bottom of a cup of vodka and coke.
“El, play with us?” you question, eyeing the freckled face.
“Uh, yeah, sure.” She agrees, though it’s mostly so she can sit next to you and maybe mind-control the bottle to steer clear of your direction.
All three of you, followed by Jesse and then the ginger, stand and make your way to the smaller group on the ground. The ginger introduces them all, But Ellie isn't paying much mind. Instead, she focuses on getting you to sit without stumbling.
“How much vodka did you have, peach?” she mumbles against your ear so no one else can hear.
“Uh, like two mixed drinks? I'm fine, just overtired.” You push off her accusations of being drunk again, grinning lightly at her as if it would prove you were sober somehow.
Ellie doesn't respond, eyeing Dina as she takes the spot next to you on the other side, and then Jesse next to her. She was surprised the couple was playing, but the way Dina made an ‘Im watching you’ motion to Jesse told her enough they weren't taking the game too seriously.
It made her a bit jealous, how comfortable and.. not possessive a couple like that could be with each other. Yet here she was, a sick stomach just from the thought of a girl that was only her friend kissing someone. She needed to get a fucking grip.
“Ok, who first?” a brunette girl across from Ellie asks, eyeing the empty beer bottle in the middle. The ginger volunteered, and Ellie clocked out again.
She had no interest in watching a bunch of straight people kiss each other drunkenly, instead eyeing the posters and paintings on the living room walls. She took a few photos of space she recognized, and some movie posters that looked like they were from the 80’s. Whoever lived here seemed to have good taste. Ellie eyed the group curiously, wondering who it may be.
About five minutes later, Ellie returned to earth when someone said your name. “You wanna go next?” The ginger man asked, to which you nodded— thought a little less enthusiastically now. Maybe the vodka had begun to sweat its way out of you, or maybe watching a bunch of people kiss before now had made you a little less excited. Ellie couldn't be sure which.
Ellie watches as your fingers wrap around the bottle, shaking enough that only she would really notice. The girl thinks she may actually pass out from how hard she holds her breath.
When it begins to slow down, it’s almost right back to yourself, and Ellie starts to think she actually can mind control things. But instead, almost worse than it landing on anyone else, it lands right on her.
Everyone around you two whoops, and she can hear Dina’s voice carrying over everyone else’s.
It’s probably a little funny to look at the two reactions. Your face pulled into a shit-eating grin, puckering your lips and pressing your hands to the ground so you could lean closer. And then Ellie’s, face dropped like she had seen a ghost of a loser lesbian’s past.
Honestly, Ellie did—the ghost of a particular memory from her fifteenth year.
You lean in, nose brushing Ellie’s. Her ears go deaf, ringing as your breath puffs against her shaking lips. Right as they begin to touch, a fire rips between the small space of air there. A fire that has Ellie almost yelping out loud, pulling right back before she can taste the vanilla bean of your chapstick flavor.
“Hey!” you cry out, obviously not taking this as seriously as Ellie. No, you seemed more annoyed that she ruined the game. But she was pressing her fingers into the floor, burning from the way it hurt the flesh there to stop the hammering in her chest.
This was a totally normal reaction, Ellie decided, definitely.
“You ruined the game!” you cry, shoving Ellie’s shoulder enough to have her blinking quickly.
Dina shoves a shot glass in front of Ellie’s face before she can settle the heartbeat in her ears.
“You pussy out, you drink,” the brunette singsongs.
“I’m driving,” Ellie turns her head, standing up. Your eyes follow her, burning into the side of her cheek as she wipes sweaty palms on her jeans.
The mood dampens, but only for you and Ellie. The rest of the group goes back to playing. Ellie knows by the gasp that wafts through her pounding eardrums as she begins to walk away.
Soon, the stomping footsteps of your tipsy self follow behind. “El,” you whisper yell, grasping her arm. This time, Ellie lets you.
“Did I make you uncomfortable?” You ask, eyes searching the red-tinted freckles on her face. “I didn’t mean to. It was just a game. I'm just trying to impre—”
“It’s fine,” Ellie assures you, faking the best smile she can. It should be honest; she has no reason to be upset right now. But she is. Her chest aches with the urge to go back in time and just let you do it.
“I'm just really tired, not in the partying mood.”
“Then let's go home,” you say quickly, probably searching to ease the discomfort Ellie knows she’s radiating. “I’ll stay at your dorm tonight, ok?”
God, Ellie’s such a fucking goner.
“Yea, ok. You’re definitely drunk anyway.”
“I am not!” you pout, releasing Ellie from your bruising grip. “Let me go tell Dina, I’ll be back.”
Ellie watches as you trip a bit over your feet, a habit you really need to shake, and sighs.
The silent show is not long-lasting, the brunette from the circle earlier arriving at Ellie’s side. She had kind eyes, and a bottle of water in her hand.
“Hey, it’s Ellie right?” she asks. Ellie finds herself watching the blue in her eyes.
“Yea,” Ellie nodded.
“You taking her home?” the girl asks again, in reference to you. She hands the water bottle to Ellie. “Give her this, don’t think she’s had any.”
Ellie grips the water bottle, squeezing it a bit. “Uh, thanks.”
“No problem,” she grins, one almost like yours. “My roommate’s always throwing these things and then never giving people water,” the blue eyes roll.
Ellie perked up at that, “You live here?” She thinks again of the space decorations in the living room.
“Yeah!” the brunette smiles again, “Me and Danny. I'm Luna,” she explains.
“Oh shit, wait,” Ellie’s eyebrows furrow together, “Luna..” something clicks in the green-eyed girl’s mind. “We have that physics class together, don’t we?
Luna seemed a little flushed, “Oh.. y-yea-”
The rest of her sentence falls on deaf ears when you trample into the hallway again, all senses only honing in on you, like usual. You seem to pause for a moment, eyeing the two others in the hallway.
But soon, you’re moving right by Luna, arm wrapping around Ellie’s. “Told Dina, all good to go,” you wipe a hand over your face with a little dramatized yawn.
“Thank Luna,” Ellie says again before she grabs you right back, leading you out the front door.
“You have got to stop drinking vodka. You know how you get,” Ellie mutters against you when the cool night air hits her already raised skin.
“I wanted to have fun!”
“Yea, good luck with fun tomorrow at your lecture.”
“Skippingggg it,” you mumble as Ellie ushers you into the passenger seat, the door squeaking like usual. Your ass lifts to grab the two shirts under it. “Why are there flannels in here?”
“Uh—” Ellie flushes, “I dunno.” She shuts your door before getting into her own side.
“Mm..” you sigh, already pressing your cheek to the cold glass of her window. “Who was that girl you were talking to?” you ask as the purr of the engine starts. Ellie throws the water bottle in your lap.
“A classmate, drink that.”
You look at Ellie for a moment, and Ellie stares right back. “.. Ok.”
﹒ ♡₊˚﹕﹒₊﹕﹒₊˚
“Shhh,” Ellie mutters, ushering you through the dark dorm hallway. “Can I wear your bear shirt? The super oversized one?” you babble, knocking yourself into Ellie’s door with a yelp.
“You’re such a fucking dumbass,” Ellie snickers, making quick work of unlocking the door while you nurse the bump on your head.
“Shhhh!” you mock her, flipping the light switch of her dorm on. Your finger presses to your lip in a quiet motion, kicking your shoes off. Rose wasn't here, as usual.
Ellie’s throwing the shirt with a cartoon bear at you before you lift yourself back up, and you happily tug Dina’s shirt off. Ellie is flipping away before the fire in her chest can return, throwing a pair of sweatpants behind her head so she doesn’t have to look.
“Ow!” you cry, probably from a large jumble of grey fabric hitting you.
Ellie pulls off her sweatshirt and changes her jeans for some shorts, counting to sixty before she turns around. Just to be safe.
You were already lying in her bed, pressing on the right side near the wall, eyes fluttering shut.
Ellie watches you for a moment, watches how your fingers grip at one of the blankets on her bed, thumb rubbing over it. She noticed the self-soothing motion of that years ago, how you always rubbed something between your fingers. The sleeve of your shirt, a pillow corner, a blanket. Sometimes, Ellie wishes it was her arm you did it to instead.
Don't go there.
The light flicks off, drowning the room in only the hue that came from the little pink nightlight on her roommate’s side of the dorm. Ellie is sleepily making her way to the bed, eyes catching on your now sleeping figure.
Alcohol also made you sleep really fucking easy. Ellie learned that prom night when you fell asleep in the car to the afterparty.
She watches how your lips part slightly as you breathe, and swears out loud. “Fuck.”
Ellie is so fucked. She wanted to snap her fingers and get a do-over. Wanted to be back in that loud house, back to smelling the vodka on your breath as you leaned in. She wanted to try again.
But she can’t, and she shouldn’t. So she climbs into bed next to you, pulls the blanket from between your thumb, and lets you shift, turning in bed to face the wall. She lays the blanket over you and sucks in a shaky breath.
She watches your back and presses her eyes closed to try and remove the overwhelming vision of you that invades every single one of her waking moments. And the ones after that.
Ellie falls asleep watching your back, and wonders if that’s all she will ever get.

All too well. (Miles morales x reader)
Weather Miles knew it or not he was stabbing her right in the heart every time he made their relationship seem under wraps.
In front of everyone he refused to call their relationship what it was. Love. Not a childish relationship, at least not to Y/n.
Rio could see something was going on between the two. There wasn’t a day where she hadn’t dreamt of seeing Y/n in a wedding dress besides Miles, she was all too prefect. Y/n was practically the daughter she never had.
So Miles kept her close to his heart and he always got Y/n to return back into his arms but every time she did she felt shame, and he would just hold her lifeless frame. Their relationship was crowded, Gwen was stuck in the picture and the teenage boy was stuck between the two. He couldn’t imagine a life without either of them. Gwen gave him thrill and Y/n gave him comfort.
Both girls were spider-women except…Gwen wasn’t in their universe. She was gone and it had been months. Y/n remembered it all too well.
When arguments happened salty tears would fall from the two of them once they wrapped arms around each other, Miles breathed in her sweet candy scent wishing for it to smell like another. While y/n let tears fall knowing Miles imagined someone else with him. She didn’t trust herself, her body would always lead her back to the wrong things, him.
However…the patience of Y/n didn’t last longer. The night before everything went downhill they got into an argument…
It all started when we had came home from keeping watch on the city. Tonight wasn’t the best night, Miles was so distant and he refused to speak to me.
He spoke about me indirectly, I heard it.
“you’re just so irritable….”
I couldn’t ignore it, not this time. His frustration lighted a bottling flame waiting to ignite..
“I won’t ever understand you! You won’t even speak to me directly?! What am I supposed to do with that?!”
He turned around quickly, spoke irrational. Though I knew in some way or another he meant every word he said.
“If you were Gwen maybe I would’ve been just fine?!”
Hearing him say that made me want to die. Confirming something I denied for the longest. There was shuffling in my feet stepping backwards, my heart beginning to feel intense agony and the tears slipping from my eyes.
Miles couldn’t exactly see my face with my mask, but he knew what he had said cut deep.
“…we’re done.”
His hand reached out for me but all I could do was push him away. I fled immediately after, knocking into almost every building. My vision was disoriented since my eyes were flooding with tears.
That night I went to bed listening to my parents arguing in the living room, doing the same thing Miles and I had just done. Maybe it was for the better…maybe if I stayed I would’ve repeated the never ending cycle….
‘All’s wells, that ends well’ but Y/n was in a new hell every time he double crossed her mind. It goes without saying that the next day Y/n dreaded having to go to Jeff’s promotion party, but she would anyways because they were there for her big moments too…
My eyes felt swollen from the rough night and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all. Picking between the clothes and getting myself out of bed was difficult, this breakup felt final.
I took everything step by step and I took a deep breath walking into the party.
“Y/n! Hija you made it, I was getting worried!”
Rio rushed in giving me her nurturing love and all that hit was the fact that this will never happen as much. I wouldn’t allow myself to come over any more after this, not when I know I’d go back to him.
“Hi Mrs.Morales! Hi Mr.Morales-“
“Rio let Y/n breathe!…Cmon give me a hug kid!”
I did return that hug but all I could do was take the emotions in..
“Congratulations sir!”
once we were done with our greetings they turned my body quickly to the skylines of the city
“Isn’t it beautiful!…haha yea.”
The way Jeff had spoke sounded quick and awkward, he rushed my body to turn so fast.
“oh yea it is..”
Rio couldn’t just stand there and act like she didn’t see Y/n hurt regardless if she didn’t see the scene Jeff hid her from, she wanted to protect her but she wouldn’t lie to Y/n either.
“Oh princesa, lo siento.”
Confusión covered my face but inside hearing just that but not knowing why, I was so close to breaking down.
“What do you mean?”
Jeff looked to Rio with pleading eyes begging her to stop and Rio had a sense of genuine and a need to not hide something.
“Miles is with that girl Gwenda, I can’t lie to you Y/n. You’re just too sweet for me to lie. Just know that no matter how or why your relationship ended, no es por ti.”
My swollen eyes wanted to cry once more, I turned my body to the crime scene. He did talk to her the entire time in the beginning of our relationship…maybe did even worse. She came back now, and Miles was the one who ran to her the second we called it quits.
I knew based off the smile on his face, he’d never feel sorry for the way I hurt. He was showing her off just by simply bringing her and pulling her close…
The entire time Y/n was staring Jeff couldn’t believe his eyes, everything Rio had rambled about them being together and Y/n being in love, Miles loving her back but out of nowhere it only ever became halfway. It hurt seeing the pain that struck her eyes.
Jeff gave Y/n the biggest hug..
“If you want Y/n..you can pick out your food, eat and take a good nap on our couch before you head home.”
A small tear feel from Y/n’s eyes, all she could do was nod and walk away…
I’ve never doubted myself so much, I hate that I gave Miles power over that kind of stuff. At some point in our relationship it was always one step forward and three steps back.
Once I made it back down to their apartment I couldn’t nap, my body wouldn’t allow it. Something was telling me to go. So I did.
I closed the window and leaped onto building from building , trusting my body to lead me in the right direction. When I arrived there was a damaged building and a portal..no one was there and it hadn’t closed yet, so I jumped in..

Tumblr media
You all stayed at camp as two of your party members recovered their physical and psychic damage. Not much happened. The second night, Astarion was able to step out, and sit next to the campfire with everyone. Everyone had spent time on their own way - resting. Wyll seemed to have refined a dance. He wanted to share with everyone, and asked for a partner, just as you walked in with a bunch of firewood. Everyone looked at you and Wyll found his volunteer. You indulged him.
It turned out more fun than you had thought.
You enjoyed dancing in a previous life. A life which you cannot remember much of, anymore. Everyone was being merry. Astarion seemed to be recovering because he made some snarky comment at Wyll's dancing skills. Said he always dreamt of marrying a handsome prince charming like Wyll as a kid - making everyone burst out in laughter. Wyll offered to dance with him in return and Astarion turned him down saying he was afraid of being stepped on. After which a funny banter followed.
All was not as bad as it could be.
"You seem to be all better, Astarion. Good to see, soldier. It's all thanks to Halsin's medicine that our dear captain so diligently put on you all night" Karlach beamed, gesturing to you. You felt like a deer in the spotlight. "Ah no no no, I hardly -- " "Of course you did, you followed my instructions perfectly" chimed in Halsin, unhelpfully.
You looked down to the ground blushing. You didn't want to look at Astarion. At this point you may as well hold a sign saying you love him, you thought. "Thank you. Captain." Astarion returned, in a solemn and deep voice. "I owe you my life". "Again." You were sure he said that last word, or did he. It was said very softly, almost to himself.
Everyone was able to march forwards again.
In the underdark the next day, Shadowheart and Karlach were chatting. You wondered if Shadowheart and Astarion had found their way to each other again. You hoped they did. You did not want to come in between real love. "You know, I have a spent time in a crypt. But the underdark, still unsettles me". What?
Astarion had caught up with you.
He was trying to make conversation! You were surprised. "Are you still feeling unwell? Maybe you thought I was someone else?". You blurted out unwittingly. Half joking, but also, not. "Why would you say that? I was perfectly aware who I was walking upto to have an idle chatter with. If you are not interested... however" He feigned being hurt. "You never talk to me, Astarion. This feels very, not normal. Why now?". You were genuinely curious.
"Do I not?" He seemed hurt.
"We haven't spoken a word except last night in the past week". You reminded him, pettily. " I had, a few things to sort through, in my head." He said, a bit distant. "But I feel much better today. Both in body and in mind". "That is very good to hear. We were all worried that night. You were close to falling in the water".
You two then talked a fair bit.
About the incident, about his time as a magistrate in Baldurs gate. A few things about Cazador. You felt there was more to the Cazador story than he let on. But that would have to wait. You were in combat again.
You started with your back to his back.
You had never fought this way before. You felt safer. You cancelled someone trying to cast a spell on the party. Then at one point, while you were momentarily distracted, you saw two hands on either side of you, cast 'ignis' from behind you, as hot flames burst forth. It was so warm for a moment. Not just from the spell but his breathy voice right behind you as he took down your enemy for you.
His face was so close to you.
"Look out!" You were so distracted by his face, you didn't see the arrows coming. Astarion turned you around while shielding you with his back that took the arrows. His armor was enough to save him but that was dangerous. "What are you doing?!," You demanded, slightly frowning since that was reckless. "Saving your distracted self. You're welcome" he snarked back.
And whose fault is that, again. You sighed.
Fighting side by side had it's charms. It gave him advantage on his sneak attacks while you took out any enemies in range. But at one point, towards the end of the battle, you were both near a ledge, when someone set off an explosive and you both fell off. Down into the abyss. You cast feather fall to save your lives and braced for impact.
It didn't hurt as much but you both fell in a pool of rubble dirt and dust that clouded everything. Coughing, you couldn't see in the smoke cloud and dust. The area looked precarious. As if a false step or loud sound would make you go crashing further. Astarion was a few feet away. Coughing.
He crawled towards you. "Are you okay"?
A wooden beam seemed to fall towards you as you looked up. Your mind went blank. You Eldritch blasted it and realized it splattered into a hundred splinters that were now raining down on you. In an instant, Astarion was on you. Fully armored. And he shielded you from the worst of them. You on your back, him on all fours, protecting you.
"What are you doing?"
You were genuinely angry. Why does he keep putting himself in danger for you! Those splinters were not enough to hurt you badly, and you did not need saving from something so trivial. What has gotten into him today. Being the Hero. Didn't he find the idea repulsive? You couldn't understand this man. He definitely disapproved of a lot of your more benevolent choices in the past. And now look at who is being the Hero.
Hypocrite.
You expected him to say he was saving you, and you had your reply ready in your head. That you would have survived just fine. You just needed to remember the right spell.
"I'm being ... grateful".
Is what he said. What? You looked into his eyes. Once again, his face, was very close to yours. "You are a handful. You know that"? He quipped. You were offended. "Excuse me - I cast feath -- " His lips were on yours. He sucked and pulled on your lower lip before parting.
"I -- wa --- "
"Shut up" and he kissed you again. Several times. Quick, rash and hurried. His tongue found yours. You had no time to breathe. Your mind was going blank again. Why does this man do this to you every time. You put your arms around him without thinking when a voice rang out. "You guys ok down there? " Karlach's voice ran out from above.
He tore away instantly.
"Yes! " He promptly got away and waved "we are here!!" "I saved her but now we need help getting out". "You didn't save ---" " Shut up or I will kiss you again". It wasn't the warning that shut you up. But the shock at what was happening... You just stared at him wide eyed. "If you don't believe me, why don't you test me" he smirked. He helped you up. The party had thrown a rope ladder down to you two.
After you. He said.
You held the rope. No, after you. "I'm afraid, my love, that can't be helped" he stood behind you and tugged at the rope to check its strength, he was so close again. "I need to keep my eyes on you darling. " He smirked again as he leaned in and kissed you again. This one was longer and more tender. "For the journey back up, my dear. Who knows when I can tear you away again".
His hand was on your stomach. Tantalizingly close to your breasts. "I would like to savor you more ....later" He said in a very low voice, next to your ears, almost in a whisper. Your head tilted back, he planted one more kiss on your lips and let you go. You gripped the rope hard. Your heard pounding from the kisses he lavished on you.
You tried to focus on the task at hand, and made your way up, slowly. Looking back down every now and again as he smiled up at you.
You resolved to end this turmoil soon.
Back up reunited, you decided to stay with the others the rest of the day. That didn't prevent him from catching your eye and flashing his smile at you every chance he got. You turned away, cheeks flushed and confused, every time.
Back at camp that night, you tore away from everyone, to sort your thoughts through before confronting him. You found a secluded pool, so you stripped to your inners and went in the cool water. You were still uncomfortable being completely naked in the wilderness. Made you feel, vulnerable. Besides - who knew if someone was lurking. These woods were filled with thieves, bandits...vampires.
"There you are, darling. "
Shocked, you turned to see him. "How did you -". He smirked. "Why, I can smell your sweet blood miles away. Did you forget, I'm a... vampire" he winked. You were infuriated - not a moment's peace with this man around. You should have washed your wounds faster. Years of being a predator has given him perfect stalking skills it seemed. Fine. Might as well get it done with. You braced yourself.
Astarion stripped down and got into the water.
Part VIII : Your blood like wine, invites me in.

Midnights (Marauder's Version)
Welcome back to the new series by @marsmarauders and I. Obviously we got carried away again but here you have every single song from Midnights related to the Marauders characters :D
So we present to you... Midnights (Marauder's Version)
Lavender Haze
“The 1950s shit they want from me, I just wanna stay in that Lavender haze"
Like this song is very obviously Jily falling hopelessly in love with each other I don’t think it needs to be further elaborated
Maroon
“When the silence came, we were shaking, blind and hazy, How the hell did we lose sight of us again?"
Wolfstar, but specifically like… November 1981. The vinyl reference, "the lips I used to call home," "laughing with my feet in your lap," and "the rust that grew between telephones" signifying how they weren’t communicating well and hiding things from each other "I see you everyday now" cause Remus sees the sky and what just so happens to be in the sky? Stars. Sirius also sees the sky from his prison cell and what does he see? Oh that’s right the moon!
Anti-Hero
“When my depression works the graveyard shift, All of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room”
We had two theories for this one first being Regulus bcoz of the self deprecating vibe and “I'll stare directly at the sun (James) but never in the mirror”
But we could also see it as Mary post-war? It's hard to describe why, but everyone sees her as the Anti-Hero cause she saved herself even tho she had full right to do that
Snow on the Beach
For this one I was utterly confused and absolutely useless and Marls came up with this interpretation herself
"Can this be a real thing? Can it? Are we falling like snow at the beach?"
This song is Sirius's perspective specifically during the wolfstar forgiveness phase after the prank. "You wanting me tonight feels impossible".
You're On Your Own, Kid
"You're on your own, kid, You always have been"
Both of us agree that this song screams all the Black children because none of them chose this town (family) and dreamt of getting out, I mean the whole song recounts a young person who longs for love but eventually understands that they are on their own and always have been afterall whatever you do you can never escape the black family curse can you?
Midnight Rain
“He was sunshine, I was midnight rain”
I mean do I even need to say anything? Its jegulus bcoz they r the literal definition of opposites attract even tho they loved each other they were born on two different sides of a war which inevitably became the reason of their end.
Question…?
"Can I ask you a question? Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room"
Dorlene. That’s it, like we have no explanation, just vibes.
Vigilante Shit
"I don't start it but I can tell you how it ends, Don't get sad, get even"
Both of us agree it could be both Regulus or Dorcas because canonically Regulus knew about the horcruxes, and died while deceiving the dark lord and on the way to kill him (also bonus bcoz the final blow which made him take this decision was bcoz Voldemort exploited Kreature so Reg decided to get even) Dorcas on the other hand canonically had to be killed by Voldemort himself because she was posing as too big a threat to his empire
Bejeweled
"Baby love, I think I've been a little too kind, Didn't notice you walking all over my peace of mind"
Lily about Severus and how even tho she  mourns and misses her friendship with him, it will never be worth more than her self respect and how she won’t let him walk all over her, a diamond’s gotta shine afterall ;)
Labyrinth
"Uh oh, I'm falling in love, Oh no, I'm falling in love again, Oh, I'm falling in love"
To me this song is sooo obviously jegulus coz of the chorus alone, its James realizing that he’s falling in love again, this time with Regulus after pining after Lily for years. Just how when he thought he was “unlovable” and it was all doomed this sickly, victorian looking, snarky slytherin boy swoops in and steals his heart right out of his chest
Marls has her own hc for Emmary tho where basically Mary was in love with Lily but it was unrequited and then she had a situationship with Emmaline but ended up catching feelings which is so perfect for this song
Karma
"And I keep my side of the street clean, You wouldn't know what I mean"
Again I had no opinion on this song coz it felt like too happy and too upbeat a song for any of these miserable sods (I still love them ) but Marls swooped in with a brilliant interpretation which was that its from Dorcas’ pov to the slytherin trio basically throwing shade at them for choosing to stay and join the death eaters instead of leaving and fighting for the “right” side like her
Sweet Nothing
"They said the end is comin', everyone's up to somethin' I find myself runnin' home to your sweet nothings"
Now for this song we had differing views with me being a jegulus girlie while Marls being a jily girlie (we still love both the ships tho, we just have a preference)
To me the song is jegulus coz I see it as them expecting the inevitable end of their relationship and doom due to the impending war and their family’s differing views and them just trying to tune everything out to spend their limited time together and in love.
On the other hand Marls interpreted is as to when the Potters were in hiding with only each other and Harry for company. How they could see that the war was on full ride and they were at the centre of it while still trying to create some sweet and happy memories with their son
Mastermind
"I laid the groundwork, and then, Just like clockwork, The dominos cascaded in a line, What if I told you I'm a mastermind?"
(Try and tell me the whole bridge doesn’t scream Regulus Arcturus Black.) To me the song is about Regulus because the man literally was a mastermind, while being a death eater he planned to betray Voldemort by destroying a horcrux and he was actually successful in retrieving it tho maybe I’m a little biased due to his characterization in the fic only the brave (Marls also thinks the song could be about James bcoz of the bridge "To make them love me and make it seem effortless")
The Great War
"I vowed I would always be yours, 'Cause we survived the Great War"
Marls didn’t really have an opinion on this one but for me it was very clearly wolfstar. First reason obviously being the fact that they are pretty much the only couple who actually survived the war (the first one that is, we all remember how the second one went). "Somewhere in the haze, got a sense I'd been betrayed" being how they both thought the other was the spy and the prank
Bigger Than The Whole Sky
"Every single thing I touch becomes sick with sadness, 'Cause it's all over now, all out to sea"
Now this could go two ways one being the black brothers,
"Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, You were bigger than the whole sky"
Basically how Sirius feels when Regulus gets the dark mark. Because his brother is too far gone
Bonus since Regulus dies literally all out at sea
The other being marylily bcoz of
"What could've been, would've been, What should've been you"
"And I've got a lot to pine about, I've got a lot to live without"
Obviously from Mary’s pov since Lily is dead
Paris
Now Marls had no idea about and I suggested rosekiller just coz of vibes and coz
"I wanna brainwash you, Into loving me forever"
This seems like something Barty would definitely say
High Infidelity
"You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love, The slowest way is never loving them enough"
To me this song is bartylus coded (don’t worry they then get together with Evan and James and have a happy relationship) especially coz of this one specific rosekiller microfic I’d seen if I find it I’ll reblog it with this post
Glitch
"In search of glorious happenings of happenstance on someone else's playground, But it's been two thousand one hundred and 90 days of our love blackout"
We agreed this song gives off wolfstar vibes tho we are open to suggestions
Also 2190 days is six years which is around the same amount of time wolfstar dated if we hc that they got together around their 5th year :D
Would've, Could've, Should've
"If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?, Years of tearing down our banners, you and I, Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts, Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first"
Now this track could be taken in many contexts I like the interpretation of it being from the Black children’s perspective to their parents
And another one being from Remus to Greyback
"And if I was a child, did it matter, If you got to wash your hands?"
Marls also suggested it being from Narcissa’s pov to Lucius or Bellatrix, regretting not going with Andromeda which also fits wonderfully
(Since it in itself is talking about the person suffering due to a relationship when they were young and it even now haunts them I feel like this song could be interpreted many many ways bcoz all of the marauders era characters dealt with a lot of trauma at a young age)
Well obviously since most of them didn’t even reach their twenties
Dear Reader
"Dear Reader, if it feels like a trap, You're already in one"
Peter Pettigrew. Need I see anything more?
Hits Different
"In the good in the world, you once believed in me, And I felt you and I held you for a while"
Lily without Snape in her life especially when she starts falling for James
You're Losing Me
"How can you say that you love someone you can't tell is dyin'?, I sent you signals and bit my nails down to the quick, My face was gray, but you wouldn't admit that we were sick"
For this one there wasn’t even a discussion needed it is wolfstar during the first war and we won’t hear otherwise. How even tho Sirius and Remus loved each other, the pressure of the war itself was too much on them especially coz they were so young and also coz of how Peter was manipulating them against the other ("Was it because I'm a werewolf?" "Was it because I'm a Black?" I’m sorry). They could see their relationship was straining, they kept waiting for the other to take a risk, a step to fix it and how even through their suspicions, they loved each other regardless
AAAAND THAT'S A WRAP!! THANK YOU FOR READING THIS!!
Make sure to come back to see Evermore, coming soon! (To a theater near you.)

AN: This fic is a continuation of this one. I just want to say a big thank you to @rmoonstoner and @queenofthehobos for your interest in the previous part and I hope you enjoy this one just as much.
Warnings: canon typical violence, mentions of violence, and jealous Ares.
You rested your forehead against Rupert's as you struggled to catch your breath in the stacks of the library at Sunnydale High.
"Did my kiss leave you breathless?" Rupert teased.
"Hush," you ordered before dragging his lips back to yours.
"GILES!"
Rupert regretfully broke the kiss, "What could they possibly want now?"
"They're kids in a library on a hellmouth. My guess? Academic support."
Rupert frowned at you, clearly not amused by your joke, before straightening his clothing and walking out to greet the teens. You walked out a few minutes later.
"Hey (Name)," Xander said as he sat at the table. "Any luck with breaking the bond that connects you and Ares?"
You shook your head, "Everything we've read so far states that since Ares created it, he's the only one who can destroy it and it doesn't exactly end well for the person on the other end."
"Why can't these gods keep to themselves?" He groaned.
"Well, I've been doing some research on the situation on my own," Wesley announced. "With the resources that the Council has graciously permitted me to use."
"Does he ever shut up?" Buffy groused.
You however had a completely different reaction, "You told the Council?"
"Well, yes. I am obliged to keep them updated with all the goings-on in Sunnydale." Wesley adjusted his glasses.
"If you were on a battlefield and you had been impaled in the shoulder, would you contact the Council and update them in the middle of the battle?"
"Don't be absurd," Wesley scoffed. "I would be placing the people that I'm fight...oh." He trailed off sheepishly.
"Glad we understand each other," you snapped. "Call me if you need me to patrol tonight Buffy."
You met Rupert's eyes before you walked out of the library. They were soft and apologetic but did little to cool your anger.
That night, your dreams were anything but restful. You dreamt of wars fuelled by passion and in each of your dreams, you could feel Ares' growing presence. In your last dream for the night, the god appeared in front of you and captured your mouth in a dominating kiss that left you woozy. It took far too long for you to realise that Ares had pressed his hand to the small of your back to keep you in place as he kissed you.
"The mortal's kiss might have taken your breath away once but my kisses are the ones that you'll be craving until the end of time."

Selfshiptober 2024: Day 1
Prompt: Confession/Night
Wordcount: 876
Ship: Hades (Kid Icarus Uprising) x Lionne (OC)
Description: Lionne decided to do something about priests who worship the enemy at a large ball. Little did she know, her lord had known she'd be there... so he ends up getting an idea.
@sennamybeloved If you wanna see!
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Tonight was a special night in the kingdom Lionne lived near. Tonight, there was a large ball with all of who's who in the kingdom in attendance. Lionne wasn't much of a person for these sorts of events, but once she heard some high priests in the Church of Light were to be there, she saw a good opportunity. Perhaps if she went, she could scout things out for her lord.
Getting an invite was rather easy when you had all manners of forbidden magic on her side. All it took was a hex or two in order to charm a gullible nobleman who she lured in with sweet words. With this invite, she would be able to enter.
It was rather lonesome though, seeing all these noblewomen dancing with their lovers. She sighed longingly. It was too bad her true love was of such a high status that he was unattainable in her eyes. She scanned the crowd for the priests she had tasked herself with finding, but was snapped out of her search by a familiar voice.
"Well well, I figured you'd be here."
Letting out a surprised gasp she swiveled on her heels. A devilishly handsome man stood before her. With sideswept dark purple hair, brownish red eyes, and a dark complexion, he was hardly recognizable. However… The voice was a giveaway to her. She knew he could manipulate his size, but she didn't realize he could assume a human appearance too!
"Milord, what're you doing–"
"Hush now, remember we are within mortal ears." He said in a hushed voice. "I knew you'd try to seek out those priests. Pretty reckless, you know." Lionne pouted a bit. "I just wanted to help–"
"Don't fret, little lady. I've already managed to use magic to knock them out, so they're dealt with already. We'll have plenty of time to squeeze out information from them after this."
Lionne looked confused. "Then… What brings you here? Couldn't you have just told me this after?"
Hades smiled. "Well, I suppose I was curious what a human gathering looked like. A ball, is it? It's rather charming in a way." As he asked this, the musicians began a new song. It was an extremely lovely waltz. Lionne was then asked a question she wouldn't have even dreamt of.
"I suppose idle chatter can wait. How do you humans say it? I believe it went something like… May I have this dance?"
Lionne blushed at this question, looking down at her lord's extended hand. "I never was a good dancer!" She squeaked out.
"Just follow my lead, little lady."
Hades took the initiative and gently took her hand in his. Getting in position, he took her other hand too.
As they swayed and waltzed, Lionne's heart was beating against her chest. Was she dreaming? This had to be some kind of dream. She was dancing with her lord, the deity she had worshiped for so long. Their relationship had evolved over the time they've been around each other of course, to the point they considered each other a companion. Yet in all her wildest fantasies, she never could've imagined she was going to be waltzing with him.
As the song drew to a close, Hades released her, giving a small grin. "Now, Lionne… Let's go somewhere quieter, shall we?"
Leading the way, they headed outside to a balcony. The new moon meant it was dark, only lit by the dim light emanating from the ballroom inside.
Hades sighed before turning to Lionne. "You know… I never thought I'd end up so close to a mortal."
"Well to be quite honest, I never would've imagined I'd meet you, much less become your companion."
He looked down and chuckled. "Well, I suppose it does sound odd, doesn't it?"
Silence hung between them for a moment before he stepped slightly closer to her. "You know…" He started with a flirtatious tone. "Companion may not be the exact term to describe it for me."
Lionne shifted her posture. "What do you mean?"
"...Perhaps I'm growing soft." Hades muttered this to himself. "You look beautiful under this darkness, you know."
Her face turned red as she averted her gaze with wide eyes. "Well, um… I think you're looking pretty handsome yourself." She blurted out. At this, Hades took another step. There was barely any room between them now.
"In that case…" He placed a hand on her right cheek, causing her to gasp slightly. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give you one last surprise. Consider this a gift for your loyalty and companionship."
He slowly began to lean in. Her heart thudded against her chest as she instantly recognized what was happening.
Her mind was racing. Part of her mind was screaming that she wasn't worthy of this. Surely she couldn't be, right? …And yet, there was another part of her that knew that their companionship has grown past her being a simple priestess. After all, Hades has grown from being her god to being her dear friend, and it seemed mutual.
She started leaning forward slowly on instinct. Her head tilted and her eyes closed.
Their lips connected, and it felt like fireworks were going off in her head.
"...I love you, Lionne."

The Man Who Sold The World | Luke Castellan
Tumblr media
Spotify Playlist Link
Katherine. She was the one who started it all for Luke Castellan, the reason he did what he did.
Warnings: Mature themes/language. Violence. Sexual content.
Chapter Sixteen
Chapter Seventeen: Nights That Don’t End
In the past few days, Luke hadn’t slept much. Most of his nights were just spent watching Katherine as she slept, making sure she was sleeping peacefully, which didn’t happen often these days, or simply staring up at the cabin ceiling. Even when he slept, Luke either dreamt of things that tormented him in his sleep, or just simply didn’t remember what he dreamt about.
But that night, he actually had a good dream as he slept throughout the entire night, one that he wished would never end.
“Okay, really good, just try that one more time, but even harder,” Luke instructed as he held his sword still in his hand. “Think you can do it?”
“Yeah,” the nine year-old nodded, breathing hard.
“Alright! Show me what you got!” he encouraged him.
Luke made the first move, swinging his sword just in time for the small boy to slash his own at the blade in retaliation, this time hitting back with an improved intensity.
“Good! You’re doing great!” he exclaimed proudly.
“Luke?” the little boy in his dream asked him once they finished training.
“Yeah?”
“How did you get that scar on your face?” the child asked him, purely curious.
“Well,” Luke sighed, trying to put a more positive spin on the traumatic memory, “I went on a quest. To retrieve a Golden Apple from the Garden of Hesperides. It’s from the dragon; Ladon.”
“Did it hurt?” the ADHD-ridden child asked him.
“It didn’t tickle, kid,” Luke sighed.
“Do people think you’re ugly?” the boy blurted out as Luke tried not to laugh.
“Uh… I don’t know,” he admitted. “But my girlfriend doesn’t mind. That’s enough for me.”
“You have a girlfriend?” the boy asked, getting a nod in return. “What do you actually do with a girlfriend?” he asked, as Luke tried his best to maintain his composure.
“No one ever talked to you about this stuff, huh? Or, any stuff?” he quickly realized.
“I’m nine,” the child pointed out.
“Fair enough. Uh… I don’t know. Depends on the person, but for me… My girlfriend’s just like my best friend,” Luke remarked. “We tell each other everything before we tell anyone else, and we always wanna spend time together. And she’s just also really pretty,” he tried to explain.
“And she likes being your girlfriend, even if you have a giant scar on your face?”
Luke nearly snorted with laughter. “Yeah, I guess you could say that… But hopefully, after tonight, she won’t be my girlfriend anymore.”
“You’re breaking up with her?!” the boy cried.
“No, no,” Luke chuckled, “I’m gonna ask her to marry me.”
*****
“Katherine? Will you marry me?” Luke Castellan asked, on one knee with the most beautiful diamond ring in his hand that he could find.
“Yes,” she gasped, “Yes!”
He quickly jumped up to kiss her, ring box still in his hand as he forgot about it for a moment.
*****
The wedding was held in Rome, during the day on the shore of a beach that looked just like paradise. It was a beautiful wedding, with a small guest list of only the most important people in their lives.
The incredibly romantic wedding ceremony and reception was followed by a two-week long honeymoon in Italy, resulting in a new development that came with an ultrasound photo on the refrigerator in their new home.
“Oh, I can’t believe my little boy’s gonna be a father!” May Castellan gushed as she and Katherine sat at the table while Luke prepared dinner. “I just wish we could’ve met sooner! I would’ve wanted to get together before you became my daughter-in-law!”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Katherine sighed, “Luke and I were just always so busy…”
“Oh, it’s okay, sweetheart, I get it,” the woman promised her. “You don’t have to feel bad.”
“So, May, do you have a guess as to whether it’s gonna be a girl or a boy?” Katherine asked.
“I don’t know, what do you think, honey?” Luke’s mother asked curiously.
“I think it’s gonna be a boy,” she explained, “Luke thinks it’s gonna be a girl.”
“I see, are you hoping for anything in particular?”
“I really don’t care, I’m just happy we’re having a baby,” Katherine responded truthfully, smiling at Luke as he cooked. “But, later down the line, we’re hoping to have both…”
“Oh, that would be wonderful! You know, I’ll have to look at you when you’re further along. You can tell by the shape of the bump, whether it’s gonna be a girl or a boy,” May Castellan remarked.
“Oh, wow,” Katherine nodded.
“So, Luke, you think it’s gonna be a girl?” his mother asked him.
“Yeah, that’s my guess,” he nodded, setting plates of food down on the table as he sat beside his new wife, squeezing her hand. “Obviously, I’d be happy with anything, but I really want to have at least one girl…”
“He’d make such a cute girl dad,” Katherine beamed.
“Oh, yes he would!” May agreed. “My Luke… so sweet and gentle. You know when he was little, and I used to try and kill the spiders in the kitchen, he used to pick them up on a newspaper, and stick them outside?”
“Aw, I believe it!” Katherine sighed, affectionately kissing Luke’s cheek as she nuzzled her head into him, listening to the stories.
“You two look so happy,” the older woman gushed, seeming emotional. “Look at you, Luke, so handsome, just like your dad.”
“He is handsome,” Katherine agreed, looking up at him like he was the coolest person in the world.
With Katherine, Luke felt like Brad Pitt.
“I’m so proud of my son. Camp counselor, beautiful wife, beautiful baby on the way.”
Luke smiled softly as he looked down at his wife, and then over at his mother, who was happy and healthy, fully content with everything. He took in their smiling faces, and the beautiful sounds of their gentle laughter, treasuring it forever.
“This isn’t how it happened,” a loud, nightmarish voice violently cut through his good dream.
“What?” Luke looked up.
His blue eyes widened as everything slowly disappeared him, his lovely home, his healthy mother, and his beloved wife. Everything in that idealistic fantasy was stripped away from him until he was left alone in an empty room of darkness.
“This isn’t how it happened, Luke Castellan,” Kronos’s voice shrieked in a pitch that was both far too low and far too high.
Luke began to panic as the invisible room he was in started to make him feel claustrophobic, suffocating and not existing simultaneously.
“You didn’t leave the camp. You didn’t marry the girl. You didn’t save your mother,” the Titan’s voice reminded him. “You didn’t even keep the baby alive.”
“No!”
Luke started to twitch, remembering his unborn child as he flailed about out of instinct.
“Remember who your allegiance is to,” the voice reminded him, returning him to a new, all too familiar memory.
It was one of the earlier dreams Luke had had about Kronos; it was the dream in which he decided he’d join the father of the gods in destroying the world they currently lived in. In the dream, Luke had been showed every single ounce of suffering caused and enabled by his father, Hermes, along with all of the other gods, which basically amounted to just about everything he’d ever witnessed.
In the dream, he’d walked into an empty, almost ceremonial sort room, which was dark and empty, except for Kronos’s golden sarcophagus. Luke had touched a hand to the ancient artifact, in complete awe of the raw power emanating from it as he dropped to his knees subserviently.
“I pledge my eternal allegiance to you, Lord Kronos,” Luke vowed as he was told to. “My mind, body, and soul belong to you. I am your servant.”
“Well done, my boy,” the voice said in a saccharine tone, trying to entice him, “You’ve done well.”
All of a sudden, he looked down at his clenched fist as a beautiful Celestial bronze weapon began to appear in his hand. It was a sword, a glorious weapon he could only describe as befitting a warrior. One side of the sword, it seemed, was made from Celestial bronze, only capable of killing monsters or other mythical beings, while the other edge was steel, capable of unspeakable destruction.
This was the sword Luke had named ‘Backbiter’, capable of killing just about any creature in existence. It was one thing for a demigod to brandish any weapon made up of Celestial bronze, as killing monsters was in the job description, but in the demigod world, even just giving oneself the opportunity to kill mortals was an absolute taboo.
The sword, Luke knew, was a true instrument of death. He had received a flawless instrument of death from Kronos in exchange for becoming one.
“Why do you hope to be happy?” Kronos’s voice echoed through his empty head. “Why do you believe that this is possible?”
Luke was completely broken by the question.
“Your loyalty isn’t to yourself. You don’t serve your own happiness, or hers; you serve me,” the Titan said. “Just as I can reward you with happiness for doing as I say, I can take it back. Remember that.”
His eyes opened with a start, and he all but jumped up in bed. Katherine was woken by the sudden movement, looking over at her boyfriend as she slowly sat up, trying to shake off her own exhaustion.
“Another dream, baby?” she asked worriedly.
Luke nodded slowly, not realizing that he had already been crying in his sleep. Overwhelmed by the nightmares, he buried his face in his hands, failing to collect himself.
“I’m sorry,” she murmured, rubbing his back as he held his knees up to his chest for comfort. “I’m right here, okay? Just let it out. You’re safe.”
Luke hadn’t felt safe at all in the past several days. Losing the unborn baby he’d only gotten the chance to grow to love in the past three days was the final straw for him, the very last chance he had to have hope for good in the world, or his world, at least. Ever since losing the baby, if it could even really be called that, Luke had clung desperately to Katherine even more so than before.
She was the last good thing he had, but even she had almost been taken from him by Kronos, on multiple occasions. Luke draped himself over her body, laying his head down on her chest as she held him. Her movements were slight but deliberate, as she slowly went from allowing him to sink down onto her lap to gently stroking his hair as he let out small, painful cries.
“You know how much I love you, right?” she asked him sadly.
Unable to stop his weeping or steady his breathing, Luke just nodded, hanging onto her every word as he prioritized her smooth voice over the relentless screaming in his head.
Later that day, once the both of them were feeling up to actually leaving the cabin, they decided to walk the strawberry fields, in a more quiet outing.
“I don’t know if this makes sense, but… I miss the baby,” Katherine said softly. “I know I never gave birth, but… I still had it with me, you know?”
“That makes absolute sense,” Luke promised her, a poignant look in his eyes as he felt exactly what she had meant. “I miss him or her too… I know there’s no point in saying ‘him or her’, but it just makes me feel more connected to it, actually imagining a ‘him’ or a ‘her’.”
“I wanna know what I would’ve had,” she thought after a pause. “Do you?”
“I, uh…” the question triggered a deep longing in Luke. “I wanna think so. But I don’t know if I could handle it,” he confessed guiltily.
Katherine nodded, considering his point of view.
“I wanna know… But, the thought of missing a little girl, or a little boy, as opposed to a little fetus with no identity… It makes it too real,” he forced out, a pained grimace on his face.
“Yeah,” she nodded, feeling the same pain.
“But, don’t we owe it? To what would’ve been our kid?” he asked her.
“Luke,” Katherine stopped, trying to speak as delicately as she could. “I feel the same guilt you do. I do. But, life is also for the living. I don’t want you to feel like you have to grieve a certain way, just because it would’ve been our baby.”
This caused a long, thoughtful pause as she started to wonder whether she’d said the right thing.
“Maybe you’re right. But, I don’t know… I was just really looking to having a kid, and getting to know it,” he stressed. “And I think I still wanna get to know it. Any way I can.”
“I just can’t believe this. I just can’t,” Katherine breathed, “I mean. So many things in my life, in our lives, have gone wrong. We’ve both been through so much fucking shit, it doesn’t even sound real. But, when we found out about this baby, I just…
“I don’t know. Maybe I was just dreaming, but I thought we might actually get the chance to do something right for once. I thought we’d actually get the chance to contribute something genuinely pure, and meaningful, to the world,” she expressed.
“I so wanted to have a baby with you,” Luke sighed, the look in his eyes a gut-wrenching mixture of love and trauma.
“I wanted to have a baby with you too,” Katherine agreed, tears in her eyes. “I didn’t even know that that’s what I wanted, but it happened, and then I wanted it! And then it all got taken away, so fast, and I don’t know what to do!”
He said nothing as he looked at her, the beauty of her features upstaged by sadness.
“I killed our baby, because I don’t have a soul!” she exclaimed, face contorted with disgust at herself. “I killed our baby, but I can’t even fully access however the fuck I feel about it, because I don’t have a soul!”
“Katherine, you didn’t kill the baby,” Luke promised her, taking her face into his hands, “Listen to me. It wasn’t your fault, you did not kill that baby. You loved the baby. So much. I saw it in your eyes every day,” he reminded her.
“I don’t see anything in my eyes!” Katherine sobbed, her voice almost pouty like a child’s. “I look in the mirror, and I don’t recognize the person I see! I look at the memories in my head that are supposedly mine, and they don’t feel like mine! I feel like a—like a decoy someone made! Like people are just meant to look at me and then wonder where the real one is, while the person who this life actually belongs to runs away!” she exclaimed.
Luke’s brows furrowed in sadness for her.
“I really wish you could see what I see every day,” he exhaled, “I wish you could see the way you love me, and the way you loved the baby.”
Katherine looked at Luke for a moment, noticing the way he seemed a thousand times more upset when she expressed her own feelings of sadness or pain, as if his hadn’t actually mattered. She noticed the focus with which he looked at her, as if he were only a camera recording everything she did as some amazing feat, and the sheer love that he had for her when he looked at her.
He loved her so much, more than anything, and without a soul, Katherine was afraid that she couldn’t dream up enough ways to show him that he was everything to her. After all, she was more than willing to have a child with him, despite the current state of the universe, or her own uncertainties toward the idea.
She knew that she’d opened herself up to the opportunity for something truly great, only to have it ripped away. Life, it seemed, was cruel even in comparison to death.
“God, why do we do this to ourselves?” Luke scoffed. “Why do we risk everything serving a Titan who doesn’t care about us anymore than he cares about his own children? Why are we so convinced that his new world order is gonna be so much better than what we have now?” he demanded.
Katherine paused for a moment, recognizing his fragility in that moment.
“I don’t understand why we do this to ourselves,” Luke admitted emptily, momentarily staring at nothing. “I don’t know why we put people above us who treat us like we’re disposable.”
“Because, honey, that’s just how things work,” she concluded. “You and me, we’re just people. We’re demigods, but we’re just people. We’re just not capable of implementing change ourselves; so, we hitch a ride with whoever’s gonna make the changes we want. And rarely will that be someone who doesn’t treat everyone like shit,” she pointed out.
“How is Kronos any better than any of the gods, then?” he demanded out of frustration.
“It’s not about being better,” she responded. “It’s about results. The gods won’t lift a finger for their kids, because Zeus says so. And the only one capable of bringing Zeus down is Kronos.”
Luke didn’t say anything for a moment, knowing she was right. About everything. Like she always was.
*****
“I know this has all been beyond hard on you. And I know I’ve been tired, and hurting, and spacey… But just know, I wanna make it all up to you,” Luke said softly, looking down at Katherine as they stood in one of the showers together.
It was the middle of the day, and no one was around.
“You don’t have anything to make up to me,” she said softly, an apologetic look on her face.
“Come here.”
Katherine turned as Luke gently ran his fingers through her long hair, lathering in the lightly fragrant soap for her. When Luke was tired and didn’t know how to communicate, he would often offer to wash or brush her hair, a very primitive form of affection.
Katherine never refused, always appreciating the way his hands slowly worked through her hair, as he was terrified of snagging it.
“You have the most beautiful hair,” Luke murmured, lightly planting a kiss on the base of her neck. “You’re so beautiful.”
She closed her eyes as she felt his hands still working, washing the last of the soap out of her hair as they traveled down to her shoulders, massaging them with care. She felt beyond safe with him, to the point of feeling like she was on some sort of floating cloud.
Katherine sighed internally as she felt his strong, taut chest pressing against her back. Luke, she had always thought, was built like a god. And she would’ve much rather worshipped him than Zeus, or Hermes, or whoever.
“You know,” Luke murmured as she turned back around to face him. “When I first sensed the baby, like how Chiron said Hermes is actually associated with fertility and stuff like that… I felf so happy,” he expressed.
She nodded silently, understanding the feeling.
“Before I even knew what I was sensing,” he added, sighing wistfully. “I miss that feeling.”
“Me too,” she sighed, as Luke held his hand to her cheek, thumb lightly tracing back and forth as he tried to stop her budding frown from spreading.

The Night We Met (again)
Pairing - Tristan (tsfgae) x fem reader
Summary - You missed him for 4 years, until the faithful night came
Warning - none
Tumblr media
Y/n always loved reading, especially fairytales. She would spend all nights at the library of her village, which was suprisingly still open at midnight. She would read books labeled "SGE" with two swans everynights, she would sit at the same table as him everynights, he would peek glance at her everynights, he would writ about her golden eyes everynights, yet they never asked who was their library kindred spirit. Until one night, he never showed up again.
Tumblr media
It been four years since you last saw him.
Even thought you never got his name or any informations about him, each times you would see him at the back of the library with his usual dip pen and notebook of peotry, you couldn't help but admire the way he was so delicat in his choice of words.
Each times he would have finish writing a poetry, he would show it to you and you would be atonished by the way he could express himself throught enchanting line. It was as if he had a magic skill for it. He even made you a gift, he gave you one of the first peotry notebooks he ever made when he noticed how you loved his writing.
But he was gone.
He disappear in a snap as if he never existed. Some says that he ran away, some says that he was kidnapped, some says that he was chosen to go in a school coming out of fairytales. A school for good and evil, where each tales would begin.
The last rumor was really interesting. A school that would educate the good and the evil of all the fairytales you've read would be a blessing. You dreamt of it day and night.
"Y/n ! Stop daydreaming about your fairytales and put your siblings to bed please !!" You heard from downstairs the voice of Ms. Wondbloom, the principale of the orphanage you were staying at. She was kind, she was like a mother to you and more than fifteen other kids. You loved her so much
Sighing, you glanced at the window one last time before making your way down, seeing all of the other orphans playing, laughing and jumping around. You were the oldest one in this geriatic place. Most of the villagers thought that you were grotesque, weird and an outcast due to your golden eyes, even your real parents left you in the dirt once your eyes change their colors. The only one who actually knew your true self were they other young souls of the orphanage, Ms. Wondbloom and Ms. Worm-the-beyond the keeper of the library down the village.
"Y/n ! I invit you to my princesses tea party !" Lilly, a 6 years old girl tugged your poor nightgown and you smiled softly at her.
"We will play tomorrow dear Lilly, for now, everyone go to their beds !" You announced and all the children groaned or whined around you.
"Do not complain kids. Off to bed !" You repeated yourself and all the children cleaned their playing space before rushing to the single shared dormitory the orphanage owned.
"Y/n ! Tell us a story !" A red haired boy exclaimed and every young spirits of the room agreed causing you to let out a chuckle.
"Not tonight Jonn, but tomorrow I promise I will share with you two stories." You smiled as all the kids were satified with your answer.
Kissing each of their forehead one by one, you wished the joyful children a good night each before going toward your own room.
"Y/n." Lilly called out in a whisper and you hummed, turning toward her bed which was the closest to the door.
"You promise we'll drink our princesses tea together tomorrow ?" The young girl asked and you smiled sitting at the edge of her bed.
"I promise, now off to sleep." You kissed her forehead before walking out of the children room.
Once you arrived in your room, you sat behind your desk, taking your dip pen a starting to writ a letter, a poem.
A poem about him.
The redish moonlight shone between your soft curtain as you wrote down your feelings for him on the soft white paper with your dark ink. You loved him. Even thought he was a total stranger he was charming, really charming.
Letting out a dreamy sigh, you lifted your eyes from your paper only to see red eyes. Blood red eyes staring at you from the window. Your scream reasoned throught the whole orphanage as you rushed out of your privat space once the shadow broke into your room.
"Y/n ? What is happening ?" You heard Ms. Wondbloom's voice and were about to reach the top of the stairs when something caugh your ankle.
"No no no- Help !" You cried in pure terror while trying to caught yourself on anything near by.
All the commotion surely woke up every children as all of them hurried out of their shared room and gasped in horror as they saw their mother trying to save their older sister.
"Please don't let me go ! Don't let me go !" Tears began to stain your face as you felt Ms. Wondbloom's grip lose around your wrist.
"Don't let me go ! PLEA-" You felt yourself being taken away from your mother figure as you were drained on the ground in a sped.
"Y/n !!"
"We need to get her !"
"Y/n wait for us !"
All of your siblings were calling your name, trying to run after you as you were taken in direction of the dark forest, only the blood red moonlight was a source of light between the trees and the branchs as the distance between you and your family grew by the second.
"Y/N !" Lilly cried as you disappeared further in the dark.
"LILLY !" Your voice echoed throught the forest as the unknow shadow kept pulling you with them
And after a few more minutes, it finally let you go. But you were lost. In the middle of the cold night, you didn't knew how to go back to the orphanage nor the village.
Standing up from the ground, you brushed off the dirt on your nightgown and looked around with fear. What was happening ? What was that strange thing that kidnapped you and took you away from everything you loved ? Before you could ask yourself further questions, you noticed a strange bird looking shadow flying down directly toward your figure.
'Not again ! Please not again !' You thought and tried to run away.
But it was useless of course. The huge and hideous bird already caught you in its claws and it didn't seem as if you were going to be free anytime soon.
"Please take me back home !" You pleaded yet the bird acted deaf toward your request.
"You need to take me baACK- woah ! Please calm down !" You gripped its claws and this time it obey you, slowering it peace.
Flying throught the midnight sky, you slowly started to drift off to sleep, until the bird took a sharp turn and you widen your eyes before gasping at the sign in front of you.
Two huge castles stood by you.
The castle at the right was beautiful, divine even. Its golden color was similar to your eyes. The place looked delightful, as if any wishes would be heard and acknowledge in it.
The castle at the left thought... It was more dark, unfriendly, spiteful. The water at it bottom was dirtier than anything you've ever seen and it towers weren't any better.
Passing by the hideous school, you saw another bird not far away, going in the direction you came from. Yet, once you reached the top of the angelic castle, you felt the bird grap's on your shoulders losen.
"W-what ?! N-No !" You were freed in the middle of the sky.
And you knew that after a fall like this one, people would most likely to not be fine, or even alive.
'I don't wanna die ! I don't wanna die ! I don't wanna die !' You kept chanting in your mind curving yourself in a ball, preparing for the impact.
But instead of meeting a cold and rough ground in a painful collision, you felt yourself met a soft and very perfumed cloud.
"W-what ?" You sat up hesitant before checking around your surrounding.
You were in a bunch of flowers. You've fallen in a bunch of beautiful flowers softly laying on the ground in a circle just big enought for oneself to lay on.
"Miss ! Is everything okay ?" You heard a voice from behind.
The voice was oddly familiar yet you weren't familiar with the place at all. It was as if you just changed of dimension. Turning around, your eyes fell on a boy figure not far away from your position.
"Miss, are you alright ?" The boy hustled to your side and your eyes widen once you saw his face.
It was him.
"You..." You breathed out as he stood in front of you with a shocked expression that quickly turned into a soft smile.
It really was him. Your library boy, your peot crush. The one that would always be looking at you with adoration in his hazel eyes. He looked like a prince in his nightgown, a pencil and notebook in a hand while the other tuckled a strand of your hair behind your ears. You were left speechless at the sign in front of you. He was really standing there.
"We met again... At midnight once more... Four years in between, the same night, at the same moment." The boy took your hand helping you to stand up and you immediatly took him in a warm hug.
"It really is you ! It's the night we met again !"

Imagine if Tonks hadn't died...
Harry helped Albus get to the platform 9 3/4, followed by Ginny and Lily. James was ahead of them, probably searching for Teddy. He'd promised he'd be there for Al and James' momentary goodbye. Harry's second son was quite sensitive, unlike his first born James, whom since the first moment he was born decided he wanted to be independent and cause trouble wherever he went.
Ever since Remus passed away, Tonks dedicated all her time to raise little Teddy. Harry helped her as much as she let allowed him, until he got old enough to go to Hogwarts. Tonks was now dating a new man. She met him while working as an Auror for the ministry. His name was John and he accepted Tonks and Teddy for what they were. Even though Tonks' heart was still aching for Remus' absence, she knew he was looking after all of them. They had become a big family. Ron and Hermione with their two children, and Harry and Ginny with theirs.
'Nice to meet you here, Tonks' Harry said with a smile on his face. A handsome face that was now starting to get some wrinkles on it. Harry was not a kid anymore, and that was the hardest part for Tonks because it meant that it had been nineteen years since he had seen Remus alive, amongst many others that had not been able to get older like Harry did.
'Teddy wanted to come and promised he'd help me do the house chores. I thought he'd be a clean teenager. You saw how he treats his poor room!'
'He treats his room the way you and I do. Ginny is always shouting over dirty clothes all over the floor. Lily is the only one who seems to be organized' Harry said thoughtfully
'Good thing Albus is my Godson, then. I would have corrupted Lily, and Ginny would snap at me for it every chance she gets' Tonks commented with a smirk, watching how Teddy and James went from laughing to arguing about something.
'You should go there and put an end to their discussion, Harry. Those two have a weird bond. They love each other, yet they can't tolerate to be around the other for more than five minutes'
'I wonder if my dad and Remus were like this during their years at Hogwarts' Harry added before heading towards the boys.
Once the train parted, they all left the station and headed to their respective flats. Tonks and Teddy loved being around each other. Teddy had lost his father at a very young age, but he had had amazing fatherly figures that helped him grow and be a strong and polite young man. Without meaning to, she fell asleep on the couch, forgetting about all the chores they were supposed to be getting done that day. Teddy's voice woke her up a few hours later.
'Mom, Harry sent us a message with his new owl! He finally got one!' Teddy exclaimed while holding his arm to support the weight of the giant bird. It was a snowy owl with a beautiful amber eye color. It looked just like Hedwig.
'What does the message say?' Asked Tonks.
'He wants us to go to their flat tonight. He says he's cooking this time!' Teddy announced excitedly, making the owl fly from his arm to Tonks' shoulder.
'Tell him we're going to be there, then. Good thing Ginny is not the one cooking. Remember when she burnt the turkey and we had to make pizza?'
Teddy laughed. It sounded just like Remus' laugh. If she hadn't had Remus' baby there would be nothing left of him. Their story wouldn't feel real enough as time went by.
They did their chores, bathed and got ready to visit the Potter's. It was not the life Tonks dreamt of living. Not if Remus was not there to hug her or sing their son lullabies when Teddy was young enough to be carried around. Most of them had had the chance to grow white hairs, and for that she was grateful. A second chance to live with the people she loved most was all she could ask for. They'd keep fighting for Remus and Fred. For James and Sirius. For Moody and Albus. For all those heroes who made their desire of a peaceful present a beautiful reality.

Kitty dashed a hand across each wet cheek, feeling far too much like a child trying to hide their emotions. Isn't that what it all came down to tonight? Feeling like a kid? Like she would never be able to grow into the person she truly was in the eyes of her friends. Kurt's weight depressed the mattress next to her, his knee brushed her own as his hand touched her face again to guide her gaze to Kurt's glowing eyes.
Perhaps those eyes didn't see her the way she had assumed. If he was offering what he was offering. The blue mutant often called Kitty a number of random monikers in german that she assumed were complimentary. Rarely did she ask point blank what they meant. Kurt was affectionate with his team mates. But when he called her 'liebling' or 'darling' perhaps he had been telling her all along.... She wished now she had been more diligent in looking all the words up. Or at least kept up with her german lessons on Duolingo.
Languages aside, the rest of what Kurt said left very little open to interpretation. Had she not always known in her heart that Kurt would not laugh at her inexperience? After all, she had gone to him for advice. The rest though- Worship. Gift. Love... Each word had the hope nestled in her chest, long thought dead, singing joyously.
Especially Love.
Tumblr media
Kitty surged forward into his lap, throwing her arms around Kurt's neck as she pressed her lips against his in a kiss she'd dreamt of a dozen times. There was nothing slow or inexperienced about this kiss with teeth and tongue and desperation. They were in familiar territory currently, though she had gone there with Kurt.
Everything was perfect until the dark uncertainly began to make itself known once more. Did he mean the word in the same way she longed to confess in return? Kurt was a shameless and prolific flirt and he loved their other teammates too. Would he sleep with them just for fun? Or worse, just to ensure Pete Wisdom didn't have them?
Kitty broke the kiss, chest rising and falling as she caught her breath. "What exactly are you offering?" Had to know before she went passed a point she could not return from...though after having tasted his lips she was probably already there. "Just one night or..."
Please please please love me...
this was not the first time a boy made kitty cry, unfortunately. what made it unbearable, however, was that it was the first time (that he explicitly knew of) kurt had made her cry. and for the life of him he could not figure out why she would shed her tears unless there was some glimmer of hope that they were for the thing between them that never became.
the thing he refused to admit to, the thing he could have sworn she had to have felt too, the thing that had a name but it felt too holy to utter it yet without coupling it with the proper adoration and worship it deserved.
his chest ached.
kurt pushed off the door and moved with the agility his body granted him, often used in pursuit of frightening things but never something this terrifying.
he fell to the bed, ungainly and heavy, one leg curled under himself, the other hanging off the edge of the bed. their knees pressed together as he leaned in and grasped her cheek with the three-pronged hand.
Tumblr media
kurt shook his head, laughing at how stupid his own answer was, "nein, liebling, because i would never laugh at you if i were your first. because i would make you know the meaning of worship, of what it means to be given the gift of your choice. because he would be nice but i would be better and you deserve the best and you deserve to do it with someone who loves you."

[1:06 am] best friend!taehyun x reader
"are you asleep?" taehyun whispered towards the ceiling, but really it was directed at you.
it was yet another night where you and your best friend were having a sleepover—an occurrence that has been a staple in your friendship since you were young kids. you would think that this would be uncomfortable now that you were both nearing the age of adulthood, but it never was uncomfortable. in fact, the security that you felt in his presence and embrace only grew stronger, but you would never tell him that.
tonight, you were lying facing away from him and him laying on his back but surely, you would wake up in each other's arms.
he received no response. you were still awake, but something told you to remain quiet as if you were asleep like he assumed.
he went silent for a bit.
"you know, as best friends, we promised to tell each other anything no matter what," he started, his voice as low as a whisper. "so, i think it's right for me to tell you this even if you can't hear it. actually, i prefer that you don't hear it," he chuckled quietly.
"it's difficult for me to keep my beating heart stable when i'm around you. it's been years, yet it still beats so rapidly like i'm seeing you for the first time," he smiled to himself.
"i watched you grow, you watched me grow. we've been a part of each other's life more than we've been apart and it scares me. it scares me how i've inevitably grown feelings for you. it scares me that it might cost everything that we've built," he paused, gulping. he definitely felt crazy for speaking all of his thoughts out into the air at dawn, but he would probably turn crazier if he bottled this up longer than he already did.
he closed his eyes and sighed sadly. "i don't want to lose you so i keep all of this hidden but god, you just drive me insane sometimes. it takes me so much self-control not to kiss you right then and there when you pout about something or just when you're sitting there, looking ever so pretty without fail,"
"you are my night and my day, my heart and a part of my soul. one day, i will find the courage to tell you this, but only when i'm sure that i won't scare you away," with an anxious heart, he turned his body towards you and relief washed over him as he saw your still figure and steady breathing.
you on the other hand, were doing all that you can to remain calm and restrain yourself from doing anything impulsive. you were practically on cloud 9 as you listened to the person you have been hopelessly pining over confess to you, but it was also a vulnerable moment for him and he surely didn't want you to be aware of anything he was saying tonight. it was only right of you to respect that and let him keep his dignity.
taehyun moved closer to you and wrapped an arm around your waist. your heart went crazy at the action, yet you still tried to remain calm on the outside. his touches were always warm and elicited a small spark but tonight, it was as if fireworks were shooting out of his fingertips.
he snuggled behind you and sighed in content. "i'll let you know one day, my love. until then, i hope you start seeing me as a man. maybe then, i'll find the confidence to tell you how i've been madly in love with you since we were in kindergarten," he finished with a soft kiss on your temple and let sleep consume him as he held you tight.
'i've always seen you as a man,' you wanted to tell him. instead, you let a smile blossom on your face. it was a confession that was more than what you ever dreamt of receiving from him. it made you feel excited for what his actual confession would be like.
you wouldn't have to wait longer than you already have. it was a quick decision that you would keep quiet about this night, but you would start dropping hints that you were in love with him and much as he was in love with you. you hoped he would catch on to them, but taehyun is smart. he definitely would.
you let out a soft sigh of content and let yourself melt in his embrace. soon, you would be able to finally have the man of your dreams and you couldn't wait for the day to arrive.
