hi first of all, before people say I'm supporting a predator, I am not. I'd like to stay neutral within theses allegations, as I have seen alot of both sides of the argument (there are alot of strengths and weaknesses to both sides of the argument which is why id also like to remain neutral and not have an opinion untill its all confirmed) unfortunately this is the world we live in and there has been many situations i have seen were the 'victims' are lying and i feel like i cannot teust anyone but if it is true my heart goes to the victims but yet again these are only allegations for now we have no way of proving anything yet.

But there is one question I'd like to ask, anyone can answer for all I care whether you support him or not. Why are we bring his religion into this? In my opinion I don't see the connection, okay maybe he's in some dodgy cult but what's that got to do with him bing a alleged predator? Also like in my last post, I don't know why we are unnecessarily involving who have nothing to do with the allegations.

One more point I'd like to bring up is how we are complaining about jutty being immature get we are spamming emails on the ghost management to fire jutty, I understand you want to feel safe in a ritual whenever that may be as do i, but tobias will no way in hell make a public statement about it as swiss and jutty are 'two separate beings' in the world of ghost and the public world and I doubt tobias is unaware of this situation as it is serious. And if the other unmasked ghouls don't want to comment about it or get involved please respect their decisions.

J.R.C.G. — Grim Iconic​.​.​.​(​Sadistic Mantra) (Sub Pop)

There are two places to start when talking about Grim Iconic​.​.​.​(Sadistic Mantra), the new album from  Justin R. Cruz Gallego. The first is the previous album credited to J.R.C.G., Ajo Sunshine, released by Castle Face in 2021. The other is YÚ, the 2019 album from Dreamdecay, all of whose members can be heard here. Dreamdecay’s most recent recording was a two-song single, N/O, released on Sub Pop the same year. Ajo Sunshine was sun-damaged instrumental music, while YÚ seemed designed to remind aging punks drifting into the world of psychedelia that they need not choose one or the other. Not surprisingly, Grim Iconic​.​.​.​(​Sadistic Mantra) splits the difference between the two — but also heads into some previously-uncharted terrain for Gallego.

Even if you didn’t know beforehand that Gallego is a drummer, you could probably figure that out before listening to this for too long. The way that “34” slowly ushers the listener into sonically disparate polyrhythms is one big indicator. The fact that it’s followed by a very different set of rhythms, along with a sinuous bassline, on “Dogear” is another sign that Gallego and his collaborators are interested in making music that’s both technically complex and hits on a visceral level.

The abstracted sensibility Gallego brought to the foreground on Ajo Sunshine can also be detected here on songs like “Junk Corrido,” which is propulsive on its own and but also sounds like an art installation where malfunctions are part of the appeal. (It’s not for nothing that Gallego’s other band has “decay” in its name.) Over the course of these nine songs, Gallego and company rarely repeat themselves from song to song. What’s more, they rarely repeat themselves within the same song itself.

For all of its disparate sonic influences, Gallego’s new album also channels the pleasure that comes from sudden shifts in volume and the roar of a distorted guitar making its entrance. The album’s title might include the word “sadistic,” but at its core this is a strikingly pleasurable listening experience.

Ghost sim dump pt.3: ghouls edition

I don't want to get too much into the weeds with this because I don't want to give it a lot of publicity. I just have some thoughts on the alleged Telegram group that is apparently cyber stalking the Sleep Token band members, sharing personal information about them, pictures, etc.

I remember seeing a video of Justin Bieber (don't care for his music, am indifferent overall to him as an artist) very nicely talking to a group of young girls camped out outside his home but at the same time almost exasperatedly begging them to leave him alone. They pretty much ignored him and tried to get hugs and autographs. I felt so bad for him. He looked tired.

I saw another video of Tobias Forge from Ghost where some fans figured out where he would be existing from a venue after a show and were waiting for him. His, I assume security team, were there and calmly explained to the fans that Tobias was tired, not feeling well, and while he would talk to them it would have to be kept short. A bit more amicable of an interaction but still made me feel bad for him.

I know I get thirsty on this blog and joke about how I want to eat/bite/or do things to the members of Sleep Token but it's very important to remember that these are real people and they deserve that separation between fans. It keeps them safe. They put their art out for us to enjoy and that's honestly it. If they want to interact with fans, they should be in control of that for safety reasons. We are not entitled to interactions of any kind. Write fanfic. Draw art. Talk with friends. That's how we can gush about how much we love Sleep Token.

I think that the majority of people on Tumblr's section of the fandom, from what I've seen, would not cross this boundary, but I just had some thoughts on my mind that I wanted to get out.

I hope everyone involved in Sleep Token is safe. Unfortunately this kind of behaviour won't stop but I hope it's more bluffing and lip service rather than any tangible threat.
