Scary Tales (1993)

I used to think AgFA would be too classy to release all this home made shot on video trash.Thank god they are not too classy cause baby neither am I. I remember renting this as a kid at a Jumbo video back before I understood and appreciated SOV films. But I was fascinated by it and a few others like it (creeptales or death row diner). It felt like someone snuck it in the video store as it wasnt supposed to be for mass consumption. Cheesy , sleazy, immature humor and filled with too many bad haircuts for any mainstream film in any year. There were many of these zero budget horror anthologies around that time but for a recent company to unearth this and clean up the film seems so unnecessary yet so wonderful. Something a few years ago I would  have thought impossible. Filled with hilarious backyard budgeted kills and monster effects that make you laugh and yet admire their passion. Dialoge equally brilliant as it is really stupid. These films always have great uninspired swear words like "I got your fucking ass right here bud" said in a friendly context. Don't  forget that bad sound and over amped bad keyboard music, muah it's delicious. Each story dwells on some dorky guy turns to murder or occult evil but honestly the plots are less important than the esthetic.  It makes you feel like late 80s midamerica mall food court loving country. A world were everyones basement is covered in fake wood tile walls. If you're a sov fan imagine Tim Ritter, a Polonia, Todd Jason Cook and Barry J Gillis that dude who made Things got really high made a horror anthology and totally forgot they did it. Or if you're not familiar with SOV films think if some high school students convinced local adults to get messy with fake blood for them. The best and the oh so worst of them all wrapped into one. In Scary Tales the least inspired story is also the most bloody so win win I figure. Seiously, after watching Tales of the Quadeadzone as many times as I have Scary Tales is fucking Shakspear.

Jimmy wrote music for the James Bond movie Licensed To Kill, a song called Wedding Party via his friendship with composer Michael Kamen. Jimmy also recorded in 1981 with Paul McCartney in Barbados.

Eternals is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Chloé Zhao, who wrote the screenplay with Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. It stars an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie. In the film, the Eternals, an immortal alien race, emerge from hiding after thousands of years to protect Earth from their ancient counterparts, the Deviants.

In April 2018, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that a film based on the Eternals had begun development, with Ryan and Kaz Firpo hired to write the script in May. Zhao was set to direct the film by late September, and was given significant creative freedom with the film, which resulted in filming on location more than previous MCU films. Zhao rewrote the screenplay, which Burleigh was later reported to have also contributed to. Principal photography took place from July 2019 to February 2020, at Pinewood Studios as well as on location in London and Oxford, England, and in the Canary Islands.

Eternals premiered in Los Angeles on October 18, 2021, and was released theatrically in the United States on November 5 in RealD 3D, Monoscopic 2D and 4DX, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. The film has grossed $281.4 million worldwide. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its themes and visuals, but criticized its exposition, pacing, run-time, and lack of character development.
