I ask simply that throughout the day God place in me the best understanding of His will that I can have for that day, and that I be given the grace by which I may carry it out. As the day goes on, I can pause when facing situations that must be met and decisions that must be made, and renew the simple request: "Thy will, not mine, be done."

I must always keep in mind that in every situation I am responsible for the effort and God is responsible for the outcome. I can "Let Go and Let God" by humbly repeating: "Thy will, not mine, be done." Patience and persistence in seeking His will for me will free me from the pain of selfish expectations.

Coldstar is a deeply religious tom. He consults the stars on a nightly basis, refusing to make any major decisions without their approval. Overall his leadership is stoic and collected.

Outside of his duties as a leader he is a quiet and reserved tom, mostly keeping to himself. He has few friends and even fewer whom he confides in. Out of shame he suppresses his own insecurities and doubts, considering them them to be signs that his faith is not strong enough.

I’ve been spending a lot of time throughout the last few days on magick and I have a confusion I need to pray and consult with other pagans/witches in AA on. I believe in magick and the concept of spells and manipulating the energy around us, but how does following the will of higher powers fit into that? Spells and rituals are performed for a specific reasons and with specific intentions, but how do i reconcile manipulating the energy of the universe to do my bidding with following the destiny and will given to me by the gods? If anyone has any ideas/answers to this question I would greatly appreciate it. I would love to talk to my sponsor about it, but she isn’t pagan and doesn’t do witchcraft. Advice is greatly appreciated.

[As Christians, we must be] focused on ridding ourselves of something that has become increasingly more common in today’s world: selfishness. What we do, not just in church, but outside of church cannot be done with a spirit of selfish ambition or conceit. Whether we are at work, at school, with friends, with family, in the marketplace, or serving in our place of leadership, our motives matter. The question we should be asking ourselves is not, “What is best for me?” Instead, we should be asking ourselves, “What is best for the Kingdom of God?” Our [overriding] ambition should be to find the best way to do the perfect will of God.

In Philippians 2:3-4 it says to do nothing in selfish-ambition or conceit. Nothing means nothing. When we’re doing everything for the good of the Kingdom of God instead of ourselves, how different will our lives look? 1 Corinthians 10:24 mirrors this principle, stating that nobody should seek their own good, but the good of others. How different would the church look if everyone operated with the good of others in mind? How different would the world look if no one operated from selfish ambition but for the good of others?

The next time we attempt to do anything for others, or for the Lord, let’s ask Him to reveal if our motivation is selfish. [Only He can rightly discern the true intentions of our hearts.]
