Nathan walked to school with a huff as he watched his pathetic little brother with Marinette. They had been officially dating for a little while now, everyone’s perfect definition of a couple. Gross.

Marinette grinned and laced her fingers with Felix’s, who visibly blushed and looked down with a smile. Pathetic. Oh, if she only knew… Nathan could do so much better and he knew it. 

The chance she had to go out with Nathan, the Nathan from the gym club, the one that everyone always wanted to date or attract the attention of. Marinette could’ve been the most popular girl in school, clad arm-in-arm with Nathan. She could’ve been powerful in that school, free to do whatever she wanted with whoever. 

But no, she decided to set her gaze on someone else. Not just anyone else, but Felix. Stupid, skrunkly Felix who couldn’t do anything right according to Nathan and their father. Ugh, don’t even get him started on their father. Their father, high and mighty in that colorless office of his, was of the opinion that Nathan and Felix were both failures. Everything they did was wrong, everything they did was meaningless. 

And maybe somewhere inside, Nathan was just lonely. Maybe he just wanted to have a chance to do something right, to be good enough for something. Someone. 

But no. That’d be ridiculous. Nathan liked to pretend he was better than everyone else to get away from that. And Marinette wanted no part in that.

“Marinette.” Nathan nodded as he marched past them, shoving Felix forward and almost toppling him.

“You don’t have to be so rude.” Marinette pouted, stamping her foot as she helped Felix regain his balance.

Nathan glared. “You don’t have to have such bad taste in men.” Felix shot him a look and silently kept walking. 

“Yeah, no kidding. I can’t believe I ever fell for you.” She sniffed with distaste as she tried to catch up to Felix.

Nathan growled under his breath, shoving his fists in his pockets. She could’ve had everything. She could’ve been everything. She could’ve been mine.

And that Felix. Nathan watched as Marinette slid into her seat, Felix tenderly sitting down next to her and silently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. He was so gentle, so elegant, so… so… so pitiful.

No doubt, Marinette agreed to love him because no one else would, this was Felix. Where Nathan feigned superiority to be better, Felix shut everyone out. He was about as romantically desirable as the Grinch. 

Which meant she had to be pitying him. Pretty predictable, all things considered, she was nothing if not nice to everyone, adopting every little charity project she could because she was nice like that, Nathan figured. 

Nathan shrugged off his thoughts as he entered the building and dozens of people visibly cleared the way for him as he stormed past, some even swooning on sight. But not Marinette. She was still chatting away with Felix as he followed her like a lost puppy. Again, pathetic. 

But whatever. It’s not like she was the entire world. Only she was, to several people, and Nathan was determined to get her out of Felix’s cold hands and awkward embrace, and into his warm loving arms. He would hold her, keep her warm, so she wouldn’t even have to ask him for his jacket, like Felix always offered his. 

He wouldn’t be shy when she held his hand. She wouldn’t have to search for kisses and affection. She wouldn’t have to wait for him to make a move. She wouldn’t have to wonder if he was uncomfortable. 

He wouldn’t be Felix. 

But she didn’t want that. 

But whatever.

Waterpark au Sun and Moon now in color!!!

I still need to finish their ref sheets for art-fight but I’m so so happy to finally have them colored!

Moon’s platings are colored and textured to mimic wood grains, over that he is “painted” with varying tones of blues and teals.

Sun’s platings resemble painted Aztec stone with vibrant cool and warm colors, some of the “stone” remains bare.

Up close, guests can see that both animatronics designs have intentional weathering to really sell their imagined materials.

finally finished my mane six redesigns! ive been toying around with these for ages now. height comparison and design notes under the cut!

earth ponies are naturally stocky, with tough hooves covered only partially by their fetlocks. very strong tails which they can use to sweep or whack things. their snouts dont curve like other ponies

pegasi are typically lithe, with hollow bones. their coats are thicker than other ponies, designed to keep them warm at high altitudes. their hooves are covered by a thin layer of velvet to keep them protected during flying. they also have excellent hearing! hence their longer ears

unicorns are considered graceful and beautiful. they have cloven hooves, and long fetlocks. their hair tends to be wavy. their have long tails that serve only for aesthetics. they have shorter, more smooth snouts. they also, regardless of gender, have beards!

each of the pony races have a "heart mark" on their back left hoof, which first appears as a simple heart at birth, and later changes to match their cutie mark more closely

applejack; her tail is kept short to avoid it getting in the way of work. the green in her mane comes from her pear blood. her cutie mark is meant to look like a quilt piece. similarly, her handkerchief is filled with references to her family and loved ones. lastly, her hat has stitching of a gem and a heart

fluttershy; i gave her a very deer like appearance, and markings on her wings to resemble birds. her ears are a bit longer, to resemble a bunny! she has small wings that are really only good for gliding. shes part unicorn (idk i just thought itd be cute if one of her parents was a unicorn) she used to keep her mane long but rarity was horrified by how many twigs and leaves she picked up, so she convinced shy to cut it. she quite likes it!

pinkie pie; PIEBALD PINKIE. gave her blue stripes to bring cotton candy to mind. her design is very asymmetrical which just feels very pinkie! even her eyes, they heterochromatic. the left being blue, and the right yellow. she keeps her hair up most of the time so it doesnt get in her way (during baking, party planning, baby sitting, ect) ALSO FAT PINKIE RIGHTS

rainbow dash; i wanted her coat to resemble the sky, hence the markings on her legs. her mane and tail are kept short to keep them out of her way. she is rarely seen without googles, as she wears them when she flys to protect her eyes

rarity; FAT RARITY RIGHTS. ahem. her eyes are green (small play on being green with envy) and she has poor eyesight, so she wears her glasses regularly. honestly, hers is pretty simple but i wanted it to be elegant, and beautiful

twilight sparkle; her design more closely resembles the sky at twilight now. deep purple fading into golden yellow. i had to keep her pink, but swapped purple in her hair for yellow cause the rainbow power ups got One thing right (also lends more cohesion to her design) becoming an alicorn granted star markings across her coat, which you can see constellations in! (only two but.. shush) i also changed her hair to resemble equestria girl's scitwi more. its just a cute look

It's not spiderverse and i gave up halfway with the shadows because i no longer have time to work on it, but i thought it was decent enough to put here.

Overall, it was a nice exercise.
