Whatever you do, don't think about Beverly Jitney-Bush who is the third girl in the soc trio, because there is always a duo in a trio, and she met Marcia and Cherry too late to be a part of it. Don’t think about Bev who knows that her place in the group is dependent on her relationship with Brill because she isn’t THAT close with the girls and as much as they all love her, none of the boys would ever take her side over Brill’s, bro code, is what they call it. She’s not really worried, because she knows Brill and her are getting married someday, she would just like to have something like that for herself. Don’t think about how she longs for sleepovers and doing each other's makeups and hair and talking about boys with the other girls, but ends up spending most of her time with Paul, Bob and the rest of the boys. It’s not like Cherry and Marcia are trying to exclude her, they all hangout and gossip and all that, it’s just glaringly obvious that Bev doesn’t quite fit in the tight-knit sister-like bond the two of them share. And there’s always something inside of her that feels like she’s intruding when the three of them hangout on their own. Don’t think about how when Bob dies she is grief-ridden and out for blood and she needs a culprit, someone to blame, someone to make pay for what’s happened and she got mean and ruthless and so, so angry. Don’t think about how all the resentment she didn’t know she had been harboring for Cherry finally bubbles over because it’s her fault, isn’t it? If she hadn’t talked to that greaser kid, Bob wouldn’t have been so angry and seeking revenge and he would still be here. Don’t think about how a small, terrible part of her hopes that maybe, if Cherry is out of the picture, her and Marcia will have a chance to become the sister-like power duo instead.

ooooh for ur epic au i love the idea of the other winners as the gods! i think scott - aphrodite works really well with his focus on the social aspect of the game, and martyn - ares fits too bc of mean gills, and him just generally being pretty aggressive! cleo - hephaestus is a good match for personality and watcher!grian - zeus absolutely fucks. pearl and scar don’t fit as neat with apollo or hera, but i do know scar would absolutely rock the disco look lmao

Honestly yeah you are pretty much spot on with what I was thinking

Grian as Zeus: Watcher, maker of the games, first winner as the technical eldest god, “thunder bringer” smites Scott to end Last life

Cleo as Hephaestus: “Trust is not given its forged….. he sacrificed his own cohorts” loyal to their day one allies until they do something to break that trust (most notably Big B killing her in last life) and fire (arson)

Martyn as Ares: literally what you said about Mean gills and Martyn in the life series in general, the ending of limlife is so Ares coded

For Aphrodite I was between Scott and Pearl

Scott because as you said, he is very social in the games and is one to love his allies wholeheartedly (man can’t go one season without sacrificing himself to a friend when he is able to) plus one head canon I’ve seen is that the watchers are unable to feed on Scott because he’s just so full of love for his allies (flower husbands, the healing GGGs, mean gills, etc) but even love can be ruthless when need to be

Pearl on the other hand is more so the opposite focusing more on how she knows the pain of being alone “but let her die of a broken heart… let him feel the pain that his mother felt and rot” the winner of double life, the one series where everyone was meant to have someone, she was scorned by everyone around, rejected by her bound, called wicked by people who could have been friends and in the end died without her one true companion, Tilly. But in the same with the following games, she is in a way “healing”. From then on she is never alone (nosey neighbors, mounders, 4Gs and the adopted strays) and makes sure her allies know that she will stand with them

Scar I did have trouble with placing him but honestly him as Hera is a fantastic idea. Like Hera in god games comes off as very carefree in a way but still a threat which is kind of how Scar plays the games (I’m mainly thinking of wild life with the bamboozlers and the rollercoaster) plus the “never once has he cheated in his wife” makes me think of Athena!Gem saying that and Scar just gets flashbacks to double life and the “secret soulmates” which becomes infinitely more funny/angsty since Grian is Zeus

Plus yes he would absolutely rock the disco look I mean just look at his limited life skin

But yeah Apollo is the one I can’t really place with a life winner

Nobody follows me for Honkai stuff as far as i'm aware but who gives a shit. this is Rêverose, she's a Knight of Beauty and she hates herself because she "wasn't pious enough" to stop the Fall of Idrila. TBH she couldn't have stopped that shit she just has a lot of self-hate and other issues

I was hyperfixating on Wonderland and Descendants and I wanted to come up with OCs for the Hatter’s kids but then I realized that the canon Facilier kids already wear little top hats and Dr. Facilier ALSO wears a top hat, so I went “hmm what if the canon Facilier kids have the Mad Hatter as a mom, they don’t have a known mom in canon soooo….” And so it all started

okay i FINALLY watched kung fu panda 4 and i have a lot of thoughts, especially about the parallels between tai lung and zhen. tai lung was taken in by shifu, who loved him and believed in him but took pride in him to a fault, leading to the arrogance and entitlement that was tai lung's downfall; zhen was taken in by the chameleon, who criticized her and used her and acted only out of self interest, a belief system that ultimately lead to zhen's rebellion. two young kids each given a chance by a master, one of them with kindness and excessive leniency, the other with mal-intent and no room for error. tai lung and zhen could've easily swapped places and each of them turned out differently. it's so fascinating, and a very smart writing choice to bring tai lung back into focus in conjunction with the the introduction of zhen's character.

PHOTO DUMP for my storage vault!! it's underneath a small (real gold and emerald block) totem statue I made years ago, and each path off the main chamber leads to a honey slide and bubble elevator drop, with a path at the bottom that forks around and meets at the purpur + amethyst geode roof chamber before going into another storage room

that forking path I didn't show bc im still iffy on the jungle planks for the walls but I really like the circular chambers I've made and it's been a great excuse to use lots of blocks I love but never've had a chance to build with ^_^
