Just watched Fitting In (2023) and I really liked it
It basically follows a 16 yo girl who was born without a uterus and vagina and we see her journey through her diagnosis and what she does to feel better basically
ALSO there is an intersex character and they talk about their journey as well and it's fucking amazing, I have never seen an intersex character on screen so I was so happy
Really recommend it👏

Got super overstimulated at a burger king cause I've never been to a burger king and so I don't know their menu and how their food tastes like, I always eat at the same places like KFC or McDonald's, and since we're in Germany I don't understand anything. We went to the self checkout, and not only I don't speak the language, the burgers didn't even have their ingredients listed for my dad to translate for me, so I had no idea what is he ordering for us and there was a lot of people and I felt like I'm going to throw up. I went outside to wait there for my dad, and while I was standing there, rocking in place and holding myself, some German lady in a car asked me something, I told her in English that I don't speak German so she asked her teenage kid to talk to me in English, and they asked me if everything's okay, I just told them that I'm fine but got a bit stressed out bc there was a big crowd inside. That was really sweet and calmed me down a bit. Now we're back in the car, and I'm blasting Patty Taxxon in my headphones to calm down and eating Fries cause I still don't know what's in the burgers we got
#for the record my dad didnt like order something i wouldnt like on purpose#he doesnt know burger king food either so he kinda just went with it and got something random for us#but the difference between us is that hes okay with trying new things and surprising himself with the food he orders#im autistic and eating something new makes me nauseous#especially since I couldn't even check what is in the food so its a complete surprise#i dont know if ill even touch the burgers and now i feel bad bc dad bought them all with his money#but just the thought of having to eat something and not knowing what it's exactly made of and how will it taste makes me wanna throw up#they could be the best burgers id ever eat in my life but i cant force myself to try them#even the fries taste different than what im used to and that makes me uncomfortable#shout out to that kid though#they were really nice#bee buzz

#star trek#Vulcans#Humans#not based on a specific thing#but I used to know this annoying couple that were ‘family friends’#who would show up to potluck dinners and the like and would either bring nothing or bring something really just. out of left field?#like a bag of frozen chicken to a bbq#and then proceed to make sure they are first even if it was stated to let kids go first#would take HUGE amounts before anyone else got a chance to get a plate#and then make off with the leftovers again even if they were already claimed for#and it wasn’t a food insecurity thing trust me I would never speak bad about a person getting food if that was even a remote chance#the adults who raised us knew them really well and we’d been to their house a ton of times#they were just dicks#and yeah. they’d occasionally insult the food. while eating the MAJORITY of it.#it was so weird at their home they would go out of their way to get the healthiest options possible#you know the really bland tasteless expensive stuff that apparently was healthier#but then if they were visiting our house they would. eat all our unhealthy snacks.#that always pissed me off so much as a kid because we actually had a food insecurity thing going on#and also a variety of other reasons that are a bit too depressing to bring up on this post#but anyways we’d hardly ever get to have nice snacks#and this couple would just take them all??? even after we’d tell them repeatedly that it was ours and those snacks weren’t gonna be#replaced#hated that couple#if you’re wondering why they were ‘family friends’ it’s because the couple who raised us#(it feels weird to type it out like that but apparently legal guardians doesn’t fit since they never finished petitioning 💀)#liked having them around because it made them look like ‘such great Christian’s’ being nice to the people#that no one else wanted to be friends with#I always thought that was a really weird and fucked up reason to be friends with someone#this got long sorry 😭

after having an entire hour long conversation with my coworkers about what "degendering" is, and the importance of using trans people's pronouns when you know them- rather than always defaulting to "they/them" no matter what- and still getting "they/them"ed by people I trusted not to fucking do that to me, I have decided that the name and pronouns circle of introductions for new additions to the group will now include the very clearly stated boundary that they do not use "they/them" pronouns for me.

#the positive end of this is that i happened to be the first non-cis person to introduce myself in the circle#and two nonbinary(?) people after me both followed suit & elaborated on like#which pronouns were okay AND which pronouns they actually preferred people use for them/how they use them#which was really cool!!#usually they've just given the list of which ones were okay#so it was nice to have the detailed insight and also nice to see them asset boundaries
