「 ✦ 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓼 ✦ 」
helloooooooooooooooooooo welcome back (i started like a freaking youtuber LOL) part 1 was emmm, it was a rollercoaster. A BIG ONE
— ୨୧₊˚ click here to read part 1 :)
im super super super excited for this part 'cause finally something cute is happening, literally those things that happened in part 1... WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT IT. WE WENT THROUGH IT, AND WE ARE BACK. part 2. let's do it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
「 ✦ 6th year ✦ 」
𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓮 - 6𝓽𝓱 𝔂𝓮𝓪𝓻
summer 1976 - I left grimmuald place 12 and ran away to remus. sirius did the same some weeks before me, and we were both burn out of the "Black Family Tree"
July/August - James Potter and Lily are named Head Boy and Head Girl.
October/November - Lily finally agreeded and started to go out with James for some dates
this are basics from og timeline because i don't want to spoil anything
SUM MER
— ୨୧₊˚ a little reminder about what happened in last part - me and remus got together, and basically we are girlfriend and boyfriend, we spent time with each other more, trying to get ourselves more into this change yk 🥹
OKAY ANYWAY
after last day of school me and remus promised ourselves that we will write to each other as much as possible. boys did not know about ‘us’ because we didn’t know if this whole relationship will work 😭 so it was our little secret, but not for long tho
in july, when me and sirius were back at grimmuald place, sirius got himself into a HUGE fight with our father, and said to me “idk what you gonna do, but i will not stay here any longer”. he did not tell me where would he go, some days after this fight he left in a middle of the night. he just left me a note to do the same, and that in some weeks he will let me know where he is. i kept that ‘letter’ to myself.
when i tell you that walburga was PISSED. P I S S E D . as well as our father. they would fight over it, and finally, when it was clear that sirius is not coming back, they burned sirius face out of this family tree.
ar least they are proud of regulus 👍 good job mate. you will die. soon. like girllllll
especially that i’m super attached to him. he is my little brother and i knooooow that when i will shift again his death is gonna hit me like a train, BUT WE DONT TALK ABOUT THIS RN LETS GET BACK
when sirius left walburga was super suspicious about me and always was looking at me, controlled everything etc. i knew that if she would find out about remus, she would probably punish me for it or smth, so i sent last letter to remus that he should not write to me because my parents went WILD over this whole situation.
in august i felt empty??? i could not get any letters from remus, i missed him, i missed sirius. he did not sent me any letter after he left, but i knew that it’s probably because he knew what the hell is going on in the house rn. also, regulus started to ignore me, like walburga and orion did. annnnnnnndddddd that’s when i didn’t back off, and started shouting at him (reggie) and when walburga heard it, she wasn’t happy 💀💀 so she decided to fucking punish me, but this time i was like “hell no, fuck off” and the same night i left grimmuald place 12 behind me, in my past. i took everything i could with me, some clothes, books, and it was whole huge operation, because walburga and orion are those kind of people that when something moves behind some walls, they wake up. so what i did, was that i added sleep potion that i made in my room to their drinks that they were having before going to sleep. well, it worked HA.
but when i left this house, i was like “bombastic, but what am i going to do now 😭😭😭😭😭 i was literally without any house, i did not want to bother anybody, especially that it was 2am in the morning 💀 andromeda did not tell us where she lived so i had no idea where i should go, and the only person that i could think of then was remus. i knew where he lived, he wrote me his address in one of letters i got from him.
so i went there. by foot. call me crazy but i did that. i took some muggle bus and was on his street around 4am. i knew it was very early but i hoped that he will not be mad about it, or his father. they were living at the edge of london, it was quiet and lovely place to live. when i was looking round for his house, as there were only few of them, i looked up and i saw that it was full moon 😭 and i didn’t realise that before. so i was still looking for around like 25 minutes, and i finally found it. AND YOU SHOULD’VE SEEN MY FACE WHEN I SAW THAT LIGHT IN THE HOUSE WERE TURNED ON
LYALL LUPIN WAS AWAKE
THANK GOD
so i went to the door and knocked. i saw some movement in the window and was like “yuppp this man will think that i’m a freak. good job to me i guess” i waited a few minutes and he finally opened the door. i started apologising to him that i’m sorry that i’m here at 4 in the morning, that i know his son etc. then he fully opened the door and it wasn’t lyall lupin IT WAS REMUS 😭😭😭😭 i literally was so so so happy, i mean, he was shocked, i was shocked too because i thought that it was a full moon that night, i hugged him and he hugged me back IT WAS SO CUTE IM ABOUT TO CRY I WANNA GO BACK THERE SO BADLY
so we stayed in this position for some minutes and he finally made a step back, looked at me and said “what are you doing here?” so i started to tell him what happened few hours before, that sirius is somewhere god knows where, that he should write to me but i know why he didn’t, i was talking really fast and finally he was like “yo chill out, just come in and we will talk about it later, you need to sleep” (yup i’m living my y/n life LMAO) so basically he took my things upstairs and told me to sleep in his bedroom, and that he will figure out what to do later. so i went to sleep
— ୨୧₊˚ lupin’s house
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was like 11 am when i woke up, so i just went down the stairs to find remus, but he wasn’t there, so i just looked around and guess who i met in the kitchen 😭😭😭 lyall lupin ladies and gentlemen 😭😭😭 he was like “emmm you are tara right?” and i was like “yessss that’s me 💀” he was just walking around the kitchen, but he was nice to me tho. he said that remus went to james to tell him that i’m here. i was like “oh yup okay” so later i found out that sirius was living at james house the whole time
so i wrote a letter to him telling him that i am at remus now, but i said that i don’t want to bother his family, so probably i will leave in a few days (i didn’t LMAO, remus stopped me) so that’s how i was living for next month, until school started. i got along with remus father, he is a nice guy, also he has good sense of humour, thank GOD 😭 idk finally i felt loved and as i was at my own home. thanks to the lupins 🫶
SEPTEMBER
— ୨୧₊˚ 1st day
lyall left few days before school started, he said that if i would need anything, he can buy me some things on street, but i was fine, as walburga buys everything that is needed already in june, so yup, i was stated for new school year 🫡
on a 1st day i finally saw sirius again, gosh i never thought that i would be happy only by seeing him in a crowd. remus told me what happened after sirius left grimmuald place 12, at least the part that he knew about. by this i also mean that he forgave him about what happened, so we were all good 🫶
on a train i found out that james and lily were chosen to become next head boy and head girl, which is the reason why they got onto each other.
sooooo me and remus relationship was still a secret, but i think that boys could feel the change between us, especially sirius, i mean it was kinda obvious 😭 we did not “hide” it, we just did not tell them 💀 there were signs, like sometimes remus put his arm around my back and hold me like this, or during the day when i tried to keep contact with him. basically only lily knew about me and remus. i told her right after everything happened in june, sooooo yup she knew since the very beginning.
whole September we were all excited to start new school year, but something started to feel different ??? but that was because of war.
but let’s concentrate on hogwarts rn 😭
so me and boys still took turns to stay with remus during full moons, remus wanted to complain about it because of what happened few months before, but he finally said yes.
OCTOBER
— ୨୧₊˚ boys find out about me and remus
soooo everything was fine at hogwarts, we were doing great, james and lily started to talk to each other, she would tell me about the conversations they had, but when i asked her “do you like him” she acted like she was angry and ignored the question or answered me with “don’t be ridiculous” soooo yk something was going on between them (finally) also sirius and remus told me that james is talking about her ALL THE TIME and that they are super tired of it. about peter, well, he was quiet as always 😭 so nothing changed.
me and remus were even more opened about our relationship, we were more confident about it? we were showing it ig 😭 and on one day in the middle of october, sirius, james and peter caught us in a common room and told us to sit down, their face went literally 🤨🤨🤨 and james started talking “okay what the HELL is going on here” so i looked at remus, remus looked at me, and i finally said “oh yeah we re together” and sirius went WILDDDD he literally looked at remus and went “THATS MY SISTER YOU MANIAC” and started chasing remus across the common room 😭 it was SO FUNNY 😭😭 after they were done (about 10 minutes later lmao💀) we just sat down in their dormitory and they were doing this police kind of thing where they are asking questions and shit 💀 pretty crazy but yup they knew since then
and because of that we could be more open about us and be ourselves bc of that. sirius was sometimes overdramatic about it but he got used to it i guess LMAO
also sirius got himself into detention 😭😭😭 AGAIN i’m super sick of this at some point 💀💀 he started to bully severus again, so i get it, but now lily did not react (he called mudblood as yk)
but james was a little bit out of business, because he wanted to impress lily, and you could see that. literally he was not helping sirius and peter with their pranks for a while, so he could convince lily to him, which was so cute ☹️
NOVEMBER
— ୨୧₊˚ 17 birthdayyy
in the beginning of november me and sirius got letter from andromeda, that she heard about our escape from grimmuald place 12 and that she is super proud of us 😭😭😭 she asked if we have some place to stay and etc. to be honest, i didn’t think about it 💀 i didn’t want to bother remus but still i was too young to bus myself a house from money that i saved. sirius told me in the beginning of school year that he will stay at james during next summer, so he could later buy a house from money that he got from ⭐️
i just wrote back to andromeda that i’m okay, and i just did not think about it. it was not time for that too.
also, from weird things that happened in november is that on random day, when i was leaving great hall with remus after lunch, regulus wanted to talk to me??? like excuse you i guess? but yup he’s my little brother, i was worrying about him the whole time tbh 😭 so remus did not want to go away, he checked if i’m okay with him leaving, i just nodded, so he hugged me and just left 😭
SO ABOUT REGULUS CAUSE IM STILL BAD OKAY
he did not even say “hi” or shit, he just went
“oh so you are with H I M”
and i was like bro what? since when we are talking to each other like this??? what happened to hello? how was your day???
also he was nervously checking if the hall that we were standing in was clear. which was pretty mad, but i figured it out after i shifted back that he just wanted to check if any slytherins saw us 💀 he looked a little bit scared too. OKAY ANYWAY
so i went “why do you care”
AND HE RESPONDED “you are a blood traitor”
I WAS SO MAD. SO. MAD.
“that’s the reason why you stopped me?”
AND BARE WITH ME RN CAUSEEEEEE
“no.” he made a dramatic pause here lol??? “you know you can both still fix this”
MY JAW WAS ON A FLOOR I SWEAR, BECAUSE THEN HE SAID SOMETHING LIKE “you need to choose the right side. like mother said”
HE THREATENED ME TO JOIN LORD FUCKING VOLDEMORT.
BRO. WHAT THE FUCK.
hell no. I WAS SO PISSED SO P I S S E D
“reggie “do not bother me again, please”
that’s all i said. the silence was LOUD, it was SCREAMING i think it was this moment that i knew that even if i tried, i would never convince reggie that lord voldemort and death eaters are not a good way to go to (if yk what i mean 😭) so i just walked away. and when i tell you i CRIED. i did not talk to sirius about it, i did not talk to remus about it, even tho both of them were trying to get out the convo between me and regulus of me LMAO, i knew that i would hurt sirius so i kept it to myself
ANYWAY
happy birthday to me and sirius i guess 😭😭😭
i am officially 17 in this dr 🤭
sirius ofc threw the whole party, but i passed. i wanted peace lmao. remus sat with me in his dormitory and we played some games, then dorcas and lily joined us, then james and peter. we had so much fun, it’s such a core memory 🫶🥹 I MISS THEM SO MUCH i’m sooooo homesick but yup i just gotta make my way back there (somehow)(even tho i know next shifts are gonna be awfully full of angst, i’m not ready tbh)
during the full moon this month me and james took care of remus ❤️‍🩹
DECEMBER
— ୨୧₊˚ christmas
okay sooooo HAPPY NEWS ABOUT JAMES AND LILY
basically james asked her out for a date and she said YES
WE WERE CELEBRATING and lily finally told me she likes him a lot and that if he would not be such a dumb-ass sometimes she would talk to him earlier 😭😭😭 i’m super happy for them literally waited for that moment for SO LONG. and sirius threw a little party in their dormitory so everyone were happy ❤️‍🩹
on christmas ofc we gave each other presents, but sirius went CRAZY this time.
1. he started dating a girl called daisy from ravenclaw (which was pretty crazy cause he didn’t pull up any girl for like a year or something?) this time he said that he really like her and will try to keep this relationship for longer than 3 weeks (they lasted like 3 months maybe 💀 james even made bets at this point 😭)
2. sirius and james were running around common room with a mistletoe to force people to kiss including me and remus 😭😭 pls guys i love them so much but WHAT
james and lily went out few times during december, and when lily was coming back to our dorm she was super happy and even tho she still had her opinion “but he is a dumb-ass sometimes🙄🙄🙄” she seemed to really like him???
sooooo also james invited sirius, remus, peter, lily, dorcas (and more actually it was a full-ass list with names of like 15 people and i’m too lazy to name all of them sorry 😭😭 maybe during editing i will do it) for new year’s eve, so we all needed to left hogwarts for christmas 😭 like girl i DONT HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE RN 💀 sirius stayed with james at his house, and remus told me that lyall is not coming back for christmas so we can go and live at his house for those 2 weeks, and we decided to do so ❤️‍🩹🥺 GUYS YOU DONT GET IT LIKE I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AHHHHHHH PLS BRING ME BACK OMG
okay.
so.
i spent whole 2 weeks only with remus, it was super cute and cozyyy we decorated his house and baked (at least i did bc i was 17 and i could use magic legally outside hogwarts 💀) we had fun. truly these 2 weeks refreshed me soooo much, ALSO
LYALL LUPIN GOT ME A CHRISTMAS PRESENT 😭😭😭😭 it was little bracelet that remus told him i would like, pls lyall is such a nice guy 😭
and also i think the most memorable moment from these 2 weeks is remus christmas present, and by that i mean, he bought two tickets to “muggle” opera, and it was AMAZING. later the same night he told me the story how his parents met, and we played his mother records (i scripted that she was an opera singer!!!)
— ୨୧₊˚ new year’s eve
so me and remus needed to take a ride with this crazy wizard bus 😭😭😭 but we made it and spent THE BEST NEW YEAR’s EVE EVER. we had so much fun 😭 also i found out how many things in common me and dorcas have, which is funny because we were “friends” literally we live in one dorm 💀 but that night i got to know her more which is great bc we became closer as roommates. okay so basically during the midnight, when clock hit 12pm, there is this tradition that you have to kiss somebody for luck. so yup me and remus kissed (my cutie patootie ☹️) BUT ALSO WHEN I WAS GOING OUTSIDE WITH SIRIUS, REMUS, DORCAS AND OTHERS I SAW JAMES KISSING LILY???? I WAS SO HAPPY likeeeeee pls 😭
JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH AND APRIL
i wil speed up those few months because nothing really happened except for some birthdays, and that was all because our exams, I WAS SO STRESSED IDK WHY i know that i will pass them perfectly (duhh) but i was stressed anyway. crazy time tbh lmao, everybody were busy.
about james and lily - they started to ‘officially date’ each other, which made me super happy, they are so cute 😭😭😭
also sirius broke up with this girl from ravenclaw, so it did not last long LMAO
and peter and sirius got themselves into a HUGE detention from mcgonagall for messing up her office 💀 which was crazy, we got -100 points from our house. you should have seen her, she was SO MAD. i’ve never seen mcgonagall so angry
MAY
okayyyy so may was super chill month EXCEPT the final quidditch match. between gryffindor and slytherin it was AMAZING
okay so i probably did not write about that bc i did not find that necessary it still, i okay quidditch on one of ‘beater’ positions so yuppp i play quidditch 🤭 AND IT’S SO MICH FUNNN
anyway, gryffindor won after james found that goddamn little gold ball, when i tell you he was so annoyed bc he couldn’t catch it 😭😭 HE WAS SO PISSED, but we won 🤭
and after some other days of school work i “shifted back 😭” to cr
「 ✦ end notes ✦ 」
it was 2 months and im still there tbh 😭
ANYWAY
This shift was so crazy??? and fun???? and sad??? and cute??? AT THE SAME TIME.
i am now remus lupin gf. yup I WON
i’m so happy and i just can’t wait to shift there again 😭😭😭😭😭
remember that i will edit this page! there are A LOT to edit but i’m to lazy to do so 🤭
anyway BYE

Our Last Summer (Part 1)
pairing: wolfstar (sirius x remus)
genre: fluff & angst
warnings: none
words: 2267
note: based on the song ‘Our Last Summer’ by ABBA
a/n: this isn’t the whole thing but I haven’t finished it yet and it’s getting really long anyway so I decided to just post it in parts (i know it says fluff & angst and there’s no angst here but be patient it will come)
I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all. Walks along the Seine laughing in the rain, our last summer, memories that remain… I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all. In the tourist jam round the Notre Dame our last summer walking hand in hand
Sirius woke up smiling. Remus’ arm was still draped over him. He turned around and kissed him on the nose.
“Hey,” he whispered. “Are you awake?”
“I am now,” Remus groans.
“Sorry.”
“No, don’t be,” Remus says, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I like waking up next to you.” Sirius’ smile widened.
“I like waking up next to you too,” he said. He kisses Remus softly before turning to grab his wand off his bedside table and Summoning two cups of tea. He hands one to Remus and then opens the drawer of his bedside table and pulls out a large packet of dark chocolate.
“Happy anniversary,” Sirius says, giving Remus the chocolate.
“Best present ever,” Remus says, taking a bite; Sirius can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic or not.
“The day is just beginning,” he says, sipping his tea.
“Really? So what do you have planned?”
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” Sirius says mysteriously.
---------
“No way,” Remus said, shaking his head. “There is no fucking way I’m getting on that death trap.”
“Yes you are,” Sirius said, taking his hand and pulling him closer to the motorcycle. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”
“No,” Remus said. “Why can’t we just Apparate? Or take a taxi?”
“What’s a taxi?” Sirius asked.
“I swear to god, I’ve already told you at least five times,” Remus says, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Well, it doesn’t matter because we’re riding my motorcycle,” Sirius said.
“Nope,” Remus said. “Not fucking happening.”
“Please,” Sirius pouted. “It’s not illegal, I have a license. And I promise I won’t fly. I’ll stay on the ground the whole time.” Remus still looked hesitant. “I even customised your helmet myself.” He pulled out a black helmet with ‘Moony’ written on the side in flaming block letters. It brought a little smile to Remus’ face.
“Ugh fine,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “But this is a one-time thing.”
“Yeah, yeah, if you say so,” Sirius said. “Now come.” They climbed on the motorcycle and Remus wrapped his hands around Sirius’ waist. “Normally I would say hold on tight,” Sirius said, “but if you hold any tighter you might just squeeze me to death.”
“And if I don’t hold this tight I might just fall to my death,” Remus replied. “Now shut up and drive; I want to get this over with.”
And suddenly, they’re on the road and holy fuck Remus is terrified. He’s resting his head on Sirius’ shoulder watching the cars around them. He squints his eyes, trying to make everything appear blurry (hoping it’ll make this a little less terrifying) and yes, he’s afraid but he has to admit that the blur of lights from all the cars is actually quite beautiful. That is, until they climb on the highway and Sirius picks up the speed. Now it’s just terrifying. Remus closes his eyes and buries his head in the crook of Sirius’ neck. The smell of Sirius and the feel of his beating pulse calms Remus down a little. He knows Sirius wouldn’t suggest this if it was that dangerous; Sirius would never let anything bad happen to him.
Remus doesn’t open his eyes until he feels them slowing to a stop. When he does finally look around, he finds himself in the parking lot of what looks like a small park.
“Hey,” Sirius says, reaching a hand back and stroking Remus’ thigh. “Are you ok?”
“I’m alive, if that’s what you mean,” Remus says, letting go of Sirius so he can climb off the motorcycle. Sirius helps Remus down and takes his helmet.
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”
“Yes, it was that fucking bad,” Remus says. “I’m never riding that thing again.”
“Hey, ‘that thing’ has a name, you know,” Sirius said, arms crossed.
“Right, sorry,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “I’m never riding Elvendork again.”
“Wow, I can’t believe you actually remembered their name,” Sirius said, laughing.
“I can’t believe you actually named your motorcycle,” Remus said. “Now tell me what we’re doing here.”
“Come with me,” Sirius said, pulling him by the hand into the park.
“Where are we?” Remus asks, looking around.
“You’ll see,” Sirius said. He led Remus to the far end of the park where several bushes and trees made a hedge that seemed to show the end of the park. Sirius got on his hands and knees and pushed the plants out of his way as he crawled into the hedge.
“Are you serious right now?” Remus asked. As soon as the word was out of his mouth he regretted it.
“I’m always Sirius,” came the reply. “Now come on.” Remus sighed and crawled through the hedge. When he came out on the other side he saw Sirius sitting on the grass.
“What is this place?” Remus asked, looking around. If he was being honest, it looked like a little heaven. Everything was so green. The grass, the trees, the hedge they came through. It looked like something out of a painting. The colourful flowers from the trees littered the floor; Remus picked one up, walked over to Sirius and put it in his hair.
“I used to come here when I was a kid,” Sirius said, effectively surprising Remus. “I know hardly any of my stories start like that but when I was… 9, I think, my cousin Andromeda was 15. And one summer she came over to our house and she asked my parents if she could take me somewhere. I don’t know what lie she told them but whatever it was they bought it. She brought me here. She told me that a friend of hers at school had shown her this place. His dad was a park ranger and he used to come here all the time as a kid. It was just close enough to my house that we could walk here and we’d spend all day playing here. She even learnt how to use muggle money so she could buy us food.”
“The last time we did it was the year before I started Hogwarts. She was seventeen then. She showed me magic. It was incredible. She did all kinds of spells to make plants grow and stuff. It was awesome. I’d never seen magic so… raw before. It was beautiful. But then she ran away with Ted Tonks and got burnt off the tapestry so there was no way my parents would let me see her. But she wrote to me a few times to tell me to meet her here. That was how I met Ted for the first time. Turns out he was actually the one who showed Andie this place. And I met Nymphadora here as well. I used to come here alone sometimes too. I tried to bring Regulus with me once but he was scared we’d get caught. The only good memories from my childhood… they’re all from this place. I just wanted to show it to you. I mean, you took me to your childhood home but… I mean you’ve seen the Potters’ house a million times. But I guess I wasn’t really a child by the time I moved there. So I guess… I don’t know, I just wanted to share this with you.”
“Thank you,” Remus said, taking Sirius’ hand and pressing his lips to the back of his hand, “for bringing me here, I mean. This place is beautiful. Are you the only one who knows about it?”
“Oh, I doubt it,” Sirius said. “I mean, it’s not very visible but there’s no way that nobody else has ever found this place. But it was always empty whenever I came here. Which wasn’t that often I suppose.” Sirius flopped back onto the grass, dragging Remus with him. They lay on their backs looking at the sky, hands still clasped together.
“It looks like it’s going to rain,” Remus said. Sirius shrugged. It was true; the clouds had been dark all day and the smell of approaching downpour lingered in the air. But Sirius had been keeping his fingers crossed that the rain would wait until later tonight so that he could carry out his plans without any disruption.
“You hungry? We could go get some food if you want. There are muggle shops nearby. But you’ll have to handle the money cause I still have no clue how to do that.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake, if Andromeda could learn I’m sure you can too,” Remus said, as they left their little garden of Eden. “Come on, I’ll teach you.” They walked down the street looking for a coffee shop or a food vendor nearby. They found a bakery selling sandwiches so they bought two, Remus bought tea, Sirius bought coffee, and they returned to the hidden corner of the park.
“Do you get how to use the money now?” Remus asked as they walked back.
“You’ve taught me a million times, Moony, it never sticks,” Sirius said. “You just have to resign yourself to the fact that your boyfriend is a dumb bitch, no matter how hot he is.”
“Oh don’t worry, I accepted your lack of intelligence and general common sense a long time ago, Pads,” Remus said, putting an arm around Sirius as they sat back down on the grass, pulling the sandwiches out of the paper bag and laying everything out on the floor in front of them.
“No, no, you’ve got it wrong,” Sirius said, shaking his head. “I am intelligent but I’m still a dumb bitch too.”
“You’re saying you’re an oxymoron?”
“Wait, I never say I was a moron—”
“No, not a moron, an oxymoron.”
“What does that mean?” Sirius asked.
“It’s like something that juxtaposes itself,” Remus said.
“Juxta-what now?” Sirius said. Remus rolled his eyes.
“You need to read more. It’s something that contradicts itself. Phrases like awfully nice or saying that someone was found missing.”
“Oh,” Sirius said. “So yeah, that’s what I’m saying. You’re so smart, Moony. You know so many big words.”
“Literally just pick up a book,” Remus said, laughing and kissing him softly. “I promise, it’ll do you wonders.”
“Why do I doubt that?”
“Because you’re an idiot.”
“Oh we’ve circled back to that now, have we?”
---------
That was how they spent most of the day. Talking, laughing, joking, kissing, lying on the grass. It seemed like the day really was going to be perfect. Until it started raining. At first, the drops were light and they weren’t bothered by it, but soon the rain became heavy and loud and they were both getting soaked. Remus didn’t mind getting wet; he had bigger worries on his mind.
“We’re not riding a motorcycle in the rain, are we?” Remus asked, his concern leaking through his voice.
“We can wait for the rain to stop if you like,” Sirius said. “Hey, you know, it’s actually good that we came here on Elvendork because we can cut through the traffic on our way home.”
“What? No, no, no, no, no,” Remus said, shaking his head. “There’s no way that’s safe.”
“It’s perfectly safe, Moony, I’ve done it a million times,” Sirius insisted. “Just keep your eyes closed like you did before. It was cuter like that anyway.” Remus felt himself blush.
“I’m sorry,” Sirius said out of the blue. “I didn’t know it would rain.” He looked genuinely upset; Remus wasn’t sure why.
“Of course you didn’t know, Pads,” Remus laughed. “You can’t control the weather. Everything will be fine. We’ll just wait out the rain before riding home.”
“That’s not what I—” Sirius started, “never mind.”
“What is it?” Remus asked, covering Sirius’ hand with his own.
“I just… I wanted everything to be perfect today. I’m sorry I ruined our anniversary.”
“Ruin it? Sirius, what are you talking about? You didn’t ruin anything.”
“But… it’s raining,” Sirius said confused.
“Yes and? Rain is, like, the most romantic thing ever.”
“It is?”
“Once again,” Remus sighed, “I would like to reiterate how desperately you need to read a book.”
“Well, I’m sorry we can’t all be addicted to romance novels.”
“Oh shut up and kiss me.” Sirius laughs and lets his lips meet Remus’. They’re both drenched to the bone but neither one of them could care any less. Sirius’ hand brushes Remus’ cheek as he wraps his arms around Remus’ neck pulling him closer. Remus’ hands are on Sirius’ waist, and they slide down to his hips. Sirius’ shirt had ridden up a bit from lifting his hands to reach Remus’ neck and Remus’ fingertips brush Sirius’ bare skin — which is wet and slippery from the rain — making Sirius shiver and sigh. When they break apart, Sirius brings his lips to Remus’ ear.
“Besides,” he whispers, as Remus runs a hand through Sirius’ wet hair, “who needs romance novels when I’ve got the best romance story in the world.” Remus felt a flutter of pure happiness and smiled. He kissed Sirius’ jaw, right beneath his ear.
“Happy anniversary,” he whispered. Sirius sighed in response. They stand there in the rain, wrapped in each other’s arms, dancing slowly to the sound of the rain splashing and pattering on the leaves of the trees around them.

Falling in love with Draco (Draco x reader!Slytherin)
Warnings: Mental and Physical abuse, physical and magical fighting
Tumblr media
Draco of course noticed you, first year
My God could you be anymore beautiful?
You were very very quiet though, anytime anyone would talk to you you'd just nod or ignore them.
The amount of joy that boy had when you turned out to be a Slytherin was amazing.
Still though even like a week into school you were still quiet.
You'd just sit there and read in the great hall or do your work in class
There'd be a few moments where you'd be called out for being good at your work but other than that you seemed to be attempting to just be silent the whole time.
Finally though Draco managed to get you to make some sort of noise when he told a stupid joke.
Like it was so stupid. But the kid thought it was genius.
Lucky for him you have a weird sense of humor and laughed at it.
It was like music to his ears to hear it.
So then he was determined to get you to talk.
He would say hello to you every morning
You'd just give a polite nod
He'd compliment you but you'd just look away.
Then came a day where Snape called on you randomly and you seemed extremely uncomfortable with that
So Draco raised his hand instead and took the question.
That's when you really began to notice Draco
You would sit a little closer to him or actually begin to respond to certain things.
The first morning when he said "Good morning" and you said it back he literally just froze in place
He immediately sat down in front of you and ate breakfast with you that morning.
You began to sit with him more and occasionally you'd actually make a comment and he'd just smile.
When he got detention you actually did something stupid to end up in detention with him.
He was confused by why you did it but truth be told you were worried he'd do something even worse with Potter present
You seemed a lot more courageous looking at the dark lord than Draco did let me tell you
Draco grabbed your hand and booked it though.
Eventually summer was rolling around and you and Draco agreed to write to each other.
Weirdly enough he found that your personality was very perky and outgoing on paper.
When you both ran into each other it was in Diagon Alley.
Draco was of course excited to see you.
You actually said the words "Hi Draco."
He introduced you to his father and immediately you had this odd switch go into your personality.
You curtsied and actually spoke
Draco was shocked and Lucius seemed to approve of your elegance before telling Draco he'd be elsewhere and he had a few minutes before they had to go
"What... Was that?" Draco asked.
You shifted uncomfortably.
"my father is the same way." You answered
And that was the first time he ever heard you mention home.
Draco rode with you on the train and you of course listened to his common complaint
Harry Potter
You were a bit more vocal as you listened which was pleasant to him.
"Y/n can I ask you something?" He asked.
"mmm hmm?" You nodded.
"Why are you so quiet?" He asked.
You seemed to be uncomfortable by that question before you sighed.
"My family tends to speak over me... And I guess I just stopped talking after a while because I was never listened to anyway." You answered.
So Draco made it his mission then and there to make sure you were comfortable talking around him
He assured you that he'd always listened if you needed to speak.
You gradually began to open up around him
You and him actually ended up being partners in all of his classes which made you two happy
Then came the chamber of secrets
And oh boy
That was bad. Because your mother was a muggle. And you were on that hitlist.
And then he called Hermione a "Mudblood" in front of you.
You actually got quite pissed off at him and he naturally did not know why.
"Y/n why are you so upset? It was just an insult--"
"My mother is a muggle Draco." You snapped.
And you didn't really mention a lot after that.
He actually apologized to Hermione and it got back to you that he did
You two made up, thank God.
You were there when the duel went down
But at one point it got very strange because of the fact that you actually ended up dueling someone too.
And you were REALLY good at it too
Draco experienced a backflip in his heart.
Christmas rolled around and you were still at hogwarts
But so was Draco
And Draco's father actually sent you a gift
Draco told him that you were a big reader so he sent you a book of stories.
You actually loved it too
Draco loved seeing your smile.
You actually got something for Draco which was a jacket
Which during the winter he kept it on all of the time.
The two of you were inseperable
Which is why when you got petrified Draco was freaking out.
There was not one day he didn't visit you in the hospital wing.
When he saw Hermione out and about he knew you were awake and he sprinted
For the first time you hugged him.
You told him what happened, finding a basilisk in the bathroom mirror and then basically blacking out.
The summer was a little bit more fun because you spent the first half of it with Malfoy's family.
You loved his mother, she was honestly very sweet.
But Lucius scared you at times
To be fair: he scared everyone at times
But then came a moment where your father visited and snapped at you for no reason and Lucius did not take well to that
He showed a protective nature to you and you didn't really fear him anymore.
When you went home you were a little less talkative but your mother did notice you speaking more to her.
Usually about Draco.
When you went back to school Draco had changed and so did you.
Your hair was longer, slightly curlier but overall something was attractive with you and Draco could not for the life of him figure it out.
But Draco... His hair was no longer slacked back and he was taller.
He always had you by his side too, even if you two didn't have a class together he'd walk you to and from it.
You asked him why he did that and he said "The last time I left you alone here you were attacked by a basilisk."
You ended up being the one who was attacked by Buckbeak btw
Which you wholeheartedly said openly was your fault because you got too close without bowing.
But it all happened so fast.
You knew to bow but you tripped and ended up in his personal space
Draco immediately intervened, pulling you behind him and he got bit.
You took him to the hospital wing yourself and thanked him for that.
His response was "Better me than you"
You smiled at that.
You two were so close by this point
Then came the lesson on boggarts
You actually loved professor Remus, he was so cool to you.
The class was fun... Until this lesson
Your boggart was your father.
You didn't even speak, it was like you were mute the entire time.
The boggart tried to inch forward but Remus then intervened.
You noticed what his fear was and knew what he was then and there but didn't say anything about it.
You were asked to stay after class and you did
Remus asked you if everything was okay at home and you didn't really answer, giving him all the information he needed.
Remus then began to almost look after you
Draco was really worried after that lesson though, asking you if everything was okay
You then told him about your father finding reasons to just scream at you
He hated hearing this but seeing you cry as you described it didn't exactly warm his heart either.
He just hugged you and assured you that you'd be spending your summers with him even if he had to use force
Hogsmeade was the funnest trip ever
You were now more talkative so a few more students were friendlier to you including Ron and Hermoine
Course Draco wasn't too thrilled with your friends but dealt with it because you were socializing and that was progress.
You two spent the entire trip goofing off with each other though with snowball fights and getting butterbeer.
You were slowly falling in love with each other and it was becoming so obvious.
You two were looking at the shrieking shack and you noticed footsteps leading to it.
"Draco..." You said.
He was again, rambling about Potter.
"Draco." You said louder.
"Hmm?" He finally noticed.
"Someone's in the shack." You pointed out.
He frowned. "...I don't think we should--" "I'm going to investigate--" "Y/n no." Draco halted.
"And why?" "Because it's dangerous Y/n and I don't want to see you hurt." Draco said.
You slowly began to realize just how protective Draco actually was over you.
Well you can't say the boy didn't try
You found out Buckbeak was going to be killed and you kept trying to reason with Draco's father.
He wouldn't listen and you finally just went to Harry and begged them for help.
Harry agreed to and you all got into an argument with Draco which resulted in you actually getting punched after you jumped in the way of hermione's hit.
Draco was naturally pissed and she felt guilty.
"Guys I'm fine. This isn't the first time I've been punched, it probably won't be the last." You sighed.
That's when your boggart began to make a bit more sense and then Draco's alarm bells in his head were practically screaming.
Differences aside even Harry had to admit that this was a noticable problem
You all still went on the rescue mission for Buckbeak though
The whole time turner thing weirded you out.
Draco was actually in on it this time, which was weird as hell.
So when all of you made the discovery of A) Remus hiding Sirius black and B) Remus also being a werewolf it was a bit of a shock
Well the second one you already knew.
But that first one still had you reeling.
It didn't help when Ron's rat turned out to be Pettigrew and you all learned the truth of when Harry's parents died
Even Draco felt bad by that point.
When you all went back to Hogwarts will the information you all agreed to not say ANYTHING to anyone.
The group was still suspicious of Draco but if you trusted him then he had to be at least somewhat of a good person.
Draco's promise was taken literally and you spent the whole summer with him
Draco's parents were happy to have you but something was just off about them at the moment.
That's when you heard the rumors that they supported the dark lord and it began to make sense
You didn't mention it though.
Strolls through the manor
Draco becoming even more attractive
You becoming even more attractive, especially in Draco's eyes
His parents beginning to notice the love in his eyes when he spoke to or about you.
The smiles you two have when you tease each other.
Then you find out you're going to the world quidditch game and you're excited.
You'd have moments where you'd lean over and tell Draco something in his ear and you'd both laugh
Narcissa and Lucius would be hiding smiles.
You two were so close even his parents thought it was cute.
You running into your father at the game and the whole Malfoy and Weasley family both stepping in to protect you.
Which led to this begrudging respect for the Weasley's from the Malfoys.
You ending up spending a few minutes with the Weasley's before the whole thing went to shit.
You almost being attacked until someone pulled you behind a tree and put their hand over your mouth.
You of course recognized the family ring and immediately felt safe knowing Draco was with you.
You both thought the whole events at the game was odd but didn't mention it.
You both going to school and you actually being even more talkative
The goblet of fire competition being announced and the schools coming in was so cool to you.
Draco loving to see you with a smile on your face.
However there was a new problem this year
It was the FACT THAT A DURMSTRANG BOY SEEMED TO LIKE YOU
You having fun moments with Draco where he'd steal your books and race you to class with them.
You running after him and jumping on his back to get them.
Ron and Hermione both knowing "Oh they are so going to date"
You getting worried about Harry when his name popped out of the goblet of fire
The trio getting closer to Draco which leads to him not hating Harry as much as he did before.
Harry and Hermione both noticing Draco getting jealous of the Durmstrang boy
Him getting pouty when you actually talk to the Durmstrang boy.
Harry almost dying of laughter when Draco's best insult at the time was to call him a member of the Russian mob.
Hermione coughed up her drink, Ron was dying and he was sinking into his seat when he found out you and the boy both heard him.
Draco planned on asking you to the Yule and actually asked Hermione for advice.
"Uhm.. Draco why ask me?" She asked.
"Because you're a girl and you understand. It's not like Weasley or Potter would understand." He sighed.
"She likes you Draco. Just ask her." She reassured.
"She... Does?" He asked.
" All of her free moments are spent with you. Everytime we've seen her, she's with you. Even this conversation is about her. Come on Malfoy it is obvious." She said.
So he geared up to ask you
But then this became a race of sorts because the Durmstrang boy had the same idea.
So Hermione, Ron and Harry took it upon themselves to be wingmen and bombard the poor guy with some really dumb questions.
So Draco asked you, and of course you said yes.
Draco giving the friend group the thumbs up
Them all silently cheering and then when you turn around all of them acting normal
Those God damn dance lessons.
"Love if you focus too much on your movements you're going to screw up more" Draco warned.
"I can't help-- what did you just call me-- WOAH!"
Both of you falling and laughing.
Draco falling even more in love as he looked at you.
"Wait I thought your family were nobles?"
" I hid during parties I don't dance." You laughed.
Him feeling even more special because you agreed to go to a dance with him
Both of you smiling the whole time
Even McGonagall is noticing the sparks flying between you two.
Narcissa being the one who sends you a dress
It being gorgeous on you
The guys all waiting at the bottom of the stairs for you and Hermione
Draco almost falling over because my God you're beautiful
Him smiling the whole time dancing with you
A slow song coming on and you resting your head on his chest with him resting his chin on your head.
When the last note of the song plays you looked up at him and you both just... Kissed
You both smiling at each other
Harry and Ron both being happy for you two
You and him both being so in love the entire time
Even after the ball you and him are just in love.
Then everything came to a screeching halt after Cedric
Harry comes back and Cedric is just lying there
You're cheering at first but then you notice Harry isn't getting up and you sprint down there.
Draco also runs down there and sees Cedric.
You just comforted Harry until Mad Eyed moody came over.
You spent the summer again at the Malfoy's after that.
And then Draco started acting very strange one day before dragging you to his room and telling you what was happening
Which was that Voldemort was moving in
And they needed you to join him so you'd be safe.
This wasn't just Draco voicing this, Lucius and Narcissa both told you this too
You and Draco made a pact though that you wouldn't actually be supporting the dark Lord
And you both stuck to that
But you bearing the mark wasn't enough for Voldemort.
So Lucius took you aside and asked for a favor
Of getting engaged to Draco
You were shocked but agreed to it
You were given a family ring and when you came back to school no one could believe it.
Both you and Draco still agreed though that if you survived to see the end of the war, you'd get married.
You joining the Order of the phoenix.
Both of you.
Sirius actually thinking "Damn. This kid is actually barrable." To Draco.
Tonks LOVING you
Both you and Draco being shocked to see Snape at the manor
You both not saying a word
That bitch Umbridge coming in
You and Draco being able to get away with shit because Draco is headboy
Draco always having you by his side, no exceptions.
Fred and George wreaking havoc
You and Draco both smiling the whole time
Umbridge getting PISSED
Then her getting taken by centaurs and you and the group celebrating
The wicked bitch was gonneeee
Halle damn lujah.
Pt 2 coming soon.

annoying? yes. boring? never. // james potter
Summary: James’ best friend has always been a muggle and, despite what everyone thought, they were just that; friends. Right?
Request: Hello there! If you write for James Potter, would you mind writing for him with the cliche prompts 'there’s people chasing us and I pulled you into the alley with me and wow you’re close', 'blurting out a confession of love' and 'I’ve been in love with you for years' Thank you very much!!!
A/N: I fucking love this oml thanks for this request it’s literally made my week
Reader: female
Warnings: swearing, a mean boy, fist-fight?
Tumblr media
At ten years old, James Potter had been pampered for a whole decade. His parents, who loved him a great deal, gave him everything he could ever wish for and more. So, when he came home one day after school with a friend, they did their best to accommodate, despite the fact that said friend was a muggle. Even at ten years old, you knew something was wrong with the Potter household. Some things moved if you looked at them for too long and you swore the eyes in the paintings followed you. Being a particularly bold and shameless child, you decided to ask James just why his house felt like it held its breath every time you came over. Being a particularly bold and shameless child himself, he told you that his family were wizards. From there began a very lovely friendship.
You spent every day at the Potters after that and whilst his parents made a habit to not parade magic around in front of you, James would often tell you magical stories about elves and wands and sweets and broomsticks. Most of all, he told you about Hogwarts.
“I’ve never been,” he said, lying on his stomach facing you as you lay on your back on the carpet of his massive bedroom. “But I’ve heard it’s amazing. It’s a massive castle and you’re put into four houses-“
“Houses?” you asked, sitting up and wiping dirt off your arm; you’d been playing in his garden all afternoon.
“Yes! Everyone is put into a house that’s most like them-“
“Like when we picked what Jungle Book characters we would be?”
“Exactly!” he smiled; glad he’d made a friend that understood him so well.
The week before he left for Hogwarts was one of the most bittersweet weeks of your life. You were excited for James and, thanks to a good word from the Potters to your parents, you could spend the whole week with him, but you were devastated that your best friend would be leaving you for a magical place you could never go to, to make friends you could never dream of.
“James,” you started, turning to face him. You were both lying on his floor, feet up against the wall with the Beatles playing in the background from his record player. “You won’t forget me at Hogwarts, will you?”
“Crikey, Y/N,” he turned to you, nudging your shoulder. “If it was that easy to get rid of you, I would’ve done it ages ago.”
He laughed at your gasp of mock offence, his guffaws only growing louder as you pushed him over and began to wrestle.
The first year without James was hard for you. At a new school, having to make all new friends with the knowledge that whilst you were doing maths and biology, he was learning about magical creatures and ridiculous spells, you struggled. It did help, though, that you received a letter from James almost daily. You weren’t sure how they got to you but once or twice you saw a strange looking bird fly away when you found them. His letters were full of his adventures and excited for you to meet his friends, he’d described them in detail which, although lame, you found very endearing. You were glad he hadn’t forgotten about you.
You were surprised that his parents hadn’t either. You got a call from Euphemia Potter on your family home phone around June time. She’d asked whether you were at school the next Thursday; you were, but she didn’t need to know that. And so, on that Thursday, you went with the Potters to Kings Cross station and waited for James to appear at platform number nine and three quarters. The whole journey there, they told you how much you’d grown since they last saw you and you didn’t understand what they meant until you saw James. He’d stayed at Hogwarts for Christmas and so you hadn’t seen him for nine months when he appeared with a trolley of bags, dressed in strange robes. He looked so different. He was taller now and his hair was much scruffier. You thought it suited him.
You’d never been so excited to see someone and you were pleasantly surprised that the feeling was mutual as you raced to hug each other. You spent most of the summer together, making up for lost time. He told you all about his lessons and teachers and how he and his friends would play pranks constantly.
“I’m shocked that you have friends.” You remarked, helping him put posters of Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly on his walls. You were very glad that he was being cultured on the taste of the time despite the whole wizarding boarding school thing.
“Now that’s just cold.”
You laughed at his wounded expression.
“Go on, tell me about Serious and Remy.”
“It’s Sirius and Remus, you know that. And Peter, too.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you said, smiling so he knew you were only messing with him. “Strange names your lot have.”
Despite how much he wanted to tell you about his adventures, he always asked about how you were doing and what life was like at home. It was sweet, you thought, that he wanted to hear about your life. You told him about new friends you’d made and about how boring the lessons could be, fully aware that listening to someone talk about them would be just as dreadfully tedious as actually going. It didn’t matter, though, because for a whole summer you had your best friend back and life had never better. You tried not to think about how in September, he would just disappear again and you’d be left with another nine months without your favourite person.
The next months went by extortionately slowly and whilst you tried to be happy around your friends, nothing felt right without James. When you got a letter from him in the middle of English class, an owl, of all things, tapping at the window, you were beyond excited to hear that he would be coming back home the next week for summer. He said he was bringing his friend Sirius because his parents weren’t the nicest and whilst you were excited, you couldn’t help but feel nervous about meeting his friend – what would happen if he didn’t like you? You had to wait till the weekend to see him; your mum had found out about your ditching school last time and forced you to go in until the school finished for summer. On that Saturday morning, you all but ran to James’ house, hammering on the door in excitement.
When James opened the door, an ear-splitting grin on his face, you were surprised to see how much he’d grown in four months. He was taller, again, and he looked nice, a thought that repulsed you in a way. Heat rushed to your cheeks at your thoughts – this was James, your best friend, you didn’t see him like that. He didn’t even say hello before he pulled you inside and hugged you like there was no tomorrow. The hug didn’t help how flustered you were, his warm arms surrounding you tightly, but it was long overdue.
“So, this is the infamous Y/N.”
When you pulled away to find the source of the noise, you saw a tall boy with long dark hair and mischievous eyes.
“Does he talk about me?” you asked, elbowing James in the side before offering your hand to Sirius. The idea that James talked about you made you strangely happy.
“Does he ever shut up about you?”
James spent the next few days partially regretting combining the two greatest forces in his life. You and Sirius teamed up constantly to tease James, often sharing stories about how ridiculously headstrong he could be. Though he should’ve been mad, he enjoyed his best friends getting along immensely and something about seeing you and Sirius at the same time made something within him feel right.
“Has he told you about Lily?” Sirius asked, lying across James’ bed whilst you and James sat on the floor, staring at a chessboard. He said he needed the practice for something or other.
“Who’s Lily?”
You looked up at James to see him blushing and a strange discomfort came over you. You tried to convince yourself you weren’t jealous.
“She’s this Gryffindor girl-“
“Your house?” you asked, knocking over one of James’ bishops with a less gleeful grin than you had before. “Lions and stuff.”
“A perfect description.” James teased, earning him a flick in the forehead. He frowned at you, pushing his glasses up.
“Exactly.” Sirius smirked, resting his chin on his hand. “I think James here might be in love with her.”
“Oh really?” you asked, trying to fill your voice with as much curiosity as you could; you didn’t have the stomach for it, though. “Checkmate.”
You didn’t notice the sly smirk Sirius sent your way at your response, too busy looking at James, whose reaction to losing was, as always, piss poor.
They spent the rest of the holiday trying to teach you Quidditch which, as imagined, was hard with only a football and some sticks. You enjoyed yourself, though, and spending time with James and Sirius was so much fun. You began to understand the general idea of the game eventually, and James loved to see you pretend to fly on a stick as you threw the football at Sirius.
“You’d make a great beater.” He said over dinner, cutting into his food.
“Of course, I would.” You replied, earning a snort from Sirius.
“You’d probably make a better chaser than James, too.”
“Oi!” James flicked a pea over the table, earning a half-hearted scolding from his Father and a kick under the table from Sirius’ rather heavy boots.
“You should come around for dinner tomorrow, love, too.” Euphemia said as you stood at the door, ready to leave. James didn’t miss your apologetic expression.
“Sorry, Mrs Potter, my Mum wants me doing schoolwork tomorrow.”
“We’re going back to Hogwarts the next day, I won’t see you.” James said, pouting. You would’ve teased him but you felt the same; saying goodbye to James was always your least favourite part.
“You’ll just have to write to me every day.” You hugged him, oblivious to the eyes watching both of you.
“Of course, I will.”
He didn’t. It was the first time since you met him that you’d gone more than two days without hearing from James. It had been six already and you were worried. Part of you, undeniably, was jealous; his last letter had been about asking Lily to go on a date with him. You knew you probably would’ve liked Lily. From the way Sirius described her, she was tough and smart and you suspected you would’ve been good friends if she didn’t have James wrapped around her little finger. With your life getting busier with exams and school, and friends, you paid less attention to the fact that you hadn’t heard from James in months. It hurt, to say the least, to have your letters unanswered. You gave up sending them after a while, bored of only being hurt. You wanted to tell him that you’d been on your first date, if only to make him jealous for a moment before you told him about how awful it had been. You wanted to tell him that you’d gotten first prize at a competition at school. You didn’t though, he didn’t want to hear it.
Just before Christmas, you sent Sirius a letter. You felt desperate but you just needed to check that James was alright. A sick part of you hoped he wasn’t so you would feel less bad about him forgetting about you. To your surprise, Sirius replied in just four hours. How his owl flew that far, you had no idea, but you were grateful for any form of reply. The letter was short and blunt but quite kind, which you were grateful for. He said that James was busy with trying to get Lily to fancy him, an actually important issue with Remus and trying not to get kicked out of school. Though it hurt, you were pleased to know anything happening in his life. Sirius also said he was surprised James hadn’t replied to you, because he still talked about you non-stop. You figured that was Sirius lying for the sake of your feelings. You sent him a shorter letter back, thanking him, and then decided you got out of the habit of writing letters.
It was boxing day when someone knocked at your door like a man deranged. When you saw James standing there, on the verge of tears, the coldness in your heart that he’d caused thawed instantly and you beckoned him up to your room, despite your parents’ protests.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. I didn’t mean to ignore you, I swear, I just-“
You wrapped an arm around him as he cried. He took his glasses, off, rubbing tears from his eyes with his hand.
“I couldn’t tell you about Remus and that’s all I’ve thought about and there was nothing else to say- I couldn’t write, I couldn’t bring myself-”
“It’s okay, James, it’s okay. Go on, you can tell me, what’s wrong with Remus?” you asked, pushing his head under your chin to hold him closer.
That night, he told you everything. Between sobs, he told you how worried he was for Remus when he turned (you were mentally trying to cope with the idea that werewolves exist), how his friends had turned into animals to protect him. Most of it went over your head, but you tried to listen for his sake. When he went back to Hogwarts that January, he wrote to you every single day without fail, sometimes twice if he had the time. Somehow, along the way, you felt like you had your James back – the same James but with very different feelings.
By the time summer rolled around, you were doing everything you could to take your mind off of him. You even started flirting with a boy to try to convince yourself you didn’t like James, a fact that seemed more improbable when you considered you might actually love him. You didn’t know when his term ended, he hadn’t said, and so you made yourself busy until he arrived, unsure of how you would react to him given your newly discovered but ever-present feelings.
You stood next to the corner shop, not having that much fun when he appeared. You were standing next to the boy you’d been flirting with and a couple of his friends. They’d been making jokes about something or other – you weren’t listening at all, even less so, when a familiar voice called your name.
“Oi! Y/N!”
You turned around to see James Potter, impossibly taller and more handsome and more James-like than you’d ever seen him.
“You alright, Potter?” you shouted, grinning as he came closer. You went to greet him but the boy next to you, jealous as anything, stepped in front of you.
“Who the fuck are you?” he said, trying to square up despite being dramatically shorter. At first, James didn’t reply. He just looked over the boy’s shoulder at you. You shrugged, frowning.
“My name’s James. I’d like to talk to Y/N, please.”
“My name’s James.” They mimicked in high pitched voices. You rolled your eyes.
“Alright, I’m leaving.” You went to leave when the boy opposite James grabbed your arm.
“Let me go.”
He didn’t.  So, with a sharp exhale, you drew your other arm back and punched him square in the jaw. A bark of laughter escaped James’ lips before you realised that three rather angry looking boys were staring at you both, one with a bruised jawline. James grabbed your hand and you ran.
You barely saw the alley but you guessed that was the idea as James pulled you in after him. Your back hit the wall and suddenly he was very, very close and you were both breathing heavily from the running. He hadn’t realised how wide the alley was until you were centimetres from him. That was, to say, not that wide. You barely noticed the boys run past, completely missing your hiding space.
“Why were you hanging around those muppets?” he asked, noticing how pretty your eyes were up close.
“My muppet left to go to a magical school for tweens – needed a replacement, didn’t I?”
“You’re so mean-“
“Am I so mean?”
“Yeah, you’re always rude to me-“
“Well maybe if you weren’t so-“
“I’m pretty sure I’m completely in love with you.”
You swallowed your words in surprise at his confession.
“I’ve been in love with you for years and I never realised.” He continued as if saying it out loud gave truth to something he’d known all along. “And I think you punching that guy in the face was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen some pretty magical shit.”
You nodded, a small smile making its way onto your face. The blooming feeling in your chest wouldn’t go away; it only worsened when he smiled. It was a familiar smile, a smile that reminded you of home more than anything else could.
“See?” you said softly, biting your top lip. “I might be a muddle but I’m not too boring.”
“Muggle.”
“What did you just call me?”
As if that were the most perfect thing you could’ve said he tipped his head to the side and looked at you. His hand lifted to tuck your hair behind your ear.
“You have never ever been boring.”
And with that, he leant forward and kissed you. You tipped your head against the brick wall, grateful that you had a best friend as stupid as him.

21. The Long Wait and James’ Exasperation
“Remus!” Suzy, a bespectacled Gryffindor sixth year with enchanted flowers braided into her hair, caught up with him.
“Hey,” Remus stopped, holding the portrait hole open for her.
“Thanks…” She breathed out as she climbed in with an armful of assorted spellbooks, quills, parchment, and ink bottles. “My bag broke today,” she explained.
“I’m sorry,” he offered a genuine smile. “My bag’s broken once, too. Granted, it was being held by James and Sirius. Who were flying on two separate brooms at the time. So maybe not quite the same...”
Suzy let out a tickled laugh and almost dropped half of her things just then. Remus, however, reacted in time and, with a flick of his wand, lifted all of the weight out of the girl’s arms. “Thanks again,” she beamed.
“No worries. Well, have fun with…” he gently pushed one of the books, floating mid-air, out of the way, “History of Magic,” he said after a glance at the cover. “Ah yes, the class that, six years in, has taught me how to take notes while napping…”
Suzy laughed again, taking over the steering of her possessions with her own wand now. “That’s actually hilariously accurate… Maybe we could work on our homework together sometime, for moral support?”
“I do lead a study group every Thursday… Although lately, it’s been more like every once in a blue moon, whenever we can squeeze it into everyone’s schedules...”
“Maybe you and I can have a private study group then?”
“Er…” Remus stammered while his brain worked to figure out whether Suzy was asking him out or genuinely trying to get some help with homework. For some reason, he thought, the older he got, the harder it was to read anyone. “I’m absolute shite at History of Magic..?” He attempted with a shrug.
“Then maybe I can tutor you some?”
Ah… It certainly sounded like the girl’s interests spanned beyond homework. A mild panic was setting in as Remus tried to come up with an appropriate response, but nothing came to mind. So he decided to just go for it, as clumsy and awkwardly as he knew it would come out.
Thing was, Remus never really came out to people. Yes, obviously he had been open about his sexuality with Vincent, and at this point, most (if not all) of his friends had caught on, and, matter of fact, he didn’t care if the whole school knew. He felt like a bit of a freak anyway, what’s another thing to add to the list? He just never went around talking about it. In all fairness, it was probably because he’d gotten used to keeping it to himself at home, with his dad around. He could hardly imagine having that conversation with his family (“Hey dad, guess what? I’m gay!”) so he had sort of pushed that idea aside and moved on altogether. But now, he inhaled deeply in anticipation...
“Suzy... I’m…”
“Alright, I’ll just say it… I just need a couple of bottles of butterbeer and I…”
“...ga-- What?” Remus froze all of a sudden, only his eyelids fluttering in a rapid succession of baffled blinks.
“Did you...just say you’re gay?” Suzy peered at him, looking no less confused than he felt.
“I…er...”
“I knew it,” someone uttered in a group of fifth years flocking around the nearest sofa.
“Nevermind that,” Remus mumbled while wishing to literally die right then and there. “You said you need butterbeer?”
“Ehm, yes. I know that you and your friends know where to get some…” Suzy, very graciously, employed a facial expression determined to ignore Remus’ little outburst.
He hastily assured her that he’d talk to his friends and get some butterbeer for her during their next expedition to a mysterious source that Suzy had no business knowing anything about anyway. Still feeling the burning embarrassment pulsing all the way from the pit of his stomach to the top of his head, Remus turned to run upstairs to put his stuff away and maybe suffocate himself with a pillow while he was at it. Before he could leave the scene of his mortification, however, he was beckoned over by the very giggly duo of Lily and Dorcas.
“Rem, did you just yell ‘I’m gay’ at--”
“Five points from Gryffindor.”
Lily let out a loud gasp that somehow ended with an indignant squeal. “James told me you do that…” She crossed her arms over her chest and pursed her lips, but didn’t say another word about the topic.
“Welcome to the club, Remus,” Dorcas grinned at him. “I always knew there was a reason I liked you. Straight people can be so...intense sometimes -- no offense, Lily,” she finished with a smirk.
“How many times do I have to tell you that you can’t judge all straight people based on Potter…”
Both Dorcas and Remus cackled at this. “What about you, miss I Hate This Arrogant Toerag But I’ll Still Spend Every Waking Moment Hanging Out Around Him?” Remus tilted his head rather eloquently with a little quirk of his eyebrows.
“Oh! Please! Pshh!” Lily started shuffling around in her seat with an outraged glare.
“That’s what I’ve noticed, too!” Dorcas beamed at Remus. “She can’t get enough of him lately, can she?”
“You think it has anything to do with him being Quidditch captain?”
“Well, straight people do seem to have a thing about sports…”
“Shut up, you idiots!”
“So - and forgive me for being so blunt - Sirius?” Dorcas beamed at Remus, evidently deciding that Lily’s had enough mortification for the time being.
“What about him?”
“Rumour has it, you’ve got the hots for the Black boy?”
“The rumour’s name wouldn’t happen to be Lily, would it?” Remus shot a pointed glance at the girl in question, but Dorcas merely chuckled at it rather dismissively.
“There’s also the fact that everyone in this school has eyes and ears, Remus. And some of us know how to use them, too. Question is, who’s going to make the first move?” She wiggled her eyebrows.
Remus felt a kind of warmth flood over him - against his own logical thought, he couldn’t help but feel pleased to know that other people could see it. “Hard to say,” he mumbled through a grin that refused to be toned down.
“I think it should be you,” Lily stated matter-of-factly.
“How so?”
“Because, obviously, you’re the somewhat more sensible one.”
“I don’t think romance has much to do with sensibility, Lils,” Dorcas leaned back in her seat. “I think it’ll be Sirius. Precisely because he lacks it.”
“What are we, making bets on my life now?” Remus folded his arms over his chest; he only barely resisted the temptation to reference their very secret plan that he wasn’t supposed to know anything about.
“That’s a great idea!” Dorcas cackled at his feigned indignation.
“All jokes aside,” Lily beamed, “I have a feeling you two will get together soon. It’s Spring, after all. A time for new beginnings.”
“I thought you dropped Divination?” Remus pulled a funny face at her, pretending to be puzzled by her words.
“Yes. But, as Dorcas already pointed out, some of us have functioning eyes and ears.”
“And some of us might even know more than we let on…” Dorcas uttered, a faint smirk curving her lips.
Lily smacked her arm lightly. “Dee!”
“What?”
“What?” Remus echoed, his eyes darting between the two girls.
“Nothing. Dorcas has a strange sense of humour, that’s all.”
“Uh-huh… So anyway, speaking of new beginnings--”
“Oh will you drop it?” Lily cut across him rather sternly. “Even if I did agree to go out with him, so what?” She added quieter.
“Oh? I was going to say, isn’t it strange that the last summer of our Hogwarts years is almost here. But your thing is more entertaining,” Remus shot her a smug grin.
“Remus!”
“What?” He laughed out.
“And she might agree to go out with him sooner than we’d suspect, too.”
“Dorcas!!”
The three of them went on about sensible minds and love and sensible minds in love; mostly courtesy of Lily and Dorcas while Remus was quietly replaying every moment he’d spent with Sirius in the past few days, only occasionally offering a joke or a commentary. This was happiness, he thought. To have friends that cared (enough to devise some sort of a secret plan) and a boyfriend who was one of the best friends he’d ever had and one of the best people he’d ever known. This was happiness - being seventeen and in love and surrounded by good people, and it didn’t even matter that he had just embarrassed himself in front of Suzy and half the Gryffindors.
* * *
Remus looked like there was some kind of a magical glow about him as he sat there - bathed in sunlight streaming in through the high, narrow windows of History of Magic classroom, his chin in his hand, his quill unceasingly taking notes. There certainly was a distinct warm and bright afternoon laziness in the air, which rendered Sirius completely unable to pay the slightest bit of attention to Mr Binns’ monotonous recital of Gargoyle Strike of 1911 facts.
Instead, his gaze was resting on the side of Remus’ face, quasi-secretly taking in the way the sun glistened in his sand and honey coloured hair, the way that that one scar ran across the bridge of his nose like a vein of ore, the way that his eyelids lowered over his brilliantly green irises, the way his soft, yet always a little chapped lips feebly formed silent words here and there as he wrote them down...
“Sirius, you’re staring.”
“You’re just now noticing?” Sirius purred back at Remus’ whispered observation.
“I was busy taking notes, which you’ll be thankful for later.”
“I’ve been staring at you longer than that.”
“Stop it…” Remus mumbled, quieter now, a slight blush tinting his cheeks and ears, which Sirius noticed to his great delight.
“Surely, you don’t actually mean it, do you?”
“Stop it, Sirius…” He repeated with even less conviction in his voice.
“What do you think they’re planning? To get us together?” Sirius perked up slightly, genuinely eager to dive into speculation about the topic. In all honesty, anything that had to do with Remus had been his favourite topic lately -- or not so lately.
“I don’t know, I’ve been thinking about it too,” the boy’s eyebrows slowly knit together over his thoughtful eyes. “I can’t imagine anything that would require James and Lily to go on a fake date.”
“You can’t use your own logic for this. We need to think like them,” Sirius grinned.
“Ah yes… We must think like someone who’s gotten hit in the head by a bludger more times than I have fingers.”
“Hey!” Sirius protested and then shrugged apologetically, remembering he was in the middle of a classroom. “I’ve gotten hit by a bludger too. Read the room, Moony.”
“So you have. That’s why I talk so slowly whenever you’re around,” Remus whispered and gave Sirius a smile that might have been intended as an expression of mischief but in reality looked more flirtatious than anything else.
“And yet,” Sirius leaned in a little closer, speaking a little quieter, feeling a little giddier, “I happen to be where you choose to lay your affections.”
“I never claimed to be perfect…”
“You’re such a tease, Moony.”
“You bring it out of me,” Remus mumbled as he bit down on his lip, evidently determined to bridle his grin. “When do you think they’ll carry out their secret plan?”
“Hm… I don’t know, there’s not really anything special happening anytime soon. The Quidditch game, maybe?”
“But surely, James can’t be on a fake date with Lily if he’s playing Quidditch?”
“Good point. D’you think they’ll fake an injury? That’s probably very likely, statistically speaking.”
“Statistically speaking?” Remus shot him a curious glance.
“Fake injuries tend to be the driving force of a lot of our successful pranks, don’t they?” Sirius grinned.
Just then, the bell rang throughout the castle and all the students started getting up from their desks and funneling out into the hallways. Sirius and Remus both shoved their belongings into their bags and started heading for the door of the classroom along with their fellow sixth years.
“Why is Suzy McGregor giving you weird looks?” Sirius gently nudged Remus’ ribcage. “What?” He asked when Remus took a deep breath and sighed.
“I yelled at her..?
“You yelled at her?..”
“That I’m gay…”
“You...pardon?”
“I thought she was trying to ask me out…” Remus kept trailing off as he spoke, determined to slowly but surely power through this embarrassing tale, holding his wide glossy gaze straight ahead as they walked out into the corridor.
“But she wasn’t?” Sirius offered curiously.
“She just wanted some butterbeer…”
“But not on a date with you?”
“No. I’m not invited to drink butterbeer with her.”
“Why’d you--”
“She chose very confusing wording to lead with, alright? And besides,” Remus finally met Sirius’ eyes, “it’s not like I don’t ever get asked out by people.”
“I wasn’t trying to imply,” Sirius smiled brightly. “I mean, I asked you out myself, didn’t I? What?” His expression clouded over with a confused kind of smile when Remus laughed.
“I wouldn’t exactly call that asking someone out.”
“Well you should look up the definition of asking someone out because that was exactly it!”
“You asked me to help you with homework. Exactly like you’ve done dozens of times before.”
“If not hundreds. But that’s not the point,” Sirius whispered hastily as they were overtaken by a group of Ravenclaw sixth years. “I’m sure it’s nothing compared to whatever Vincent would have done,” he blurted out without thinking.
“Vincent?” Remus repeated that name as if he’d never heard it before, to Sirius’ vague delight. “What’s he got to do with anything?” He was smiling now.
“I don’t know, you seemed pretty fond of him…” Sirius trailed off this time, unsure where he was going. For some reason, all of a sudden, he simply wanted to know that he was more important and special to Remus than the French git -- which was a ridiculous thought, seeing as they’d been inseparable friends for years.
“I think that’s a bit of an overstatement.”
“It is?”
“Are you jealous?” A big smile blossomed over Remus’ mouth as he uttered the question.
“Should I be?” Sirius shrugged nonchalantly as he thought to himself that he was, he absolutely was.
“Sirius.”
“Remus?”
Without another word (albeit with a roll of his eyes), Moony grabbed Sirius’ hand and swiftly dragged him into the nearest classroom - which conveniently happened to be one that they often counted on to be empty, for it hadn’t been used for lessons in at least two years.
Before he could figure out what was happening, Sirius found himself pinned against a cold stone wall. Remus’ left hand traveled up to touch his face, ever so gently, to rest along his jawline, as he kissed him slowly and deliberately. Sirius was dimly aware of Moony’s other hand holding his, their fingers laced through each other loosely, yet without intention to let go. He couldn’t comprehend how he had spent so many years without being kissed by this beautiful boy like that.
When Remus pulled away slightly, just enough for their foreheads and noses to still touch, Sirius managed to stammer out, “Moony?”
“Mhm?”
“Where...where did you learn to do this?”
Remus recoiled now, a sheepish smile painted across his beautiful, flushed face. “Sod off, Padfoot.” He turned around on his heel.
“No, I’m serious!” The black haired boy followed him out into the corridor, a giddy grin crowning his own features. “Is this how you kiss other people too?”
“I don’t kiss other people, Sirius…” Remus narrowed his eyes ever so slightly when the other boy caught up with him.
“But in the past!”
“Are you...are you retroactively jealous?”
“Only if you have kissed other people like that,” Sirius mumbled, only half jokingly.
“I don’t know, I’ll have to conduct a survey to see what they have to say.”
“Such a tease,” Sirius smirked at his boyfriend.
He felt so in love and so happy as they walked towards one of the moving staircases. It almost seemed to him as though there had to be a catch to it, as though complete bliss like this wasn’t meant to be free. But whatever the price could be, all he cared about were those green eyes, full of joy and love.
“Oi, Sirius!” James’ voice bellowed over the excited clamour of the hallways. “I’ve been-- Are you two alright?” His demeanor changed instantly when he approached the two boys.
“Yeah, why?” Remus shrugged while Sirius continued to float in the pleasant haze of his own mind.
“Pads is clinging to your arm… Are you hurt?”
“Oh, that,” Remus chuckled and gently peeled Sirius’ fingers off from around his forearm. To Sirius’ own surprise, however, he couldn’t remember how or when his fingers ended up wrapped around it in the first place. “I think I might have broken him…”
“What did you do?”
“I, er…”
“I’ll tell you later, Prongs,” Sirius finally rejoined the reality and their conversation. “So what about you and Evans?” He asked, foolishly - and very much aware of it - hoping that he could nudge James and his mysterious plan into motion a little faster.
“What do you mean?”
“When are you going to get together?”
“Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t you been telling me to forget about her and get over it at least once a week for the past year?”
“Nonsense! Have you been asking her out lately?”
“No…” James narrowed his eyes.
“You were looking for him?” Remus reminded with a nod towards Sirius.
“Ah, yes… Bad news - Quidditch is postponed until next week.”
“Why?” Sirius attempted to sound somewhat interested in the topic, while in all honesty, he was starting to become impatient about an entirely different thing.
“There was a break in at one of Hogsmeade shops. The school,” James uttered these words rather contemptuously, “feels it would be unwise to have the overwhelming majority of pupils out in the open grounds so close to a suspected Death Eater attack.”
“How dare the school,” Remus nodded with a solemn expression; a heartwarming attempt at solidarity.
Sirius, in the meantime, was getting lost in his head again. He was thinking about how much he wanted to tell James that Remus kissed him in Hogsmeade. He wanted all his friends to know. And he wanted to hold Remus’ hand all the time and kiss him whenever he wanted. Sneaking around might have sounded exciting in theory, but he didn’t think that now. And not only that - he wanted everyone to know that they were together, he wanted the whole school to see him with Moony and to realise just how much luckier Sirius was than all of them. He wanted all the students to talk about how much they loved each other and what a lovely couple the two made. He wanted the whole staff to be on the lookout for the snogging in the hallways. He wanted to be able to share his intoxicating happiness with everyone and anyone.
* * *
James pushed a couple of second years out of his way as he darted through the portrait hole, into the common room. He threw a half-hearted apology at them, without so much as a glance, as he made a beeline for the far corner of the room, where a collection of old, red velvet clad furniture crowded around the fireplace.
“Why is everyone talking about how Remus Lupin came out as gay in the common room?!” He stopped in front of the boy in question, his hands on his hips, a subconscious mirror of his mother.
“Wh-- Who’s talking about it?” Remus scrunched his nose, his body frozen halfway through a flinch, the book that he had been reading now lying face up in his lap.
“Who’s...he’s asking me who’s…” James muttered bitterly. “My sources, alright?”
“Your sour--”
“Why am I, once again, forced to learn about things like that from other people?!”
“I didn’t--”
“How do you think that makes me look!?”
“I--”
“Makes me look like a bad friend, Remus! Do you think I’m a bad friend?”
“No…”
“Then why wouldn’t you tell me before you start going around telling the whole school?”
“I didn’t--”
“Nevermind that, I have to go send an owl to my parents to stop asking you about girlfriends.”
“Oh, it’s really alright, they’ve only asked a handful of times--” Remus mumbled feebly, obviously very confused by James’ outburst.
“A handful too many!”
“Prongs, it’s hones--”
“They might start pestering you about boyfriends though…”
“That’s...that’s fine with me, James,” Remus smiled brightly out of the blue.
“Hm, I’ll think about it… Either way, I need to ask for more of mum’s flapjack…”
“You do that, James.”
“I hope you didn’t not tell me that you’re gay because you thought I’d do something ridiculous, like disapprove or give a broom riding fuck at all, honestly. Unless you started fancying me...you know my heart belongs to Evans.”
“I know, James,” Remus was positively radiant now.
“Good. Right. I’ll go send that owl then. Jaffa Cakes?” James lingered on the spot.
“That’d be lovely. Send your parents my love.”
“Will do. Sorry for raising my voice,” he added after a moment’s consideration.
“That’s quite alright.”
“Let me know if anyone gives you grief about it.”
“Thanks, James,” Remus beamed at him, at which he nodded and turned around on his heel.
Now that he’d gone through with the confrontation, his mind was catching up with what had happened - he had overheard a handful of Gryffindors talking about Remus and how he had told Suzy McGregor that he’s gay. Of course, James was aware of Remus’ sexuality, he just never talked to him about it - he wanted to give his friend all the time and space he needed rather than force him to come out if he wasn’t ready. And when he heard those kids talking about it, he couldn’t help but feel hurt; hurt that Remus didn’t feel like he could talk to James, perhaps?
And - just like most things James would get riled up about - now it turned out to not be a big deal at all. Once he paused to think about it, James realised that more than anything, he was worried that Remus would feel like he needed to hide his sexuality just like he’d been hiding his lycanthropy. And if that ever turned out to be the case, he silently swore to himself to do anything he could to make Remus feel like he didn’t have to be ashamed about any part of his wonderful existence.
As James was crossing the common room, deep in thought, he almost walked right past Sirius, who had just descended from the dormitories.
“Were you aware that Remus is, in fact, very much not straight?” James grabbed his arm and pulled him closer.
“Er…” Sirius briefly stared off across the room before returning his gaze to James’ face. “Vaguely.”
“As in, he’s very much gay.”
“Uh-huh…”
“Did he already tell you!?” James gasped.
“Not exclusively, no.”
“Well? Aren’t you happy about it?!”
“Oh! Yes, very!” Sirius nodded a tad too vigorously.
“Do you not fancy him anymore?” James screwed up his face in confusion. He’d been finding himself growing more and more exasperated lately; he couldn’t figure out why his two friends were being such idiots and was beginning to put more and more stock into Lily and Peter’s plan.
“Oh no, I do. I very much do.”
“Why won’t you just tell him?!” James whispered hotly, gesturing his arms around.
“Oh, you know,” Sirius shrugged, “because we’re friends and all that jazz, I guess.”
“Are you sure you still fancy him?”
“Yes. Aren’t you?”
“You haven’t been whining about him lately.”
“I don’t whine, excuse you,” Sirius puffed out his chest dramatically.
At this, James let out an amused laugh. “Sure. You want to walk to the owlery with me?”
“Uh…” Sirius stared off again. “I needed to talk to Remus, actually. About the study group thing...”
“You know, if the boy doesn’t figure out that the only reason you attend his study groups is so that you could stare at him, then maybe I’ve overestimated his intelligence…”
“How dare you,” Sirius popped his eyes in another facetious gesture. “I care about my education, that’s all.”
“Mhm.” James arched his eyebrows and watched Sirius walking away for a few moments before continuing on his way.
Some thirty minutes later, James was back at the portrait hole, giving the Fat Lady the password, when Lily caught up with him.
“Potter,” she nodded with comical gravitas.
“Evans,” he mirrored her. “Coming back from a Dorks Anonymous meeting?” He cast a glance at the stack of books in her arms.
“Is that your new seduction tactic?” She squeezed past him, through the portrait hole into the common room.
“Is it working?”
Lily opened her mouth, as if about to say something, but then just laughed, melting James’ heart just a tad more.
“Say, have you noticed anything strange about Remus and Sirius?”
“Yes, actually,” she stepped aside, out of the way of people climbing in and out the common room entrance, and turned to James. “I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but they seem to have started acting a lot less...annoying?”
“Yes!” James grabbed Lily’s shoulders excitedly and gave her a light shake. “Sirius hasn’t been whining...at all, really. ”
“And Remus isn’t staring at Sirius with that pining look at mealtimes. In fact, I saw him hand feed Sirius at lunch the other day.”
“I’ve seen Remus braid Sirius’ hair at least three times this week.”
“I’m so confused… Why won’t they just get it over with and get together?”
“You know, I’m starting to think your plan will prove to be a necessity…”
“Oh, interesting.” Lily shuffled her weight on one foot and raised an eyebrow as she shot him a sly smirk. “I seem to remember you calling it a waste of our time.”
“Can’t hurt to try, can it?” James shrugged defensively, trying not to stare at her lips too obviously as he did.
“Well, we’ve just got a couple more weeks before the next Hogsmeade trip. We’ll have to start thinking about how to fake this date,” Lily grimaced.
“I do have feelings, you know. You could at least pretend to not be repulsed by the idea,” James pouted.
“I’m not! That’s not what I mean…”
“I’m just yanking your wand, Evans,” he chuckled and fell into step beside her when she started for their usual corner of the common room.
Before they even reached their friends, they exchanged very eloquent looks at the sight of Sirius perched up on the armrest of Remus’ chair - they seemed to have formed a new habit of sharing a seat whenever they could get away with it (anytime they weren’t in class).
“Sirius,” Lily squinted at him, “are you wearing Remus’ sweater vest?..”
James’ eyes darted to Sirius, his face screwing up in a horrible realisation that he had somehow missed that detail up until then.
“This?” Sirius tugged at the hem of it. “Yep.”
“But…” James peered at him. “You always make fun of it. You hate it, don’t you!?”
“Hate it!? Dear Merlin, of course I don’t hate it.”
“I’ve literally heard you describe this exact piece of clothing as a ‘poor shoe shiner child’s uniform’, multiple times.”
“Dragondung, I would never say that.”
“No, actually,” Remus interjected with a very indulgent smirk, lowering his book in his lap, his index finger marking the page, “I too remember you saying those exact words.”

Text Me (pt.2)

***************************************************************************************
The boys stayed up late that night, Remus giving Sirius a crash course in muggle technology and showed him all the features on his iPhone. Then, in the morning, they woke up bright and early to go buy Sirius a phone. After a lot of questions from Sirius about all the different types and brands of phones, he decided Remus knew best and purchased an iPhone as well. Remus helped him set it up, and the first thing he did was send Y/N a text.
Tumblr media
Y/N couldn’t help but smile as she unlocked her phone and responded to his message.
Tumblr media
Y/N’s smile only grew as she changed into a swimsuit and threw some clothes on over it. She felt a little silly, being so giddy to go see her friends, but she couldn’t help but think that Sirius was one of the cutest guys she’d ever seen. Snap out of it, Y/N, she thought to herself as she hopped onto her bike. He’s only here for a few weeks, you won’t see him again after that, she reminded herself. That could actually work out to be a perfect summer fling.... “Bye, Dad! I’m going to the lake with Remus!” She snapped out of her thoughts to holler to her dad as he picked the weeds in their yard. “Be home by 11!” He called after her. Y/N gave him a thumbs up and continued down the road. Oh, shoot, nothing’s gonna happen with Sirius, he’s Remus’s friend! Stupid... She shook the thought out of her head and quickly peddled down to the lake where Remus and Sirius were just arriving.
“Must you always be so painfully punctual?” Remus called to her. “You’ve met my dad, ‘if you’re less than 10 minutes early, you’re late!’” Y/N mimicked with a laugh. “Geez, sounds tough,” Sirius chuckled as he shed his shirt. It’s not hurting anyone just for me to think he’s cute... Y/N decided as she tried not to let her eyes linger on Sirius’s body. “He’s got his moments,” Y/N shrugged, and Sirius could tell it wasn’t wise to push any further. “Well, anyway, we’re all here now. Let’s hop in, it’s like a million degrees outside,” Remus was quick to change the subject and peel his shirt off before wading into the water. Sirius gaped at Remus as he nonchalantly swam into the water, letting the whole world see his scars.
“You alright there, Sirius? It’s like you’ve never seen Remus shirtless before,” Y/N laughed as she stripped down to her bathing suit and joined Remus in the water. “Well of course I have, we share a dorm. I’m just surprised because he’s usually a little more, erm, shy...” Sirius stumbles through his sentence. “What? Because of his scars?” Y/N asked. “He was when we first met, but I promised him that a few scars were nothing to worry about, and turns out, I think they make him look badass, which is funny considering how much of a wimp he is,” Y/N laughed, sending a big splash over Remus. “Oh, you think that’s funny, huh?” Remus cocked an eyebrow and lunged at Y/N. “Remus!” Y/N screamed as he pulled her under the water. She fought and flailed, but Remus’s grip was like iron, dragging her through the water with little to no effort.
When it was clear that her efforts alone would not help her escape Remus’s grasp, Y/N began to call for help. “Sirius!” She hollered in between laughs. “A little help please!” Sirius shook out of his surprise and ran in after the two laughing teens, diving under the water, only to return to the surface moments later to scoop Y/N up into his arms and carry he away from Remus. “Mate, you’re supposed to be on my team!” Remus hollered. “What can I say? I can never turn down a damsel in distress,” Sirius shrugged, placing Y/N down in the water a safe distance away from Remus. “I’ll keep that in mind,” Y/N laughed.
The teens spent the rest of the afternoon in the water, only returning to the shore when the sun was getting ready to set. “I’m starving, are you hungry?” Remus asked his friends as they all dried off. “Yeah, I’m famished,” Sirius agreed. “Do y’all want to go to Tony’s? He’s giving out unlimited garlic knots tonight and tomorrow,” Y/N suggested. “Oh, I love his lasagna!” Remus agreed, “But I’m sort of craving a ham and cheese sandwich,” he laughed. “How about I run home and grab some bread and lunch meat and such and we can have a picnic for dinner?” He suggested. “Do you want us to come with you?” Y/N offered. “No, that’s alright. I know how you like to watch the sun set,” Remus assured her with a smile. “It’ll take me like 20 minutes.” And with that, he hopped on his bike and left Y/N and Sirius sitting on the large boulders by the lake’s shore.
“So you know Remus pretty well, huh?” Sirius asked. He was curious how much Y/N knew about their lives since she clearly didn’t know about magic. “Yeah. I know it’s hard to believe since we only see each other a few weeks out of the year, but he’s easily one of my best friends,” Y/N smiled fondly. “He’s definitely a good one to have,” Sirius agreed. “What made you want to help him that day?” He asked curiously. “He really did seem freaked out. It was obvious he wasn’t from around here, and I wasn’t going to let the poor guy panic about a mountain lion that didn’t exist,” Y/N chuckled as she recalled the memory. “I figured I might as well make sure he made it down the trail okay, and by the time we finished, I could already tell we were gonna be good friends,” she told him. “We were inseparable after that. We spent the rest of that trip together and have kept in touch ever since,” a fond smile graced Y/N’s face as she remembered the first summer she spent with her best friend.
“I met Remus on our first day of first year, we shared a dorm together,” Sirius told her. “He didn’t talk much at first because he was so nervous,” he reminisced. “He almost wasn’t allowed to attend because of his...uh.. anxiety,” Sirius caught himself before he blurted out about Remus’s lycanthropy. “Because of the dog?” Y/N asked him, completely catching him off guard. “Huh?” He raised an eyebrow. “The dog that attacked him when he was little? He told me it caused him a lot of trauma as a child, but he’s learned to handle it now, and that he has great friends at school who helped him work through it when things got tough,” Y/N told him. “Oh, yeah he was a mess. We were eleven and he was so worried about everything. James and I got him to ease up pretty quickly though. It’s hard to be worried all the time when you’re constantly laughing,” Sirius grinned.
“Oh, I’ve heard all about James and how funny he is,” Y/N nodded. “And what’s his name, Peter? I’ve heard about him, too,” She nodded. “What have you heard about me?” Sirius smirked and raised an eyebrow. “Mostly that you’re insufferable,” Y/N teased, grinning at him. “Hm, yeah, you think that’s funny, do you?” Sirius asked, standing up and making his way closer to her. “Yeah, actually I do-oh, hey what are you doing?” Y/N squealed as Sirius scooped her up into his arms and made his way into the lake. “Sirius, that’s not funny don’t you dare!” She hollered. “Well apparently I’m insufferable and I think it’s funny,” Sirius shrugged before tossing her into the water and sprinting back to shore. “I’m literally going to kill you!” Y/N exclaimed and she popped out of the water, fiercely wading out of the water and bounding after Sirius. Just before she tackled him, he turned and reached his arms out, pulling her down the ground with him as she knocked him down with a thud.
Both teenagers were laughing maniacally when Y/N picked her head up off of Sirius’ shoulder, and their laughter quickly ceased when they became aware of the position they were in and how close they were to one another. Y/N and Sirius stared at one another for a few moments, neither one sure how to look away. “Well, I, erm, I reckon we’re even now. I tossed you into the water and you tackled me into the dirt... truce?” Sirius asked softly, not looking away from Y/N’s eyes. “Yeah,” Y/N breathed, nodding ever so slightly. “We’re even. Truce,” she hesitated a moment before placing her hands on the ground on either side of Sirius’ body and pushing herself off of him, before reaching for his hand to help him stand up as well. Sirius stood, holding onto Y/N hand for a few moments longer than necessary.
The two put their clothes on over their bathing suits and made their way back to where they had been sitting on the boulders and watched the sun as it finally began to set. Y/N shivered as the breeze picked up without the sun in the sky to warm her skin. “Are you cold?” Sirius asked her, “Here, take my shirt,” he offered, shrugging out of his long-sleeved t-shirt and passing it over to her. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to be cold..” Y/N trailed off, eyeing the shirt extended out to her. “Absolutely. I think the wind feels nice,” Sirius assured, holding the shirt a little closer to her. Y/N reluctantly took the shirt and put it on over her own, letting the sleeves dangle past her fingers to keep her hands warm. It was silent for a few minutes until Sirius spoke up. “So, you like watching the sun set?” he asked curiously. “Yeah, it’s my favorite part of the day. The way the sky changes colors, and everything is so vibrant. I don’t know, it’s beautiful. I’ve always just loved it,” Y/N shrugged with a smile. Sirius couldn’t help but smile too. Without thinking, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his new phone, fingers hovering over the screen until he remembered which button to press to bring up the camera. “What are you doing?” Y/N laughed. “You’re right,” Sirius told her, “This is beautiful, and I want to remember it.”

I read somewhere a few days ago a hc about James being sirius's first kiss and how they would spend the rest of their lives making jokes about it...
I just cant take this out of my head...
I mean, it's so natural. They were best friends who spent literally ALL OF THEIR TIME ON AND OFF CLASS together and, after Sirius ran away, they were together on the summers too... If James was curious about something, Sirius would be the first person he would talk about it and vice versa.

@asteriananthologies said: also, Cee & Sirius in their Muggle verse ❤️
How did they they meet? Cee and Sirius’ parents have known each other since before they were born so while they did probably meet a couple times before, it wasn’t until they started boarding school together that they ‘met’ and became actual friends though. Who developed romantic feelings first? Cee had a crush on Sirius almost straight away.  Who is their biggest “shipper?” No one. No one wants Cee and Sirius to be together. Maybe they’re parents? In terms of ‘bringing the families together’ it’s a good shout. Maybe Electra? It terms of Cee marrying Sirius makes Cee her sister, not of them actually together.  When did they have their first kiss and under what circumstances? It wasn’t after a fight, but it was after Celia heard a rumour that Sirius was hooking up with this other girl. The boys and girls dorm rooms were very separate but Sirius managed to sneak into the girls side of the dorms and wouldn’t leave until Cee came into the common room to speak to them. He was uncharastically sweet and charmed Cee round to believing he hasn’t been seeing any other girls. And then they kissed each other good night and Cee ran off giggling.  Who confessed their feelings first? Cee made it pretty clear what she was feeling and then Sirius asked her out. To this day though Sirius says Celia asked him out on a date.  What was their first official date? It kind of hard to pin down because they were friends before so the move between friends to dating is quite blurry. Cee counts it as the first time they went out in London on their own together. As you get older, their school allowed you to take the train to London for the weekend, which they usually did as a big group. But one weekend, before The Marauders first ever gig, Sirius asks Cee if he will come with her and go shopping, “since you like doing that,” to get an outfit for the gig. They ended up getting pizza and strolling around the park holding hands, as dates go, it was the best Cee has ever had.  How do they feel about double dates/group dates? They go on a lot of double dates with James and Lily, which Cee hates, and then Lexie and Aidan, which Sirius hates. But that’s not to say they don’t enjoy double dates, in fact they don’t really do dates anymore, just just prefer heading down to the pub with a lot of friends. So yes to group dates!  What do they do in their down time? Because they are so busy and they are pretty much always travelling, they can actually be pretty boring on their days off. Usually they enjoy a good Netflix binge, catch up on TV they missed when they were working. They also love going down to the pub with friends; either for a big Sunday lunch or a beer garden chill.  What was the first meeting of parents as an official couple like? Cee had already met Sirius’ parents a couple times due to being best friends with his sister and spending a lot of time with her during the summer. Sirius had a slightly more daunting meeting with Cee’s father but they both went pretty well; much to their annoyance, Cee and Sirius are both what their parents were hoping for each other. Well, family wise anyway, Morland probably wanted Cee to marry a doctor or a lawyer, not a drummer, but being a Black makes up for it.  What was their first fight over and how did they get past it? They fight over everything so it’s, again, hard to pin down. Maybe over how much time Sirius spent with his friends over time with Cee. Sirius likely said he’d make more time for them, which was bullshit.  Which one is more easily made jealous? Cee, for sure. It’s hard not to feel a little jealous when there is literally a crowd of pretty girls screaming your boyfriend name every weekend.  What is their favourite thing to get to eat? Sunday roast dinners at the local pub.  Who’s the cuddly one? What their favourite cuddling position? If they’re not doing they’re ridiculous PDA, they’re not overly cuddly. Well, no, they can be but it’s more chill. Probably Cee; she tends to wrap her arms around him a lot, or fall on top of him on the sofa. Are they hand holders? When they’re not arguing, sure. How long do they wait before sleeping together for the first time? What’s the circumstances? They had been together about four months, which seems like a long time but you have to remember that they were teenagers when they got together. They actually bunked off school, got a train down to London and spent the day in a very posh hotel room, specifically to have sex. Again, remember that they were dumb teenagers. It was sort of romantic, or at least romantic as your first ever time can be, between the awkward.  Who tops? Cee prefers to but they take turns and it’s a pretty even split.  What’s the worst fight they’ve ever gotten into? They fight a lot, but rarely about anything that serious. There was a time that Sirius never really made time for them; even when he wasn’t travelling he was spending all his time with the band or at the studio. Cee had her moments of being busy but she’s more open to clearing his schedule if he wants to do something. She eventually put her foot down and said that he either made time for just the two of them or she was calling it. They’re much better at doing date nights these days.  Who does the shopping and the cooking? Cee does the shopping online and gets it delivered to the house; very occasionally they cook together but neither really.  Which one is more organized and prone to tidiness? Celia, Sirius is very much still a teenage boy when it comes to how clean he keeps the house. They are also very reliant on the cleaner who comes in once a week. So, neither, they own a clean house to Maria.  Who proposes? Sirius. But Cee sends a lot of hints. Also just full on messages him with the ring she wants. Actually, Cee did a number of times, but Sirius always turned her down and she had totally been joking anyway, she’s not serious, she doesn’t even want to marry him... Do they have joined Bachelor/Bachelorette parties or separate? Seperate, although they do meet up halfway through the night because they go to most of the same bars and clubs.   Who is the best man/maid of honour? Any other groomsmen or bridesmaids? James, Remus and Peter for Sirius, obviously. Electra and Poppy for Cee. Sirius tries to talk her into asking Lily at some point but she just laughs and it’s not brought up again.  Big Ceremony or Small? Semi-small ceremony, massive after party.  Do they have a honeymoon? If so, where? Rome. A week of pizza, wine and wandering around historic architecture and art galleries. Also that day where they try to beat the record James set on his honeymoon for how many times you can have sex in one day. They beat it. Do they have children? How many? Maybe two, but much later in life. They have too much fun, are too childish themselves and have too hectic schedules for kids for now.

I Noticed, Harry Potter 1-shot
AO3 Link: I Noticed Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Sirius Black & Harry Potter, Sirius Black & Remus Lupin & Harry Potter, Remus Lupin & Harry Potter, Sirius Black & Remus Lupin Characters: Harry Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley Additional Tags: Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Family Feels, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Past Child Abuse, Flashbacks, Healing, Harry Potter Needs a Hug, Sirius Black Needs a Hug, Remus Lupin Needs a Hug, Homophobic Language
Summary:
Harry has spent his whole life trying to hold it all together all by himself. But one stupid prank breaks the damn. But maybe his family can help him understand he doesn't have to do it alone.
Harry was extremely good at trying to act like he was significantly less fucked in the brain than he actually was. He could push everything down and do whatever it was he needed to do. If it was taking a test, play quidditch or stab a giant snake and almost get murdered by Voldemort 4 times in less than 15 years.
But Cedric dying was starting to make that really hard. He was always angry and nervous. His brain did not know how to turn off and everything was aggravating. He wanted to be able to just fight and get this shit over but no one would let him in on what the hell was going on and Dumbledore didn’t even give him the time of day. Constant nightmares also added on to this shit because he was always tired.
His ability to hold everything in came to an end while they were trying to clean Grimmauld Place on Ms Weasley’s orders. Harry was emptying out a cupboard then Fred and Geroge decided to shut the door, Harry heard the lock click. he was suddenly rushed with uncontrollable fear. Being trapped wigged him out, he couldn’t fight back but he just needed his wand. His fingers fumbled his wand he heard a light thud.
His mind was scrambled throwing his mind for a loop. Harry swore he could hear uncle Vernon screaming which was new, but he figured the whole closet thing was different. He remembered being a kid and being tossed under the stairs. He banged on the door switching between felling 10 years old all over again or locked on a statue. Greenlight was running past his eyes as he slammed the door so hard the wood splintered on his hand. Harry clawed at the shards swearing he could hear his aunt.
Ron’s angry voice slipped into his thoughts as he hit the wood again to get out. His mind was too full to process what Ron said. Harry fell out the door with a large thud as he tried to hit the door again.
He stood up feeling really unsteady. He could tell his hands were shaking and his fingertips had small drops of blood. He was very aware his cheeks were wet, god he had been crying.
“Harry mate you okay?” Ron said.  “You don’t look good. Wanna sit down?” Ginny asked.  Fred and George looked uncomfortable. Ginny looked sad and Ron was red like he was angry but was sadder like Ginny than really mad.  “I don’t. yeah, gotta go.” He mumbled leaving the room.
His heart was pounding in his chest. He found an empty room and fell to the ground. He pulled his feet to his chest laying his arms on his knees head bowed to his forearms. The room was cold for the summer, but Grimmauld Place seemed to always be like that though. Something dark maybe left over from the previous inhabitants, like the screaming portraits and crepy house elf. Harry startled when a hand brushed his shoulder. Sirius was standing in front of him and Lupin was behind him.
“Hi,” Harry said. Furiously wiping the tear streaks from his face. He was so embarrassed.
Their concerned faces meant somebody had told them he had just freaked out about being a closet like he’d been tortured or something, though Cruciatus was more pain than fear so not exactly the same. The two men sat down in front of him.
“Ron and Ginny told us what happened,” Sirius said.  “Yeah. I know it was stupid, I’ve just been kinda out of it lately, sorry.” He explained. “Harry, you don’t have to apologize. You’ve had a lot of really fucking traumatic crap happen, I think a panic attack is pretty normal.” Sirius said  “what?” Harry said, not really understanding what he meant.  “Panic attacks, or a flashback whatever I get them, so does Remus. It’s fine.” Sirius said.  “I don’t understand,” Harry mumbled he’d heard about that shit with soldiers or whatever on tv. But it just felt like he’d been stupid, but saying that would be a dick move if they freaked out too.  “Can you tell me, what you were feeling and thinking about when they locked you in?” Lupin asked.  “I felt like real scared, confused and trapped. Then I dropped my wan and kinda lost it. I kept thinking about how I couldn’t get away. And then about when my uncle used to lock me in the closet when he was angry. and like I could swear I heard him and then all I could see was the light from Avada Kedavra.” Harry explained, he was a bit surprised hed said all of it, and mentally cursed himself as his hands were shaking again.   and Remus glanced at each other with knowing looks.  “What are you thinking about?” Harry asked, not wanting to be ket out of the lop anymore.  Luping ran his hand over his chin and sighed, “I noticed back when you were 13. Something was, not right. You reminded me a lot of Sirius when we young.” He stopped  “What's wrong with being like Sirius?” Harry said incredulously.  “Harry he doesn’t mean wrong because he hates more or something, well at least now.” Sirius said with a light chuckle, “but thanks for sticking up for me”  “What I meant to say was. Sirius’s parents were abusive. And I saw a lot of the same signs with you, I should have done something but I didn’t” Remus looked guilty. Harry felt bad and confused for making him feel crappy.
“My mother would hit me, yell at me lock me in my room. Things like that. It’s why I ran away to live with your father. She pushed me too far, yelled at me for being a fag and blood traitor. It was a pretty impressive knock down drag out fight” He had a rueful smile, “ I mean she was right about most of it  but I was sixteen strangling me and kicking me out was a bit excessive.”
Harry stared at his godfather and gulped. There was something wrong about him saying that shit out loud. It was the kind of stuff you kept quiet, you weren't supposed to tell anyone. He did sometimes say stuff that people found odd, but Harry knew better than to say stuff. He never had.  Harry thought about Vernon strangling him earlier that summer. His hand drifted unconsciously to his neck.
“Your aunt and uncle. They do shit like that don’t they?” Remus asked.  Harry was distracted that a teacher, even an ex-teacher cursing so casually. Then he registered the question. And he couldn’t think straight again.
“You can tell us. We won’t go blabbing to everyone else. But I have to know, do your aunt and uncle. Do they hurt you, insult you, starve you anything like that.” Sirius said earnestly. “Yeah.” Harry said he stomach flopping as he said it, feeling like he was doing something wrong somehow, “All of it I guess. I don’t know, it’s just they can be assholes and stuff about things, get mean. It’s why I ran away in my 3rd year I thought he might literally kill me. But it’s just how it is I guess, family or whatever.”
Sirius looked angry even though he was clearly trying to be calm. Squeezing his hands shut tight.
“I promise you, Harry, it’s not just how families are. Your a kid family should hit you, or lock you in closets or insult you or any of it. And I’m really sorry I didn’t do anything before. I noticed so I should have, you don’t deserve to be hurt” Lupin said his voice sounded pained.
Harry was caught off guard when Sirius brought him into a tight hug. He pulled back, he held Harry's shoulders, and it didn't even hurt. “Listen to me, Harry. I am sorry I wasn’t there for you when i should have been.  No one ever should have put you through any of that. I’ve been a really shitty godfather. Your the strongest person I know for going through all of that on top of all the things with Voldemort. You survived and are such an amazingly good person. None of what you have been through has ever been your fault. ”
Harry looked in his godfather's eyes and leaned forward into another hug. He finally had a family who didn't want to hurt him. God his breath shuddered as he felt arms encircle him. It was the craziest thing to him, people listening. Tears started to fall, he kept thinking "Someone noticed, and it wasn’t his fault."

When do you think Ron and Hermione has sex for the first time
Well, hello to you too, anon!
So, I actually have two separate headcanons about what might have been the timeline for Ron and Hermione and their first time together. Suffice it to say, I think it wasn’t long after the war and that it happened before Hermione went back to Hogwarts. However, the detail I get stuck on is whether they got down to business when they went to Australia to get Hermione’s parents (which I’m fairly certain happened only a few weeks after the battle of Hogwarts), or if they “waited” until the night before Hermione was supposed to leave for Hogwarts.
And because I love Romione and I feel like writing about them (and since you technically asked), Imma break both scenarios down for you :)
***Side note: I have totally thought about writing these as actual one-shots. That might still happen. Sorry if I spoil future writings for anyone haha
The trip to Australia Headcanon:
For this one, I like to think that after the Grangers were located and their memories were restored, Ron and Hermione spent some time relaxing and enjoying Australia together. It goes without saying that Ron and Hermione went through such a beyond hellish year - they both watched the other almost die more than once, they fought together, they mourned together, they loved and lost together. But more than that, they were forced to grow up insanely quickly.  They never got to be normal 17/18-year-olds. They never got to explore a relationship together under normal circumstances because during the time they would have, they were dealing with the death of Dumbledore, learning about Horcruxes, joining the Order, and agreeing to go help Harry on what was easily the most difficult and terrifying “adventure” yet. Honestly? After all that, they earned the right to just be.
So, in this headcanon, I imagine Ron has been formulating a plan since before they left for Australia. He doesn’t expect anything to happen, and sex was never the main objective for him. However, he has been working out the details for a proper date with Hermione for weeks - he even enlisted the help of Harry and some of his brothers (who obviously ragged on him about it, but also overwhelmed him with advice, some of which made his ears burn fiery red for hours).
Now, Ron doesn’t make it a surprise; he kinda wants to, but he also knows Hermione which means she would probably rather be aware of his plan so she can prepare. So, he tells her while they’re packing to leave that he’d like to take her out one night once things are settled down, but before they come back to England. Hermione is a bit taken aback, but pleasantly so - she’s been so laser-focused for so long and Ron knows that she would never have even thought to do something fun or relaxing unless it was planned in advance and added to her calendar.
Once they find her parents, things are a bit chaotic, but in a good way. There are a lot of long conversations, tears, and long days spent helping her parents disassemble the life they made while in Australia. But ultimately the Grangers are just grateful Hermione is there and safe and they welcome Ron into their tiny, but close-knit family as well. And as things start to slow down, Ron “officially” asks Hermione on a proper date. He even tells her he’ll pick her up at her parents’ place (when Ron and Hermione first arrived in Australia, they stayed in a small hotel room. Once the Grangers were located, however, they started staying with them. But, conveniently, they never did get rid of their hotel room…)
They go out on a date and they are both oddly nervous and excited and silly. Ron gives her flowers and insists on opening every door for her. Hermione quietly holds his hand every chance she can and can’t stop smiling or looking at him. They eat and drink a little, and talk almost endlessly about everything and nothing. They banter back and forth, but it’s playful and light and feels so normal, that it’s actually a relief. Overall, the night is lovely and romantic and it’s just them for the first time in what feels like forever and they both feel like they’ve won the lottery.
At the end of their dinner, they take a walk together. They almost incessantly hold hands and gently brush up against one another. Finally, feeling bold, Hermione asks if they can stop at the hotel to check and see if she left something there (spoiler alert: she absolutely didn’t and she knows damn well she didn’t. Ron, however, is not one to complain). Once there, they start talking about how it is almost a year to the day from the night they danced together at Bill and Fleur’s wedding. They talk about how, if the night hadn’t ended the way it had, they might have finally confessed their feelings for one another and maybe even kissed. Ron, because he’s a freaking romantic bean, then asks Hermione to dance. She blushes, but nods and they quietly begin to sway together, holding each other close.
They tell each other they love each other. It’s not the first time they’ve said it, but it somehow feels different this time. Hermione lifts her head from off his chest and tilts her face up to look at him. They kiss. They stop dancing.
And then… well…
When Ron and Hermione head back to her parents’ house that night, they literally cannot stop giggling or touching one another. Seriously, they have ZERO chill, but in a cute and kinda hilarious way. They are just so stupidly in love with one another and finally feel like they’re free from the painful year they had. They can’t stop basking in the glory of this night and all the things that are ahead of them. And the really wonderful thing is they don’t have to.
The night before Hermione leaves for Hogwarts headcanon:
With this one, I fully headcanon Hermione ran the show. She is a woman who is wildly in love with her boyfriend, who is painfully aware of the fact that they are about to spend an extended period of time away from each other for the first time in over 7 years, and has decided that she is done waiting (cue the Sirius jokes, ala “I DID MY WAITING!”). She has it all planned out, including all the boring minutia and tiny details because 1) it’s Hermione and 2) it helps calm her nerves and keeps her focused on creating a perfect evening for them both.
Hermione knows what she wants: Ron Weasley, alone, far away from prying eyes and rules about separate sexes in separate bedrooms no matter what the circumstances. And, naked. Very, very naked.
In this particular headcanon, I believe that Ron (along with the help of Charlie and even Percy) has already begun helping to put Weasley Wizard Wheezes back together. It was abandoned once the war was in full swing, and as a result, the shop dealt with a fair share of looting and vandalism. George is still not really able to bring himself to working just yet, but Ron… well. He’s Ron. He’s kind and loyal and loving and supportive. And he’s absolutely determined to help revive the incredible and successful business his brothers created both because he loves George and wants to help him and because he loves and misses Fred and wants to honor him by doing the thing he knows he loved. That business was his life’s work, and Ron is dedicated to bringing it back to its former glory, especially if it means giving George a safe place to return to.
Of course, this means Ron is working a TON. And it’s not easy, putting it all back together again. It’s rewarding, yes, and it’s certainly helping Ron heal in a way as well (and he’s not upset at the compensation George is giving him for his willingness to help restore WWW). But it’s exhausting and tough, and some nights, he stays so late at the shop, he ends up sleeping in the flat upstairs.
Hermione tries to help as much as possible. She is there with him when she can be, offering as much support as she can while trying not to panic about their rapidly dwindling days together. But it can be difficult. Working on fixing up the shop, recreating products and inventory, and creating new marketing strategies in a very tender market is hardly romantic. Not to mention the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Granger, who are newly home from their year-long “holiday” in Australia, are a bit clingy, for lack of a better word. Top that all off with the slow simmering panic Hermione is beginning to grapple with as she faces going back to Hogwarts, alone, to try and finish her education…
So, Hermione decides that she will not let Ron’s and her summer end without one perfect evening as a couple. She loves him so much it makes her heart race, and she wants him to know that in every single way possible.
Her plan is fairly simple: sneak into the flat above the shop, make a romantic dinner for her and Ron, and then seduce her boyfriend. Somehow, she has gotten her parents to agree to let her spend the night at the Weasleys (on the condition that she agrees to meet up with them in the morning at the train station to see her off). She knows that Ron is planning on working a half day in the hopes of spending the evening at the Grangers’, and specifically with Hermione.
However, when he finishes working for the day and decides to run upstairs to the flat to shower before heading over, he is stunned to find Hermione is there. She tells him that her parents may be under the impression that she is having dinner with his family tonight. Ron is totally speechless but his face breaks into a massive grin. He’s a mess from working in the shop, but he tells her he’ll only be a minute as he takes the fastest shower of his entire life, and comes back out to have dinner with his girlfriend.
After dinner, they sit together on the sofa, talking about how quickly the summer has gone. Hermione tells him she is terrified of going back to school - that she is scared she will be so much further behind than everyone else; that she doesn’t know what it will be like being in the castle again and surrounded by constant reminders of what they went through back in May; that she doesn’t know how to be at Hogwarts without him and Harry because it’s always been the three of them and being on her own is utterly terrifying and heartbreaking all at once.
Ron knows her fears are real, and he hates that they’ll be apart too. Secretly, he’s also nervous for her to be back at the castle where so many of their friends and loved ones fought and died. He hates that he won’t be able to check on her, aside from letters and the occasional Hogsmeade weekend (which is really just a few hours one Saturday a month, give or take). He hates that he won’t be able to make sure she’s taking care of herself and that she’s not overworking herself or stressing herself out to the point of exhaustion.
But even though he, too, is nervous for her, he tells her she’ll be brilliant. That she won’t be alone because she’ll have Ginny and Luna and Dean and all the others who are returning for their 7th year. He’ll write every single day, even if it’s just to say, “Hello,” and “Make sure to eat something,” and he’ll come to every Hogsmeade weekend and every single Quidditch game, even the ones he doesn’t care about like Slytherin vs Hufflepuff. And he’ll even sneak onto the school grounds if necessary because he’s fairly sure there’s still one or two hidden passages that work. Hell, he’ll even come and help Hagrid with groundskeeping or even run around the castle with Filch and Mrs. Norris if she needs him there because he would do anything for her and really, she should know that by now.
And Hermione, who had planned everything out and had every intention of being perfect and precise and much more deliberate and methodical in her actions, is suddenly overwhelmed with just how much she loves this incredible, kind, wonderful man. So she launches herself at him. Seriously, she practically crawls onto his lap as she kisses him with all the love and passion and desperate desire she has for him. And Ron, because it’s Ron, doesn’t even hesitate. He kisses her back with just as much vigor, holding her tightly to him and poorly stifling a moan and then…
Well, you get the picture.
Afterward, they just lay there holding each other. They talk and continue to say, “I love you,” over and over again, as if they’re trying to somehow fit in a year’s worth of them into one night. Later in the evening, Ron reluctantly asks her what time she needs to get home. It’s only then that Hermione reveals that her parents are actually under the impression she is staying at the Burrow, while, thanks to the help of George, Ron’s parents are under the impression that he is working late at the shop again. As Ron realizes that this means they get to spend the entire night alone together, he suddenly starts to laugh. Hermione Granger is absolutely sneaky and ridiculous and completely barmy and he never could have imagined being as intensely and profoundly in love with someone as he is right that moment.
He kisses her softly, his hand stroking her cheek tenderly, and when all is said and done, they end up getting very little sleep that night. But, as Ron reminds her in the wee hours of the morning and not long after another, ahem, round, without him and Harry there to distract her, she’s bound to have one of the quietest train rides to Hogwarts ever. Which means she’ll have plenty of time to catch up on her sleep then. Hermione laughs and shakes her head before kissing him again. Because really, he is right, you know…
So… yeah. Those are my headcanons. This was probably waaaaay more than you were bargaining for but what can I say? I got really into it haha.

BULLY - Sirius Black
SIRIUS BLACK X READER
WARNINGS: None
PROMPT: Where Sirius apologises
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Your dark robes swayed, as you entered the dining hall you had missed so much. The floating candles made the bewitched ceiling glow, you sat down with your best friends; Marlene McKinnon and Lily Evans, two strikingly beautiful girls, the three of you hit off since you shared a dormitory together.
Your stomach grumbled as your E/C eyes flicked from the large wooden door to your best friends, Marlene was twirling a golden lock around her wand and Lily's nose was stuck into a book.
Finally, the doors flung open, nervous first years stumbled in, anxious, nervous, for what was about to happen, you always enjoyed this typical yearly scene, it amused you to see these eleven and twelve-year-olds stressed about getting sorted. At the end of the table, were the one and only; Marauders, a group of four boys who practically ruled the school. The leader; James Potter was an arrogant git, who bullied Severus Snape, Lily's friend, and others, the genuinely smart and friendly one; Remus Lupin, he was a good student and took care of his friends, though after a certain period of time he would come to school, covered in scars and bruises, it caused a lot of gossips, next was the outcast; Peter Pettigrew; a short (he has a strong resemblance to a rat as Marlene had stated) boy with small watery eyes, he trailed behind those three boys constantly, and finally, the womaniser; Sirius Black; girls drooled all over him, constantly trying to lure him into their bed, only a few girls had managed to get him alone, but it was nothing serious. The Marauders were snickering and howling with laughter, they always seemed to be up to something, and that something wasn't good.
Gryffindor had gained thirteen new pupils, you hoped that they'd make Godric Gryffindor proud, and yourself, you were a prefect and very proud of that. Remus Lupin was also a prefect, so you spent most of your duties with him, he was kind to you and never seemed to bore you, he'd tell you about something stupid Peter had said, or how James had yet again, failed to seduce Lily. This, of course, you already knew, Lily ranted about how he had the brain of a common toad, that he was badly mannered and that he should give up. Halfway through Dumbledore's speech, Sirius groaned loudly, which made everyone turn to him.
▬▬▬▬▬
'Well, Mr Black, you are right on queue as I was about to say; Let the feast, begin!' cheered the professor.
You chuckled to yourself as you watched the first years' jaws drop in awe, the goblets filled themselves with sweet pumpkin juice, plates stacked with mounds of delicious food, and absolutely mouth-watering pudding. You and your best friends chatted supper away, mouths stuffed with pies, the three of you talked about a wide variety of topics. Bedtime arrived soon, tonight was the only night where you wouldn't be on duty, you planned to spend the night engulfing sweets and gossiping.
▬▬▬▬▬
Morning arrived at a supersonic speed, you dragged your tired self out of bed and into the bathroom, eyeing your messy reflection, vivid purple under-eye bags could be seen along with your h/c hair tangled. You cleaned yourself up and put on your perfectly folded uniform, you'd always wondered who did all of this work. It was quite early and no one was really awake, so you took 'Witch Weekly' and headed down to the common room, the sizzling logs from the fire slightly shifted as the fire crackled. Indulged into your magazine, reading the advice column, you didn't notice the four infamous Marauders walk into the room, Sirius' silky black hair caught your attention and you looked up from your book, he noticed you looking and winked at you and you inaudibly gagged. Remus furrowed his brows at Sirius and turned to you.
'Oh, hey Y/N," he waved at you, 'we've got our prefect duties later don't forget.'
'Yep, I know.' you sighed,
'Well, catch you later, bye!'
You watched as they scrambled out the circular room, not even bothering to know what they were up to. The room glowed a gorgeous golden colour as the roaring fire illuminated it, you eyed the scarlet tapestries and the bulletin board, that was soon to be covered in important notices about Hogsmeade, N.E.W.T.S, O.W.L.S and such. Swinging your legs over the squashy armchair you sat in, you walked over to the tall grandfather clock by the entrance and read the time; 7:20 AM, almost time for breakfast. Walking out of the portrait hole, clenching your magazine and you're worn out satchel that slouched over your left shoulder, hopping onto a moving staircase, you made your way down to breakfast.
▬▬▬▬▬
Pouring yourself some Pixie Puffs, you listened carefully to Lily.
'It's a rather interesting subject, I mean why do we keep certain animals as pets when they're obviously dangerous.'
'Well, maybe because there's no record of them doing no harm.' suggested Marlene,
'Possibly. But, I think it's alright if the person who's taking care of them was a professional.' you said honestly.
Lily rolled her eyes, ready to prove you wrong, but Marlene quickly interrupted.
'Anyways, have you heard about Frank and Alice?'
'What about them?' asked Lily.
You were suddenly very intrigued, Marlene leaned in, ready to spill the tea.
'Rumour has it that, she'd been waiting all summer for him to ask her out, eventually, she got sick and tired of lying there day after day waiting for him to ask her, soooo...'
'So? Come on, finish!' you urged,
'Wait, don't tell me-'
But before Lily could finish, Marlene squealed like a piglet.
'She asked him out! And, to no surprise, he said yes!'
'Merlin's beard! Are you serious?' you croaked, choking on your cereal,
'I was about to ask if she'd done that.' laughed the auburn-haired girl.
▬▬▬▬▬
After a few of your morning classes, you had a free period, so the three of you headed off to the Clock Tower Courtyard, hoping to be able to start your essay on Veritaserum. It was a calm day, and you wanted to be in advance, although you knew that Marlene would start getting bored and boundlessly blab to you about her struggles with boys. Sitting down on the freshly mown grass, you pulled out a spare book and placed it on your lap, layering on a brand new piece of parchment, grabbing your ink you dipped it into some ink and started scribbling on information.
halfway through your essay, you noticed two notorious boys hexing a Slytherin boy, Sirius and James versus Severus, Lily shot up, storming up to them, boiling with rage, you quickly grabbed her arm.
'Let me take care of this, otherwise, Potter'll be asking you out, again.' you told her.
She pursed her lips and slightly nodded, sitting back down next to Marlene, who was impatiently watching you march off.
'Leave him alone!' you barked,
'L/N, come to ruin our free period?' snarled James,
'You two better stop now, or I'll be sending you off to detention with Professor McGonagall in a shoebox.' you threatened,
'Why don't you tail along your two little friends, as usual, seems to be the only good thing you do.' implied Sirius.
'You'll regret saying that.' you bellowed,
'What're you gonna do, huh? Turn me into a matchstick, very harmful.' teased the boy.
You growled loudly and flicked your wand, sending Sirius flying, pointing it at James, he backed up slightly, holding his hands up in surrender.
'Alright, alright, relax.'
Stomping off, you snatched up your books and ran up to the astronomy tower, you could feel the steam blowing out of your ears and nose, glaring at people who looked at you oddly, you were going to hide in the library but right now you needed fresh air. A couple of students and teachers tried to ask you what was wrong but you ignored them.
Perched on the railing, head in your palms, you stared at the passing students. Breathing in the fresh air, you relaxed. After a few minutes, you heard footsteps shuffle behind you, swiftly turning around, your eyes met the eyes a boy's grey ones, a boy just a few minutes you had hexed.
'What do you want?' you scowled,
'I just wanted to say, to say sorry.'
'Since when does the Sirius Black apologise?' you asked, moving closer to him,
'Ever since he's developed a crush on the Y/N L/N.' said Sirius lightly smiling.
Your eyes widened and you opened your mouth to say something, but before you could say anything, Sirius literally took the breath out of you, he placed his rough lips on your soft ones. The kiss was awkward at first, but it slowly melted into something passionate yet gentle, you felt him grin into the kiss, slowly pulling away.
'Well, what are we?' you questioned,
'Not quite sure, but we'll figure it out.' he responded,
Taking your hand in his and placing a weak kiss on the back of your hand.
'I know we will'
▬▬▬▬
A/N: I don't really like the ending, but hope you enjoyed it! <3

Draco Falling in love if you were in Gryffindor Pt2
Warnings: Swearing. Angst.
Tumblr media
You were there for the last trial and some anxiety just fucking hit you like a bus
Something was wrong. You knew this and you tried to voice that.
Draco could tell you were nervous for your two friends that were in this
Most of the trial was spent trying to calm you down, Fred and George also trying to distract you
That's when Harry came back and you stood up and saw it
"No." You whimpered.
Draco couldn't see what made you react like that until he realized that Harry was on top of Cedric.
You buried your face in Draco's jacket and just sobbed
Fred and George couldn't believe this happened.
Hermione and Ron watched as Mad eye Moody walked away with Harry sobbing
You were left to hear Cedric's poor father screaming over his dead son's body.
The next few days were hard
No one dared to separate you and Draco.
Which finding him asleep on the couch with you in his arms in the Gryffindor common room was now a regular occurrence.
Mcgonagall never questioned shit.
You helped Harry through his grieving and he helped you with yours.
You spent the summer again with the Weasleys
Fred and George's business was surprisingly well
Something strange happened though.
Mid-day, all of you were sitting around having lunch and there was a knock on the door.
Draco was standing there with this shocked look.
"Draco? Sweetie what's wrong?" Molly asked.
"I've uhm..." He walked in and ran a hand over his face. "I've been disowned." He said making everyone stand up.
"What!?" You asked.
"My uhm.. my family called me a blood traitor for being with you and uh..." Draco blinked a few times.
"They disowned me." He repeated.
"Good lord!" Arthur gasped and you hugged him.
"You've got us Draco... We're not going anywhere." Fred said putting a hand on his shoulder.
"If I see Lucius in public can I kick his balls?" Ginny asked making everyone turn to her.
"What? I'm just saying! A swift kick to the--"
"OKAYYY GINNY!" Molly said putting a hand over her daughter's mouth making you all laugh.
Draco stayed with all of the Weasley's too.
Molly found him sitting outside one night and she sat next him.
"Are you alright?" Molly asked.
"Couldn't sleep. I give Y/n so much crap about staying up late but I'm the one who can't sleep." He chuckled.
Molly put a hand on his shoulder and he sighed.
"We love you Draco. Just the way you are and we wouldn't change a single thing about you. You're not a blood traitor." Molly said.
Draco hugged Molly and she gained a son that day.
The school year started with Umbridge.
That damn woman and cats. What the fuck was with her and cats!?
You hated that woman more than anything and when Fred and George pulled a bunch of fireworks out you were like "Right on!"
Course when they were expelled it pissed you off more than you could possibly say.
For some reason Draco was loved by this woman though and he used that to his advantage.
When he found out about her hurting Harry you actually had to restrain him from killing her.
When centaurs took her you wouldn't stop smiling.
You kept singing "ding dong the bitch is gone" and everyone couldn't stop laughing.
Draco's parents did try to convince him to leave you and come back home to which he responded with a simple "No. Fuck off."
You guys joined the order
You stood by Harry every step of the way and when Arthur nearly died Draco was pissed.
Like he had some murderous rage in him
You all worked with Harry and Sirius though
Sirius actually loved Draco
Like yeah, the kid's dad is an unbearable asshole but damn this kid's got a spark!
Draco actually thought Sirius was awesome too.
When he found out the two of them were related they were like "Hey! Disowned buddies!"
But everything came to a screeching halt when you helped Harry
and ended up in that battle.
Shit hit the fan and of course Draco's father was there.
It all happened so quickly, flashes of light going by you as Tonks tried to get you and Draco to safety.
Then you heard it.
Bellatrix's killing curse.
You turned around and saw Sirius stumble and your heart dropped.
You broke away from Tonks, sprinting to Harry.
You had to pull him back as he let out this hauntingly sad scream.
When you finally got out of there Harry was of course having a meltdown.
Draco was there for him though listening to it all
It was almost hard to believe that Draco hated him at one point.
Draco made him laugh at one point
"Did you see my father's face when the thing actually broke though? I think he almost cried"
Harry was glad he had this guy as a friend
The school year was of course hard on Harry
Ron could see the poor guy's mental state just deteriorating
Draco no longer had to worry about things getting back to his parents, so you bet your ass Harry sat at that table every fucking day.
"Wait wait wait. You're telling me that his cane is also his wand?" You asked about Lucius's cane.
"Yeah he pulled out at the ministry, that's why he carried it with him? I always figured it was because he was a pompous ass who wanted to look official." Harry said making you all laugh.
When Albus died all of you were in this state of shock
Like holy shit this is bad.
Like it was bad before but now it's bad.
When Snape took over Draco genuinely could not tell if he was evil or not.
He was literally the only one in the group who was automatically like "He's evil dude"
You guys didn't realize how bad this would get until you had to bust into Bellatrix's vault
You were more of a look out of sorts
And uhm
All of you ended up at the Manor.
"Seriously, is your dad goth or just a fan of black?" You asked.
"Personally I think he takes the whole evil thing too seriously." Luna said.
"See Luna gets it." You said.
Then they chose a prisoner... Or two.
They figured the quickest way for information was to ask Draco while hurting you.
And boy it almost worked
You screamed bloody murder as she carved into your arm
He had to restrained by two people as you screamed.
Even Lucius thought this was too extreme, for fucks sake you were children.
Harry finally got free though and you all left
You were crying like crazy, you couldn't catch your breath as Draco held you.
The two of you were so scared then and damn it only got worse as that final battle approached.
You told your family to run and do not fucking look back and they did
Molly hated seeing you come home that day
You looked so exhausted and you just hugged her crying.
Fred and George both hated seeing you like this.
I mean: yes you spent your past few years here in the burrow but damn it that was your family.
You finally got to that battle
You fought strong and hard the whole time
Any death eaters near you or your friends went down in seconds
Draco saw Fred in danger and saved his life.
"You just saved my life!" Fred panted.
"Anything for a friend." Draco said also out of breath.
"We're not friends Draco." Fred breathed. "Sorry I--" "We're brothers." He finished.
And damn it Draco fought even harder because the Weasleys became his family.
When Ginny and Molly were in trouble he was not having that shit.
"GET AWAY FROM MY MOTHER YOU PRAT!" he said before fucking destroying her.
Molly managed to find a smile in such a tense situation.
Ginny also thought "This guys an asshole. But he's my brother so it's fine."
You and Draco fought together at one point against his parents
Oh God Draco was a wreck as he was arguing with his father.
"YOU COULD'VE BEEN WITH US! YOU COULD'VE HAD THE WORLD WHY DIDN'T YOU WANT THIS!?" Lucius screamed as he threw attacks.
"I JUST WANTED YOU TO FUCKING LOVE ME!" Draco answered, knocking Lucius on his feet.
"Go. Don't you ever show your face again!" Draco told him.
And Lucius booked it with his mother.
Then the battle reached a halt when Harry was dead.
Draco took it hard, burying his face in your shoulder as Hagrid held Harry.
Hermione and Ron both couldn't believe this was happening. This was their best friend.
You listened to Neville's big "Fuck you" to voldemort before noticing Harry's leg twitch.
You touched Draco's shoulder and Harry finally fell out of Hagrid's arms and Draco grabbed the wand and threw it to Harry
The battle was so bright it looked like the light from it was fucking melting
And then Harry won
It was over.
Everyone was cheering until their throats gave out
You hugged Draco and the Weasleys hugged you guys.
When you finally let go Draco let out a laugh.
"Y/n I have a question." He finally said.
"What is it?" You asked.
"Will you marry me?" He asked.
Everyone in your vicinity went dead silent before you said
"YES YOU IDIOT!"
Your wedding was awesome by the way
Molly made the cake
Later down the road you had kids
And you spent every holiday at the Burrow because the kids loved their grandparents
Course they also loved their uncles who gave them free stuff from their shop.
Everytime you went to King's cross you and the group would get dinner together.
You became a journalist, Draco worked at the ministry alongside Arthur
You absolutely loved the people sitting at the table.
Because damn it: This was family.
And it wasn't going anywhere.

(She Had) Just Enough Time ~ Chapter 3: Broken Resolution
A/N: I don’t like writing about anyone under the age of 15 so I am sorry if this suddenly seems a little rushed...
Tumblr media
All in all, the first year of Hogwarts was a happy blur. Marlene made some amazing friends, while creating only two enemies. She passed all her classes, she had social circles that included all four Hogwarts houses, her parents were proud of her and she left with a new very best friend. (Although Severus got a little jealous whenever Marlene called her that.) And besides Lily, she had Dorcas and Mary. As well as a boy named Frank who was in his Forth year and a girl named Alice who was in her third. They were two of the kindest people Marlene had ever met and were incredibly helpful with anything that they needed.
She had so much to tell her parents when she finally got home to Scotland, and happily went on for hours about the highlights of her year.
“I am very happy for you,” her mother nodded, as Marlene finally stopped talking. She had kept on through dinner, desert and now into the late evening. But she was so excited and happy that neither of her parents had stopped her. Of course, she had already said this all in her letters, and a good amount of it over their Winter Break, but now that the year was all wrapped up, she thought her parents needed a finished copy of Marlene’s first year at Hogwarts.
“And proud as well,” her father confirmed. “It sounds like you are very well liked in your house, and with the others as well!”
“Except for Black and Potter!” Marlene interjected, a slight annoyance clouding her face.
“Yes, of course, how could I forget,” her father quipped with a laugh.
Now her mother stood up and reached down for Marlene’s hand. “And as much as we adore you and your stories, I think you need some sleep eventually! Don’t try to tell me that you haven’t been going to bed on time!”
Marlene would never tell her mom that she had snuck out from time to time and rarely actually curling into her bed when they were suppose to. Her parents already worried too much, so she would never dare make it harder for them. “You’re right mom, I’m really tired, but in the morning are we still going to meet Milo for breakfast?!” She asked excitedly. The blonde was always excited to see any of her brothers.
“I promise,” she nodded, as Marlene got into her bed and her mother affectionately tucked the blankets around her, “I suppose you’re too old to be tucked in now, huh?”
“I still like it,” she smiled earnestly as her mom kissed her forehead and got back up. “Goodnight honey.” And with that she turned out the lights and shut her door, leaving Marlene on her own to fall into a dreamy sleep about what next year would bring.
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
Before she knew it, it was time to board that train again. This time it felt much more real and she gave both her parents tight hugs at the Platform, only to be passed by one very stiff looking Sirius Black, who was standing proper and straight. She was about to shout something at him, but a very intimidating dark haired woman beside him caught her glare, and suddenly Marlene thought better of it. A little further ways down she saw the signature messy hair of one James Potter, trying to impress Marlene’s favourite Gryffindor with something he got over the summer. Lily was grateful when she made eye contact with Marlene and ran over to her, “Thank Merlin, he is so annoying! Have you seen Sev anywhere?”
Marlene shook her head, but introduced her friend to both their parents, and then explained that the annoying boy she was about was of course Potter. Her mom laughed in good nature, while her dad shook his head at her and reminded her not to get too caught up in her dislike for someone
But their advice was lost when Platform grew even louder and the trains whistle blew its first warning. Turning back to her parents she kissed them both firmly on the cheeks. “I’ll miss you!” She waved, before boarding the train after Lily who seemed to have spotted Snape already on the Hogwarts Express. She watched her parents figured sink into the background, slightly sad to be leaving them until the holidays came around.
“I was hoping they wouldn’t accept you back this year, Split Ends.” Sirius’ sassy voice broke her momentary distraction.
Looking to her left she saw that she was standing in front of the cart that James and Sirius seemed to have chosen. Even more disappointing was how Remus was now joining the boys, “I liked you though!” She groaned looking to Lupin before moving along the carriage, in hopes of finding anyone else.
It was Dorcas who found Marlene and brought her along to a compartment of Alice, Frank, Mary and herself. Making room in the cramped space, Marlene sat next to Mary and grinned, happy to see her friends again. “How were your summers?” She asked excitedly .
Frank answered first, his voice ringing with excitement, “Mine was great, Alice came by for my family vacation!”
Alice laughed, “He keeps acting like I was doing him a favour but I got to spend two weeks in Brazil, so I think we both had a good time.”
“Yeah, but I got to spend the time with my favourite person and my family, so I think I win!”
Their friendly banter went back and forth until Dorcas whispered to Marlene, “Why doesn’t he just ask her out already?” To which Marlene laughed, realizing just how sweet of a couple they really would be Hopefully he would get the courage to do it, because she watched out Alice would repeatedly play with her hair, tucking its short locks behind her ear. And how Frank lit up whenever she looked his way. Her cheeks flushed whenever her name left his lips and Marlene wondered how she had missed it before. Dorcas had a talent for noticing things like this.
The others answered after Frank and Alice finished their flirtatious exchange. Dorcas and Mary found out that they lived in the same city so they spent a lot of time together, except for when Mary went North to visit her extended family. Each of them were so eager however to catch up with the rest of the group that it felt like only a few blinks until the train stopped and everyone began clambering off of it. They saw Lily just ahead, and Marlene ran up to walk with her and Severus, this time to the carts that pulled themselves to the school. But instead of the rumoured magic, Marlene saw large bony animals with great wings, patiently standing with the carriages, hooked on and ready to take the students to their school. She was about to say something before Lily made a comment about how fascinating it was to watch the carts move as if there were something attached. With so many others around, Marlene kept her mouth shut. “So did you see that they got Lupin now too?” Marlene jerked her head over to Potter, Pettigrew and Black. Her friends followed her gaze and both Severus and Lily groaned in unison.
“Great,” Severus said first.
But Lily looked more disappointed than anything. “Remus is so kind though, what is he doing?”
“On the bright side, I guess he’s gotten over his name and that whole blood status thing,” Marlene shrugged, still unimpressed with him. It would take a lot more than that to make her think that Sirius Black was someone worth knowing.
Dorcas and Mary caught up just as they boarded their cart. “Hey Lils!” Mary said first, before sitting next to Marlene. “Ready for another magnificent year?”
“Not sure that’s the word I’d use,” Severus said under his breath, but Lily nudged him and he said no more.
And as expected their start of the year feast was everything they had missed, they caught up with all their friends and discussed which classes they were looking forward to. Marlene drank so much pumpkin juice and ate so many platefuls of food that she was sure she wouldn’t be eating for the next week. They all retired to their common room and Marlene almost laughed at the memory of this time last year. Looking over, she saw Sirius sitting by the fire on his own, while the rest of the Gryffindor’s were settled into their beds. “Welcome back, Poodle Head,” Marlene waved before going up the stairs, wondering why he was still up anyway. She heard him shout some sort of insult back, but shook it off, some things wouldn’t be changing this year and that much was for sure. But a twelve-year old Marlene thought about it as she got into her bed and decided that perhaps she should try no longer succumbing to his constant insults. She could show him that she wasn’t on his level and she was if anything, a better witch than he was a wizard. As her eyes closed, she went through it in he head, imagining him insulting her and her saying nothing back. How over time it would drive him mad and she would win because he would finally stop and have to admit that he was childish and immature. A smile was on her lips as she fell into a deep slumber.
The next morning as they left the Great Hall for the first Defence Against the Dark Arts class of the year, Sirius approached her and Marlene, remembering what she had decided, took a deep breath as he started talking.
“I see you finally took my advice and cut your hair, McKinney.” Which was true, she had just recently gotten a hair cut. “You should really deal with the colour though, it looks a little orange, not flattering at all, just like your uniform, it makes you look all weird and short.”
Marlene’s eyes narrowed, “I’m literally the same height as you are, Black, and wearing the same robes.”
“I AM PERFECTLY NORMAL HEIGHT, MCKITTEN!” He yelled back much more angrily than Marlene had anticipated. Wishing she had began insulting his height earlier, she took her spot in class, away from him and was proud of herself for keeping the her new high route as a Second Year at Hogwarts.
Class was boring, this year they had a professor who was so by the book that he did not even look up once to address the class. Simply read the first chapter out loud and Marlene found herself dozing off.  What finally woke her up was a loud crash and she jumped out of her seat, looking around and what happened. No one was around, not even the teacher, except for Sirius Black who was smirking at her, “Oops, I think I accidentally dropped your books all over the floor.”
Looking down she saw her books in a heap and she grumbled as she picked them up, Marlene hated being suddenly woken up. Especially by someone she didn’t like. But she was still too sleepy to think of anything to do back, and admittedly, she would have slept through her next class as well had he not done it. So she threw her books in her bag and lazily walked out of the classroom, to Professor McGonagall’s classroom to begin second year Transfiguration. She walked in late and the Professor wasted no time taking some House Points. Sirius loudly said something about how everyone else made it on time, so he was curious as to what she did to make herself so late. Yet again, Marlene managed to keep to the high route.
It worked all day, almost. At 2:03pm, they were walking out to the grounds for a lesson about magical creatures when Potter and Black were laughing loudly about one of the girls in their class. She had pimples all over her face, which she clearly did not know how to deal with yet. Marlene stood in front of the poor Slytherin girl and her eyes narrowed into slits, “You two gits really have nothing better to do with your time? Potter, you look like a mop, with your stupid hair and your idiotic crooked smile and those glasses that you think make you look charming but really just make you look like a chav. And Black, don’t let me start on you. You know that you were wrong in your opinions from last year, when you thought you were better than the rest of us just because of your family name. Maybe you should try using your tiny brain for a few seconds and realize that making fun of a girl for how she looks is just the same as doing it because of her blood status. Besides, sure she has a few pimples, at least her whole head isn’t so large that it needs deflating. A skin potion is easy to make, however turning a prat into a decent member of society is literally impossible, so sod off the both of you before I hex your precious hair off!”
The group surrounding them froze in their spot but no one said a thing, the girl’s soft sobs were an echo, until Lily wrapped her arms around the Slytherin and comforted her, offering to help make a potion that would clear them up in no time. Mary was grinning and took everyone’s shock as a women to clap loudly, “Amen!” She shouted loudly and Dorcas joined her until the rest of the group was applauding Marlene for putting the boys in their place. Of course, by the end of the day, Potter and Black had everyone loving them again by showing off during class, but Marlene still took it as a victory and decided that not sinking to his level was worse, because at least if he was insulting her she could take it.
So, resolution aside, the quips between Marlene and Sirius only got harsher and faster, until they couldn’t so much as look each others way without a comment being shot out. Marlene still hated him. Sure, he had stopped using his name as a way to get things. But focussing on his popularity didn’t make her much happier. He was still a bully even if his means had shifted.

Remus was a flight risk. I knew this. I knew it when I started dating him, but I just considered it to be one of the challenges of being with the person I loved. During our time at school, he broke up with me a total of five times. Or at least he tried. I knew exactly why he kept doing it and I wasn’t about to let him get away because of the way he thought of himself. He would do it after a particularly bad moon or whenever he started thinking too much.  The first time he did it, I cried because Remus made my life so much better and I hated that in that moment, I was losing him. It took him all of five minutes to realize it was a mistake. The second time he did it, I cried less than the first time and it took a bit of me talking it out with him. The third time, I just hugged him and we didn’t even bothering verbally confirming that we were still together because we both just knew. The fourth time, I cried, but out of frustration, not sadness. I was confused as to why we had to go through this again. It only caused pain for both of us. The fifth time, I barely flinched. I told him that he was wrong about what he thought was going to happen, that he needed somebody in his life to remind him of this. He cried that time. I almost broke down seeing him like that. That’s why I was so sure that I needed to stay with him, because of how strongly he made me feel these emotions that I hadn’t known existed before him.
Now we had graduated. The boys were sharing an apartment and not too far away, Lily and I were doing the same thing. Although ours was much smaller and me usually ended up staying over with our boyfriends anyway. We spent as much time as possible trying to live our lives and make happy memories as the war approaching promised bad ones.
It was one morning, I woke up and was sitting on our tiny couch, drinking coffee and just relaxing before I had to go anywhere. I didn’t really have plans for the day, but it seemed that whenever I didn’t have plans, an owl would show up and all of a sudden I was leaving the house and getting home at midnight or maybe not at all. As I expected, a knock on the door sounded through the living room, signaling my day would start early as usual.
As I walked over to open the door, I noticed an envelope on the floor. It had come through the mail slot, which was weird because there hadn’t been anything there when I went to bed, meaning this had been a very early and probably important message. I picked it up and turned the lock of the door, opening it to reveal James. He had on a coat and his face was tinted pink from the harsh winter winds.
“Morning James, Lily’s not up yet.” I said, letting him inside and closing the door to keep the cold out. I took a sip of coffee, knowing that even in the early hours of the morning, the marauders had energy.
“That’s not why I’m here.” He tells me as I close the door. He seemed a bit strange. He wasn’t his usual upbeat self, but rather he looked tired, as though he’d already been up for hours.
“Has Remus stopped by here?” He asks, taking his coat off.
“No.” I said, beginning to worry. “Is something wrong.”
James sighs and looks at the letter in my hand. “What’s that?”
“Don’t know. Haven’t opened it yet.”
“It’s from Remus.”
“What?”
“He left one for us too.”
“What do you mean? Why is he leaving us letters?” I asked, beginning to panic a little bit.
James stared at me for a few seconds, clearly debating whether or not he should tell me what his letter said.
“James, what’s going on?” I said sternly.
“...Just read the letter.”
I put my coffee mug down on the table and turned over the envelope to see my name in Remus’ handwriting. I used to love seeing that. I used to be so excited when I got letters from him over the summer, but I wasn’t so sure I wanted to read this one.
Ripping it open, I unfolded the parchment and read the letter out loud;
“Dear Y/N,
I love you. I love you and I’m sorry, because that right there is the reason I can’t stay any longer. Maybe in school it was okay, as the only thing I was afraid of was hurting you, but in my mind I knew that you were strong and smart enough not to let that happen. With the war approaching, I’m becoming more of a target because of my condition. As long as we’re together, you’re being put in the path of danger just as much as I am. I can’t do that to you, so I’ve decided to leave. I knew that if I had said this in person, you would’ve somehow convinced me to stay as you have many times in the past.
Please take care of yourself, don’t come after me. Remember that I love you and maybe one day, if everything ends well, I’ll come back.
Love, Remus”
I didn’t know what to do. I just dropped the letter on the floor and walked over to the couch. Putting my head in my hands, I tried to comprehend what I had just read. Remus couldn’t have left, he just couldn't have. Didn’t he know how dangerous it was to just walk around on his own, even if he had his wand? Especially considering his condition. People who looked down on werewolves and referred to them as “half breeds” were often in association with Voldemort and wouldn’t hesitate to kill him. Where the hell would he go? I look up to see James reading the letter.
“Sirius found one just like this when he woke up this morning. That was around 6 o’clock and we still have no idea where he is.” James explained.
“He ran away.” I said, quickly standing up, but James blocked my path.
“Where are you going?”
“I don’t know! To find Remus! To owl his mother? To go to Dumbledore, or somebody, anybody!”
“Y/N, we already asked his mother, she hasn’t seen him.”
“Well, than to Dumbledore-”
“We did and Remus is not at headquarters.”
“Than to go out looking for him.” I said, tears finally pouring over and small sobs erupting from my throat.
“Y/N we can’t just go out into the snow-”
“We can if he’s out there!” I put a hand over my mouth trying not to make too much noise as Lily was still asleep.
“Come here.” James pulled me into a hug and we collapsed onto the couch. I cried into his shoulder for a while.
“I was afraid this would happen.” I muttered. “I should’ve talked to him. I should’ve made sure he knew that it was safer if he stayed.”
“Hey, it’s not your fault. In fact I’m pretty sure you’re the only reason he stayed around as long as he did. And you and I both know that he still wouldn’t have stayed even if he thought it was safer for himself.”
James was right. Remus still would have left, thinking it was safer for us if he was gone, but if he thought for one minute that I wasn’t going to search until I found him, he was dead wrong.
