All right, I started this and was all in, but… while this was well written, I found it painfully anticlimactic, and it required more suspension of disbelief than I was capable of providing.

Ultimately, I’m rating this up to 3 stars, because although I wasn’t the right reader for this, it did keep me turning the pages.

Ravel Tales is a fun new collectible toy that is part DIY craft and part plush. It’s a ball of yarn with 12 fun surprises wrapped up inside. In Series 1 there are 14 plush to collect including two super rares, a Unicorn and a Panda. There are so many adorable ones you could unravel. The Knittens, Pom Pom Pups, Button Bears or even Purl Ponies.

The first layer is a thick piece of yarn that will start your unwinding experience. When you start unraveling the middle layer of medium sized yarn you will begin to see some surprises. Unravel the final layer of thin yarn to see what cutie was hiding inside the ball of yarn.

When you have finished your unraveling experience you will have unwound various crafting items. Button charms, Sewing needle and so much more. With the items included you can start your fun DIY crafts.

Make a pet bed for your ravel tale, pom poms, friendship bracelets, necklaces or even a collar for your Ravel Tale with the name tag button included.

I made the pet bed. Use your sewing needle with the medium sized yarn to sew all the way around the fabric included. Make sure to leave an opening so you can use the first layer of thick yarn as your bed filler. Finish sewing it up and tie a bow to complete making your bed. Drive-By Truckers - The Unraveling - 2020

This is the first new release I’ve spun, digitally, so far this year.  I was thinking about half way through, this is what I would expect by DBT.  A little more straightforward in the lyrics, addressing hot topics of today. 

The song that stuck with me the most, was track 7, “Babies in Cages.”  Starts as a very innocent sounding acoustic song, then ramps into a more funky version of the southern country rock DBT is known for.

Almost feels more like a solo Patterson Hood album.  Seems like he had a lot on his mind, and Cooley was crowded out a bit.  Might take a few more listens to truly appreciate - but I do appreciate DBT taking the time to document their POV of the times we’re in.  For now, if I had to choose between two, I’d listen to their 2016 American Band release.
