The way Edward Hyde is described in the book is so funny because he's just. A short angry guy trampling over children in the streets

Woke up from a comma with the dream induced mess that was Monster High but instead of being like all the characters based of the movie adaptations, it's just the monsters from the books

So, the Creature is crying the entire time because no one wants to be his friend

There's like way too many vampires, and Dracula is definitely a fuck boy; and somehow gets away with that because he's popular

Jekyll is at the school counselor because dude keeps having intrusive thoughts and is constantly on the verge of a breakdown (aka accidentally trampling people just because)

Hyde are said intrusive thoughts, and he's seen as

A. A weird Kid

And

B. The oddly quiet kid SOMETIMES, before shifting and not shutting the fuck up

Victor and West are all also there, they just applied via scholarships; Henry and Cain got there too, thanks to the other two getting a 'human' plus one, because the school wants some more "diversity" and thinks accepting a few more humans could do that

It's litterally "mutual pining" and "two (not so) old idiots in love", so fun and touching to work with and read! Even if it's one-sided. The fact that the characters have a touch of "blank slate" opens many possibilities as a reader or writer, anything is possible, open to interpretation... it's great!

Dawg, I just woke up and I have school in like three minutes; chill, for the love of God please, I cannot be doing this

Maybe this is a stretch, but I think Edward Hyde is more tragic than Jekyll. Partly because anyone who read the novella will know Jekyll's a hypocritical bitch, but Hyde was created solely for the purpose of evil. He was never even given a chance to try and be a good person. And if he had, if he had tried he would be destined to fail anyway, because that's what Jekyll made him for. And because this is the purpose he was created for, no one around him gives him a chance either. Everyone who meets Hyde assumes he's a terrible person, without knowing him. And I know that's one of the Victorian beliefs; your outward appearance is affected by your sins, but given that one of Stevenson's messages is that appearances are deceiving... I do wonder how Hyde could be if he hadn't been designed for the very purpose of evil. And I know, that he is still Jekyll, but if Jekyll is allowed to separate himself from Hyde in his confession, I'm allowed to do it too.

Imagine reading the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and NOT knowing the twist at the end. I wonder if I would have figured it out or not
