The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: 10/10 ⭐️

I liked this book. It exceeded and dashed my expectations. And I really wasn’t expecting it to be as funny as it was at parts.

Jekyll and Hyde also gets three bonus emo boys for the way everyone was acting about Hyde. “He is the evil of man incarnate” babes he stepped on one kid (and then paid the parents for it instantly) and killed one man, after months of repression. He’s just a gremlin.

some of my headcanons;

-jekylls hair got darker as he got older while uttersons got lighter

-utterson got a big ass jumper

-jekyll NEVER wears his blazer and always rolls up his sleeves while utterson is the complete opposite and always wears his uniform correctly (ignore he doesn't have his blazer here. whatever. kids goofing around)

-they're like 14 here

-idk marks on jekylls arm cuz these teachers abused the students (if my knowledge on that is a bit rusty please let me know)

-jekyll has long ass hair cuz his parents are too busy to get it cut but he enjoys it, in the future does chop it off though

-on the other hand utterson is forced to have short hair and can't grow it out, in the future he does grow it out 🥲

-jekylls a little trouble maker and drags utterson into his shit

-utterson turns so fucking pale in winter

I love everything about this drawing.

I'm finally done with my Jekyll and Hyde Magical Girl drawing!!!

Someone suggested that the transformation from Jekyll to Hyde is like a magical girl transformation and I thought that was SO Fucking funny I had to make this.

Also, Aika!! The pilot is so funny XD. And I love love love that her first transformation was a de-transformation into her everyday look!

Glad we get to see Jekyll again... he's definitely not okay. I saw this really insightful catch from someone in the comments that the Zosis are leading Hyde towards Jekyll, and the fact they're church grims...

I know I know, I'm grabbing the takes from out of the orbit but look me in the eye and tell me that a Ghibli take on gothic literature wouldn't look absolutely beautiful. The style is just so both aesthetically alluring as it just brutal and visceral at times, I think it would fit Jekyll and Hyde perfectly.

I stumbled across @arythusa’s The Glass Scientists webcomic early this year and fell in love, so I animated a little scene for fun 🧪

I built a Front and 3/4 Front Jekyll and Hyde rig (fun fact, they’re one rig!) and animated them in Toon Boom Harmony, HalluciLanyon spawning and getting harpooned is a tweaked version of that rig, and him getting bodied was drawn in Procreate.  The layout was also made in Harmony. The audio is from the movie Drop Dead Fred.

I used the comic itself as the ‘model sheet’ to build the rig off of- used various panels for their heights and body parts in place of character, hand, mouth, etc sheets, so many pieces are pulled right from the pages. I also got to experiment with compositing, which was fun!

The art and story of this comic hooked me and I’m so excited to see where it goes! ❣️
