In the past week only £45 has been raised for Sahar and her children. If she's going to reach £55,000, this is not going to work.
Please, all I ask is if you donate at least £5, the price of a cup of coffee.
If you need more incentive, I am also taking commissions for donations to this campaign (and many others). If you're interested, you can find out more information here: (Link)
I appeal to you to save my family and children from this war, the situation is getting worse day by day. We have been displaced several times now, we do not know what will happen.. because the situation has become more dangerous than before.. I appeal to you for urgent help and donations even if it is a little for us, you are our only hope in this war.. and thank you for your support and generosity and for your prayers for us..

"Lament! Terror! Despair! I shall kindly teach them all to you! And in your final moment, I... shall kill you by my own hand!!"
pandora hearts print for anime north this weekend 🥀🖤🤍
I also put this up on my inprnt! there's a sitewide sale for 40% off right now 🌟
For this drawing, I really wanted to emphasize the gothic and chaotic, convoluted nature of the series. Pandora Hearts has become a lot of things to me, as someone who's read it since I was like, 14 years old. but I eventually found the perfect words to sum up the series - a cross between a Shakespearean tragedy and a Grimm fairy tale.
The ink brush + watercolour brushes I used turned out so well together!! I wanted the style to be kind of a nod to like the manga cover art you'd see from the late 90s to 2000s, kind of like Mochizuki's early approach to traditional art.
A lighter approach to both the lineart + coloring also helped me not strain my arm too much - besides work, I stopped doing full illustrations due to the amount of work being heavy on my arm/shoulder T__T. my last full illustrations were the TGAA/DGS zine + WHA zine pieces back in Dec-Jan, but my heart really lies in illustrations more than anything and I definitely want to get back into it!! (as long as my physical health allows it!!)
anyways, above is the thumbnail/inspiration board for this drawing! I also did some quick chickenscratch studies of others' drawings to help me get a sense of their composition. I started on the top left and then made a sort of meandering curve through... definitely went through a lot of ideas for this one. If I explained the intended symbolism.. I would be here.. all day..............
the candles were definitely first inspired by an animation of a lighter I did during art skool... and then I did this AA Dahlia animated illust... and then this OC charm (below) I did in 2022...? maybe I should draw fire more often. it's like, the way that fire looks in animated keyframes that I really like drawing out, and I guess I kinda really enjoyed translating that into a non moving visual medium??
This drawing simultaneously took SO long but I also sped through it?? I had to like... not dwell too long on certain parts... like for example I think some individual character compositions really could be a lot stronger... because I knew this would be a beast of a drawing, I didn't want to spend an unnecessary amount of time focusing on details when I should be looking at the big picture. and I know that's a bad habit of mine!! I'm trying to unlearn my perfectionism!!
thanks for reading if you got this far, hope ya enjoy it!! and I hope I'll keep drawing Pandora Hearts in the future (clearly I haven't stopped since high school omg) and I hope to draw some more Vanitas someday beyond just chibis!

im new to dhmis tumblr do you have any dhmis blogs you recommend i check out?
OH HIIIII HI HI HI OKAY SO. I HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS IN THE LIL. tumblr dhmis sphere and theyre all great and lovely and I'll introduce you to them all and YOU can decide who you want to follow okay? OKAY!!
First up is my lovely friend Lulu @lulu-draws-stuff who has a cute very crayony pastelly style! :] They also have a keen fashion sense and love drawing the guys in new and fun outfits! They also have some very cute funny comics in there that I very much reccomend -v- )b
Next is my good friend Sodie.. @mtsodie who also runs the account @dailydogdadduo and he has a very textured, experimental style with a lot of variety! Very fun! A lot of his pieces like, you could swear were by different people if you didnt know better, that's how good he is at it!
Also my friend @its-mayo0 draws a TONN of great DHMIS stuff, their style is very loose and colorful! It's extremely funny stuff and I love the way they mix cartoonish antics/proportions with sincerity, their stuff is SOOO FUN!!
theres also @carehounds which is run by my buddy Fio! Theyre most well known iirc for spurring off the little fandom thing of people making their own versions of the trios? Though if you're new you might not know that. Good stuff, esp if you want to see a new spin on the old guys!
There's also all these great pieces from other friends of mine who aren't necessarily DHMIS centric blogs!
On the more written side of things, one of my friends Pere ( @marsupials-of-mars ) is actually writing a pretty good fanfic atm that's still currently updating- but they also do art as well if youre SOLELY looking for that.
Then there's Am @gnomeniche who I believe is mostly well known for their DHMIS analysis posts, they break down a lot of different aspects of the characters and the show (usually with a twinge of meta in the analysis) and, like Pere above, also make fanart on top of that! Though I will warn you a bit that their analysis is very… academicy? Lots of complex concepts and big words that you might not fully get on the first go round. But thats okay! Theyre lots of fun to reread! ^_^ )b
Also in the analysis sphere is my friend Gray @yellow-pig! They also do a pretty good job breaking things down and they talk often about theories and parallels and reoccurring elements in the show, some that I didn't even notice myself! Very fun. As with my other analysis friends, they ALSO draw some! Isn't that wonderful! How the love of this show supersedes mediums!
Also on the writing side but more on the funny side I would say is definitely Roswells' DHMIS blog @joepelling , lots of headcanons and jokes and fun info about the people BEHIND DHMIS. Their side blog, @dailythreeofthem is also really good if you want references for drawing the main three yourself!
I hope this was helpful and I hope it was a good start!! :D

Hello!!!
A friend of mine really, really loves your art style and wants to know if you have any tips for getting the smooth geometric designs you get on your lifeless art?
Thank you so so much (and your art is gorgeous!! We both love your objectum pieces and ultraviolet pieces!!!)
i think smooth geometric designs take up like. two parts of an art process, one of which is "designing something in a geometric fashion" and the other of which is "making the design look smooth in some way".
so below are some examples of how i work out designs and geometric shapes when drawing things. usually it is the general process as many other artists advise, start with drawing out the overall shape. a keyboard is a rectangle with some more sides. a water bottle is a rectangle with curves. a pen can be just a rectangle. the sun is a circle. and then after i break stuff down into basic shapes i look for how i can make the details clearer.
like with the ibm pc (left) you can see that theres a little gap in between the part of the computer with the screen and the rest of it. if i want to make that depth more noticeable, what i can do is either make that little segment a different color from the top and bottom parts of the computer, or i can simply put space around it to make it clear that its a separate segment. so you can see when i color in the computer in black, the middle rectangle sement is surrounded by white and it has a bit more distinction than it would without that.
same thing for the pen in the given example on the right, i visualize the overall shape as a rectangle with a few extra details. then i add the details in shape, color it in, and erase out a few lines where the pen would be cut into segments. so really for my geometic shapes my approach is just to divide things up into a few simpler parts.
now to make the stuff look clean or smooth usually i erase things out instead of drawing all the lineart. you can see in my earlier example of the pen that i erase parts of the pen rather than draw new lines in, i think that this keeps the form and shape of the pen better than drawing a line over the pen itself.
for specific tools, i use the digital pen in ibispaint x, which lets me get get very finicky with details down to individual pixels. but also even if you don't have that specific brush, using tools like a circle tool or ruler tool to draw/erase straight lines is a big thing i do. because nobody can draw perfect straight lines, and its near-impossible to erase in a perfect circle. in the above examples you can see the horizontal brushstroke ive made, i then use a ruler tool at 90 degrees to erase some of the right and left ends of the stroke, creating a nice neat little rectangle. i do this a lot for all of my pieces, especially in more recent ones like the building piece and such.
but yea all in all my art style was made to be easier and make shapes more clear for myself, usually i just find myself focusing on whether i can illustrate something nice with simple lines and shapes

The Art of Beauty ~ Post-BoTW Zelink
words: ~900
read on ao3
“Your hair’s getting long.”
Link’s eyes flutter open, drawn by the words from the soft lull of his meditation. It was something that Zelda had recommended he try after the Calamity, when he couldn’t sleep through the night and was restless all day. It helps. Clears his mind, helps him focus. He thinks about Zelda, or the comfort of the Gerudo sun, or nothing at all. It’s nice.
Do you like it? Link signs. He tips his head back, smiling as the princess comes into view upside-down. She matches his expression, impossibly elegant.
“I do.”
There’s no school today– the children are allowed the weekend to play and so Zelda is too, the duties of teaching briefly forgotten. She sits down behind Link and curls the ends of his hair around soft fingers.
“I do believe it’s longer than mine.” She laughs, bright and easy. Her hair is cut short now. She had cut it after moving to Hateno, eager to rid herself of the symbol of royalty and opt for something more practical. Link had helped her. This new style falls in a gentle frame around her face, barely brushing the line of Zelda’s jaw. She tucks it behind her ears or braids it into a band around her head when she wants it out of the way– Link likes it best loose. When she’s just woken up in the morning and it falls over her face, glowing with sunlight. Sometimes she’s so beautiful he can’t even bear to look at her.
“It’s lovely.” Again, her words draw him from thought– she’s awfully good at that.
Link feels his cheeks flush, warm and sunny, lips quirking up into a smile as he casts his gaze down to a small patch of wildflowers in front of him.
“Thank you, Princess.”
Absently, as if she doesn’t quite notice what she’s doing, Zelda begins to gather honey blonde strands of Link’s hair and weave them together into intricate little braids that cascade down to the tops of his shoulders. She doesn’t fasten any of them, letting the plaits trail off loosely at the ends.
Link doesn’t even notice that his eyes have fallen closed. Zelda’s hands are deft and sure, trained in the art of beauty. She touches him like he’s a delicate thing. Her hands card through soft hair and her fingertips brush ever so lightly against his scalp, like some sort of worship. It makes Link want to cry. She has shown him impossible kindness, has never once wavered in her reverence. Perhaps the only one close to him, now, for whom that is true.
“Why don’t you wear your hair up more often?” Zelda asks gently, working sections into a braid that follows the curve of Link’s hairline above his ear. “It looks so beautiful.”
Link feels his cheeks begin to flush, the heat of the sun nothing compared to the warmth of her compliments. Not used to it, he signs, almost embarrassed, don’t know how to make it look nice.
Zelda’s careful, practiced movements never falter. She begins to join two braids at the back of his head, a perfect golden circlet. “Your mother never showed you?”
Link thinks better than to shake his head, humming a small dissent.
“Well, it’s not too late,” Zelda announces. She picks a small flower from the ground next to them, a little blue blossom that mimics the color of Link’s eyes, weaving its stem through the braid. “I can teach you.” Another flower is plucked from the grass to adorn Link’s hair. “I know my hair’s quite short now, but it should still be long enough to learn.”
Link’s eyes widen. The two of them had slept in the same bed every night since the Calamity. They share every meal, travel the world together, tend to each others’ wounds– yet still, the simple idea of braiding her hair makes the breath leave his lungs. He has to take a deep breath before even thinking of responding.
“Yes, please.” Link swallows, his heart suddenly pounding, the flush on his cheeks only growing darker as Zelda laughs.
“I’m sure you’ll be very good.” Zelda reaches around to press a soft hand to Link’s cheek and encourage him to turn towards her. He follows the gentle direction obediently, eyes wide and face warm. The corners of Zelda’s eyes crease with smile lines. Link can’t wait to watch them grow constant with age.
She beams at him, thumb tracing a soft arc over her knight’s cheekbone.
“I think it suits you.” Zelda leaves no room for argument.
Link can’t even summon his voice to say thank you. He signs it instead, hands more sure than his voice could possibly be.
Zelda lets her hand drift away from his face after a few moments. She lets out a sigh and falls back into the grass next to Link, smile quirking into mischief as she tugs on the back of his tunic to persuade him to join her.
It works, of course.
Link lays back alongside her and lets his eyes drift shut once more. The pleasant buzz of Zelda’s touch still plays on his skin, and he feels his heart skip a few beats when she reaches over to lace her hand in his. Not quite an embrace— just a few fingers tangled together, childish and sweet. He could stay like this forever, he figures, sun-warm and happy with her.
At least a few years should suffice.

Art Trades Opening~
Okay so I hate artfight for specific reasons but i wanna draw and none of my OCs are doing it for me, but idk if i have the organisational skills rn (i have a fuck ton of chores to do today) to accept new comms SO ANYWAYS
I am opening for ~3 art trades. (might come back and do more if I have time)
We will be doing flat chibis (full body) at min. I will not trade a flat chibi for a sketch, you must match my level of completion. You can go above that if you desire (shading, non chibi, etc) but please don't expect me to be able to match your level of completion. I just need to make sure you know what completion level to expect going into this! please don't haggle completion levels (such as offering 2x coloured sketches), i don't really have the energy to think about all that stuff rn sorry.
you must be able to complete your end in at least a month, please. otherwise i will forget entirely about this. also due to past experience, i will not be sending you the full res image of my end if i finish before you. I will only send a low res thumbnail. i will not be sending WIPs for error fixes etc (i will send them as proof of progress!), as this is not a commission, but if i forgot something egregious/important in the finalised image, PLEASE let me know! i still want you to like it!
please no overly complicated characters. mine aren't super marking heavy, either! you can send a complicated character to ask if it's okay, and i'll let you know~
I REQUIRE this info: (feel free to reblog w this form or DM me! if it fits into the replies that works, too.)
Example of your art: (image/link/your art tag) Character(s) you want me to draw: (image/url) Must Haves: (accessories that are not optional, if you wanted the character to be a specific mood/personality, etc)
Here are my characters I'd love to see drawn, pick yer poison~ My furry/anthro characters do not have pronounced muzzles, they are specifically kemono style..!
1: BunSong 2: Shitvee 3: Calpico 4: ChooChoo 5: Cim 6: My Pokesona 7: Yarby 8: My Splatsona
I tried to include variety so hopefully one of them works for you~
#long post#my art#text#if i take a while to respond im doing chores or something!#sorry its so info heavy i like to cover all bases and potential questions

hi friend!
idk how you phrase this but like
How do you draw bodies
because your art style is so good and I’m trying to find mine but people just don’t make sense to me 🥲
but aside from that, how is your day been?
Line of Action - best for figure drawing practice
@mellon-soup - has an INCREDIBLE repetoir of pose references. Here's their insta handle!
PROKO - has a lot of really great drawing fundamental resources on their YouTube channel for free. They also have paid online courses that go more in depth!
PoseManiacs - I used this when I was trying to learn and practice poses as well!
@miyuliart - on Twitter (or X , whatever it is) has a lot of great posts regarding pose study and anatomy! She even has some books for purchase too.
Lovely Blare, you are so sweet!! I'm glad you like my art style ❤️ it's definitely still being developed and I'm no master, but. I'm having fun building up my skills!
See below the break for more info cus this is kinda long lol
Above I've listed just a few of the many many many resources out there to study poses. These tend to be the people I look to most for references, tho they aren't the only ones!
If you're looking to practice and get better at anatomy and the fluidity of your poses, I would suggest starting by drawing actual people first. That way you know how real bodies move and twist and turn and what masclues go where. It makes simplifying and stylizing easier down the road!
Something I did a LOT, and honestly still do a lot, is find pictures of people or art of characters whose poses I like and just try to draw what I see. I have sketchbooks fuuulll of poses I copied just to practice! Tracing can definitely have it's value as well when you're learning!
I utilize Pinterest a lot to creat difference boards for reference photos I may need, and it's come in handy quite often!
I can show you how *I * draw bodies in general, but know that I kind of flub around until something starts to feel right haha. I'm still learning and practicing as well! How I draw bodies may now work for you and that's chill! Its all about trying out lots of different styles and seeing what you like best, or what methods make sense to you.
Fair warning: this probs isn't the most accurate tutorial, I just kinda threw something down as a general example hehe. I'm preaching about references but didn't want to use one at the moment cus I'm tired haha
Often my sketches are much messier and I just make lots of lines so I can find the "right one" lol.
These are some sketches I did for Peggys fan art!
Basically, just keep practicing until it eventually starts to look right lol
#sweet blarefordaglare#art advice#sorry this was so long#im still a novice tbh#study better artists than me#im just out here having fun haga

Looking for an art trade for the Duets pass!
I can draw up to 3 skykids, any cosmetics, in a not-too-complicated background. Any size! I'll pay for all friendship costs up to the pass gifting, and if you want more skykids (max of 8) or more complicated backgrounds, I would prefer it if you could cover the friendship costs. You don't have to send me the pass until you're satisfied with the art, and I'm willing to make any adjustments! I can do 3 styles; more cartoonish, more brushed, and a mix. If you'd like me to attempt a different style not listed here, I can try, but it would be preferred if you could cover all friendship costs. Also, if you'd like a physical watercolor, 7x10 inches, you could send me 150 hearts or cover the next season's pass!
I know that was a long paragraph, so here's a more legible version: - up to 3 skykids, if more, you cover friendship costs (max of 8 kids) - no spirits sorry - any of 3 styles, if other digital style, you cover friendship costs - if you want two or more of the above, friendship costs don't stack! send 5 hearts for 1 of the above, 10 for two of them - simple background, if complex, you cover friendship costs - any size, any sky-related subject matter - for a physical watercolor, you could either send 150 hearts or cover another season's pass as well - i will make any requested adjustments! you send the pass when you're satisfied with my art!
Also, if you really really can't cover friendship costs, you could instead send the extra pass to a friend of mine- he will cover friendship costs.

Maybe you have some drawing tips for beginners?
Your style is incredibly beautiful and it just inspires this thing inside me to grab my iPad and start drawing but unfortunately I have no idea where to even begin
Or maybe you have some recs where to look to learn how to draw stuff?
But I understand completely that it’s your thing and artists should never feel pressured to share all their techniques and secrets, you worked hard on it!
I just really really love your art to the point where I just look at it for 30 minutes straight with this big feeling in my chest
<3
ah it was never about being secretive, i'm pretty open about my drawing process since gatekeeping knowledge is a big pet peeve of mine. It was more like,, laziness because writing a cohesive and helpful drawing tutorial is pretty difficult and i wouldn't even know where to start; i'm afraid i'll get maybe too technical and what have you.
As for tips for beginners, i've shared plenty on my couriouscat so you can scroll through the answers there, i also have some drawing timelapses on my twitter account as well (albeit you'll have to scroll a little)
I'm very flattered you feel that way about my art, it really means a lot to me and i'm glad to have inspired you to draw as well that's awesome and i wish you best of luck!
I actually don't know how different drawing on an iPad is compared to a graphic tablet+desktop, so I am actually pretty clueless in that regard. I think Procreate is the most used digital art app for iPad so you can start by getting it and familiarizing yourself with the UI. I think this step is often overlooked. The brushes and the chosen program can make or break the drawing experience. If you simply find yourself not enjoying Procreate, experiment with other apps or maybe try switching to a graphic tablet, maybe that feels better and is more suited to your tastes.
To be completely honest, one "bad" piece of advice that i should probably keep to myself is to draw something you actually enjoy: fanart, Pretty Girl Portrait(tm), your cat, landscapes etc even if it's above your skill level (becoming obsessed/ fixated on some character from a piece of media also works wonders i'm just gonna throw that out there). The main point is to actually care about your chosen subject in order to get inspired and to have that inner desire of "doing them justice" aka drawing them well. The traditional art learning route probably involves studying the fundamentals, shading spheres and cones and simple 3D forms blablbablah which. Yeah ! sure that's probably better advice but i'm telling you what will make you want to keep going and not get discouraged after a few failed attempts.
As for the drawing subject, I highly recommend having photo references to guide you.. you always need refs it's a recurring thing. My fastest artworks are the ones where I have the right references. the less references the more difficult it is to draw something
As a beginner it is also a good practice to draw OVER your photo reference to get the proportions right ( i'm not talking about literally tracing the contour of a face or limb ( just an example ), but moreso identifying the Main shape which makes up that body part and observe how long is it in respect to the other components, how does it connect to the other parts etc - big difference. Tracing won't help you in the long run).
Another thing you can do is to study your favourite artists and see how They tackle whatever it is that you like in their work. how do they simplify facial features? what about anatomy? color/ light etc and kinda reverse engineer your way through their process. ( but i highly recommend to just keep these practice sketches to yourself, and to not share them on social media- unless you get the artist's permission)
This is how i got into drawing and what i did back then, again, for more technical hands-on information i did answer similar CCs before so with a little bit of stalking you'll find them in no time
I wanna finish this with some resources that helped me:
>youtube guys - sinix, ahmed aldoori, marco bucci, and also just speedpaints in general i highly recommend watching those
>for simplified anatomy i found @/ taco1704 's ref sheets to be very helpful but ........... I'm pretty dry here i just look up refs on Pinterest tbvh
speaking of, here's my pinterest i have a bunch of art related boards board cool stuff overall maybe they can help guide you towards some direction or inspire you in some way idk
ok i kinda suck in the resource department listeN. im starving too just.................. watch youtube speedpaints ok
SORRY IT'S SO LONGGGBGGG i hope it was at least a bit helpful? this was all over the place... I'll try to come up with a tutorial as well but i really gotta be careful with how i go about it. I'll leave you with this for the time being. Again, thank you a lot for the kind words, I really am very grateful and touched esp by that last part about staring with the big feeling stuff eeeeeeeeeeeeee really wow T T that's so lovely and a big compliment thanks ty ly
#long post#this is so messy...... sorry anon#i don't have a very. linear thought process as the kids would call it#you should see my lit essays back in the day lmfao#anyways#if there are typos i'll fix them later#ASK IZTEA#they call me the tutor the way rial my way through the .....#ok nevermind

JASHLING GIFT BOMB, GO!!!!💥💥
this might become a series, or might not, but one night i was feeling fanart-y so i went kablam and boombam—so, tadaaa: art :]. i have some ideas for some others i could draw some doodles for, but don’t ask me to draw ur fellas (just yet?). anyways! this was done with ‘the soft falcon pen (bleed)’ pen on ibispaintX, and drawn in the same-ish session as a previous post [https://www.tumblr.com/thewandererh/750429727850889216/i-think-i-have-a-type]
had some good fun drawing this, so who knows maybe ill make another part all in the style of simple doodles that could be fun to max produce.
featuring:
SUL (bald robot boy) - mine
guel??juno? (floaty flame guy) - Remkae
Heart (scraggly winged figure) - Kalei!!
Heart (toony sweetheart) - @jeweledstone
Mind (silly hair and cheek teeth) - @occulee
loved drawing everyone here!! the diversity in styles and designs is very fun to look and and was neat to experiment with! trying out their style while mincing some of my own in, aswell as how everyone fits on the page,,,mwa💛✨. i really like characters with an exaggeration on expression (+ mesmerizing fluid/fire/smoke animation) so Remkae’s mind design/mindification-of-a-character was a MUst. silly eyes. kalei!!’s Estranger anim crew was very cool to look at and draw, and here i experimented with the squiggles which turned out better than how i usually do it. i had watched the animation recently then and that heart came into…mind. jeweled’s style and fellers are just so fun to look at…i just want to hold them. so simple and neat i love them. i love how their heart fits so nicely in here, looking snug but almost smug. and occulee’s stuff and style just had human faces down and their concepts for mind are very cool :]. trying out different ways to draw hair, and with the 6th spooky month out i’ve been maybe unironically drawing in the roy-hair-style?? occulee’s mind has a mishmash-monstermash hair style. foof to get in his face <33
including some refs of the fellas i drew here for anyone who needs them (will remove if asked). i recommend checking all the artists out!! i linked them up above :]
.-.
that is all for now :] might try again/draw more fanart of these fellows but who knows!
[update time]
maybe expect more content from me? today’s my first full day of summer (yesterday was a half day) and it’s been wild and cool so far. great weather :]!! going swimming on monday💛. also ive been practicing with emoji combinations look
🔅⛵️this is a favorite🦋💦
🪸🌻ough this too🍉🍍
🔅☀️emojis are cool whenever more are added i get happy⭐️✨
🔆this is actually the brightness emoji so it doesnt come up when you search ‘sun’—tricky! pretty though. subtle🔅
anyways!! have a goo day and goobye <3
#chonny jash#cj heart#cj mind#cj soul#gaawdd i love kalei!!’s mind design so much#sul is Ling everyone lmao#i LOVe characters with an emphasis on expression (looks at flame guy)#added some more heart fanarts here to even it out (previous post had two minds and a soul)#lots of diversity in designs here! kind of what i was aiming for#i love fandoms that let you make your own interpretations of the characters#begging i didnt download the photo as a transparent but oh well#digitaldepictions

Hi! I love your art and I’m so curious to know what your art process is like!
i've been trying to figure out how to answer this & i've honestly realized that my process is a mess LOLOL i did record myself!!! drawing fishlegs bc he is the fave & easiest for me to draw! i hope everything i explain under the read more makes sense!!
it took me over 44 minutes to draw & the screen recording in the art program i use (autodesk sketchbook) brought it down to about 7 minutes and 25 seconds. i didn't wanna speed it up even more bc it'd be way too fast & jarring i think but!! i've uploaded the video to youtube (with some animal crossing music <3)!! i will still try to explain what i did here tho!!
my initial sketches are EXTREMELY loose! i start with the head by drawing a circle & extending past it for the chin of the character & proceed to do the nose, eyes, & mouth!! hair is next, but if there's a helmet i need to draw, i'll do that before the hair!! then i'll do the body starting from the shoulders & going down!! for the hands i just do circles/a general shape! no details!!
the sketch layer is a layer of black for the brush color with with lower opacity
i immediately do lines on top with the same brush but with black at full opacity on the kayer above!! this time i actually take my time to be more careful with details BUT i am still very sketchy & if smth isn't 100% accurate after i try a few times, i leave it be! hands however...
i almost always end up taking a photo of my hands using the front facing camera set to a 5 second timer on my phone! i also draw using my phone so it's literally having everything i need all in one place lol!! i do trace my own hands but obv i adjust based on what i'm drawing!! fish's hands are def gonna be wider than mine!!
NOW for color i color pick directly from screenshots!! however i use it mostly for flats & then pick my own for shading!! let's focus on the flats for now!! i start with the skin always!! the skin is going to have color layers above and below it, so it's easier for me to see where everything else will go if i've got the skin all settled. here you can see my color layers!! these are ALL flats!!
shading & lighting i don't rlly... focus on being accurate 100% but i try to do it based on where a shadow would absolutely be/to give the appearance of some type of depth (my art is very flat either way tho!) like where his lower hand is cupping i'll shade but leave the top of the upper hand unshaded for the most part! i lay out everything in a multiply layer first (can be any color u want based on the vibe u want!!) & then use a smudge tool to blend it out!! same goes for the lighting layer!!!
my art overall is a lot of scribbling big lines & curves then using the lineart to do the same but slowly make adjustments until it looks acceptable to me. it's SO much erasing & reshaping & i always have sketch lines everywhere but i like how it looks. it looks like i drew it, u know? plus the httyd books art style is a HUGE inspiration to me, at my core. i didn't even realize it was until ppl on here pointed it out :') i also enjoy drawing fast & moving on!! which is just smth i've trained myself to do since my star fox days (the reason i draw in the first place!!)
thank u!!!! i hope this made sense!!
#rose answers#evilwriter37#httyd#fishlegs ingerman#httyd fanart#🌹 art#i hope this makes sense!!!!!!!#this was rlly fun to do!!!#i'm so unaware of my own process that i feel like it's a lil painful to watch the screenrecording of me#BUT u know what it works!!!!#also: i love drawing freckles LOLOL

Any tips on how to emulate isat's art style?
Hi!
I am but a humble mimic, I sense there are folks who can tell you more accurate details BUT I also love explaining steps I make while making my own art so I'll tell you how I improvised~!
Firstly, I found the wiki (no, not the Fandom one) for all the references. I tried to study how the characters work and I used a lot of just color picking to get the grayscale hues accurate
The lineart is obviously much thinner than what I went for and it seems to use a crispier brush for it to resemble pixel-esque kind of vibe but I wouldn't know which brush it is, I assume it's a custom/adjusted brush!
What I used was "Real G-Pen™" in Clip Studio Paint!
What's fun about this brush (and superior to G-pen brush) is the fun little texture it has that also resembles some of the crispiness but I think the ISAT one has a much finer texture, to give it the aforementioned pixel like vibe.
The thick line I used was just my preference but if you use Real G-Pen with smaller scale and basically only mild pen pressure, you get similar results to the OG style:
(some of the Sif's images has their lineart thicker in some places to give just a smidge of lineweight feel, enough to work with the depth but I demonstrated here how it looks with basically no pressure applied, it has a bit of that crisp and you can probably get a better one if your canvas was bigger than mine here (just under 1200px lol))
I then color picked from the original images to get the flat colors in!
What I did for shadows is just use the layer set on multiply above all the flat color layers, color pick from the white base gray (that Sif mostly has haha!) and use the that shadow for just about anything. I think I also played around with Overlay in the bigfrin image? you can play with layer settings too and see how it works! You will notice that depending on the mood of the scene in the game and the emotions of the characters take priority over how all of this works.
This isn't 100% as it is in the official artwork but I rolled with it most of the time!
You can throw some adjustments and extras here and there if you want it to resemble the dynamic party portraits even more (the extra line strokes, adding a bit of weight to the line, the white line strokes on clothes and hair...)
You essentially end up with something like this!
For the white outline, you can either copy the base color layer (if it covers the whole form) or the lineart layer but move it under the base color and use the border option:
Regular portraits don't seem to have that outline but I like it a lot personally, it makes the image pop XD
That's basically it! I love how simple and effective it is!
How you stylize the character and how you draw them is all up to you!
Many credits to insertdisc5 since I basically just tried to mimic their style with some liberty sdhjdfg

Hi! I was really interested in this post and I thought that I’d try it!
My ingame name is Flick, she/they, I’m b-day twins with Leona, and I’m 15 going on 16 soon! (So no staff matches, please!)
I’m an introvert, and I’m on the spectrum. Probably ADHD or OCD? I’m still on the waiting list for a psych evaluation. I tend to overshare and get defensive easily.
I can’t stand clutter. If I’m in a messy environment I can’t function. I’m only productive if I need to do something I’m interested in. My lifestyle is based on my mood, so it fluctuates a lot. I consider myself to have pretty intense mood swings.
I like sunshine, grape juice, graphic novels, writing, drawing and cats. I dislike bugs, clutter, my siblings, hot weather and alarm clocks.
I’m homeschooled b/c my experience in public school wasn’t good. I hyperfixate on things. The current object of my obsession is Twisted Wonderland.
When in a good environment, I perform very well academically. I enjoy being physical (like in P.E.), but haven’t recently.
My life is kind of in a slump right now. My mental health is high, and I’ve been working on improving myself, but I haven’t gotten anywhere with social or physical health.
I’m hoping to change that soon and get out of my comfort zone. I want to have friends and be able to not get flustered or freak out around people. That’s a big goal of mine.
I think I’m a little like Rook, but I only focus on the beauty in art. Not people or architecture, just art. I feel happiest when I find a graphic novel that boasts the art style I admire.
Okay, sorry if that was too long! Thank you so much for looking at this, I look forward to seeing who I’ll match with! (Please do platonic and romantic!)
I match you with Kalim Al-Asim
(platonic)
The First Impression:
As soon as Kalim accidently made eye contact with you one time in the hall he was immediately attached to your side. Determined to be your friend.
The Relationship:
No matter how much you "overshare" kalim was right next to you eagerly listening to each word like a podcast....he may not remember all of it but he tries! No matter how defensive you become this clueless ball of sunshine was never taking any of it personally and always tried to make you more comfortable with him. Honestly it's hard to tell if he is extremely patient with your mood swings or just dosen't notice them.
Any intrests of yours are always fascinating to him, and as soon as you mention any Hobbie Jamil is physically holding him back from spending hundreds of thousands on supplies so he can join your fun. Though after Jamil is done wrestling him feel free to talk his ear off about your current hyperfixation. He is eagerly listening while nodding.
Being homeschooled and a bit deprived of social interaction was something both of you had experienced when younger and while kalim may refuse to feel negativity about this experience burying his emotions deep deep down it dose give him something to relate to you about.
Knowing that you love sunshine he always would try to get you to hang out at a park or eat outside with him, but would always avoid Scarabia or any hot and humid places prioritizing your comfort above all else.
As soon as he head you mention once in passing that you wanted to get out a bit more and make more friends this boy was all over it, dragging you around and introducing you to everyone he knew, constantly encouraging you to step out out your comfort zone.
He means well just put your hand on his shoulder and tell him to slow down a little.
I match you with Jade Leech
(Romantic)
The First Impression:
Jade was intrigued by you, or rather more specifically your tendencies. Granted, that they were nothing too outlandish but nonetheless the variety of emotions, reactions, tendencies and appearance mixed together at times could be quit the contradiction and always made his eyes linger on you whenever near
Why He Fell:
Honestly no one knows why Jade fell, perhaps not even Jade himself. Granted even if the Leech twin did happen to know it was very unlikely that he would tell you. Though over time it became clear how he would subtly glance around the room, or how he would casually inch twords you, even getting to the point where he would randomly muse to himself about whatever had your focus raising his voice ever so slightly louder than usual or interject in your conversations. Soon this turned into light touches such as picking a leaf off your uniform or brushing your hair out of your face, which became bolder casually grabbing your arm or shoulder to steer you eventually morphing into him putting a arm around your shoulders or resting his chin atop your head.
The Relationship:
When you did begin dating the closer you got the more that it was clear that Jade was in no way the more reasonable twin, he just happened to be more composed and less upfront than Floyd was. This was made clear the more time you spent with him being just as chaotic as his brother, having a tendency to hang around whatever he had deemed amusing.
Being that he has a rather moody brother himself the male delt with your mood swings quite well, even if they were particularly bad at times he always managed to take whatever you threw at him with an amused smile already being adjusted to have to live with a rather unpredictable and moody person since birth.
He was eerily good at picking up on your mood, interests, and current hyperfixations. Always knowing just where the line was and making sure to never cross it. Despite his surprisingly teasing nature at times that to some may come off as intimidating and everything in-between your relationship was built off of a mutual respect for one another's boundaries and care for eachothers needs.
It was good for him that he noticed how much you loved the sun and enjoyed being active, using this information to his advantage he began taking you on hikes with him. After a while of this happening he happening to note you tended to have more energy the day after and seemed to be more positive and productive causing him to make these hikes a annual thing making sure you have them at least once a week if not more.
As soon as you accepted Jade Leech as your partner that was it, there was not getting rid of him. There was no way he was letting you go over trivial fights and such like most relationships downfall. As far as he was concerned he was just waiting for the time to pass till he could legally make you his life partner. Though despite this he never stopped working on maintaining your relationship and keeping clear communication about the important things so that one day he will be able to get a ring on that finger. Though until then he'll just enjoy the ride.

I really love your art style! ♥️ Do you have any recommendations for tutorials on learning to draw digitally? I know I could just look at little micro tutorials but I’m autistic so I need really specific instructions step by step to get started
Hey thanks! Honestly I am not good at digital art as much as traditional. Also, this question is pretty vague and you havent reblogged/liked anything of mine so Im not sure which artwork you might be referring to... if you mean pixel art, digital paintings, commissions Ive done, etc
But, I have a HUGE tag full of art resources that are 90% for digital art because I also had a really hard time getting started!
If you want to scroll through my #art ref tag, I have been compiling resources for almost a decade.
Here is a small tutorial Ive been pulling up for years to look at whenever I forget how to digitally paint, that just shows exactly how the artist does layering, shading, etc
Also, Tutor Tuesday is a BUNCH of tutorials that are all about very specific things (hair, faces, animals, lining in general, sketching in general, you name it) , in fully illustrated guides so you can see step-by-step how to do it. This is the best resource I can find for beginning digital art
Also check the users I reblog tutorials from, if the above aren't really what youre looking for. Drawingden, etheringtonbrothers, and art-tutorials-n-references are all good pages to follow if you want to see more guides!
Feel free to message me if you want to see more of my processes, I might have some old pics or videos I can share!
#Asksksks#art tutorials#i am also autistic and haaaate drawing tutorials lol i just save them for other people to use!#these are the better ones i could find that actually show EXACTLY how the artist does it and not just 'general tips'#id start with the tutor tuesdays no.1 where it covers sketching and lining. i think they do it out of order but its all there!#then no.2 gets into visualizing in 3d shapes. honestly if youre just startig out i wouldn't worry about anything else!#or switching from traditional to digital. just focus on sketching and shapes first! then colors and light. not even inking/lines until like#youre super comfortable with digital materials and want to develop your style. then move on to lines and inking and polising

once upon a time I was a skinny white child who liked drawing. consequently, I drew a lot of self portraits and a lot of doodles of characters who looked like me: other skinny white children. I have so, so many OCs from my youth I used to draw comics about, and all of them are skinny white children. then I got a little bit older, and became a skinny white teenager. I had boobs now, though, so I had to learn how to draw boobs if I wanted to keep drawing accurate self-portraits. so I learned how to draw skinny white teenage cis girls. then in late high school thru my first year of uni, I put on a bit of weight and went from being properly skinny to more medium sized, so if I wanted to keep drawing accurate self portraits I had to learn how to draw people who were medium sized. so I did.
and at this point I was an adult, and became more aware of my failings as an artist. I realized I was so used to drawing cis women that I didn't know how to draw an adult with a more traditionally masculine body. I didn't like that I only knew how to draw one kind of nose. so I challenged myself. I learned how to draw men. I learned how to draw different kinds of noses. I learned how to draw fat people and muscular people. I looked up reference images and challenged myself to learn how to draw different Black hairstyles. I watched our flag, and realized I only knew how to draw young people, so I learned how to draw middle aged and old people.
I'm not perfect, and I'm still learning and growing as an artist. as all of these things were happening, I was also trying to learn proportions, how to draw people at different angles and in different positions, or even how to add necks that look right and hands with fingers. anyone who's seen my art knows that it's cute and nice, but not professional level or something anyone would pay for. I'm not trying to make money, I'm trying to become a better for the sake of my own growth as an artist.
I'm not mad at myself or wracked with guilt for spending my entire childhood drawing skinny white kids. kids are naturally self-centered, and I also happened to look exactly like what society deems a "normal" girl. of course I was going to draw people who look like me. that's normal. it's also normal, to say, be 11 or 12 and beg your parent for the "how to draw anime" book and learn how to draw anime characters from it. that book will also only teach you how to draw skinny young people.
but we don't stay kids forever. we grow up, and as an adult artist, it is your responsibility to learn how to draw diverse people along every axis. challenge yourself. it's ok if it's a challenge at first, or if the drawings turn out bad. you don't have to post every drawing you make to the internet. but keep practicing!! the same way you eventually learned how to draw hands and feet, you will eventually learn how to draw diverse faces, bodies, hairstyles, ages, etc.
i's fun and easy to draw things you're comfortable and familiar with, but it's also fun to draw new things. when I draw something new and challenging, it lights up a different part of my brain that's excited to learn. humans naturally want to learn our entire lives. that's how we're built. I just don't understand how so many adult artists whose technical skills are leagues above mine can be happy with themselves knowing they can only draw twinks. don't you want to be able to do more? don't you want to be able to draw anybody? even if you're a very stylized artist like myself, don't you want to be able to capture people in your own style in a way that makes viewers think you captured how that person looks accurately? don't you want to learn and grow???
