Subjangle is at it again. They have a knack for uncovering great pop artists who have been laboring for years and years as unrecognized songsmiths. Their roster is full of examples - The Photocopies, Grand Drifter, 3 A.M. Again, and The Umbrella Puzzles immediately come to mind.

Now comes Huw Darling and his two projects, The Spanish Amanda and The Chickpea Darlings (both based in England). Both projects remind me of McCarthy, Northern Portrait, The Smiths and Maxwell Farrington and Le SuperHomard.

Context:

Mario used his space travel abilities to travel through time and accidentally ends up 30 years in the future where he sees the world is destroyed by an apocalypse. He doesn’t know what caused it. He only knows when it happens and that his family died trying to stop the person responsible.

With his powers not working, he is stranded in this apocalypse for 40 years all alone. To prevent himself from going crazy, he found a broken TV and drew a face on it. He called him Mr Puzzles since he had “Puzzlevision” written along the rim on his screen.

Also Mario has no spaghetti for these 40 years so he’s practically lost it by the time Handler Peach comes into the timeline to offer him a job as an assassin for the Commission.

I think we, as a fandom, should start talking about how it was probable that Ed’s hallucination was about to begin stripping at the end of homoerotic hallucination scene.

If anyone is curious. This is the hallucination right before Ed yells at him to stop

Next time the camera cuts to him (after Ed yells at him) he has his arms outstretched like this

Not saying that’s what they were going for, but it could be. And in my heart it was.

so i will fully admit to personally being a gamer™ (😔) before saying this but. BUT. i do firmly believe angela and amanda could be such phenomenal gamers if it's introduced to them properly. I really think they'd both deeply enjoy it AND could be so good at them. its already slowly started happening but i need it to keep going. I need it to get wilder. Give them the wide spread. Make them play more wacky puzzle co op. More story driven games. Maybe games with hot characters! and character development! Games with crunchy mysteries to untangle and excellent atmosphere. A horror game for fun and profit. Portal 2. Hades. Little Nightmares. SOMA. Her Story. Control or Alan Wake. The Walking Dead Game. Logistically I dont think it would ever happen but the vision is SO clear in my mind okay. There are so many games and they way they have both been asking earnest questions and improving at games recently........ it could be so good. they could have such a fun time.

one day i'll write up a big list of things bruce's companies do. and what he does personally for philanthropy. i've got a lot of thoughts on it. of course there's no such thing as an ethical billionaire but also bruce is far from a typical billionaire. probably the closest you could possibly get.

I kinda wanna draw More SMG4/Umbrella academy stuff. I feel like some of the characters could suit each other if I twist it right.

For example, if Mario is Five then whilst he’s lost in an apocalyptic future for 40 years, instead of having Delores the broken mannequin to keep him company, he can have Mr Puzzles. A broken TV who he talks to to prevent himself from going crazy. Maybe he even sellotaped a piece of paper to his broken screen and drew a little face on it?

And Bob would 100% be Klaus. Drugs, money, sex, at rock bottom, starts a sex cult, gets kidnapped by Hazel and Cha Cha (would still have to figure out who they would be) I mean it suits him pretty well.

Also, I could put Trashcube in there by making SMG1 Dave. I can picture Bob going up to SMG1 before they technically met in the army and trying to convince him to not go to war bc that’s how he dies and he doesn’t want to loose him because he loves him. Then SMG2 or someone like that (I don’t wanna make it be 2 but I really can’t think of who else would be there with 1) would be the guy screaming at 1 to “punch the queer” to get Bob to shut up and eventually make 1 join the army.

AXOL WOULD BE BEN BC HE’S DEAD AND WOULD TOTALLY FOLLOW BOB AROUND TRYING TO STOP HIS LIFE FROM GOING TO SHIT!!

Maybe Tari would be Victor bc in season 1 he was kinda wimpy bc he thought he was regular and in season 2 he had that whole sexuality and gender journey with Sissy (who would totally be Saiko. Tari x Saiko let’s gooooo)

Ooooo! Maybe Kaizo can be Saiko’s husband who she leaves for Tari!! I hate to do Kaizo like that bro but we need SOMEONE to be the toxic husband.

If Three is Diego then him and Four meeting in the asylum would be awesome. I wanna draw that scene from season 3 where Three would ask “ARE YOU INSANE?!!” And Four would reply “Sweetie you met me in a nuthouse.” So good.

I suppose Meggy would be Allison? Fuck I had something planned with her and Desti but I completely forgot it. I’ll have to figure out who everyone else would be but a few scene redraws could be fun!!
