Okay, I’m just ridiculously curious about if/how you’re going to portray Lucifer in the upcoming TSC books, and I’m wondering if you can give us any info, snippets, anything about him and/or the other Princes of Hell. It’s probably too spoilery, and probably too early, for much of anything, but I’m really fascinated with how you’ve incorporated the Princes of Hell into the TSC world, as well as the other dimensions. Hmmm. I don't think I can say specifically, but I can say that TWP is something of a return to the biblical/demonic mythos of The Mortal Instruments. A lot of what happens turns on various pieces of biblical mythology (since we're dealing with Lucifer!) and references to Paradise Lost/Dante.

Loving a character doesn't mean we have to see them as perfect saints that have never made any mistakes in dealing with any situation. I don't know why it's so hard to understand for anyone. I love so many characters and I still also read certain things and feel they could have handled it better. Most of them are 16/17/18 year olds, they aren't going to be perfect and they will mess it up, they can be selfish and they can be selfless, they can be messy and self centred, they can also be self detrimental without realising. So much empathy for fictional characters, and not even basic listening and conversational skills for real people is weird to me.

This honestly makes me want to see an au where Sebastian/Jonathan is raised by Jocelyn as a fray but once he learns of the shadow world and how he came to be, he slowly disregards the morals he was taught.

Being in the shadow world wouldn’t be the only reason ofc, he would have the same questions of “why is this good?” Etc even before that, but it gives him the space to let his taught humanity falter and fade.

So when he joins valentine he’s happy because unlike Jocelyn, valentine wants to see his fucked up morals blossom to use him. but eventually Jonathan becomes too inhuman even for valentine. And Jonathan is left unhappy again. Too inhuman for both his parents. But human enough for that to hurt, in its own way.

I low key hate him (or love to hate him) but I think it would be interesting.

Sebastian is awful yes & pretty much irredeemable within canon but sometimes I wonder how he would have turned out if he hadn't been raised by Valentine. like yes he has Lilith's blood but how much did that actually contribute to him becoming a monster. how much of it was from growing up being told your a monster, that there's something so inherently wrong with you that it drove your own mother away because she was incapable of loving you.

like maybe the two Jonathan ending up how they did has less to do with the experiments Valentine preformed and more to do with the different ways he raised him knowing which blood ran in their veins. which is supported by Clary & Ash, whom Valentine had no direct influence over, because Ash has Lilith's blood and is capable of being caring etc and Clary has Ithuriel's blood and is capable of being cruel & heartless.

I’m reading the first few chapters of Lady Midnight and I love the different interpretations of Julian’s character.

Emma: I miss him so much, and I know him so well, and we have the strongest bond in existence.

Cristina: He seems so charming and happy, he looks adorable with the pancake batter and the towel with puppies; Guys, she literally identities him as having a “halo” of light around him

Julian: I hate it here. I am a massive liar and no one knows the secrets I keep.

Topics being new theories regarding upcoming content like TWP and old discourse on Sebastian/Jonathan, amongst other conversations that I and others have been recently engaging in.

I am currently drawing the banner for it. Yes, I have drawn everything myself with inspiration from Cassandra Jean's art and using references from the Codex.

Some of the tsc opinions make me cackle because what do you mean you hate Julian Blackthorn but love “morally grey men who would burn the world for his love?” Julian “The World can burn if my family lives” Blackthorn is the definition of Morally grey. What I love about Julian is his morality is skewed when his loved ones are in question and yet he had never made a morally wrong decision for the fun of it, or hurt someone who didn't deserve it. Yet, He is also a 17 year old Child who was forced to grow up. But he is still a child/teenager - he isn't going to always act “mature" for his age 🤷
