The actors are doing some fantastic work in this weird little piece. The gist is that Cynthia Nixon is a artist mother who goes missing for seven years as some sort of big art project and doesn't even tell her son, so he sees her everywhere. Cynthia Nixon plays about half a dozen different characters throughout the course of the show, and it's very freudian. The design relies a lot on projection work, and this is one of the rare instances where I think it's been done well (and I'm not just saying that because Cynthia appears topless out of nowhere on massive screens for a few seconds...). I was front row center and they start the show sitting on the edge of the stage less than two feet from me. I learned that Cynthia's a spitter when she's doing stage work, so...yeah.

Verdict: A Lovely Night

Thinking about the Overlord Husk AU, where he ends up winning Angels contract and they slowly develop a romantic relationship

Only for it all to be cut short when Husk flies too close to the sun, betting soul after soul against Alastor in an increasingly losing game. When things get dire, when he feels his power slipping through his claws and the weight of old enemies eyeing the growing target on his back, he strikes a deal: his soul to keep the power he’d gained as an Overlord.

With the loss of his status any remaining soul contracts with Husk become Null, officially releasing Angel.

Angel, free to finally make choices for himself without the weight of a chain around his neck, finds himself unable to leave. He’s devastated by the loss of Husk, arguably one of the best things that had happened to him in what feels like an eternity, and can’t stand the thought of his new home at the Casino being swept up by other overlords. Especially the Vees.

Refusing to lose more than he already has, Angel takes control of the casino and begins to build his own power. With the help of his mafia history he builds a new crime family for himself, running the casino by day and organizing crime at night, becoming the very thing that had controlled him: an Overlord

His only goal: become powerful enough to win Husk back, or kill Alastor himself

And what better opportunity than to sponsor the hotel they’re staying at.

hey other astarion fuckers i got a question (spoilers for his backstory ahead).

so it's said or implied several times throughout the game that astarion had sex with the people he lured back for cazador, but how does that work logistically? when in the night and where are they having sex? i would imagine the series of events goes something like this:

they meet in a seedy tavern

astarion is all like "come back to my place so we can fuck" or "let's go somewhere private"

they arrive to cazador's place or go somewhere away from eyes and astarion incapacitates them whereupon they are brought to cazador's place

cazador drinks them dry

where in this timeline is there room for fucking? perhaps a longer one that's not one night stands where they string people along for a while before they bring them to cazador's? but why do that if you could do it in one night?

also vaguely related, is it not suspicious if the same people keep hanging around your tavern and the people they go home with are never seen again? do the victims not have families? where is the flaming fist? is cazador paying them off? even so you'd think with the numbers game eventually one of their victims will have friends/family that are insistent enough that they won't drop the disappearance thing. i have to know how they are getting away with this!!

gotta say, all the Avina (Infamous) hate is starting to get so uncomfortable. "they do NOT have platonic feelings for Seven I can TELL! 🔪🔪🔪" and generally just people being so suspicious of that friendship... listen, I'm genuinely sorry if you haven't had close enough platonic relationships to be able to understand that people can be incredibly loving and loyal to each other without romance, but please go touch grass. thanks ✌🏻
