Gothika: The New Frontier
Part 2!!
The Green House
Tumblr media
I recently figured out why it's not completely oxidized yet, so it will be de constructed and separated so it can be completely green. Not sure what I want to do with it yet? I'm still pondering its use.
The Villager House
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had this idea to make a house for a future Villager neighbor (via like a zombie Villager healed) but I haven't seen one yet.
Bricks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A work house for the eventual Villager. It was originally a failed mine shaft.
Medical Cottage
Tumblr media
This is a work in progress, but I got really lucky in finding a broken portal near a cherry tree patch! I got a little idea that any good settlement needs a hospital! There will be more floors, but I have to plant more sapplings. Luckily, I have a 43 stack!
The Farm
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obligatory farm to keep food supplies up. My chickens lay so many eggs that it's insane. Blorbo recently got a wife, and they had a son together. I need to get some company for my cow. I also have llamas that were abandoned from an unalived wandering traveler (not pictured).

Nikki: Warming Match
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designer’s Reflection: Warming Match
Obtained: Memory Stairway
Rarity: SR
Attribute: Green/Fresh
Awakened Suit: Cool Match-Up
Story - transcripts from Designer’s Reflection
Chapter 1 - Mix and Match
Chapter 2 - New Inspiration
Chapter 3 - Breaking the Rules
Story - summarized
Nikki wants to enter a design competition... if she can ever come up with an idea. The rules are to create a unique outfit, but only using ordinary elements.
Her sister, Yoyo, is in the middle of college, but she likes to visit a bustling, up-and-coming district full of fresh and unique outfits. She calls Nikki and invites her to a day out at the district, the Settlement. More specifically, she knows Nikki is having a hard time with inspiration, and she wants to take her to her favorite store down there called The Circles.
Wanting to look her best, Nikki chooses a cute and popular suit to wear to the Settlement... but she quickly learns that the main style there is innovative and not popular. She feels conspicuous as Yoyo leads her to The Circles.
Yoyo is friends with the owner, a young man who styles a suit with a skirt, pink with plaid. He tells Nikki to try any of his clothes, encouraging her to try new styles. So, with her sister’s enthusiastic help, Nikki finally finds an outfit that brings out her wilder side. The owner says that the best way to find a unique style is to try different things together until you find something great.
With this in mind, Nikki returns home and looks over the original suit she wore that day. Cute, pink and purple, sweet... She re-layers the clothes, adds a pillow bag, repurposes her rain boots, and tweaks her design until she finally has a unique outfit with ordinary elements for the design competition.
She wins the competition! To celebrate, she wears her fresh, new outfit as she and Yoyo visit the Settlement for lunch and a visit back to The Circles.
Connections
-Yoyo is always willing to help her sister, even if it means pushing her out of her comfort zone. She did this in Before the Dawn, tricking Nikki into making a costume for herself and pulling her onstage to sing with the band.
-Nikki uses the re-layering technique in her suit for Flower and Jenny. Both have a bra-like shape in the bodice to give it a special touch.
-In the Ark, you can tap on Nikki’s image in the Reflection to bring up extra lines of dialogue. One of the lines mentions “sweaters, lace, and long hair.” Nikki is talking about her very first design as a child, First Snow.
Fun Facts
-This is the third Memory Stairway suit to get a third color, right after Choco Time and Soccer Tone. The pattern on the suit is plaid, like the pattern the owner of The Circles was wearing on his skirt when they first met.
-Each of the Memory Stairway suits demonstrate a different lesson or memory about design that Nikki had to experience to grow in her skills. In Warming Match, she learns to keep an open mind by breaking the rules as she goes; there is always a new way to style.

Hey so remember how grocery prices suddenly jackknifed during lockdown and never went back down?
Well turns out the companies would have done that shit either way and had been steadily price-fixing for the last decade!
Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson just announced more than $40 million in court-ordained Fuck You money from massive swaths of food production companies are to be paid out to households earning at or below 175% of the federal poverty level ($25.5k for 1 person, $34.5k for 2 people households) before Dec 31st of this year. Happy Holidays.
youtube
"The bottom line here is that my legal team took on two large corporate price-fixing conspiracies that increased the cost for groceries for Washington families. We've prevailed, and as a result, we are sending checks to over 400,000 Washington households."
Cannot stress enough the extent of the conspiracies he's talking about here. 15 out of the total 19 chicken producers got nailed in this lawsuit. Not the total number of conspirators, mind, just the ones who left enough evidence for the AG to kick their ass in so expedient a manner. Make no mistake, all 19 were in on it. The court case against the rest of them has been delayed until October of next year, though. None of them are making it out unscathed.
Tuna didn't escape antitrust horseshit either, because the CEOs of Starkist, Chicken of the Sea, and Bumblebee Tuna had a fucking group chat where they complained that the price of tuna was "too low" and they agreed to artificially inflate the price.
“What’s so maddening about the conduct of these companies is the reason that they engaged in this price-fixing conspiracy was greed. They wanted to make money."
Tumblr media
So anyway the AG who nailed their asses to the wall and continues to do so is running for governor. If you live in Washington, could be worth your vote when primary season rolls around.

[ID: a link preview of a stock image coffee table with a laptop with the facebook logo on the screen with text on top that says 'anyone who used facebook in the last 16 years can now get settlement money. here's how." end ID]
-USA Residents Only-
Time Sensitive- Apply before August 25th, 2023 (8/25/23)!
Filing a claim takes less than ten minutes, and can be done HERE
Excerpt from article:
Anyone in the U.S. who used Facebook in the last 16 years can now collect a piece of a $725 million settlement by parent company Meta tied to privacy violations — as long as they fill out a claim on a website set up to pay out money to the social network's users.
The settlement stems from multiple lawsuits that were brought against Facebook by users who claimed that the company improperly shared their data with third-party sources such as advertisers and data brokers. The litigation began after Facebook was embroiled in a privacy scandal in 2018 with Cambridge Analytica, which scraped user data from the site as part of an effort to profile voters.
Meta denied any liability or wrongdoing under the settlement, according to the recently created class-action website. However, the agreement means that U.S. residents who used Facebook between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, can file a monetary claim as long as they do so before August 25, 2023.
Please reblog to signal boost this! As many people as possible should know about this to make their claim, if you don't do anything you don't get anything. It takes less than ten minutes to file and pick your payment option including pay/pal and ven/mo .

I desperately hope they keep the detail of sally selling Gabe’s statue because there is something so hilarious about that woman opening her front door, seeing that her ex-husband has been Medusa-ed, and going “you know I think he’d look nice at an art gallery”
It’d also be one hell of a divorce settlement and that’s what she deserves

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel has approved the largest seizure of land in the occupied West Bank in over three decades, a settlement tracking group said Wednesday, a move that is likely to worsen already soaring tensions linked to the war in Gaza.
Israel’s aggressive expansion in the West Bank reflects the settler community’s strong influence in the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the most religious and nationalist in the country’s history. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a settler himself, has turbocharged the policy of expansion, seizing new authorities over settlement development and saying he aims to solidify Israel’s hold on the territory and prevent the creation of a Palestinian state.
Authorities recently approved the appropriation of 12.7 square kilometers (nearly 5 square miles) of land in the Jordan Valley, according to a copy of the order obtained by The Associated Press. Data from Peace Now, the tracking group, indicate it was the largest single appropriation approved since the 1993 Oslo accords at the start of the peace process.
Settlement monitors said the land grab connects Israeli settlements along a key corridor bordering Jordan, a move they said undermines the prospect of a contiguous Palestinian state.
U.N. spokesperson Stephane Dujarric called it “a step in the wrong direction,” adding that “the direction we want to be heading is to find a negotiated two-state solution.”
The newly seized land is in an area of the West Bank where, even before the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, settler violence was displacing communities of Palestinians. That violence has only surged since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack ignited the war in Gaza. Settlers have carried out more than 1,000 attacks on Palestinians since October in the West Bank, causing deaths and damaging property, according to the U.N.
The land seizure, which was approved late last month but only publicized on Wednesday, comes after the seizure of 8 square kilometers (roughly 3 square miles) of land in the West Bank in March and 2.6 square kilometers (1 square mile) in February.
That makes 2024 by far the peak year for Israeli land seizure in the West Bank, Peace Now said.
By declaring them state lands, the government opens them up to being leased to Israelis and prohibits private Palestinian ownership.

I have not posted my personal builds...
Welcome to Gothika: The New Frontier! (My survival game)
Tumblr media
Originally, this was not the spot I was planning on staying at, but circumstances happen. So let's start with my first house!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was once so small, but now I have expanded! I wanted to try this patio area idea instead of he usual square building. It is now my favorite house type to build. My dog's name is Honey if you wanted to know.
The Watch Tower
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, it's not exactly a watch tower anymore. I might rename it to the Gem House? However, I have over +30 images to show, so I'll have to make a part 2!

Chapter 3: Breaking the Rules
Narrated by Nikki.
Narrator: After I returned home, I looked anew at the girl in the mirror.
Narrator: I wore a pink-purple outfit in the latest style; in my hand was a classic purse.
Narrator: But everything could be different... as long as the designer was willing to add a little creative magic.
Nikki: Maybe I can remold it a little...
Narrator: I snipped at my clothes with the little scissors of my imagination as countless waves of inspiration rushed over me.
Narrator: My eyes became fixed on the heart-shaped pillow placed on the window.
Choose “No... not the pillow... right...?” or “Pillows can be part of an outfit, too?”
If “no pillow,” ...
You: You’re not going to... not the pillow, right?
Narrator: I like this pillow, that’s why I’m giving it a more meaningful identity.
If “yes pillow,” ...
You: Pillows can be part of an outfit, too?
Narrator: Not just pillows. Everything around you can become a source of creativity.
--
Nikki: Add a hand strap to this pillow, and it becomes... a handbag!
Narrator: The next target was my two-piece dress.
Narrator: Just do a little revision... change the order of inside and outside, and the dress immediately becomes unique!
Narrator: Some cool cubes could be added to my lovely purple skirt.
Narrator: And the rain boots for rainy days could be matched with stockings of the same color...
Nikki: That’s pretty much it!
Narrator: The transformation of my clothes was finally done. I looked at the design drawings with satisfaction.
Narrator: Although they were some common elements from daily life...
Narrator: ...they could become something entirely new after their shackles and rules were broken.
Narrator: The final design that stemmed from that wave of inspiration successfully earned the judges’ favor.
Yoyo: I have half the credit for you winning the prize! Don’t forget to treat me to a meal.
Nikki: Of course. Let’s have some barbecue hot pot with Momo. By the way, I need to thank that friend of yours.
Yoyo: Why don’t you put on that redesigned dress and visit the store someday? The two of you could talk about it!
Narrator: A few days later, dressed in a redefined outfit, Yoyo and I were strolling in the Settlement once again.
Narrator: My eyes were still dazzled for all the different styles of fashion.
Narrator: And this time, I had finally become a “normal outlier,” easily blending into the unique view.

Can yall imagine yourself being wen ning marching towards your death (this time willingly) with your sister's hand in your own, all to protect the people you love?
Watching them burn her to death and hearing that its meaningless and that they still plan to continue and kill everyone, you attempt to break out and rush back, but its not possible, and you're confined before long.
It isnt until time passes and in your confinement you hear of how the people you loved and would give everything to protect have all been killed and its through the guards holding you captive jeering and laughing and that the world is celebrating their deaths.
And you can't even weep because your eyes can't cry
They're all dead. What was it for? What was her death for?! What had his A-Jie been burned to death for?
Little A-Yuan,
Granny Wen,
Uncle Four... everyone is dead.
Young Master Wei....Wei Wuxian, the last sight you remember is him lying there helplessly calling for you to not go and you wish you had listened.
You can only greive now. The only thing you can do is scream, and its not enough.
Then they begin experimenting on you, and no one knows you're kept down here, locked away, all alone with people who don't consider you human.
Then you lose your free will, your thoughts and consciousness, until 13 years later.
13 Years Later, you hear a familiar melody calling for you and a seed of hope grows in your chest

Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable was born in Saint-Domingue, Haiti (French colony) during the Haitian Revolution. At some point he settled in the part of North America that is now known as the city of Chicago and was described in historical documents as "a handsome negro" He married a Native American woman, Kitiwaha, and they had two children. In 1779, during the American Revolutionary War, he was arrested by the British on suspicion of being an American Patriot sympathizer. In the early 1780s he worked for the British lieutenant-governor of Michilimackinac on an estate at what is now the city of St. Clair, Michigan north of Detroit. In the late 1700's, Jean-Baptiste was the first person to establish an extensive and prosperous trading settlement in what would become the city of Chicago. Historic documents confirm that his property was right at the mouth of the Chicago River. Many people, however, believe that John Kinzie (a white trader) and his family were the first to settle in the area that is now known as Chicago, and it is true that the Kinzie family were Chicago's first "permanent" European settlers. But the truth is that the Kinzie family purchased their property from a French trader who had purchased it from Jean-Baptiste. He died in August 1818, and because he was a Black man, many people tried to white wash the story of Chicago's founding. But in 1912, after the Great Migration, a plaque commemorating Jean-Baptiste appeared in downtown Chicago on the site of his former home. Later in 1913, a white historian named Dr. Milo Milton Quaife also recognized Jean-Baptiste as the founder of Chicago. And as the years went by, more and more Black notables such as Carter G. Woodson and Langston Hughes began to include Jean-Baptiste in their writings as "the brownskin pioneer who founded the Windy City." In 2009, a bronze bust of Jean-Baptiste was designed and placed in Pioneer Square in Chicago along the Magnificent Mile. There is also a popular museum in Chicago named after him called the DuSable Museum of African American History.
