The Expendables 2 (2012)

The Expendables 2 has extensive use of machine guns, all with bright muzzle flashes. While most of these uses happen in bright, daytime environments, they are all very bright and create strong strobe effects.

The camera is frequently handheld, but never shakes violently in this film. There is brief action involving vehicles at high speeds and in flight.

Flashing Lights: 8/10. Motion Sickness: 4/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: This film is very bloody and gory. There are a couple of uses of the R-slur.

I walked into the living room to see my dad watching one of the Expendables movies and I’m like oh this is 3 cause the dude dies and it cause that guy to doubt putting young guns in the field which leads to Glen Powell? And he’s like idk. And then Van Damme came out and I’m like, no it’s 2 cause 3 has Mel Gibson. And he looks at me like I’m crazy.

One thing I’ve noticed about people in or entering their 30s is they don’t make as many compromises anymore. If someone doesn’t meet them halfway, is not up to standard, is just not where they’re needed to be, they’re just like “ok cool” and they move on from the person. Which is not to say they’re less empathetic or understanding, but more that they have learned that time is their most prized possession and they’re not willing to make massive compromises on it. They are not obsessed w the idea of fixing someone (bc the concept of fixing a person doesn’t really exist). They simply move on to someone who is up to par. I want that. I want to always move w the awareness that time is my most priceless belonging and I can never buy it back. Ever. So I have to use it wisely
