Ah, the ABO fic. Fics even.

I always wanted to write an ABO fic, because it's a trope that I love. I find it hot, and really damn interesting, I read a lot of great fics in that universe, including the brilliant Magic that You Do, written by my friend Koda (I mean, I didn't even play the game and I loved the story, that should tell you something).

But then, the thought police and other affiliated "holy warriors" that can be found on the internet and fandom spaces spoke about omegaverse in a way that started to make me feel weird for liking it. It's what they do, unfortunately, often under very good pretenses, a very nice rethoric and super friendly smileys.

So for years, when people said it was weird to like ABO, because the non-con undertones are problematic, because the mpreg found on those fics is gross, because it has the worst kind of porn, because the trope demeans both women and men and everyone in between, I just awkwardly laughed and said nothing. I went away to lick my wounds in private, and wonder if I even had my place in the Court of Miracles that is fandom space in general.

But this year, I've decided to be brave.

This the year I'm going against a big dragon: my inner censor. It's a quest that demands that I let go of many conceptions I have about myself, fandom space, what it's like to be a "respectable fanfic author" and if I even want to be one.

But that wasn't your question xD.

It's just to contextualize the importance of this challenge I'm considering for myself. Also to speak out about what I like and affirm that I won't cut myself from the things that bring me joy just because some people decided to ruin it instead of walking away.

ANYWAY.

So at first I wanted to write Omega!Santino and Alpha!John, because I love the dynamic of the Omega being in control of the big bad Alpha thanks to pheromones and other shenanigans. Also, I told myself "to hell with trying to be original, just write whatever pleases you" and I wanted Omega!Santino, bear with me (I realize I'm totally trying to justify myself, as I said, the inner censor is strong, it's my dragon of the year). And I'll do Mpreg with that because that's one thing about me: once I'm decided, I go all in.

Then, I talked to Koda, who actually helped without knowing just by the fact he wrote one himself (quoted earlier). And I tentatively said I wanted to do mpreg for that fic on top of the ABO and he said "impregnate that man!" (talking about John, of course) and then we had a great talk about how we all kinda want to see John heavily pregnant and then, it happened that Koda sort of had an idea, and dumped it on my lap saying he wouldn't write it. So... I'm most probably writing it.

So there will be two ABO fics with mpreg both. Though I must unfortunately say from the get go that only one fic will see the pregnancy to the end, because I would never pass an opportunity to be horrible to my barbie dolls, and to explore more trauma and themes (as I said, I'm an "all or nothing" kinda girl).

I generally try to work on only one project at once, or two (like, one big fic and smaller ones to unblock and unwind), so here is my List, in the order I plan to write the fics.

Despite literally ordering volume one (so excited btw- anytime i think about the fact i was lucky enough to order everything i literally buzz with excitment and flap my hands) I always forget that Double Hearted is like. A real thing. With multiple volumes. With multiple chapters in those volumes. Like this is Real. This right here? This is a whole complete comic SERIES.

Do you realize how cool that is? How amazing you and Maruu are? Do you understand that you guys have basically revolutionized the art community within the Hc/life series fandom? You guys didn't just create a silly little au with amazing writing and drawings, you guys created a real, tangible, thing that hasn't fully been done before. Comics? Sure. Merch? Sure. But ddvau is different, because its not only spiraled into something that is known by the majority of the fans here, but it's literally not even the whole au. Double Hearted is just a mini story, something happening in the background of your own original story.

And that? That amazes me. You and Maruu are so talented, and have created something that will probably go down in the metaphorical history books of the HermitCraft/Life Series fandom. You guys deserve so much love, because you have inspired hundreds of people, if not thousands, and that alone is something most artists only wish they could do.

Preach! Tommy in Bucks loft bringing him his breakfast and meds and ice was played so...normal and everyday. I loved that. Buck is obviously used to having Tommy show up for him and be his space and Tommy knows his way around. They did great establishing that they´ve are together and comfortable with each other even before Buck called Tommy his boyfriend

I love every single implications those scenes have. From 8x05 we can infer:

Tommy was the one who brought Buck’s home because he couldn’t drive

They both changed their outfits two times. This implies both that Tommy has at least two changes of clothes at Buck’s place and that he helped Buck change and wear a hoodie (which is literally the worst choice when you have a dislocated shoulder but I digress)

The whole “oh so I am gross?” really makes me think they had a whole discussion where Buck whined he was gross and ugly and Tommy promised “you’re hot, like you always are”

Tommy knows his way around Buck’s kitchen well enough he can make coffee and avocado toast and get ice packs without Buck’s help

Tommy not only saw Buck at his worst but he saw Buck being kind of a mess multiple times (their scenes so far include: Buck maiming his best friend, Buck putting his foot in his mouth on their first date, Buck becoming so convinced he’s cursed he breaks out in hives) and instead of running the other way Tommy’s whole reaction was: i’m gonna take care of him and I’m gonna put on a suit and perform a curse-breaking ritual in a graveyard because it’s important to him

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how secure Buck is in their relationship!!!!!! No “you don’t have to stay here”!!! No “it’s probably dumb but I think I’m cursed”!!! No “if you don’t want to come it’s okay”!!! Buck is so unapologetically himself it truly warms my heart. That’s his boyfriend who likes him and Buck knows it and takes full advantage of it!!!

They did such a great job in 8x05 in showing what a healthy relationship for Buck looks like. I’m gonna treasure it forever.

"Ugh, not Big Fenton," Damian groaned. "I don't want her to babysitting on me, Todd."

"It's just only 3 days, Demon Spawn." Jason replied.

“Can’t someone else do it?” Damian asked.

Jason looked at him with a glare. “What’s wrong with Jazz? She’s awesome.”

Damian blushed as he thought about Jazz’s unconditional patience, her easy compliments, and her general pleasantness. It was too much, almost alarmingly like Richard’s attitude towards him. How on earth was he supposed to describe that to Jason?

But the more Jason kept looking at him, the more pressured he felt until he eventually just blurted out, “She’s too nice!”

Jason stared at him, dumbfounded. “You don’t like her because… she’s too nice?!”

Damian crossed his arms, his face turning hot. “She’s not like the other people who’ve watched over me! She listens to me too much and she considers my opinion and she takes me seriously but also makes sure I have fun… it’s too much! She’s weird!”

Jason stared at him for a long, long moment, a strange expression flitting over his face before he eventually said, “Well… she’s still coming over though.”

Damian sulked. He was much too worked up to see her. Jason watched him for a moment before grinning and then reaching over to ruffle his hair. “Hey, if you have any complaints, you can always tell her. She considers your opinions, right? I’m sure the two of you can work something out.”

Damian nodded and clicked his tongue. Fine. In order to make sure that she knew that her actions were problematic (and so he would not put her in the same category as Richard), he would have to speak with her today and make sure that she understood that her behavior was too much!

Determined, Damian nodded to himself, not noticing Jason’s furious texting on his phone.

Yes, that sounded like the perfect plan. (And if she was agreeable, he would show her his art. Yes, it was going to be a good day.)

absolutely he is

there's about an 11 year difference between them (Miles is 14, Peter is 25), so it's a lot more like the older brother type of relationship that Peter has with Tim (despite Tim being his uncle). Peter has mentored(ish) other young heroes by this point (mostly in the Bats' universe) but since Miles is another Spider-Man, Peter takes up most of the responsibility in making sure Miles is safe and teaching him the ropes. That's HIS sassy child genius, thank you, and he's not a sidekick, he's Spider-Man.

He was also adamant that Miles tell his parents immediately, and gets along great with Rio and Jeff.

Which is HILARIOUS to me because at this point in time, Peter has built up a persona for the public eye just like the Bats did. In Rio and Jeff's eyes, they're gobsmacked that the clumsy, scatterbrained, and "scaredy-cat" kid that Tony Stark adopted a while ago is Spider-Man. (Technically, none of this is a lie. Because Peter is a terrible liar unless it's For the Jokes, and often comes across this way even if he hadn't meant to.) They're wondering how he pulled that off since he's the same age as Spider-Man, who is known to be an Avenger, and associates in the same circles as Peter. It helps that Peter and Spider-Man have been in a social media war, and that Peter works at the Daily Bugle that is known for disliking Spider-Man. Peter's been taking lessons for years atp to keep his identity safe. Which is also bonus points to Peter, because the two can tell that secret identities mean everything to him, but he told them who he was in a heartbeat (literally the very first thing he did when he found Miles).

In other words: Peter was ecstatic to become a teacher for his own matching superhero kid and it's one of the most important bonds in his life. That's his baby brother now!!
