To be fair to Emps, he spent the entire campaign communicating with Greygold almost exclusively through psionics (or speaking in person).
It’s entirely possible Emps just never thought he’d *need* to physically write Greygold a letter. Not realizing sexy squid dreams aren’t adequate replacement for a heartfelt handwritten note
To be completely unfair to Emps, that dang squid somehow is able to write a letter without fail in the other pathway. A lot of thinking is apparently going on there when you choose The Emperor's side HA. Is all good. I'm getting a feeling it was Withers that initiated the 'Write a Letter' project, so I can only imagine two ways of how it went when Withers explained the task to The Emperor:
