Tumblr media
So rewatching last episode of Tangled The Series, I was studying all the people in this last frame- and i gotta say. I found something a bit strange. But it wasn't who i saw. It's what.
Tumblr media
Here, we can see Attila, holding a cake.
In the shape of a key.
As we know, Chris Sonnenburg, was pretty rude to Varian fans online for a while. " They're aren't focusing on the right things." He kept saying. What if he meant the little things like this? And if he did, what does this mean? Could this little key mean something deeper for the show? If you look closely, it almost looks like the top of the key is in the shape of a crown. But it could just be pixelated. Will we ever know for sure? Is this key a metaphorical key for the show? Meaning that the show is a key to a new realm of possibilities? Or am I just crazy. Tell me your theories! And if anyone knows anything about this interesting easter egg, I'd love to hear about it. Also yes, I was listening to Kronos Unveiled from The Incredibles while writing this.

Also I have no idea whether to do a filler chapter (which I’ve written a while ago) or go straight to the Air Kingdom (which I have not fully fleshed out yet)

Disney-Frozen and Tangled Mirror Theory
A long time ago I read a theory explaining that the original Snow Queen's Magic Mirror was Disney's True Villain. I realized something today. Before I explain it, this theory holds that every Disney story has a "Magic Mirror as the real villain."
Now we all know that Tangled and Frozen take place in the same universe.
Because we saw Rapunzel and Eugene at Elsa's coronation. My theory depend on "the same universe" theory, i found another parallel. In the episode "A Tale Of Two Sisters" of Tangled the series, we saw that Gothel had a lot of mirrors and looked at them for days.
Tumblr media
She has a collection. When Rapunze live in the tower we saw Gothel looks into the mirror in the tower and think about herself's beauty for hours. Arrogant. The mirror which Rapunzel when she first wore the crown. In the story of the Snow Queen, the Magic Mirror created by the trolls, then broken. The mirror falls to the earth, reaches people's hearts and eyes. What if the peace of the broken mirror enters the peace of ALL mirrors on earth ? Turn humans to peoples who look at all the beauty with selfishness and are unlogical suspicious of the earth and people. Feed their unreasonable feelings . When the Tale Of Two sisters happened Cassandra notice the mirrod which changed by Zhan Tiri then look at it. From the first time Cassandra saw her changed memories with Gothel, Cassandra believes that this is Rapunzel's trick before listening to Rapunzel. Even Rapunzel never leaves Cassandra in Gothel's place and they  looks at all the mirrors  together. The peace of Magic Mirror is in all mirrors. In yesterday's tomorrow's house there was a real mirror that turns people into their villains, yes Gothel is arrogant but this mirror feeds her. Cassandra doesn't trust Rapunzel but mirror feed it. If Cassandra doesn't trurst Rapunzel with no doubt why she feel she can be a team with Rapunzel and feel happiness when getting along with Rapunzel
Tumblr media
Cassandra, I don't think the mirror turn her against Rapunzel and did all this. Cassandra's villain was realistic and amazing. Also Varian's
Then after all this, I found a Frozen - Tangled Parallel
Tumblr media
The mirror feed Gothel's arrogant mind for years now shows Gothel's true self. Because it broken peace by peace
And
Tumblr media
Second mirror in Arendelle's boat the boat Agnar and Iduna use to their search for Antohallan. What if Agnar look at this mirror and mirror covers the heart of Agnar with an unreasonable doubt about Elsa's power (reasonable doubt is an extremely useful thing, but it is unreasonable.....) and wants to keep Elsa a secret forever. He doesn't want to show Elsa to the world or make Elsa accept her powers. The Royal family of Arendelle had a fear of magic that influenced King Agnar in his childhood, but now it mirror reflects his fears.
If this theory is real, trolls have knowledge about the magic Mirror, but trolls are not evil. Even in this theory love can melt mirrors
I protect Eugune's mirrors Eugene never affected by mirror

Okay, please tell I'm not the only one who noticed this. Vex's ear are like, super pointy!
Tumblr media
Okay, y'all gonna call me crazy. But think about it. We've never seen her parents. She has unusually pointy ears. And she's very talented with weapons. I suspect...
She may be part elvish.
Do you see it?! I do! Anyone else notice this? This may or may not be important to my fic later.

OH MY GOD !!!! WAIT!!! BECAUSE LIKE!!!! it's also the way that not even Zhan Tiri was able to piece the incantations together throughout her entire mortal years (that she literally needed to appear in varian's dream to stir him in the correct clue but relied on him to actually decipher it because she couldnt) and yet it only took Varian a mere five weeks to crack the demanitus scroll's secrets and make an entire translation key (that he was able to remember by memory as well mind you) for it. Like yes, that absolutely displays the level of intelligence and how truly gifted this kid is, but it could indeed be hintin at something more!!
And also not to mention, this from the bullet point lore for vat7k:
Tumblr media
LIKE??? HELLO???!!?
One thing I realized while rewatching the Tangled: The Series finale is that Varian’s father and Lord Demanitus look awfully similar…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Quirin looks more soft than him ofc but to be fair I’m talking about, like, a guy who lived a thousand years before Quirin)
Soooo… any chance that Varian is actually Lord Demanitus’ descendant? Eclipse Varian anyone??/ref

Breaking news! Vicky Vale leaks footage of Brucie Wayne following the new teenage rogue 'Phantom' around the city saying "Please let me adopt you 😭"
Phantom refuses and saying he's a supervillian not a lost puppy.
Turns out this was a part of Bruces plan however as Phantom now sees people all over tv talking about him and the Waynes and already considering him a new member of the family. They're even asking when there will be a face reveal. There was a reason he was wearing a mask! He. Is.. A. Villian. What about that do these people not get?!
Sure he doesn't kill people. Or hurt people at all really. Or steal from small family owned businesses. Or...yeah ok. Just because you're a bad guy doesn't mean you have to be a bad guy, ya know? Apparently Gotham doesn't.
Cause they insist hes just a very confused hero

Tangled the Series, remarkably, seems to have almost on accident stumbled into a powerful queer narrative- a narrative which was inherently doomed by the movie and at a broader level the company it’s based off of.
The original Tangled is, primarily, a story about child abuse. Flynn rider, for that reason, represents liberation, an escape from Gothel’s control. So we are content with their ‘happy ever after’- it’s thematically satisfying. However, in the TTS the opposing force shifts from an individual (Mother gothel) to an oppressive system- the society Rapunzel is suddenly expected to conform to and the expectations that come along with that.
Eugene comes to explicitly reinforce this system- he’s ready to settle down and says as much with his proposal in Before Ever after. Rapunzel panics, not because she doesn’t love Eugene, but because the prospect of going back to a form of ‘confinement’ in this case, marriage, after she’s just left the tower is uncomfortable for her. Rapunzel barely knows who she is, and already she feels pressure to conform to what everyone *expects her to be* This is also very present in her strained relationship with her father.
So, as her mind is reeling, what happens next? That’s right, her lady in waiting reveals herself to be a rough around the edges, gender non-conforming lesbian- with a costume change just to really nail this point home. And that night, the night where Rapunzel was supposed to promise herself to a domestic life with Eugene, is when Cassandra takes her out on a liberating outing- takes her past the literal walls she’s not supposed to pass. For just that one night, Cass sets her free- from the expectations of her father, from her boyfriend, from her kingdom. It’s that drive which triggers the return of her magical hair, setting into motion the events of the entire series, events which allow Rapunzel to discover herself.
And we’re supposed to watch that and NOT pick up on queer subtext???

I know we all hate Chris, but where does the idea that he wrote Varian out of season 2 as a reaction to his popularity in the fandom come from?? I've been here for a long time and it seems like I'm only recently hearing ideas like this get circulated and repeated more frequently. It feels like since the show ended the fandom has turned into a rumor mill/game of telephone.
When you purport the idea that Cass replaced Varian due to creator bias, it implicitly places blame for Varian's lack of inclusion on Cassandra as a character. It unnecessarily pits the two characters against each other when this is already kind of an obnoxious issue in the fandom.
Varian also isn't the only victim of bad or messy writing in the show and I find it hard to say he was specifically targeted/excluded when there were tons of other character inconsistencies, loose ends, or concepts that were introduced and then dropped. (As an aside, when you look at the lead time on production for animated shows, the timeline just seems unrealistic/unlikely to me.)
I don't want to preclude the idea that Varian really was deliberately written out of S2 - of course I could be incorrect, but in that case, it's an example of why citing sources when making claims is important and responsible.

From earlier this morning
I do character rants when I’m excited lol
Tangle and Lanolin’s dynamic honesty intrigues me more than Tangle and Whisper with how it’s been developing

It’s hard to talk about this without it sounding like a Mass Effect crossover (which is not what I’m suggesting), but I genuinely think that some/all of the evanuris have been to outer space.
Evidence:
A very straightforward interpretation of “the Void” is space. Like the only reason we don’t instantly think it’s space is because we’re in high fantasy.
Ditto for “Forgotten Ones”.
The astrarium sidequest encourages us to connect old gods with the stars.
Falon’Din walks the night, where the People cannot live, through “airless skies”.
He’s also associated with uthenera, aka cryosleep.
Some very alien monsters are now appearing in Thedas, and also in Ghilan’nain’s workshop(s), which seems to have some connection to the Blight (darkspawn and wardens are the ones being “treated”).
Where does the Blight come from? Oh yeah, that’s right, the Void. A place so hostile Andruil had to don armor of the Void to enter it. 🧑‍🚀
tl;dr the reason the elves lost control of the Blight is because it’s alien terraforming tech. Yes it can injure the titans; yes it may grant you power. But there will be a couple very unwanted side effects.
BTW I know not everyone is a huge fan of sci-fi crashing into fantasy stories, but I think it can be fun if everything is through the eyes of the fantasy characters. You get very poetic interpretations of what’s happening, which is a different angle than what you usually see in sci-fi. If this theory turns out to be true, I imagine everything will still be treated largely as magic, with the sci-fi elements remaining slightly ambiguous.

wait now that i'm thinking about it what exactly was gothel's plan after rapunzel's death. upon her death the magic of the flower would've died too so it was still a temporary solution unless by burying her remains another flower bloomed from there idk

i gotta focus; im shifting into theory mode
so categories right? the categories for the fears? entities? of the protocol verse
we have the oiar's system of organising things- their overly (deliberately?) confusing ring binder of lists of names, things, places, people, and numbers- example:
CAT1RBC5257-12052022-09012024; Reanimation (Partial) -/- Regret [Email]
However, that's the 'official' governmental system- what if there is a different way to sort the cases and the externals, similar to smirke's fourteen (well, 15, but you know)
What if they can be sorted by alchemical elements?
Now, truthfully, there's no one consistent alchemical chart of elements/signs/notations; E.J. Holmyard's Alchemy (1957) lists several consisting of:
Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron, Mercury, Lead, Tin, Suphur, Salt, Aqua Fortis, Sal Ammoniac, Sublimation, Sublimate of Mercury, Realgar, Vitriol, Retort, Common Salt
However, given what Colin said at the end of the latest episode, I think we can restrict our categories to the three elements that make up the tria prima, the three primes of life
That's Mercury (☿), Sulfur (🜍), and Salt (🜔) - Mind, Spirit, and Body
If you remember when the logo for the show was revealed, I took a look at this specific part:
Tumblr media
We have body and mind aligned with chevrons- implying they are being protected, whereas spirit surrounds them and sticks outwards- is that something more aggressive/used as a weapon (the externals?)
I haven't sat down to sort the different cases we've heard under these headings yet, but it's something I'm going to keep in mind going forward. All this alchemy stuff is so cool, can't to see how it will be implemented further
